Sobeys Alcona Beach

It’s always pleasant going shopping here. Staff are all amazing and cakes are so fresh and good. Today I picked up my daughters 12th birthday cake and it’s always good but it was made by someone with some extra love. It was beyond delicious. It was strawberry shortcake with real whipped cream and the strawberry and cream in the middle too. SO fresh and light and just oh so good! Thank you.

Have been going for years and the cashiers never disappoint. Many of them are generally younger and it is so refreshing to see such politeness each time we check out. They are so friendly with each customer.
The only thing are the high prices, but that is a given with many Sobeys locations.

A young man named Austin was my cashier this evening. He is very polite, packed my paper bag very well and had a great smile the entire time. Thanks Ausitn for the great service

This is my local grocery store. It's always clean and well stocked. A bit pricier than the local no frills but that is to be expected. The meat and produce are nice and fresh. They also sell alcohol which is very convenient to have a one stop shop of groceries and alcohol. I don't replace it for no frills but rather use both for its strengths.

I feel very sad with the customer service I received recently at this Sobey's location, my family has been coming here for 10+ years. The last few times we have shopped here we've witnessed poor customer service and unprofessionalism from some of the staff, especially Brianna. Sobey's HR should look more carefully at who they choose to have representing the brand.: (

I frequent this grocery store solely for convenience (I live close by). I find the store is poorly kept; shelves aren't faced properly
It's disorganized and the produce is often messy. I prefer the sobeys in barrie off mapleview

I usually wouldn't review an entire store off of their hot plate but my God these were the worst chicken fingers I've ever had, and I've had hospital chicken fingers before.

I have been shopping with Sobeys since I've moved back up here. Barries South End Sobeys I shopped at around 23 years ago when it was first built, I lived in Ivy at that time. I love the staff oh, managers, customer service reps. Everybody gets along from what I can see oh, there's couple of staff members that are special too. There is No Frills here in Alcona but I honestly from my heart, prefer Sobeys not only for the people that helps run the store but I like the choices of International Foods oh, and having the Bakery, Deli, Flower shop and Alcohol if you want oh, along with the Pharmacy if needed. It's a complete One Stop Shop, besides not selling clothes. LOL I will always be giving positive reviews when it comes to Sobeys. Bad place for fruits and berries. Its just unbelivable. Always rotten and moldy berries and a lot of fruits.

This Sobeys is my go-to location and I thoroughly enjoy it! The produce is always fresh and the variety is superb. They offer a wide range of food products and the location is clean. The staff are helpful as well. Will come again and again!

Absolutely love this store! Great staff!
Would be a five star if only the paper bags didn’t fall apart every time. I’ve broken so many jars because of their paper bags just from carrying it to the car into the house. Would recommend bringing your own if shopping here.

Great location that had everything we needed and more (like wine!) The shelves were well-stocked, the store was clean, the prices were very competitive, and the staff was very friendly. Two thumbs up from me!

Always a clean, fresh produce, great selection of meats, staff always helpful. When I asked which isle the Premium Plus Crackers were in, she went to put down her arm full of items she was dealing with to personally show me instead of just telling me the isle #. I made sure to tell her the # was OK.

Get your vegetables and bread. Don't forget your beer and wine on the way out. Prices are higher than at no frills, but the experience is priceless.

First time here service was lackluster and not a great variety like the one in Aurora.
Will go again as location is ideal and it was clean. Protocols not as much as Aurora and Oakridges

Their produce and product selection are top notch, good organic availability too. Biggest down side is the price of stuff, I feel that prices of name brand products shouldn't vary from store chain to store chain, and yet they are priced higher at Sobey's. Other than the generally highish prices, I think it's the best grocery store chain location in Alcona.

The staff at this location are very nice. The store is typically very clean. You just really need to check expiration dates especially in the meat department. I went to buy bacon by a particular brand and all of the ones on the shelf had expired on July 19 or July 20 2021. I now check all the dates on meat because I’ve bought expired pork shoulders and chicken thighs at full price without realizing until I got home. Highly disappointing for the cost we pay in store.

Sobey's is a great place. They are certainly a little bit pricey, but I like that they seem to have everything. But I sure wouldn't be shopping if I was raising a young family.

Being a senior we can get there early in the morning and the store is so clean it is very nice and we feel very safe

I just went to buy grocery the bags horrible they ripe in my driveway and the Caesar salad so bad.last time the mangos were so bad I thing if the Sobey is so famous they should provide better quality. Next time ill go to nofrills better they have better bags and better quality is not about the name is quality

Just so it's clear, the customers who refuse to take a shopping cart have every right to do so. And by refusing to do this simple harmless task, that the employees ASK you to do (they never force you, or refuse you service if you are careless enough to ignorantly refuse a cart just because you don't like being asked what to do), then you are potentially actively endangering yourself and others by ignoring a procedure that is in place to make sure the store does not get over crowded. They use the carts to count the number of customers in the store, and make sure the amount does not exceed a quantity that will crowd people together and increase the risk of spreading a deadly virus that has riddled millions of people across the entire globe. Despite what some stubborn, disgruntled people might try to tell you, the front end employees clean EVERY SINGLE cart immediately after it is used, and will even refuse you an un-cleaned cart for your own safety. They take this particular job very seriously.
It's sad that certain people need this to be explained to them, and some still refuse a cart and ridicule the employees and/or systems that are in place. And why? Because they are 'too important' and self righteous to even follow logic if it is being presented to them by another human being?

