Speducci Mercatto

Great spot in central Toronto - a huge deli offering (wish we could have bought so many things to take home if we lived there!) and great baked goods and hot food options along with drinks to have there. We got pizza and a chicken shnitzel sandwich from the deli but the pasta looked amazing from seeing people have it too.

Fantastic steak. Well aged beef. Fairly well priced for a top cut of beef. Definately will return regularly.

Liked. It was delicious! Good service for Canada. I recommend Porcceta - a large portion of shish kebab for 2-3 people. It’s funny that beer is poured into wine glasses - complete nonsense, I’ve been to Italy so many times - there’s nothing like it there)

One of best kind of Italian restaurant with a Sicilian vibe. Apart from the finger licking food taste, I liked their pantry shop that had food stuff on sale and also a good collection of wines. Must visit to experience the Sicilian vibe.

Outstanding food, a superb wine list, great service and a relaxing casual atmosphere. One of my favourite culinary destinations. And you can supplement your personal pantry with a diverse selection of excellent meats, cheeses, pastas and accoutrements.

Pretty neat place. The meat selection is awesome and the cured meats are impressive. Not for the faint of wallet but you only live once. They serve food and I would say it is new and built specifically for them. Very nice place and a fun vibe with great staff. Better bring your BMW X5 to haul the meat! Enjoy.

It is a great restaurant with great food and customer service, but the prices have risen sharply in the last 1-2 years.

Great visit to the grocer for nduja! They have a cold room with any meats that you need. I'll have to try the dining room next door!

Chicken and lamb speducci were both really good. The gnocchi and fish lacked taste. Parking is like the Tetris game, cars are infront of each other, side by side or in a weird angle blocking each other. Overall the food and service was decent, not sure if I would go back, but I'm glad I gave it a try.

Popped in today to pick up some staples. Great selection and am excited to try your beer! Truffle cheese recommendation was spot on. Shall bring my boys to try the pizza after the holidays

My wife and I were in need of a late lunch to suit the hot summer day. We decided to try the Speducci Mercatto after a long absence due to Covid.

Walking into the renovated expanded shop, the new space took me back to my travels in Italy and the autostrada restaurants along its many highways. What was more impressive was the menu selection: a few appetizers, a few wood oven pizzas, several pasta dishes and sandwiches, meats from the grill and drinks. Even the drink menu was short. In my experience, sometimes the best places provide a few items that they do very well and this place does not disappoint.

We ordered the Pizza Margherita, the Porchetta sandwich and a side of fries. I had the Birra Moretti on tap and my wife had a glass of sparkling Prosecco. The pizza was truly quintessential in Naples style, thin crust with real tomato sauce that was made from fresh crushed tomatoes, creamy mozzarella and fresh basil leaves. It was light and tasty.

The porchetta sandwich was nice and fatty, made with thinly sliced fresh porchetta on a fresh bun. I ordered it with caramelized onions and with a spoonful of the table Calabrian hot pepper oil, the sandwich hit the spot. The side of fries were done right, crispy and hot and not oily or greasy.

The service was also friendly and top notch and the general vibe of the place was laid back and relaxing. In many ways, the Speducci Mercato came back from the pandemic bigger and better. We will definitely be coming back again. Would highly recommend visiting this gem for a laid-back, Italian-style, extremely tasty meal.

Don’t believe the vast majority of reviews. Place is very underwhelming, food was average at best. Employees were quite rude, owner was stuck up and seems bothered by your presence.

Just bought raw steaks for the first time and they look amazing! Excited to try them this weekend.

They seem to have expanded quite a bit, but unlike in the past, the place was packed on a Friday lunch time and reservations were needed.

I went there expecting it’ll be a smallish cafe, but it turned out to be a very uniquely decorated restaurant. Great concept and ambiance. Food was delicious and surprisingly reasonable considering the scale of the restaurant. Service was great as well.

Delicious, excellent food and great service. The mercato has many Italian ingredients to make at home.

Lovely delicious lunch, had the cheese board and Margherita pizza. Could not finish between the two of us. Good service too. Bought a frozen pizza and delicious smoked salmon from their store.

Even if you aren't just passing by, this is a great little spot to go out of the way for. Delicious at every turn, highly recommend:)

Accidentally found this place, now it’s my absolute favourite spot! Definitely worth the money, best sandwiches, the food never disappoints and the staff are always helpful! If u never tried the prosciutto sandwich… get in ur car rn and get one!

