Extremely unprofessional clerks. I leave voicemails and they never return my calls. I booked an appointment 6 weeks in advance and showed up only to be told that the doctor changed his schedule. Nobody contacted me to rebook. When I go through withdrawals from my ADHD medication it affects my mental health exponentially, and they still don’t care. They offer no solutions. If it wasn’t so hard to find a family doctor I would change to a new one.

Absolutely the worst service!
The secretary has zero empathy and zero respect for the patients that are coming into the office.
I took an Uber with my son to the clinic at 11: 45 a.m, she took my son’s card and told me to come back at 3: 00. I came back at 2: 55, and had to wait another 3 hours. When I asked approximately how much longer, she refuses to tell you how much more of a wait will be before or even how many people may be in front of you, mind you my son is in pain with an ear infection. I will never come back to this clinic again. The service is absolutely horrible! Zero stars.

My experience with different offices in Canada have been nothing but fantastic, until I visted this clinic. Receptionist were rather rude. Also they should post it outside the door that they only accept cash. Overall waiting was too long. I had to wait for 6 hours before I could see the doctor.
I am not visiting this clinic again. If this is the case for all other clinics here as well, then it’s an alarming issue and needs attention.

I had a family doctor in the South Bank Medical Centre for 6 years, and if I ask for an appointment they will give you a very long time period, and even if you’re in pain they will not reduce the time period of your appointment, also my family doctor said if we go to a different clinic he will not be our family doctor anymore. And I waited for 5 hours many times. Sometimes I ask myself if I’m in a walking clinic or a hospital emergency section. And the people working there are rude. I have been in Canada for more than 25 years and I never experienced this type of clinic.

Horribly rude staff and doctor Khan always has urgency. Doctor would always rush things. If you can, stay away from this clinic. The Doctor isn't interested in your well being but just that the health card gets swiped

I visited this location for the first time with my newborn and was very disappointed. My newborn was born barely two weeks ago, and as I was registering was told by the receptionist that the temporary paper Ohip card I had was invalid, and to call Service Ontario, which was closed die to state holiday, to find out what the version number was. Lack of training clearly. I just went to another clinic and everything was fine with the temporary card.

Im embarrassed that I had to even come back to this place as a last resort since I’m in extreme pain. Receptionist is extremely rude, she rolled her eyes at me for a simple question that I asked. I’m surprise they still have Sue working here still considering her lack of customer service since it’s the medical health field where it should be mandatory.

Do NOT come here. I’d recommend going to wait 7-10 hours at the hospital than to have this experience.

Wouldn’t even give 1 star if I had the option, I’ve been to this clinic 2 days in a row only needing a doctors note might I add, yesterday i came in and when it was my turn the receptionist makes a phone call and then about 3 mins later I told her I was here for a doctors note she said we are at max capacity and yes they were about 20 people over max capacity but all those people can stay. So whatever I come back today I’ve been in line for about a half hour and after one patient is seen the receptionist goes to the back for about 15 mins at a time and repeat after every patient like this business is not a good business and as for healthcare I’m sure they’ll leave you waiting half your day and send you away

I rated this place high last time but omg we are back to covid era service. 3.5 hour wait even when we had a booked appointment. Ridiculous!

Cons:
1. The receptionists aren't friendly. Note to the receptionists: Patients are already frustrated by the ridiculous wait times of Dr. K and walk-in clinic. Your attitude and behavior aggravates them instead of easing the situation. I understand some patients are difficult, but many of us talk to you politely only to receive very cold/rude tone of communication from you.

2. Dr. K's receptionist NEVER picks up the phone. Leave a voicemail and you'll get a call few days later. And if you miss that call and they leave a voicemail.well you're back in the cycle of call and no pick-up.

3. Silly question you'll get asked: "Who's your family doctor? " by your family doctor himself. It has happened on multiple occasions, and I try to hide my shock. Don't they read the patient profile at the very least? I visit 2 to 3 times a year.