My favorite grocery store in Alcona, throughout the duration of covid up until December they continue with their procedures to keep precautions for their staff and customers, carts are always santized, the selection is always great and the staff are always kind.

This Sobeys is just like any other but with a very poor selection of vegetables and fruits. The produce section was leaking water from the tubes that spray to keep the vegetables moist. However their staff is very friendly.

Always my favorite store to shop staff are freindly in the late evening and always remember who u are and always smiling which is nice to see, definitly a pleasant break from all the chaos these days to the sobeys evening staff keep up the great work it definitly doesn't go unnoticed?

I am from out of town so I didn’t know they had different rules here. So we get to the front of the lineup outside, the employee pushes a cart in front of us (that some guy just used) and says you can go in. (Didn’t even clean the cart) We didn’t need a cart, so we walked past it. We’re in the produce section and some random lady comes by and says you should have taken the cart because that’s how they know their numbers. Just letting you know. You know I’m just letting you know. And she said it quite loud like she thought she was the cart police. Lol. We were just caught off guard so we didn’t react at all because it would have caused a stir. Maybe Sobey’s should hire her to be the new cart police. She would be excellent at her job. Karen the cart sheriff of Alcona.

Clean, organized, and staff are helpful and friendly.

Fairly noticable price difference on some items compared to other grocery stores. Best to limit purchases to necessities to keep overall costs low.

Fix / train your supply and ordering (Manager). You're always out of Villaggio Sesame seed bread and the 10% cream looked like it was raided by baboons.

Also have someone check ALL of your pet products for expired items. I noticed many expired dog treats.

Always friendly staff, Innisfil is full of nice people. Can be expensive but deals are to be had and its quality food.

Went to this Sobeys location (Alcona) on Tuesday. While standing in line I observed the young girl "sanitizing" carts. As a customer would leave and surrender their cart she took a cloth and wiped the handle and handed the cart to the next person in line to use. I watched this occur over 10 times. That cart was not sanitized in a proper manner! The cloth was not changed while I was there nor was anything sprayed on it. So she just spread the potential virus from one cart to another. How is that proper sanitizing? Needless to say I refused a cart. Will no longer shop there.

Good variety of groceries, good seafood. Also a little selection of alcohol if u need to grab beers or wine quickly

I've been shopping here for 10 years. I like the managers, they are very helpful when it comes to asking questions. Customer service counter, great service as well. The prices are great, of course you got to keep watch with the Flyers and deals. But most of all, I Cannot say anything more positive when it comes to the Pharmacy! They have gone above and beyond when it comes to my prescriptions and answering any medical question that I have. Nothing like a home feeling when you go shopping, and everybody in the store is smiling who works here, and are ready to help oh, and please each customer. Don't Go Changing anyting! Keep doing what you guys do Sobeys Alcona, you put the sunshine in my day, even when it's raining.

Nice store.clean, and good cleaning and disinfecting policy in place. This is the first time in 4 months I haven't felt stressed out grocery shopping. Unfortunately, you do pay for that.

I like Sobeys they are just to expensive for my taste. Top quality produce and meats. I go because they have certain products that for me that are hard to find.

Seems to be always open, has a decent selection. Not my first choice, but very happy it's there when everything else is closed

Shelves are bare but necessities are there. Deli counter is closed but they have cold meats they've packaged for us during this pandemic. Paper bags in place of plastic at checkout

Went for chicken wings and there were none. I wanted a nancho dip and there was none. So I was not happy.

This is an excellent Sobey's. The store has always been clean and stocked every time I have been in. The higher prices in this store are a reflection of their longer hours, and other amenities, (full service deli counter, bakery, butcher etc.) as compared to other lower cost grocery stores in the area.

Recently, we ordered a birthday cake from the bakery for a kids party. Not only did the cake look great, it was delicious! Fresh, moist and perfectly made. Kudos to the bakery department.

I'm normally opposed to shopping at Sobey's, but this place has changed that in me. It has a great selection, a hot food section, sells alcohol, etc. They get large amounts of business from High-school students, which will be apparent if you shop here (especially around noon). The students seem to respect this place though, and don't cause a ruckus (Unlike the local Timmies!) There's generous parking and that's never been an issue for me. The staff are fairly friendly, and I occasionally see people I know working there through the years. Can't think of any reasons to complain here, their prices are fairly decent too.

We come here often, not just for weekly groceries but also because its closer than the beer or liquor store. So I'd say about 4 days a week. Every brand of beer seems to always be stocked, except the ones I buy. After a few conversations with other locals, it turns out there are many of us who come here to get Busch king cans and end up leaving with something else because ITS NEVER ON THE SHELF. Or there's just one. Please fix this. Thank you

This store is usually toured by their headoffice so always expect to find it in great shape and carrying very fresh groceries.

ATypical grocerey store. Always clean well stocked. What i dont like is the selfserve checkouts. If i use them i should get all items discounted. Im doing all the work right? I think they obviously deprive people of jobs and increse stores profits. Im all for making money but not putting people out of work.

If you want a quick "in and out" experience then this is not the place for you!
With the implementation of self checkouts I find myself waiting in line to be served. I recently directed from one of the clerks to proceed to the service desk with my purchases however I was met with disdain and told there was a limit of items for check out at that cash. First off I commend the clerk that directed me over in the first place; that is customer service and should be the standard! If

Rude cashier just because I didn’t want one of the items I had put in my cart and changed my mind. What’s the big deal and what’s with the bad attitude for doing something so simple? Should of just left the item on a shelf somewhere in the store rather than deal with a rude cashier and I’ll do just that next time.