Like being in a home kitchen in rural Italy. Family warm welcome, outstanding meats and food, great menu and a real feeling of being in a place that loves food and cares for guests.

Food was good, but the service sucks! The owner is rude and does not know how to treat customers. Never going back here again!

Beef spaducci very dry, unseasoned and tough. Lamb more tender but needs salt, the marinade is quite good, but much of the favours lost without seasoning. Grilled veggies were really good! Service was confused and grumpy.

For a spaducci showcase joint, definitely needs to tighten thier game. Salt and taste testing is cheap.

Some of the food is very good. For example the steak sandwich. However, the lady in charge (I believe the owner) could be the most inhospitable person I’ve ever encountered. She is simply not nice! Made us wait for a table for no reason. Asked a question and got a rude reply. Not sure if its arrogance or what but her attitude and demeanour made the whole experience absolutely terrible. I will not go back simply because of her. Perhaps one day she will realize she’s in the service industry and customers need to be treated like CUSTOMERS!

Inconsistent quality - quality’ non costante

A few months ago I bought a salami - Wild Boar with truffle. It was *really* good. Expensive, but definitively worth the money. So a few weeks ago a bought a new one: it is terrible, the truffle are no where to be seen and it taste so bad that we are going to throw it away. See picture attached.

Never disappointed by the quality of their meats! Pre-covid, they also hosted a weekend market that we absolutely loved!

Great service. Cute little shop. Bought a few of the speducci's and loved the beef and lamp, chicken was our least favourite. Would come back for sure!

Great food, but service is really not great. Waited 30 minutes in the store (ordered via phone and being told my arrival time perfect) to pick up my pizza. Adding one of previous experience with a burned pizza, and another time with wrong type of prosciutto when opened at home. In total I took out 3 stars here.

1st time in. Picked up some proscuitto, bread and cheese. Just needed prosecco The proscuitto was fantastic! I'll be back for more. If the proscuitto was that good, I have to visit the salami room next visit. I was intrigued by the speducci bbq in the parking lot - wish I could have one in the condo balcony. Anyway, I shall return!

leaving our house to make sure the food would be preserved. Greatly
appreciated. And it was into the fridge within minutes of delivery thanks
to the kindness of your people. Also thanks for the bonus gift of
beers! I will enjoy that along with the grass fed beef burgers
tonight! Ah who am i kiddin.gonna slam one of those chicken burgs

The have had many speducci's since I married my wife 30 years ago and never looked forward to them. This place, for me my family and friends make the best, you can see the difference and definitely taste the difference. They have great meats and deli meats too yummy

Always spectacular! I had a pasta special that was so good, I ordered another to take home. Service is always lovely as well.

Vegetable Sourdough bread used to be our favourite but the one we bought today was not good. It was flavorless and practically fell apart when we cut it. New bakery supplier?

Love love love speducci! There is nothing there that isn't good quality. The service is spectacular. The food quality is top notch! Fresh items that are rare to find in a typical grocery store. I've dealt with Lili and she is spectacular. She is a professional/expert at recommending and pairing food items - just a gem of a person. Highly recommend -If you haven't been or tried, then you should go. Used them for business catering and gifts to staff. They are terrific! I'm a 110% happy customer!

If you haven't been here you have to try it. Its a little pricey but worth every penny. Theyll put a burata on your pizza for you which might be the best thing on the planet

My husband and moved into the York area of Toronto and stumbled upon Speducci Mercatto and it is now my new favourite place to eat! We order their food regularly because for us it’s a no brainer, good food, priced well and excellent customer service. This most previous order they even threw in dessert for free. Amazing customer service! I would highly recommend!

Woah. I've been here many times before COVID and never had an issue with the food but ordered a dish today and it was absolutely terrible. The pasta seemed like it was old and wasn't made fresh. I understand things are tough during this pandemic but when you are charging so much for pasta it should be freshly made. The food seemed like it was microwaved. I've added a second star just because the service remains good but when everyone is hurting like this, you can't take shortcuts on the food, especially pasta.

Have been ordering prosciutto and cheese from them, very good quality, some from local some from Italy. Small business operated with heart. Fair price and free delivery for orders above $75, which is a very good deal. Lots of option from their online store and very user-friendly. Recommended.

