Great location to have veggie burger with Beer. Outside view is so appealing and even more beautiful in snow. It was quick service, around 6-8 minutes I get my order. Employees are super respectful, had a great customer service too.

I ordered a double cheese veggie burger which was pretty good. Staff were courteous and friendly. Overall a good experience.

Best burgers in town! I tried French fries its so delicious! Mouth watering taste with good service.

Bad service. African lady took off her hat trying to argue with me when I told her my fries were cooked and they were not.

The burger was burned. The food was poor to fair. The bill was over $30 for burger and fries.

When to South Street Burger with the family. There was nothing really special about the burgers other than all the toppings.

Delicious food and great service just a lil slow but they were pretty busy today. Popular place!

Quality went downhill. Staff don't change gloves when handling money or cash register, grabs their phone in the back while cooking the burger. No understanding of hygiene.

The burgers were literally raw and severely undercooked. If I hadn't taken them to go and gone to the Office I would have gone back in and gotten rather upset.

This is completely unacceptable and look forward to hearing from the owner. I have never given a bad review because I don't believe in doing so over poor service if an employee is just having a rough day but this goes beyond and is just disgusting.

I visited this store yesterday and ordered two burgers to go.the lady with red hairs was so rude and our order took 35min for two burgers and when i ordered root beer Instead of that she gave me ice tea.on the other hand the lady was continuously using her phone and was not changing her gloves and rapping the burgers and when I opened my order at home one burger was without patty. This was really annoying

Poor Management services Mina yells at her employees, also I notice that she was in charge of the cooking and she didn't change her gloves after handle other things before start cooking again.this place has poor cleaning, the quality of the food has been decreased, nothing compare like 2 years ago.the fried fries were burned and the gravie disgusting.it wasnt fresh fried it were frozen as the for the patties.by the way it was too expensive for a combo almost $30 for a combo that could be way better ams cheaper in other places.

Good selection of toppings and the burger was tasty. Portion sizes on the other hand were a bit lacking.

This meal was almost $22. I had the True North burger and a large order of onion rings. The onion rings are hard and crunchy with too little onion. The burger was meh. Also had a strawberry milkshake which failed to live up to its promise, only had a slight strawberry flavor. I won't be eating here again.

They had me at “we don’t do drive-thrus’ on the poster as you come in the entrance. From the moment I saw that sign, I was reassured that although I was having a burger, which is, of course, ever so synonymous with fast food, My 5oz angus Canadian Burger was not a made to rush burger. In fact, it was a pretty close to a made to order burger.

From what I gathered, at South St. Burger, they have enough burgers delivered from the main headquarters in the Big Smoke trucked in for a five-day period thus preserving their motto ‘never frozen’. The franchise personnel are well aware of how long the burgers can keep in the refrigerator before an expiration date sets in.

To my delight, the burger came as advertised. There was definitely a freshness to it. A good thick 5 oz.burger took the time you would expect – about ten minutes on the grill, for it to be well done. The wide assortment of toppings all looked very fresh. None of that processed cheese! The burger was kind of reminiscent of what I remember of having at home growing up when mom would make burgers from scratch. As for beverages, they had Boylan’s black cherry soda on offer as well, one of my fav’s. As far as a side dish, the onion rings had just the right amount of crispiness that I like.

As in many dine ins, free wifi is offered. They further this offer, which is becoming more and more commonplace and, of course, is a very good public relations gesture of asking for your birthday as to extend a burger offering on your special day.

Had an overall good experience here last night. This was my first time at South St. Burger. I had a BOGO burger coupon for my birthday (Thanks!). I like all the topping options!

Came here for fries and onion rings and it was seriously disappointing. They refried everything and took 10 minutes when nobody was in there. We tried a few and instantly threw them out. Never coming back again. Disgusting food.

We went in for our birthday burger. I have to say that the burgers were both delicious. The taste was fabulous. However, the fries unfortunately were over cooked. I ate them mine but my wife didn’t eat hers. The restaurant needs some TLC. The floors and the tables were a little sticky. Still I know we will most likely return.

Burger was good. Made a meas of it before giving it to me though. I ordered fries and when eating i found a hair. Also nobody is wearing hairnets

My wife and I stopped in to get burgers in the evening. First and last time. The burgers were actually not bad but the cleanliness of the tables and floor was disgusting. I should have realized that before venturing into the washroom which took disgusting to the next level!

