South St. Burger

This chain used to be the burger go to joint. Competition has heated up and taste and service over time has deteriorated considerably since the arrival of new players like Five Guys that knocks them out of the ball park for overall taste. Now with the soon arrival of Shake Shack in Canada will make things more difficult for South Street Burger

I decided to try a burger from here since I’d never been and it was rated pretty well. I ordered one of their newer specialty burgers (Korean bbq) and was looking forward to it. Once I got home and opened the bag, I realized the burger didn’t look any different than a typical burger, and did not resemble any Korean bbq flavour at all. I’m not sure if they gave me the wrong burger but even so, I was not impressed by the quality of the patty and bun. I don’t think I’ll be returning.

Made the mistake of ordering the True North burger not realizing it no longer came with choice of toppings. Server was very rude when nicely questioned about it. Food Luke warm.

Burgers are good. Fries are excellent particularly the poutine. But very expensive.

Burgers here a tasty, but the real secret are the fries. They are fresh cut new York fries. Always get the combo, it's the best value!

South Street Burger Co.is a pretty good burger joint for those who appreciate quality ingredients, and being able to customize your burger. They have wide array of toppings and sauces allow for endless customization options. The sides, including crispy hand-cut fries and their new waffle cut fries are really great. Their fried chicken burger was good, not as crispy as I'd like for a fried chicken burger and it is overall more expensive compared to normal fast food joints, closer to almost $20 for a combo, but overall its a pretty good place it you want something better than your standard McDonalds, A&W, Wendys, etc.

Awful customer service. Owner/manager was yelling after he made my burger wrong. He was upset that I added too many ingredients! He kept saying it was my fault because I wanted too many items so the single onions ring got lost. It was so poorly made lacking, in taste and flavor. The older, short man was also very unfriendly when taking our order.

Besides the awful burgers and tepid fries, the owner was unapologetic and even downright argumentative! Please avoid this place!
