During COVID they had many safety measures.
Just bought a fresh loaf of French bread. It was moldy, according to the person about to eat it.

One of the better grocery stores in London, Ontario. I hadn't been to this location before but was pleasantly surprised by their produce section, their bakery, and their selection of Natural/Health and Organic product offerings. Thanks!

The "extra" is short for "extra difficult to find things". Relatively speaking, it's not a large grocery store compared to others on the west end, but I find their stock limited. To top it off, it's nearly impossible to find what you're looking for unless you shop there regularly. I've gone a few times, struggled to find what I was looking for, only to find that even a staff member couldn't help me find it either.

Pair this with higher than average prices, and the reasons to shop here are minimal.

We regularly shop here, because the ambiance is soothing and unhurried, the staff are wonderful, they have a good selection of gluten free food, and the products top notch. We were there a week or so ago to buy steak that was on special. They were out. The clerk told us we could call ahead and ask to have some put aside next time. Husband was sceptical, but this week we called, and they had our steaks as promised. Great job, Sobeys!

Pretty significant mark up. I often find the meat and produce I buy do not stay fresh. Literally the next day or two after purchase, they’re bad.

Buying in Sobeys for first time, as I was recommended for good quality, organic products. It turned to be the the most horrible shopping experience of my life. Extremely rude customer service. I was dictated to which counter to go, they sent me to the smallest cashier with a full cart of groceries. Expensive, organic fruits falling to the floor, and the employee do not even care. She was upset because too much products at the counter? Probably. Extremely rude, incompetent, and uneducated person. This is the kind of people that work at Sobeys. It is not the customer’s fault that they have to work for the minimum wages. They lost a customer that expend 500 dollars weekly in organic products. When you can afford that sort of money, you are at least, expecting a “hello” and a “thank you”, maybe, a “sorry” that I dropped your berries to the floor. Now, I get organic products delivered at my door, from another company that align more with my European standards.

I've I been shopping there for years since it opened.
I was there this morning picking up a few items. I had decided to pay cash as I have done many times. I had extra coins with some bills. The cashier hesitated accepting my coins, in fact she wouldn't take them. So I gave my her my bills. I then asked again about the coins. It's legal tender. I still needed to buy my bus tickets. She called the manager on duty. He claimed that it's company policy not to take them. He was very abrupt. In that case, put a sign up so customers don't get frustrated and aggravated. The atmosphere is like walking on eggs lately and we lost our pharmacy. I'm not shopping there anymore. It's not the staff, it's management it's just uncaring.

A great place to shop. Clean well lit interior. A bit pricier than other grocery stores. Sad that the pharmacy is closing down at this location.

Staff are super helpful and nice. Got my second covid shot here as well. Also great place to get your meds. Pharmacists are quick and efficient.

Great selection of food and they don't use plastic bags which is great for the environment! Prices are a bit higher but store is clean and staff are friendly and helpful

Went to get flowers they have a great selection and the girl was very helpful flowers still look great 7 days later

Nice selection, especially for dietary restrictions. However, the store layout is chaotic and it is hard to find what you want.

Did have some great experiences there but last one really left a sour taste. Made a trip over to sobeys specifically as I passed four other grocery stores on the way. I went to the meat counter that was deserted of employees and customers, and after finding the meat employee asked if they had any of the product I came for. Three times now they haven’t had it immediately handy but I had no problem waiting 15 mins or longer while I shop if they are busy. One girl did it right there (the original employee who told me this is no big deal) and it took her less than five mins to make 15. So my request last night (3 hrs to closing) was that even though there’s no customers around and it’s sobeys “extra” he just “didn’t have the man power to help me out. I explained that I’ve had it done before, by numerous employees no problem and that I made a trip out to sobeys specially and this was the dinner plan. So the next excuse is that is that’s something that has to be ordered typically. It literally never has been. So being a little annoyed at this guy laziness I went to ask customer service why they have the employees there if they don’t help customers. They thought it sounded ridiculous as well. So, they asked the manager who said they would call the meat dept.this time the employee said oh all that product is frozen. It’s a fresh meat product, and I even ensured they had the required ingredients before asking …. Needless to say the lying lazy employee and wasted trip out left a pretty lasting negative impression. There are multiple closer/cheaper grocery stores near by. As a former sobeys employee, even though it was the other location, customer satisfaction was always paramount. It’s too bad it doesn’t seem to be now, especially at a sobeys “extra”.