First time writing a review in years… and that says something. The individual taking my order priced all the items individually and got upset when I asked why it wasn’t placed in a combo (after paying). He said I have to tel them it’s a combo and they wouldn’t refund me due to “no manager” being present.after being persistent, they scrapped up change and paid me (from who knows where). The meal for two people was $44…. Two basic burgers with milkshakes. YIKES. Filthy, wilted toppings, and rude management. Don’t come here

I have been here once and never again! I went in and I ordered a Mountain Dew along with a chicken burger and fries. The burger and the fries were good. HOWEVER, there were numerous bugs in my drink! I realized when I was about to take a sip and I saw something moving down my straw. I took the straw out and I saw multiple bugs in the drink! I did not cause a scene and I just went back inside and told them about the bugs. The worker rudely dismissed it and rolled his eyes at me as if it were nothing and just gave me another drink. I feel that this is something that is not small and I fear for anyone else who may have not even noticed those bugs as I pay close attention to my food. What is even more alarming is the lack of care by the worker as if this is something that happens regularly. Disgusting experience and I will not be going back to this establishment.

Toppings on burgers were wilting. Fries were mostly black rotten parts of potatoes and the onion rings were thick and uncooked. Toilets seats in washroom broken with urine all over them.

This place needs a health inspector to come in and shut it down.

South st burgers use to be good but this particular one is really bad. They gave me uncooked raw meat patty. Their toppings are not fresh. Found tomatoes were really old. I guess their sales have gone down during this pandemic and they really lost their quality. Wouldn’t go there again.

Terrible. Messed up our order and then the burgers burnt and dry, the fries weren't cooked enough and the gravy was still cold not even warm for the poutine. Never coming back here again.

What a terrible place! Avoid or get food you overpaid for cold and mushy. Ordered 2 burgers one on a lettuce bun, fries, poutine and a milkshake. Our burgers were done first, almost right away with the milk shake then sat there while we waited 15 more minutes for fries and poutine. When we finally approached to ask why our food was sitting on a cold counter and where the fries were they were very rude to us. We could then see our fries sitting beside the grill. She said to the other employee as he was about to remake the cold fries, and I quote "just put the gravy on top, it will heat the fries up again. " So he did just that which turned my poutine into a soup. They bagged up our cold food and gave it to us after we asked to have the milkshake remade as it was room temperature by then. When we finally got home to eat it everything was a cold, mushy, wilted lettuce bun, poutine soup pile of wasted money. The whole order should have been remade and they knew it but instead were rude to us as if we were in the kitchen not making our own food. Never again will I spend money on this trash.

This restaurant is not clean. No tiles and floor’s surface very sticky. Doesn’t feel good to order food with such location.

Service was polite, although it took awhile to prepare the food. The burger was pretty good, but the chicken sandwich was not great

They were still pretty hopping around 1: 40 when I got in line. I ordered a BBQ burger for me, and a poutine for my friend who had her covid shot scheduled for 2: 20.

After waiting a solid 10 minutes and still being in a decent line I asked the girl working the register if I could just get the poutine out ASAP so my friend could eat before she went in and they happily obliged.

I ate the rest of my meal in the car and I gotta say, really solid burger and some top notch fries for sure. My only suggestion is if you're thinking of getting the cheese sauce go for the gravy instead, it's still good, but it's got a bit of sweetness that's a bit off for fries.

This used to be a favourite. Sad to see it go downhill. All the good specialty burgers are off the menu, the best toppings no longer available. My LAST burger was dried out, salty and was reheated on the grill, not fresh. Can't say for sure but the fries seem to have gotten smaller. Everything in the place is sticky and I've never seen anyone cleaning tables.

Ridiculously overpriced. 15-16 bucks for a burger combo. The burger is decent (but not anything special), and the fries were soft and very little. Stingy on the beverage too. At this price, you're better off getting one of the premium burger combos at McDonalds in Walmart. Service is extremely slow as well.

I was going to my absolute FAVOURITE fast food restaurant tonight hoping to get out of the blistering heat and humidity from outside just for a few minutes before I had to go back out to wait for my order to be ready. But when I walked past the last door in entering the restaurant I got hit with what felt like 30 degrees of heat, I swear it was colder outside than inside which is what it shouldn’t be. I can’t imagine how the employees feel working in those kind of temperature conditions when I already got that hot walking through the door. From only being in there for roughly 2 or 3 minutes placing my order I walked out sweating profusely. I feel horrible for the employees for having to work in that heat, especially when grill produces more heat which makes it worse. As much as I love going to grab food after a long day of work the restaurant should NOT be open until the temperature in that place is under control.

Probably one of the worst burgers I've had. Floating in grease, bun was completely soaked, not to mention it was totally overpriced. Staff was very unprofessional as well. Would not recommend this place at all.

