It's a small but exquisite place, featuring Northern Chinese cuisines with a few South China dish items on the menu. The food was authentic and reminded me of home.

Mandarin Veggie Trio - Very similar to what I had during my high school years. Eggplant, potatoes, and green bell peppers chopped in chunks, deep-fried, and then stir-fried with the gravy. Very Northern Chinese style.

Mixed Veggie Braised Tofu - This one surprised me. The tofu was deep-fried and then covered with gravy. It was crispy like a snack.

Crispy Pork Loin in Ginger Sauce - Had a sweet and sour taste. The portion size was good, and it was crispy on the outside.

Shredded Pancake & Pork - Wasn't too happy about this one. The shredded pancake was a bit too dry and hard; it would have been nice if it had maintained moisture and soaked up the gravy. There wasn't much pork in there either.

Black Sesame Sweet Yolk Buns - Had a lot of salted egg yolk custard inside. Loved the texture.

Fresh Baked Egg Tart - Yummy dessert. The tart was flaky, and the egg custard was smooth.

They have quite a good variety of drinks - creative cocktails and non-alcoholic selections.

The service was wonderful. The staff there were very attentive - they introduced us to the menus, kept our water glasses filled, and provided napkins. Very nice.

We waited for approx. 30-40min for the Lamb & Cumin dish. We have finished other two dishes and waited for such a long time. Even the rice has already become cold. Also，it's super noisy that night. Service was just soso. No one cared about us.

We went to celebrate a friend's birthday and they were super accommodating for a group of over 10 people. We had such a great time! The duck was so delicate and juicy and the pancakes were thin and awesome. Highly recommend supporting this family-run store. The guy who waited on us was extremely nice and even changed the store music to happy birthday when we were cutting the cake!

This place is a little hidden gem in the heart of TO, if you're somewhat of an Asian food fan this is the place for you, try everything all the dishes are simply delicious. An added bonus is that they do some really nice cocktails too. My only feedback for this place would be to keep up the good quality and outstanding flavors and not get bogged down when they become a huge hit. Consistency with food and service is the key. I've already been twice this week and I'm already looking forward to my next visit. Yum!

Visiting for a lunch. They have really nice lunch sets, at reasonable price and generous (or large for me) portions. Their egg tarts are freshly made and they are consistently delicious (according to my visits). Definitely recommend this place! Moreover, their dishes are authentic.

We ordered Szechuan onion & pork. Highly recommended if you like onions and hate pork, cuz u gonna see a lot of onions and no pork.

The peking duck was very dry and a bit too thick. The wrap was dry and a bit hard. We also ordered the Hainanese Chicken and it was a bit cold and a bit dry as well. It was a bit disappointing tbh.

However, the presentation was really good. Also like the decor and the egg tarts in the restaurant.

When we arrived, Anna enthusiastically greeted us seating us beside beautiful hand painted ducks and florals. We had a midweek craving for their famous Peking Duck. We ordered a light and refreshing homemade iced tea with mint. We chose the Shrimp HaGao with a home made chilli sauce and a hot sauce. The dumpling case was smooth and the shrimp sweet at every bite. We followed by sharing the golden Peking duck platter. This included thin warm rice paper crepes that were perfect for wrapping each finely carved portion of tender duck breast and crispy crackling skin. We had the house made sweet chilli sauce, hot sauce and 2 sides of perfectly chopped vegetables to assemble our delicious wraps. The serving was perfect for two to share for lunch. We were delighted to have found this gem of a restaurant on Baldwin St. We are looking forward to a repeat performance! The decor was understated and created a great back drop to the meal with curated music playing quietly in the background.

Saw their frame board advertising the Hainan chicken lunch special. The picture looked good so I went in and had that. The food is quite disappointing. Also, service is slow.

I was just in to grab something for take out for lunch, and the General Tao chicken on the menu seemed a reasonable price.
I stayed in the restaurant while I waited about 12 minutes for my lunch to be prepared. The dining area was very clean and well maintained. Seating for around 20 or so, and not crowed. Service was very prompt.
As for my lunch, the portions were very reasonable for the price, and chicken was spectacular. Not overcooked, not dry. Very saucy, a with a nice heat. The mixture of vegetables and the rice were also in good proportion.
Well worth the wait.
I will befinitely we grabbing lunch from here again the next time I'm around.
Highly recommended if you are ever in the area.

Loved the food. Cozy little spot with a lot of variety and great prices. The general Tao’s chicken was super tender yet crispy and the sauce was really flavourful. The thousand island shrimp had super crispy breading and the dressing was great too. Seems like a family run spot and everyone working there was really nice and helpful. Will definitely be back again!

Ordered the lunch special "Hainanese chicken rice" - what a nice surprise! Service was prompt, and the food was fresh a delicious. Also the prices were reasonable for a lunch special with two dining for under $30. Will be visiting again soon!

Food is amazing and the staff is really nice and helpful.
My boyfriend and I got the scallion pancakes, veggie fried dumplings, general tao chicken and braised tofu with veggies. Everything was really tasty and fair priced.
Will definitely come back again!

Was disappointed by this place. Quality was meh and service was sub-par. They brought our dishes 30 mins apart and never brought water.

Stumbled across this restaurant when in the area & looking for a nice spot to have dinner with friends. Our first impression was that it was quite spacious and bright with plenty of seating. For a Wednesday dinner the ambiance was cozy-quaint.

We tried the chicken and rice, shrimp dim sum, and duck breast. Value & flavours were great, food was quickly served and we especially enjoyed the duck! I would come back for more duck and to try more dishes & drinks on the menu.

All in all while it's a low key spot (hidden gem!) the food was surprisingly good, staff was friendly, and I can definitely recommend checking them out!

Crispy Ginger Pork Loin is pretty good, but Szechuan Onion & Pork need to get some improvements. The butter beer is good too, similar with Harry Potter!

Placed an order via ritual, order was accepted only to find the place closed when I got there. So I'm out of pocket for the meal that I never received and I had to find something else open and wait again for my dinner. Still in the process of trying to get my money back. Not a positive experience and will avoid at all costs.

I have been ordering from Soya Mandarin Kitchen through UberEats for many months and it is always DELICIOUS! Last night, I had the pleasure of dining in for my birthday. The restaurant is cute and well decorated. We were a large group of 12 people and although they only had one server working (on an otherwise slow Weds evening), Jasmine did a great job of accommodating all of us! All of the staff was very friendly.

As usual, the food was delicious. We enjoyed the Peking Duck and many many other dishes. The Seafood Mushroom in Spice were so unique and delicious! The Mandarin Veggie Trio was another standout as well as the Dry Stir Salt & Pepper Prawn and Wasabi Mini Crab Claws. At the end of the dinner, the owners gave us complimentary egg tarts (topped with a candle).

If you're hesitating, JUST GO! I promise it will be worth it.