I had unfortunately a bad experience at Speducci Mercatto. After reading the reviews and looking at the menu I decided to treat our staff to a holiday lunch from Speducci. We had decided to do this in two separate days as I have some of my staff working alternate dates due to COVID. The location and space is very nice. There is a market, butcher and even a small Christmas Market (similar to Eataly). The staff was very friendly when ordering and picking it up.
The food was a different story. My staff felt the food was a let down. The Steak Sandwich was cold, dry and lacked flavour. The salad was extremely bitter. The lasagna-which I had also ordered- was not good. The lasagna had goat or gorganzola? Cheese in it. There was nothing in the menu that suggested this. There was also NO marinara sauce like we are used to in a typical lasagna. I understand the food could be from a different region of Italy but you have to note the ingredients on the menu (especially when they are different from what a non-Italian is used too!). The only saving grace was the deserts which were good.
I called Speducci back and the lady on the phone was surprised at my feedback. She said she would let the owner know. I did not receive a call and I decided to call back. I was told he was 'too busy' and that they wish me a nice holiday.
We ended up ordering from a different Italian caterer today for the rest of the large staff and it ended up a better experience than this.
I just wanted to give my feedback to the owner and their manager and in no way looking to get a refund. I was willing to even proceed with the second order if I got the reassurance from ownership. I do recommend checking out the store for the great selection of Italian products but not for the food.

The selection of cured meats and menu are outstanding. Service was also awesome. Get prepared foods or foods to cook in your own.

Does it get any warmer, more famiglia than Speducci? This place has it all. The best butcher shop, the best salumi, the best restaurant and the best staff. What does this mean? Go! The only sad part for me is it closes way too early for me to have dinner here.

Hidden gem in North York. Such a great spot for lunch. Food is excellent! Certain things are a little over priced

Fresh Pasta and really good service. I ordered the Butter sage cheese Ravioli and loved it. Definitely one of my fav Italian places outside downtown

What an unexpected surprise in an unusual location. The food was outstanding.so fresh and delicious. The charcuterie board was amazing. Attractive venue and nice staff.

The food is sublime, delicious and delightful. The serving staff wonderful. The market has a wide selection of food. Simply put an immoral pleasure on the tongue.

Market style restaurant with fabulous food service and atmosphere. One of the best steak sandwiches I have ever had. Soft bun, tender meat and fresh toppings.

The location of the restaurant might scare you (talk about a hole in the wall) but the food was quite good and I love the open concept they were going for with the deli/restaurant. The food items are a bit on the pricier side, especially as far as Italian food goes but the quality was very good. I reccomend this place as a location for a very nice lunch or dinner with family/dates. The olive oil and chili oil were to DIE for.

Stopped by for lunch on a friend's recommendation. Pizza was great, but the speducci and tiramisu was average at best. Service wasn't great either. But their food is nice and fresh and a great deli selection as well. May give them another try.

I went there for a work function. The meat and cheese boards were delicious. The pasta melted in ur mouth. The chicken was amazing, followed by incredibly delicious dessert. And the wine Pinot Gris was just perfect. Not to mention the best cappuccino I had in a long time. The service was quick and attentive. I will definitely go back. What a gem!

I liked this spot. We were placed in a room which was ideal for kids that don't always sit still. I liked some of the unconventional dishes.

Very good food. Excellent prociutto! Specialty beers seem overpriced ($20/bottle). Busy place during peek lunch and dinner hours. Best to reserve seating. Closes early.

A cozy place to eat. We unexpectedly showed up with a party of 8, and we didn't call to make reservations (we didn't know). They quickly went out of their way to accommodate us. Thank you. The food was fresh everyone chose something different and it came all at the same time. Everyone liked the food and the portions were big. Will be going again.

Good food, but we couldn't split the bill between us. Also, the pizza special was way more expensive than the regular pizza prices, so ask for prices before you order. They had a lot of homemade pantry products you could purchase, which looked really good.

We ordered salami cheese board, steak, pasta and tiramisu. Steak and tiramisu are the best ever! Highly recommend.

Polite staff. They have a lot of interesting imported foods. They carry an assortment of cheese. They have bresaola and turkey bresaola.

My work Ordered from here a few times, every time we ordered they screwed up.so we tried again today.gave them a smaller order than before. They were so unorganized with take out orders before and they still seem to be now.my coworker brought the order back to work only for them to forget to give one of the orders and still charged us for it.needless to say don’t order take out if you are asking for more than one thing.
