Spicy Island

The lady behind the counter was very sweet and extremely pleasant to deal with. I had the Beef Thai Basil & Chilli Pepper with rice, and it was absolutely delicious. Very generous portion, chilli sauce was an awesome addition, I 100% recommend you try this place if you enjoy Thai, Cambodian, Hakka dishes! I will be back whenever I am in the area, thank you for the great experience!

We did take out, May, the owner was extremely helpful and friendly, we highly recommend the chicken and shrimp pad Thai with peanuts, Hakka chili chicken, and house fried rice with chicken, shrimp and beef. Will definitely order again.

Ordered some takeout from this restaurant and loved it. The beef basil was spicy and the beef was perfectly cooked. The green curry was very flavourful. Will definitely be coming here more often.

Very fast and courteous service. We dealt with both of the owners and they were very friendly and attentive. We had to try the vegetable spring rolls which we had with chili Tai sauce and a wonton soup, both were really good with lots of flavour. The main dishes we had were the Chili chicken and fried rice and the beef stir fry. I tasted both and I preferred the beef stir fry over the Chili chicken. I found the beef stir fry has more robust flavour, but both dishes were still really tasty. Very open and clean restaurant with wheel chair access.

Excellent food and service. The Mango Salad was outstanding. It had chicken and shrimp. Very tasty. The Pad Thai was very flavourful. Portions are large. The Hot and Sour soup was excellent. But by far the service was friendly and very efficient.

Fast and friendly service. Love the thai red curry and spring rolls. Try this place you will not be disappointed!

One of the best places to eat in Newmarket! May is a lovely and very friendly owner, she made us feel welcome and we truly had a great experience. The restaurant atmosphere and decor are nice, great food, highly recommend it to everyone!

Have so far ordered only takeout. Once home, the food was still very hot & so tasty with generous portions.
May’s pride in her cooking is very apparent and so justified. Can’t wait to try more items on her menu.

First time at spicy Island ordered the crispy ginger beef and house special fried rice. Both were very good and nice portion sizes, enough for two meals. Will definitely be back to try some other dishes. Welcome to Newmarket!

Such a delightful restaurant with super friendly owners. The pride they take in preparing and serving their delicious Thai and Cambodian dishes even comes through with takeout. I won’t hesitate to visit again for a tasty and affordable lunch.