A fast food burger for the price of a gourmet burger. For the $20 a combo will cost you, there are soooo many better options out there.

Went there today and ordered a South St. Bacon & Cheese burger, fries and drink. Came to $17 and change. Ridiculous prices! Fries were dried out, tasted like they were already cooked up earlier in the day and thrown in deep fryer again.
Burger mediocre and they said they were out of diet Pepsi and don't have any other sugar free beverages to offer. Save some coin and go to Harvey's instead.

The employees were more worried about talking amongst them selves than actually making my food.i was the only customer and still needed to wait 15 min for two burgers.definetly won't be recommending this place to anyone

The price, quantity, and quality of the food here are all superb! I've never had my order made incorrectly and it is always hot and fresh!

I had the Southern fried chicken burger and with the first bite itself I was in heaven! And my friend had the BBQ bacon burger and that was so moist and juicy!
Their burgers won't disappoint you. They were huge, juicy and cooked to perfection! The sauces went very well with each other! We both were in food coma after we were finished!

Highly recommended, the fries are delicious only natural flavour.

Very rude staff not even greeted and waste of time there where 4 people working i just went to pick up order and waited 15 minutes in front of that staff i was so made because it’s not my fault that i am deaf soo mean staff

I had the mushroom and swiss as my gf raves about this place and I gave in and said ok. It was so bland. Suspsoe to come with garlic sauce. Maybe thats what was missing. Next time I want a burger ill just go to Wendy's.

Me and my husband used to eat here once a week. Loved this place: quality meat nice taste great selection of topping. Also option for 4 or 6 oz patty depending on how hungry you are. The price used to be ok considering all these factors.
Now it’s only 5 oz patty. Less selection for toppings. Burnt bacon and dry patty.
Every now I than we would give this place a shot, but seeing the bill takes our apatite away.
I wish it would be like the good old times!

First time going in here. Thought I’d try something new for lunch. I don’t know the name of the guy who helped me, but he is amazing! I ordered the true north and originally asked for chicken.he suggested the beef. It was so delicious I went with that instead. Super friendly staff, quick and efficient. You can tell it’s a good place to work. Clean dining area as well. All in all, a great new experience for me!

Friendly staff, reasonable prices and excellent food! I really love the tomato salsa and anything you order has super fresh ingredients that will leave a lasting impression. Highly recommend this to burger fans

Burgers are fine, a very small 5oz pattie is what you get. I find the bun is a bit too bulky for that little pattie & overpowers the meat.
The fries on the other hand are good (fresh cut) but again I must stress that the fries are also an extremely small serving for that exorbitant price of $3.95! Both those items cost me $12.48 total & not that filling.

Now burning burgers seems the norm
Prices have gone up substantially
And they can't seem to get your order right, for example toppings are continually left off or incorrect, it use to be you could tell them what to put on, now its done at cash, and screw up keep happening over and over
This is a restaurant i live close to and my family and I frequent once a month for the past 4 years, not going back anymore.

The same day that i posted this review, i shared this info with South Street burger on the same email address as posted by the "owner", i gave time, place, order number, with receipt number and have not heard back.owner response is BOGUS!

I ate here with my father tonight. The food was good. I noticed that the employee taking orders was too busy to get drinks and that the servers were run ragged. Seems understaffed. Good food but 25 minutes to get two burgers is a bit long for fast food.

First time trying this place. My 10 year old was reluctant because he chooses to eat gluten free. First, they had gluten free bun option. Second, my son's words " the best hamburger bun I have ever had - Best burger ever"
He had the true north.

Absolutely loved their burgers. They also have halal options available. A must go place for the burger lovers.

Had some really great experiences and some only OK.

Burgers are great and the selection of drinks is amazing! The Boyland’s Black Cherry Soda is a personal favourite of mine. I bought 3 last time I was there to take home.

The True North, Pulled Pork and Bacon & Cheese are my favourites.

Toppings at the register is a sometimes little chaotic. The last time I was behind a small group and they ordered so much food to go. Like 6 burgers. Then having to go through all their choices and be read back each burger for accuracy annoyed me.

I also feel if I want to change my mind or add another item and that seems like a no no with the staff. I asked to add pickles and it seemed like the end of the world from the look the Indian lady gave me.

For the price I should get whatever I want including sauce to go which always Seems like a big ask for some of the counter people.

Also staff shouldn’t wear headphones or AirPods when serving customers. It makes it feel like they are distracted or that we have to repeat ourselves. Kinda rude in a business environment.