Sales start Wednesday out of everything I went for on Saturday. Always happens there. Not everyone can get to the grocery store on weekdays. Very disappointing.

Clean, many upscale specialty foods, a bit expensive for me.but excellent quality.
Counter attendants were knowledgeable and helpful.

The worst store I've ever been in. I've never encountered such rude staff I tripped over an empty skid and nobody would bring me some paper towels or a bandaid I'll never go back

This grocery store is doing it right. I don't know if all Sobeys are this way but everything is just well organized and right where it should be.

I mean nothing wrong with the food here, but staff is extremely rude and unqualified.

Security and management should be changed.

Got home and asked why the bag of mini potatoes was leaking first on the floor then continued into the sink. Placing my nose near one of the small holes in the bag bordered on whiplash. Into the garbage and out the door it went.

This place gets two stars only because it is nice to walk through they do have a good selection of food and the produce is pretty fresh but everything is so expensive that it doesn't even make sense. For example a 1 liter thingy of juice that costs a dollar 49 regularly at other grocery stores was on sale for $1.99 from 2.99 at Sobeys. I only go there if I'm to late for Metro and I only go to Metro if I'm really lazy and don't want to go all the way to a cheaper place

Cashier tried to make me feel guilty about bringing a plastic bag in for my groceries. I reuse bags many times because they have handles and allow me to carry my groceries at a level that doesnt aggravate an injury. Felt uncomfortable, not sure I will return. Spend my money at different store.

Most things are priced a bit >, but the deli was nice picked up fried chicken for 15$ and chicken strips for 11$ they were both marked down, worthed!

I love buying my fish from their seafood market//it's been so hard to find good seafood at good prices during covid

Very clean, short lines and excellent pandemic protocols in place. They have a wonderful selection of harder to find ingredients and niche products. Also the only place you can buy Incredible burger, which I was very pleasantly surprised by in both burgers and nachos!

Great store. Truly in the "Extra" category. Lots of parking. Pleasant, helpful staff.

One stop shopping at Sobeys Extra.

I really like the people who work at this location. One small thing to be aware of. Some veggies are in zipped plastic bags open to the water spray. This water adds to the veggies weight. I found a bag of brussel sprouts with water in it and asked the cashier to pour the water out. The price went down 50 cents for the package. I am sure this was not intentional but do check so you aren't paying for extremely e pensive water.

Excellent shopping. Name brands and other brands as well. Very clean store and staff are very helpful.

Great place to shop. Not too busy most of the time. Good selections, great staff. My only complaint is the international section is pretty lacking.

Bought a whole beef tenderloin today on sale. I asked the young gentleman at the meat counter if they could cut it into three roasts for me. I was told they were "too busy" and couldn't accomodate my request. He had not served anyone 5 minutes prior or 5 minutes + after my request. I did not see him busily doing anything. It must have been a different employee that did accomodate the exact same request yesterday for a friend at the same store. It is the difference between a good customer experience and a bad customer experience. The 3 star rating is because they were properly staffed at the checkout where I had a good experience.

This is regarding the pharmacy. I switched to Sobeys from another pharmacy because of a benefits change, and I just wanted to say my first impression was great! The staff pharmacist Melissa was super friendly and efficient. I was immediately reassured that my needs would be taken care of. Great job!

Not bad. I personally just went for a birthday card but couldn't find where they were so a employee helped me without question. Extremely nice I'd definitely recommend.

The experience was amazing because I found products that were childhood favorites for family members that literally became the best part of their Christmas gift. I found fantastic sock shoes that have changed my world. But if that wasn't enough, I was served by Kalen C who was absolutely phenomenal. The customer service was superb, the positive upbeat attitude was fantastic, and the level of efficiency was commendable. Overall, I was happy to have ended up there that night.

They always have everything in stock, staff are always friendly and helpful, and quality of products is excellent. Have switched permanently from Loblaws.

The one disappointment i had here was arriving by taxi at 11pm and they werent allowibv beer sales.going here for groceries has been advantageous.they dont have as many savibgs opportunities as say food basics but the quality is higher of the displays and they have an expanded marketplace and i think a coffee shop on your way out.i ESPECIALKY like the grab and go snadwuches at the front of the store as i have been hubgry here before and their turkey wrap is 5-star.they have a florist too and specialty cereals