4. The doctor doesn't remember your health history or what he recommended last time. He doesn't have time to read your profile. Yes he has many patients. Being a walk-in doctor means he has too many patients to handle.

Note to future patients: It is a BAD idea to have a family doctor that also works as a walk-in doctor. You don't feel seen, you feel rushed and I personally really doubt the doctor's advice because I don't think they have a full picture of the patient's health.

5. With appointment, the wait time can range from 1 to 3 hours with Dr. K.

Note to patients: There's no point for you to come on time for your appointment.

For walk-ins, the wait time is 4 to 6 hours.

The receptionists should bring back the covid era method of calling the patient's cell when it was almost their turn to see the doctor. This way the patients won't waste so much time in the waiting area. There are good places to eat and shop in the area.

6. You can only discuss one ailment per visit - even when it is your own family doctor. This means you spend approx. 5 hours at the clinic to spend 15min seeing the doctor. Then come back again spend another 5 hours to see the doctor for 15min.

Pros: Doctor and his assistants are friendly. Nurse giving vaccinations is a joy to meet - smiling and friendly.

Absolute garbage Dr. Anees khan. I want people to know he lacks respect and he will judge you. He does not care or show any real concern towards his patients. He will spend 5 min with you and he’s out the door, while people wait 2 hours or more for an appointment. Ignorant & rude attitude along with his receptionist.
Please don’t waste your time here, because you will regret your visit.

No complaints! Went in Sunday for 8: 40 to beat any lines and was out by 10: 15. Reception was nice and doctor was quick but kind. He gave me an extra month supply of medications because he knows how hard it is to see a doctor nowadays. Mask is mandatory even for non-viral/sickness visits so make sure to bring one as they don't offer them. Clean and not bad for space. Offers to text you when they are ready so you don't have to wait in line.

Terrible, terrible terrible!
Our health system is in trouble. First off, they should ask patients to have their information in hand rather then ask them their address and phone number out loud in from of a hundred patients, second; their 1 to 3 hours notice on their wall is not acceptable. I have 45 minutes to go before my 3 hour waiting period. Maybe I will get to see the Dr before the end of today!?

Your experience at this clinic depends on who you have as your family doctor. I have a female doctor. I would give a high rating to her, she meets with the patient within 15min of appointment time, and the patient doesn't feel rushed. The receptionist for her is also helpful.

Even when you have an appointment you wait a long time before being seen, they also don’t return calls and you have to call multiple times to get an answer.the Dr I had (O Bada) although she’s no longer there she is VEry rude and yelled at me and my husband.

I had an excellent experience at Southbank Medical Centre today. There is not many clinics open on Sundays. They were able to take me in. It is very busy at this clinic and you do need some form of patience, yet the staff works very hard to make the waiting time as minimal as possible. Thank you for your hard work:).

If your going to go, unfortunately you need to make SURE you are there at least an hour before they open. People tend to start arriving 2hrs - 90mins before they start opening, but I arrived an hour early, was about 6th in line and was in and out within 90 mins.

The first time I came, I arrived right when they opened and it took 5 hours from arriving to seeing the doctor and leaving.

The doctor was able to address what I needed but keep in mind they have pretty random things they won't do on certain days (ex. No injections at this time of day, no forms filled out on this day or this time, no results reviewed on this time or day, no sick notes on this day, etc)

If I could give them 0 stars I would. DO NOT GO HERE! I'm a new resident to Ottawa, I didnt have my health card number for ON at the time. The receptionist was extremely rude, told me she could not help me. I expressed I jusy found out I was pregnant, is there anything they can do. I had to ASK HER if I could pay, wasn't even an option offered to me, she said go across the to the ATM $60 cash every time you come here. She then proceeded to ask if I've even applied for my health card, I said not yet. She then lied and said it takes 90 days for them to even process the paper work and I'll have to pay for every single medical appt I have. She didn't write my reason for seeing the Dr down. When I was seen he immediately thought it was about my eye as I was born blind in one of them, when it was about my pregnancy. He gave me paperwork for blood work which was $132. The Dr I am seeing now for my pregnancy has sent multiple requests to get my results for the bloodwork and they've never heard back. Even they are appauled at their lack of professionalism that they experienced. By the way, I went to get my health card that week, it was free and got the number that day.
Do not go here. They don't care about their clients and just rush through as fast and careless as they can.

