Smitty's Family Restaurant - Peterborough

Always enjoyable to visit with the friendly staff & owners. The restaurant is extremely clean & welcoming.

On Christmas Eve, the family decided to go to Smitty's for breakfast before some last-minute Christmas shopping. It is a place we have enjoyed very much in the past because of its incredible service and central location here in Peterborough. However, this time, it was nothing like our previous experiences.  This time, not only was our server zooming around the restaurant like a madman, but he was also very rude and lacked the human decency to stop and respectfully respond to us as a paying customer. We sat at the restaurant for almost an hour, only to notice that we were the only table not being served as the other tables (people) had arrived after us and had already received their food and some their bills.  When I politely asked how much longer the food would be, I met with a rude, passive-aggressive response, “When the bell rings and your food is ready, that’s when you’ll get it. ” I was shocked! Not only were we treated so horribly, but he was moving so fast that you couldn't get him to stand still long enough to grab his attention. At that time, my family and I decided it was time to leave and requested our meal be cancelled. He proceeded with ushering us out, but not before demanding we pay for our drinks, which we had every intention of doing! Another server overheard the interaction, walked over, told me not to worry about the drinks and Wished us Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas, indeed. We will not be returning.

Smitty’s is… well Smitty’s. Nice staff. Very basic and plain. Kinda like the Montana of breakfast places. Plain. Simple fare. Staff are friendly. Food is mediocre. Like it is stuck in a time loop. It is like the lights are dimmed to save money. No income to contribute to new anything.

Cool interior but food wasn't as good as it used to be. Service was incredible the waiter was so nice.

Visit first time in the town and doing cafe hopping. Food was amazing and all employees were smiling but one tall lady was not hospitable and arrogant need to learn customer service.

The first time we were introduced to Smitty’s was just before Covid started. It was a shame that it took so long before we could go back and enjoy the great food and fantastic staff. Absolutely everyone is as friendly as can be, every meal has been excellent and done exactly how you ask it to be made. Crispy bacon, perfectly scrambled eggs or poached to perfection, and on a high note, I just can’t say enough about the staff. May this restaurant never have to close for any reason. Thank you all for the way you make us feel like we are part of the family every time we come to enjoy a wonderful meal.

Perfect Home-Style Turkey Dinner.

The dish was so warm & inviting & delicious. The turkey was cooked just like home. The stuffing here was a great compliment. Vegetables great as always. The hero here is the gravy because it is a light gravy that combines the turkey, stuffing, & mashed potatoes altogether. So heart-warming & nice. Perfect dish. Love it. Also, very friendly staff. I will always remember this place forever. I love Smitty's Restaurant.

Very rude with uber delivery drivers. Last words from slim tall guy handing orders was “get lost man you are done” pathetic guy

My girlfriend and I stopped here for breakfast with the restaurant half full. Our server took our order fast then continued to tell us our food would be right up. Over an hour later he began to ignore us and we decided to leave as we couldn’t wait any longer. I was excited to try their food but was horribly let down by the customer service.

This place is is so good, serving staff super helpful and friendly, owner is a great dude. The food is amazing

Clean. Spacious and good personalities. Good service and good food. I think a tad pricy if u r on a budget but nice time to time for a treat.

My wife and I were visiting Peterborough and she was looking for a place to eat. She mentioned Smitty's, and I thought, 'I haven't seen a Smitty's around where we live in a long time. We decided to try it. I had the Cobb Salad. It was excellent. There was only one server on, but it was between lunch and supper so it was not very busy. He did an excellent job waiting on the customers who were there, and we never felt neglected. He is to be commended for his excellent service. I would recommend this restaurant. If we are ever back in the area we would likely go there again.

Too much sour cream on the Hungarian skillet which tasted good once the excess was removed.

Fabulous cinnamon swirl pancakes and omelettes. Kelly was an amazing waitress with over 40 years experience. Being from North Carolina I had not discovered ketchup chips and the owner gave me a bag to try. Yes! I’m hooked on Smittys and ketchup chips. Thank y’all for treating me like family.

Service is quick, food hot. If you are a motorcyclist conversation is informative. Thanks for the list of your favourite road's we did most of them.

The only Breaky place I trust in the City. Todd and Tanya are wonderful owners and the staff at Smitty's are second to none, a very customer obsessed establishment. The food is incredibly delicious and how can you not love All Day Breakfast options? Always an amazing experience at Smitty's!
