I’ve been to this place twice and the food tasted pretty much good but today I ordered poutine and onion rings online and both were terrible. Poutine was overcooked and onion rings were literally burnt. It was so bitter in taste. Just because we did not go there physically, it doesn’t mean you should give us whatever you want. We spent our money which got wasted.
One individual taking my service, ruined my order after getting home. The owner refuses to replace my order after speaking with him directly on the phone. This place is boycotted by myself and family of the area, and the business owners and residents of Barrie already get idea. This is ruining the businesses downtown Barrie.
I ordered the pulled pork poutine, it was pretty pricey and a pretty long wait, The poutine itself yes a bit soggy and is lacking a bit of flavour, for the price I would rather just go to Harvey’s and get a poutine there
Should a good place, sunny, such a good worker. Working on a Saturday making amazing poutine definitely deserves a rise to at least 22$ an hour amazing service made the rest of the night that much better pay. Him. More.
CAN be delicious but there are times when smokes poutinerie simply does not deliver on making good poutine. Often fries are too soggy under all the excessive condiments, and prices do not justify that
I had an amazing experience here (31st march, 2023, around 7 pm), customer service was on top, the employees addressed me with a smile, and the food was amazing. The modifications that I asked for in my poutine were done perfectly. This was probably the best experience I've ever had in a poutinerie.
We went there just for a quick birthday meal we ordered a traditional tater tot poutine with extra curds, a pulled pork poutine that he wanted popcorn chicken added to it and boneless wings. There was a single person both taking orders and fulfilling orders which could be the main issue it was a lunch rush I have 0 idea why you had one person during lunch rush. She proceeded to hand out the wrong order to the wrong people and messed up our order she gave extra pulled pork instead of popcorn chicken and I was given something else entirely with jalapeños and some other weird toppings which doesn't sound like traditional to me. This was my first experience with this restaurant and honestly will be my last this was not a great experience and I wouldn't recommend it to others based on this experience.
If I could do less I would. First time getting this today just traditional and blah blah blah. And overcooked fries with only a few curds on the top. Ordered tator tots for a child literally 10 in the box? For $6 bucks unreal. Don't waste your money because for what you pay it's not worth it.
We ordered two poutines and sides of peirogies and onion rings bringing the total to 50$. When we opened the poutines there was 3 onion rings on top of the poutine as well as 3 peirogies, we were very disappointed especially because of the price…. Not to mention the workers were being very rude, and clearly intoxicated.
I come here last week and had some fries fries but didn’t felt like they were fresh. Moreover my order also came very late. The service was also not good.
Ordered through Uber eats. Ordered 2 regular poutines, 1 large fried perogie and 1 large popcorn chicken. The poutines were rubbery, from the fries to the cheese curds that weren’t even remotely melted. The gravy was salty and tasteless. The portion you receive for popcorn chicken and perogies are not even child sized, however the restaurant feels the need to charge upwards of $10 per side. Will not be ordering/eating here again and will not be encouraging anyone else to do so either. Saw online that they were offering 50% off but after receiving our food we still feel we were overcharged.
I wish I could do negative rating. I went there after a really long time. Disappointed is the only word to describe. The service used to be soo great before but now awful. The food quality and the management disappointed me. NEVER COMING BACK HERE.
The man who prepares the poutine and manages the front counter is a very polite and respectful person. He takes his time preparing the poutine. No nonsense and you get what you pay for.
This is actually one of the worse poutines I've had in a long time. So disappointed. For the price and portion size. They could do alot better. Fries were drowned in gravy. Literally it looked like soup in the container with that much gravy. Could have used more cheese to balance out the extra gravy. Will definitely not be returning.
It was absolutely a delight to visit this place. I ordered the double pork poutines and tater tots, and they did not disappoint at all. The stuff never tried to rush us and were in fact, super nice and patient. I would definitely re-visit this place.
We had a wonderful time here. The place has got a cool vibe. The poutines were large and tasted delicious! Their chef knows the art of making lip-smacking poutine. I am coming back to try more dishes.
Got charged $16 for a large traditional poutine. The medium was $8.49, might as well have gotten 2 mediums. Way too much gravy so the fries were soggy. Not enough cheese curds for the size of poutine. Would not recommend. Will not go back.
Poutine was not as expected. I went last weekend with my friends and we ordered 2 poutines- classic and nachos. We wanted to use washroom so badly at that time. When we asked the person who was working that day he said it’s closed. My question is we are your customers, we are ordering food… how come you did not have key to open the washroom? Dine in is closed that does not mean you keep washrooms closed as well. Owner of that store- I hope you are reading!
Our Veggie Deluxe Poutine was loaded with caramelized onions, grilled mushrooms, and green peas. The bacon cheeseburger Poutine tasted so good. The service was fast and friendly. Couldn’t have asked for more. Highly recommended.
Not sure where all these good reviews are coming from but the poutine itself was frozen and just preheated including the meat. Def not worth it. We got better food at home
First time so I asked if the gravy was made from scratch or a mix. The staff member didn't understand. Said they had chicken or beef. I said I had allergies and that's why I was asking. Said everything was fried together. Gave up. Ordered perogies no bacon. Got them with bacon. Took them back. Same ones, no longer crispy from the fryer. Now soggy like the bacon was washed off. And plain potato perogies, no cheese. I should have asked but I'm sure he wouldn't understand.