Its money upfront or we don't serve you.
They assumed that i did not have money and put my card in a corner. Had to wait 6 hours until 7pm. They Forgot that i was there waiting for a doctor. At like 7pm I asked what is going on. They rudely said to me "money upfront sir", just to cover up their mistake. I mean I would have accepted any excuse but this was a stretch too far.

Terrible front desk staff. Very RUDE and disrespectful and problematic instead of helpful! Doctors are not bad here, but the staff in the front and the terrible management make the experience horrible! The old lady in the front, the black lady and the Indian or Sri Lankan are extremely RUDE and ill-mannered! People go there it doesn't mean otherwise, people are forced to visit this centre despite the unprofessional staff because they need medical attention! Very disappointed with my serval visits, I wish I had better options.

The doctors were amazing. The walk in administrator was VERY rude. I called this morning to ask a question just for the women on the call to be super disrespectful and irritated over me just asking for clarification. By the end of the call she hung up on my face before I was done my sentence. Irony of it all was that I was gonna make sure I didn’t upset her by asking clarification and apologize to her if I stressed her out. I am not one to write reviews but this needed to be said. They need new staff or at least customer service lessons. It’s clear the staff could care less about the office.

I completely understand a long wait for a walk in clinic but at least be transparent. There is a line up outside that makes it seem like the wait will be an hour at moat and then you go inside and are told it's 1.5 hours more minimum. An employee was coming in and out constantly so it would take 2 seconds to say "Hey, there's a much longer wait inside as well" instead of having people waste an hour outside to be told to wait another two inside.

Rude doctors and unhelpful front staff (particularly the one with the grey hair). Often berates her own colleagues, visitors, or anyone with the decency to ask an honest question.

Getting a call back from any of the doctors following a medical procedure, or simply getting them to truly sympathize with your situation will be a rarity, with some exceptions.

Avoid this place if you can. It’s a taint on the public healthcare system and clearly reflects the idea that poor infrastructure exists in poor communities such as in Ottawa South. It is a self-perpetuating cycle.

This is where I go if I need to see a doctor as soon as possible, but don't think an ER trip is necessary. I would recommend not going here. The staff is very rude and the doctors always seem to be looking for a way to get patients out of the door as quick as possible. A doctor at a recent visit recommended I take medication which only made my issues worse. You're better off finding another walk in clinic.

They just humiliate patients with rude behavior and extra extra long wait time. It takes 4 to 5 hours after taking even prior appointment. Doctor does not spend more than 10 minutes with any patient but they keep patients standing outside clinic for 4 to 5 hours with doors locked and sitting idle inside. Worst place with horrible management.

Just horrible, the doctor doesn't know what they doing. I told the doctor my ear hurts I believe I have an ear infection.
She sends me home saying I have no ear infection. Later that week my pain got worse, I went for 2nd check-up with a different doctor. I was told I have a middle ear infection I was put on antibiotics.
She made easy money $95.00.

I have been trying to book an appoinment for almost 2 weeks now, no one is answering the phone, i left 4 voice msgs, no one retained my call back, even when i tried to book online the system won't let you to complete it, there no respect for the patients if they care at least they will answer the phone or return back the call

One of the worst clinics I have been to. The doctors were fine and more than pleasant to deal with however that is where the good starts. We were left waiting for every booked appointment a minimum of an hour upwards of 2.5 hours. We were called by the support staff for the same test results 6 seperate times. Not once was it recorded we were spoken to about the results. We were told that all appointments were booked that week so went to the walk in clinic instead. We were then reprimanded by our doctor because we didn't book an appointment. When we decided to leave this doctor and move on to another we were told we would be charged 100$ per person to have our records released to the new doctor.
Do yourself a favour and find a better facility.