Other then that Keep up the good work and I’ll keep buying your food

Used to love South Street. What I loved about it:
- The selection of toppings so I could customize my burger how I want it
- The price was good for the 4oz burger
- Consistently good food cooked right

Tonight I went and noticed they've changed everything. Now you have to say what toppings you want before you pay. People in front of us had the wrong toppings put on their burgers which caused a delay and grumpy employees. The prices have gone up and the burgers were all charred badly. The bacon was unrecognizable. We were not the only unhappy customers. Harvey's offers better burgers for a better price where you can customize it how you want it. So why would I pay $30+ for 2 at a fast food joint when I can pay $10 less at Harvey's for a much better experience and quality.

Food is good. Manager's behavior towards a new employee struggling to learn their new role was far less than desirable.

The Burger is very Messy as everthing keeps slinding out. Which is what happens in a packed burger. But it was very delicious.

Your basic convenient burger joint.always good for a quick bite.
Staff are friendly, place is clean and there's plenty of parking. On several bus routes.
Several burger options and several sizes/weights. If you like burgers, it's hard not find your choice here.

It was a damn tasty burger. I didn't order anything fancy but it didn't need to be because it tasted great. I ordered the "hand scooped" chocolate milkshake and was a little underwhelmed though. It was a good shake, but nothing great. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and will return for another burger for sure.

This was my first experience at South St burger and oh boy i wasn't disappointed. Great Burgers and Great service. Young people working hard with big smiles on. This place is a classic mix up of fast food and restaurant seating. The girl at cash was very helpful and the guy in manager shirt was very nice. He took time to explain us all toppings to my family and was very quick with the order. We will definitely visit again.

I go here all the time with a friend and we love it. Spacious location and friendly staff. Sometimes you have to wait a bit for a burger but at least you know it's fresh!

We all really like the food here. Everything seem fresh. The only thing I would mention is the last time we’re the there the beef patty seems a bit dry and over cooked than usual.

High prices for average food. Some times food was good. One time Ordered a veggie burger which was cold by the time I got it, ordered a burger to go which was missing the patty. The assistant manager was degrading to staff on several occasions, treating them badly in front to customers. If I ever decide I want to spend 15-20 dollars on a burger again I’ll go to a different location

This particular South St. Burger is pretty good. Well run by good workers. The location has ample seating and has always been clean when I've been there. This is my youngest's favourite place to go for a good gluten free bun burger. There is a patio outside, and two entrances.

We went there with a group of about 10 and the assistant manager was rude. He seemed annoyed that there was so many of us making separate orders. His tone with one of the girls was also very unprofessional. It was busy that night and he handled it poorly. My impression of him will make or break another trip back there. Very disappointed.

Good flavourful food, but when there 4 or 5 people ahead of you, the wait can easily be 20 minutes to get your food.

Walk in 8: 50pm- 4 people in front of me in line.
Cashier slowly takes the orders in front of me. Comes time for my order and she tells me they can’t make my food because they are closing soon.
This is my first experience and my last. I understand that businesses close and the staff want to leave.
Why do I wait 10 mins to be told I can’t be served?

Really delicious burger. The atmosphere felt a little fast foodish with hard chairs and very open tables along with a dressing bar much like Harvey's. There selection of gourmet burgers though was very good and the flame Brookline and fresh bacon were fantastic.

Good location and service. The ingredients are always fresh and well made, just not my favourite place for burgers. The meat itself is sometimes cooked to the point where it’s not juicy, it’s watery and it turns the entire burger into a soggy mess that drips down when you’re trying to eat. Other than that, good place to grab a quick bite

The burgers are great as are the milkshakes. The service is often terrible and poorly organized. Even a slight dinner rush means you are in for a huge wait.

Just An Update, I responded to the email below and I did not receive any contact from this establishment. It appears they do not care to follow up on what they state. I would not recommend visiting this establishment.

Food was OK but the service was terrible. Cashier took my order, not the most friendly person. Put half the toppings on my burger and left to go attend the cash register. Cook put my burger on the bun and it sat for 5 minutes before the cook had time to finish putting the toppings on my burger and rap it up. Also the fries had been sitting under the heat lamp for an extended period of time. They were out of dijon horseradish mayo and the ketchup dispenser was empty for fries. Not a great experience at all.

Excellent burger joint, absolutely fantastic product, my only qualm with them is that they don't have iceberg lettuce as an option. Romaine simply does not belong on a burger and anyone who says otherwise is just plain wrong! Go and check it out, it's a bit pricy, but you're getting every bit of what you pay for. And if you're a cheap-o well McDonald's is just across the parking lot.

Burger was just barely warm and very average. Fries werent fresh either the food in general was a solid 4/ 10 and not to mention the whole store was littered with garbage.
