I had the opportunity to check out 2 large, well known, RV dealerships in the Niagara region. Smithville RV was my third dealership and is significantly smaller. Their service and treatment of customers and potential customers far exceeds that of their larger competitors. My experience was fabulous. You deal directly with the owner and his team and decisions are made on the spot. They care about the customer. My plan was to just shop around for a purchase planned for next spring. After dealing with Dave (owner) and his obvious low pressure and caring attitude I decided that now was the time to make the deal and I did. I have to say that when I first arrived Dave was with another customer so Frank (service technician) showed me the two units I was interested in. Again no pressure but just facts and even pros and cons with each unit openly pointed out. Dave then took over and again made my decision easy. I returned soon after to look at both units with some family and a decision was made. By the way, unlike many dealers, there were no hidden costs. Everything up front. After the purchase was made, delivery and set-up of my Destination trailer took place. The quality of work demonstrated so far has been second to none. I will definitely be a long time supporter and customer of Smithville RV. Thank you Dave and Team.

We purchased a Winnebago Micro Minnie in February of this year from quite a distance away. We can’t say enough about the service we received from Dave and his team. They were incredibly patient with all of our questions and responded promptly both before and after the sale. The price was very fair and we received a quality trailer that was as advertised. We were a little hesitant to purchase from such a distance but given our experience, we wouldn’t hesitate again.

Such an amazing dealership to deal with. Dave and his team went above and beyond for us. We purchased this trailer sight unseen as we are 6 hours away. We definitely recommend Smithville RV. This will be our number one choice for future purchases. Thanks Smithville RV for everything.

UPDATED: as mentioned prior, the purchase and delivery process was excellent. Fast forward almost 1.5 years, trailer is in regular use and exposed to the elements. Although I did not experience any major issues as you spend a lot of time in the trailer it is inevitable that you will find things that has yet to be uncovered and of course our awning danced with a door due to what I can only call a less than stellar design by Forest River but, stuff happens. In the end Smithville and their team are responsive and have completed all warranty work and addressed all issues in a timely fashion. Anyone buying a trailer, buy the extended warranty and not because the trailers are of poor quality but because they are so complicated with so many components, combine that with a dealer and service facility like Smithville and you will continue to have a positive camping experience.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: This review is solely based on my experience going through the sales, pre-delivery and delivery process. None of my experience relates to any post sale warranty work.

First off the dealership is not flashy, everything is outdoors without an indoor showroom although all vehicles are accessible to view even those that are earmarked, sold. Plan during a sunny day.

After some initial communication via email we were invited out to view some rigs that met our criteria. Dave and team were accommodating to answer all of our questions. There was nothing pushy about the process which we appreciated and were given space to explore on our own. Important to note, all emails were responded to within a reasonable time frame.

Pricing is very competitive in comparison to other dealers. Where Smithville separates from others is during their PDI and delivery process. The PDI process with Smithville is extremely rigorous. To provide some examples, each HVAC vent is sealed resealed with foil tape, each window is re-caulked and caulked 360 degrees around the window, the windows come horseshoed from the factory, only caulking from the top and top sides. Additionally every element on the rig that requires a weather proof seal is re-caulked, all water connections are verified, electrical is verified, gas is verified as are all appliances.trim, fit and finishing.

We happened to be onsite during a large destination trailer PDI and the unit had tape indicators everywhere this signified to the team that something needed to be fixed, replaced or addressed in some manner. The unfortunate reality, the quality control out of factory is poor which requires a dealer that provides a superb PDI process.

The few items we did find on our own were addressed without concern. We are very happy with our purchase which had begun almost a year ago to date and I would highly recommend working with Dave and his team for the purchase of a new (or used) trailer.

Updated to express my frustrations with this unit. Unfortunately this trailer needs more than the one AC that it came with. They did tint the windows for us but it did not resolve the issue AT ALL. And the coolest my trailer gets on a hot day is 80 degrees.

During the warranty period we did have several issues that were for the most part fixed, however we were made to feel like we were a huge bother and like our issues weren't "that big a deal". We ended up paying for a private inspection which revealed major issues with our trailer, that again were met with annoyance and ultimately lots of issues left unfixed. Now we have a trailer that does meet our needs and is defective.

Just received our new trailer last week. The process was smooth and the people were great. Dave accommodated our busy schedule and we were able to do most of it via email/ phone. Smithville & Dave are fantastic people. We were thinking about buying a trailer about 4 yrs ago & went to all the larger dealers in the region (Niagara, Sicards, Campkins & Smithville) & the only place that treated us like we were family & wanted to help us get the RIGHT trailer for us instead of sell any trailer was Smithville. We didn't end up buying back then but when the opportunity came up again last month we immediately knew if Smithville had a trailer we liked we wanted to buy from them. We're now the proud owners of a new Villa. Dave has done everything in his power to work around us (my husband has a very difficult work schedule & we live 30+ mins away), help us, get the trailer ready for us, is giving my husband a complete step by step Walk-through on his own time to help us get more comfortable with new trailer since we've only owned Keystones. Trust me, if you want a dealer who treats you like a person & genuinely wants to help you, not a # being punched, go to Smithville. Small dealer. Not impressed at all, drove 2 hours expecting new trailer after reading good reviews but they didn't seem to be much interested in a new future customer, the lady who showed some trailer looked boring, didn't know anything about trailers, 0% help, I visited several RV dealers before but never experienced this, decided not to order from here.