- No patient privacy for Walk-in patients. They should use forms to ask why the patient wants to see the doctor instead of discussing it in front of other patient in the waiting area.
- Dr.is rushing. He went to see me before a nurse could do the interview, which is a surprise that he is doing the initial interview himself. He asked what is going on with me, I went on telling him my reason, interrupted me by asking for a test (which obviously I do not have. I do not have the kit to take the test lol). He said he will be back when I have the test, and I asked him if he's not going to hear everything first. He went on saying that there's no point doing the interview if I do not have the test. (That is why you should have the nurse doing the interview and telling the patient what are the things they must have first, if possible, before the doctor comes in and talk to the patient).
- Both nurse and the dr.is not very pleasant. After telling a little bit about the prescription, which I tried my best to ask all the concerns I have, they left the room while talking in their language. I was under the impression that I needed to wait as they did not tell me I am good to go.
- While waiting for them, I can hear other nurses talking bad about other clients. Very unprofessional. The clinic is small and even if the door is closed, their conversation is still audible.
- Please improve patient privacy and care. It was a bad experience and I hope you do not ignore the negative reviews.

The worst clinic ever and does not even have medical supplies like a scissors. In order to remove my wife's stitches they used a regular kitchen scissors which pulled the stitches rather than cutting. The doctor also opened the wound to remove the rest which is why she got stitches at the first place. Avoid this place. I hope the doctor loses the license after treating the patience like this.

No update to their appointment system for holidays. Still let it book one on a holiday. No mention last week that my doctor will be away and unable to message her until the 30th until i called in, which they tell us not to do anymore since bookings are online. If your going to push us to the web. Please make sure it's up to date.

Best clinic ever. Dr. Phung is a Saint. Kind, compassionate and caring as are her staffers. Sue, at the walk in counter is always kind, empathetic and very helpul. Over the years, I have been to many doctors and clinics and Southbank is one of the best and most organized with the shortest wait times. Covid has impacted their services but never have I ever heard or witnessed some of the nonsense stated in these reviews. I have been going to Southbank for well over 25 years. Thank you to the medical team and staff at Southbank for your kindness, dedication and effort during these crazy times!

I don't know how incompetent you have to be to write a prescription for something and put the quantity down as zero. As in nothing. They prescription they wrote is less useful then the paper it was written on. I went to get the prescription filled but the idiots here didn't even fill it out properly so the pharmacy (correctly) couldn't give me anything. This is on top of wait 4 hours outside in the cold without being given any ETA and having to argue to even see the doctor. On top of people being served out of order. The worst experience I've ever had with a doctor's office.

Not covid-safe. Patients took their masks off in the clinic and the receptionists said nothing. Chairs in the walk-in clinic were not placed 2m apart and patients were not asked any screening questions before entry. Would not recommend to anyone trying to avoid catching covid. Also the clinic opened at 9am yet the doctor didn’t show up til 12: 30.

Sitting with them 7 hours to see a doctor on Saturday afternoon. Doorman is from India whenever an Indian family shows up he asked them to come in from back door and see the doctor before anyone else. Totally non-professional people works there, if I have a choice of less than 1 star I would give that. Talked to the doctor about it and he have no regret instead he mentioned it’s management issue. Never ever will go there again.

I have been going to this medical center since 2018. I am patient of Dr Jabbar, she is one of the best Drs in the city. Very professional and amazing Dr, she always welcome her patience with a smile and care about their health.
All her receptionists are amazing and very polite, every time i leave a voice message they return my call.

Not sure what all these negative reviews are about, I visited this medical center because I had a very severe ear infection, the doctor was able to easily diagnose it and give me the proper medication to treat my ear. Previously before going to this doctor I went to a hospital where they falsely diagnosed my ear and said it wasn't infected. The medication is affective and I'm making a speedy recovery! My only complain is the wait times, however it was worth it despite the wait times because the doctors are very well trained and know what their doing.

