Spanish River Resort and Campground - guided Walleye fishing, cabin rentals and family friendly camp sites.

Such a wonderful place and a lovely host! We pulled in with no reservation hoping for a place to camp, and even though the campground has yet to officially open for the season, David let us check in. He was so considerate and thoughtful, and set us up with a site with power to make sure we could charge our phones for our long drive the next day. The site itself is beautiful, right on the water. We hope to come back in the open season when it isn’t snowing to take advantage of David’s boat rentals!

Although I only stayed one night, it was a very pleasant one! David, the owner, is an amazing host who truly cares about the people staying over. I called him before arriving asking if i could stay the night and without any hesitation I could. He checked up later to see how I was doing after I arrived and we had a good chat! Highly recommend and would love to come back in the summer to see how it all looks by then. Thank you so much! Tot ziens en tot ons volgende biertje.

If your.lookjng for a glamping spot this is NOT it. But I love this place.quite rustic and quaint.

I was having a nice bike ride across Canada when I arrived at Spanish Ontario just a little while before the sun was to set. Looking for a place to camp for the night I consulted maps and saw Spanish River Resort Resort and Campground. I called. Dave answered. Yup, they had a spot for me to camp, and they had nice hot showers. Bonus after a day of bicycling. I asked Dave where I might find a restaurant for dinner. He said don't worry about that, we can feed you. And feed me he did - steak, salads, a baked potato and, glory be, a nice cold beer.
A long distance bicycle ride is all about enjoying experiences and meeting wonderful fellow Canadians. I will never forget Spanish River Resort.

My wife and I parked our 32' travel trailer at Spanish River Resort and Campground for the 2022 season. As first time travel trailer campers, this was a great place to experience our first season of seasonal camping. Spanish is about an hour and a half from our home in Val Caron, but we enjoyed the drive. The campground is small (there were 12 seasonal camp sites and about 5-6 overnite sites for RVs or tenters). Very quiet. The other seasonal campers were very friendly and a number of them became quick friends of ours. We are just in the process of moving our trailer to another campground a little closer to us. We will see what the new campground brings us, but we may very well return to Spanish. We enjoyed it that much. A great summer, Spanish River Resort became our happy place and we will remember it as a great place to have learned more about trailering for the first time.