We go to this place all of the time. The Veggie Deluxe and Chicken inferno poutines are our favourites. We have ordered these a few times and they always do it right! The owners were there that day and webmet them. They gave us some free sambal sauce for extra spiciness. It was awesome!
If you want to treat yourself to the most delicious concoction of fries, gravy, and cheese curds, then this is the place for you. I highly recommend a visit for the friendliest yet swift service in town.
We had been to Ontario and wanted to have something delicious and wholesome. Visiting Smokes Poutinerie had been the best decision. The shawarma and butter chicken poutine were absolutely phenomenal! Came with a very generous serve of fries and salad, which was great! Give it a try if you are around!
The most astronomically overpriced poutine I’ve ever had. Paid $19 for a “large” poutine that would be a medium and $7 at any chip truck. On top of that, chip truck fries are WAY fresher. The fries here were grainy like the frozen fries you heat up in the oven. Please don’t waste your money here, I sure won’t be again
We had the chipotle pulled pork poutine, bacon poutine, cheeseburger poutine & a mushroom with carnelized onion one. We got mostly the regular sized ones but they are really filling and could be shared by 2 people. The smallest one would be enough for one person. Highly recommended.
There was a guy working there. I guess his name is Kunal. He was very polite and kind to ask whatever modifications I needed for my Poutinerie. The portions he prepared were huge and delicious. I suggest if you ever get a chance to visit barrie then buy their Poutinerie (one of the best I've ever had) and eat it while sitting at barrie lake.
IF I COULD GIVE IT ZERO I WOULD! My partner was eating her poutine and found a booger with nose hairs still attached! I needed to pull over to let her puke out what she already ate, I threw mine out I was completely turned off from what we saw
We visited here last week and ordered a veggie poutine with fried cauliflower, sriracha and buffalo ranch. The cauliflower was yummy, but the rest of it was horrible. The fries were clearly old and dry, the gravy wasnt enough and the cheese curds were chewy. I love poutine, and I was really disappointed
Sad. When we arrived there was no one behind the counter, we yelled hello to see if anyone was there, a employee came from the back to serve us. After taking our order, without washing their hands at any point or wearing gloves, or a face mask, they made our two poutines. Turns out they were out of 50% of the stuff in both of our orders and put extra sauce on them, which would have been fine if the sauces weren't clumpy and off, especially the gravy it was still gelatines and the fries were still frozen in the middle when we got them. Overall this use to be one of our favorite places to go, i think over the past 2 summers the cleanliness, management/ staff and supply has been really off.could just be every time i go, but it didn't use to be this way.
We had the worst poutines from here last night. Very dry, with little gravy. There were very little curds as well, even when 2 orders with extra curds. You used to have the best poutines, but not any more! Very disappointed!
Been recommended eating hear by a number of people. Tried them for my first time today, of course had no idea what the menu was but the guy helping me was patient, and even recommended this amazing chicken and bacon poutine. I loved it. Everyone should visit here at least once!
I used to love this place, but the last couple times we ordered through Skip the Dishes it was always wrong. Minor things, so we mostly brushed it off. Today we ordered again, two vegetarian poutines with cheese sauce and guacamole.
The poutines came with just cheese sauce. When we called about it, the person on the other end was dismissive and sounded annoyed and told us they didn't have guacamole and didn't know why it was on there. When we noted that we had paid extra for it, he told us to take it up with Skip the Dishes.
I get that there's a good possibility that this has been an ongoing problem caused by Skip listing guacamole that isn't available, but if we're paying for an extra item I would hope for someone to contact us so we can pick another topping or a different poutine. I actually really love your poutines to be honest but I'm not going to keep ordering if I'm repeatedly disappointed.
Its 8: 38pm, i came here at 8: 25pm.staff is inside store and they are not opening, i call you 2 times not even respond the call. At least don't waste time of other. Very poor staff and service.
These are; "The Best Poutines I Have Ever Had! ". Without any sarcasm, this poutinery is soo darn delicious, 'it' might be the tastiest fast-food restaurant joint, on the entire Dunlop 'strip', and has no sign of slowing down (as the best food on the 'strip') anytime soon. The staff are always content and stay awesome! And with the added selection of Poutines and a quaint place to sit and wait, the experience is always incredible! My favourite; The 'Taco (styled) Poutine': Fries with gravy (& cheese curds) with all the workings of a taco!
It is a little downtown poutine restaurant. It isn't fancy, fine dining and doesn't claim to be. I don't know what more I could expect of a little hole in the wall that serves my favourite guilty pleasure, and its for this reason I gave it the highest rating. The variety on their menu is fun, portions are huge (cannot finish on my own), and the staff have always been very pleasant.
I just went in there to pick up a quick treat for the fam and I was not only impressed by the speed of the service, but also the quality. Sorosh wasn't too busy to ask about my day or comment that the weather was warmer and it made me feel like, "Yeah, this beats ordering delivery because guys like this are working hard dealing with salty peeps. " Definitely recommend this place and I hope that the staff is always this awesome.
Order off of uber eats wanted the pull pork poutine they did not give it to me they just add extra sausage and bacon. They should of called me back I would of changed the order
This Poutine is quite good! Better than average Poutine! The food is diverse with all types of Poutine! But the price is too expensive for what you get! I ordered an original Poutine and it cost an arm and leg! The place is hot with out ac and pretty smelly!
This place is grimmy with fruit flies everywhere. The fryer oil needed to be changed so the fries were dark and also over cooked. They broke in half when the fork stuck into them. I didnt even finish it and threw it out. What a waste of money. Other locations are much better.