My husband and I have been very fortunate to have Dr. Anees Khan as our family doctor. He is a very knowledgeable and responsible physician. He also has a very kind and considerate secretary.
Recently my husband had a problem and Dr. Khan, even though he was on vacation outside of Canada, called him. We appreciate it sincerely.

I went to see a doctor to check my situation with allergies and this old east Indian doctor appeared and asked me what's the problem in a very rude manner. I told her the situation and she walked out on me. The next day they called me yo ask what was the problem because doctor didn't write any notes.
I've never seen such of disgrace work in clinic and unprofessional.

I spent my weekend looking up walk-in clinics who could see me. It's difficult to get an appointment with my physician sometimes. The wait was lengthy, almost 2 hours but it was a Sunday and I believe only one walk-in doctor was in at the moment.

Considering we are still in Covid, everything was handled well by staff. I appreciated the doctor who saw me, she gave me a prescription for antibiotics and confirmed a diagnosis for me.

While it was painful to sit that long, I was able to be seen and still make my shift at work.

Worst experience at a walk in clinic. I get strep throat multiple times per year and as I was going through the covid screening questions I told the nurse I do have a soar throat as I probably have strep throat. The decision was made to do everything over the phone with the doctor. The doctor told me I have to wait 3 days before I can get my results back to see if I have strep. Overall a very had experience, because of this I had to go to the emergency room to get treatment. I do not recommend this location

This is such a trash clinic. I had to wait 4hours to get checked out. They have a registration system which is so faulty. Literally3 people registered after me but were called in cuz the doctor decided to call them up by himself. And why does bo one pick up the front desk calls I've literally called so many times to try and confirm times nd such and no one picks up the phone

My first visit to the clinic. The on-line appointment booking system greatly reduces the waiting time. Courteous reception upon arrival, polite and helpful receptionist for instructions and explanations about the forms (follow-up tests), good sanitary measures in place, very professional and "humane" doctor. After booking me an appointment at 10: 15 am with a doctor that wasn’t even working and then 3 more appointments that nobody showed up to after that, in one day, I still haven’t talked to anyone. I went into get check up on my ear, I WAITEDmore than 2 hours just for them to tell me someon else went in when they called my name. How can they make a mistake like that in a medical office, I’m so disappointed I went there. None of them apologized to me or explain the situation, how can they run the clinic when they can’t even recognize the right patient and take them in. They took in a patient without even confirming if it was me or not, they’re so rude, disrespectful and unprofessional. I will never be visting again.

Was feeling under the weather earlier this week. Was able to book an appointment through their Facebook page. The receptionists and staff of this medical centre were very friendly and cooperative. I saw the doctor and was reassured all was well and got written a prescription in under an hour.

I went to get my MTO medical done at Southbank Medical Centre. I found the staff to be kind and helpful during my visit. Also, I was impressed by the staff's implementation of COVID-19 safety guidelines.

Extremely rude front staff! When we went to bring our 5 month old and 16 year old sons for a meet and greet with Dr. Bada today, we were told that our baby couldn't be seen unless I paid for the visit. Unfortunately, I hadn't received our babies healthcard in the mail yet, and the paper they gave me from the hospital ripped, so unfortunately the version code was missing. I didn't realize the code was missing prior to that moment and I asked if I could just give it to them tomorrow after I spoke to Service ON, (since they were already closed) but they said that I would either have to pay for the visit, or reschedule the appointment once I had it. I got upset and questioned why they would deny a baby from being seen over a technicality. We all had follow up appointments, so it's not like they would never see us again. Plus, we're talking about a simple meet and greet, not even an assessment. When I asked if the dr would be seeing my older son, they completely ignored me and acted asthough we weren't there. We obviously left and I wasn't polite about it. I mean who gives people the silent treatment? About 15 mins later, the dr calls and says that I went against their harrassment policy because I made a scene at the front desk and used the F word. I told her I didn't want to deal with any of them anyways and that we would find another doctor.

Also, this clinic is extremely money hungry! During my meet and greet, with my husband and 18 year old son, I told her I was about 6 weeks pregnant. She told me to take another test in two weeks and if it was still positive, to call and book an appointment. That alone threw me off, since I had a c-section only 5 months prior and thought they would want to do an ultrasound sooner than later. My husband was also told that she would need his previous medical records in order to assess the extend of his torn bicep tendon, but the next day, we were told that we had to book another appointment in order to sign the release forms, that the form's we signed were policy forms. Yes, that is correct, yet another appointment just to get our previous medical records. Which made no logical sense since she needed our radiology reports in order to go over our conditions. Forcing us to create unnessary appointments, which meant more money for them.

Even a day after my meet and greet, the Dr. Office called to say Dr. Bada wanted to schedule an over the phone appointment to go over my family history, even though we already went over it the day before. She ended up calling to ask if I wanted her to schedule me a colonoscopy, while pregnant, all because I mentioned that my sister was diagnosed with colon cancer. I couldn't believe she asked me such a stupid question, especially since I have no symptoms to suggest I needed one asap. When I told her that my sister's dr suggested that her family members get tested, because the type she has is genetic, she told me that she would need her exact diagnosis in order to refer me to a geneticists. After speaking to my sister about what Dr Bada said, she told me that the test needed only involved a stool sample. So jumping to a colonoscopy, without any symptoms and while pregnant, seemed very extreme to me. I mean we're talking about general anesthesia while pregnant. Like seriously? !

However, I do have a cyst on my wrist that prevents me from doing basic tasks without pain, such as holding my baby for too long, or washing my hair, yet she didn't even bother to look at it. Even after expressing to her how it causes me a lot of pain, especially when the tendons and nerve get pinched, she just brushed it off and said she needed my radiology report before doing anything. The pain is now radiating down my thumb and has started to compress a vein, but it was more important to schedule me for a colonoscopy? My husbands father had prostate cancer, but she didn't ask him to schedule a prostate exam. I just don't understand her logic.

Do yourself a favor and stay away from this clinic if you are looking for a family dr. They'll just waste your time.

What a wonderful clinic. The receptionists are always pleasant, and have always been nice to me. The doctors are amazing. They have done a great job with the renovations. I recommend this clinic to everyone. Keep up the good work during this difficult time. Stay healthy and stay safe!

After injuring my foot on the early morning ice, I had to visit the walk-in clinic to request an x-ray. I got the paperwork from the doctor on duty and went to the local clinic.

Almost two weeks later, the interpretive report (which no family doctor can do without - because family doctors don't know how to interpret x-rays) never showed up. So I started asking some questions and found out that the interpretive report had been completed and faxed to Southbank Medical Centre over a week ago.

And they lost it. As of this morning, they claimed they had never received it.

I frankly don't understand how people tolerate a medical centre this incompetent.

UPDATE: to make matters worse, they replied, claiming that the x-ray went to a clinic in Barrhaven.

It didn't. The X-Ray clinic said that they faxed the report in accordance with their standard procedure - DIRECTLY to the clinic that requisitioned it in the first place - Southbank.

It takes a special kind of low for a medical clinic to try and cover its own incompetence with a lie. But that's who Southbank are.

Awesome clinic. Excellent Service, very neat exam room and entrance and polite and helpful receptionists and Front door staff. During this difficult phase of time this clinic is reliable and doing the best. Keep up the good work to all Staffs, Nurse & The Doctors:)

Cons: it takes approx 2 hours from the booked appointment time to actually see the doctor. Very frustrating. I am looking to move away from this clinic as soon as I can find another family doctor. Each visit means half my work day gone. Very impractical and a very messed up system.

Pros: welcoming staff at the entrance

The staff are pleasant but there’s this one receptionist that always seems in a bad mood.

Except for that, great clinic.

I went in today, the wait time was short was called in quickly. The doctor was very nice and was very helpful. The highlight of the day was the nurse I didn’t catch her name. It start with T very nice blond lady. Thank you for being so professional. I felt better knowing that you care for how I feel. Look for this nice lady when you go there and she will make you feel better.
