While I was waiting for Silva to bring me my pair of shoes, out popped Dominic with the most beautiful smile, and positive energy, asking if I needed any help. We chatted for a minute then in an instant Silva returned with my shoes. I went to pay at the front counter and found out my shoes were 50% off. I asked Asal if I could go and grab another pair and she was so accommodating, holding my shoes, even double checking the sizes in the box. Silva got me another pair without hesitation and returned within 30 secs. Asal checked my second pair to make sure they were matching sizes. I spent under 10 mins to achieve all of this. Wonderful, fast, friendly staff and good prices/deals to boot. Would highly recommend this location.
Large store with good inventory. However, they were short on staff and some who were on floor weren't really trained so had no idea about specific items. Everyone kept passing the buck. A big shout out tian associate "Shayla". She went above and beyond and stuck with us until we found what we were looking for. The managers should trust the associates more and have more keys available for high value items, especially during busy periods.
I would like share my amazing experience I had with Saffa at the checkout counter who went way beyond to help me find a solution for an online order.she spend enough time to find a solution and the customer experience was beyond words.hope we have more people like her who make a customer feel super satisfied
I recently went into this location to pick up a pair of skis I purchased online. Upon arrival, it was clear that there was an issue with the fulfillment of the order. Having said that, the team was nothing short of professional (specifically Alex, Arnie and Dominic) and worked diligently with me to make things right. It is clear that these folks have a very client-centric mindset and went above and beyond to ensure that the issue was properly addressed and rectified. At any time, they could have simply taken the easy way out and just cancelled my order but instead they offered to patiently work with me to get my order fulfilled. Well done gents and you've won me over to be a dedicated customer at this location.
Very spacious location (two floors) with a large selection. They have a decent amount of bikes and bike accessories for sale. Staff are relatively numerous and helpful as well.
Update your website. How does a sports store have a website (ONLY WAY OF BUSINESS right now) make people spend hours looking for a bike (EVEN WITH FILTER IN FOR IN STOCK) only to have them OUT OF STOCK at check out. Update you're effing website. What else are you doing? You've got all the time in the world right now. LAZYYYYY. AWFUL
I found that Sport Chek at Laird is one of the only two stores (among those I visited during the pandemic) that is well prepared for these days. I visited the store twice-before Nov. 23 when a series of lockdowns started in Toronto and after the lockdowns finished on March 7. First, not many stores, including grocery stores, sanitize countertops after each costumer. Second, my wife bought online a pair of sport shoes on Nov. 11; the shoes were too tight and should be either returned or exchanged. I returned the shoes on March 13 though Sport Chek usually gives only 30 days for the return/exchange of the items bought online. I was able to return the shoes because my wife was still within the 30-day time frame (after Nov. 11), which started in her case only on March 8 because she was not given a full 30-day period for the return/exchange in the first place due to the lockdown (s) from Nov. 23 to March 7. Is it not a great feature provided by Sport Chek during the pandemic? We are all in it, and it's now pat of our lives. The management of Sport Chek-not like some other stores in Toronto-decided to stay with us, their costumers.
A good selection of sporting equipment. Had no trouble getting shoes from there when I went to get them. I just feel bad for the poor person who has to take care of everybody's shoes. I hope they get paid well.
Store re-opened a few weeks ago on the Laird Drive location. The social distancing was continuing and the mask wearing. Love shopping at this store. They have good quality stuff and it's a pleasure to shop there. The store is very clean and the staff is friendly and helpful.
The last few times that I've been to this location. The staff have not been very attentive. You gotta chase them down to get service. They're not with you. Make you wait a lot. I won't be returning to sport chek again
The staff here were helpful and while this is the first two-floor Sport Chek I've been in, the layout was a bit confusing and there wasn't as much selection as other locations.
I brought in an Auston Matthews jersey to have an A put on. They ruined the Jersey. Cant be trusted with your good. The guy who ruined it claims to be shop manager, actual manager was called, replaced my sweater with a new one. The original has sentimental value, and that disroyed it. The shop manager wanted to keep the destroyed one, but actual manager let me keep it for its sentimental value. Will ever go back.
Meh. This place reminds me of Canadian Tire: One is left with the impression they don't treat their people well, so staff are listless and uninterested. They have all the brands, though, and the specials may be worth your time.
I found some friendly staff in here but over all was a disappointing visit. The changing area is small and hard to get in. Over all it felt under staffed as well. The items available are a total mess of sizes and mismatches. Good luck finding your size or anything for that matter. I'm sure you can score a deal in there occasionally but unless you know what your going for in advance good chance this place is going to be a waste of time.
Staff helpless I spent 45 min at this store no buddy come to help me and when my sun talk to one of them he said I’ll come back for help and he never did. Unfortunately he was chatting with another member bedside the cashier and I’m still waiting. That’s unbelievable
Had a bad experience here because I was shopping for new running shoes and no one was available. We were looking for any store associates and when we finally flagged someone down, they looked annoyed. The size we were looking for could only be found online so he took my email address and sent me to the cashier to give my address.
Tamrah was at the cashier and didn't explain properly how the online ordering and gift card process worked. I am still very confused to why I have a gift card when I did an online order at the cashier.
To top it all off, she didn't write my last name down correctly AND she got my address wrong. I only found out after I got home and saw the email from Sportchek.
Now this package will probably be sent back because she lazily typed my last name and address.
Mike the department sales manager really went above and beyond to help me and my girlfriend. He guided us through snowboard binding set up (even though that wasn’t his job) all while the service shop was busy. Thanks Mike!
We had a great experience with Dani as my husband needed new ski boots. Dani did such a great job taking the time to properly fit them that we ended up buying a snowboard, boots and bindings too! He pointed out good deals for what we needed and told us about the services they offer there. We will be going back soon for my snowboard, boots and bindings next! Thx Dani!
The store didn't have the item I was looking for, but the staff were very helpful and looked everywhere for it, found another SportChek that did have it and offered to order it for me. It says something when you don't get what you're looking for but still had a good experience!
Customer service here is amazing! The folks working here are super helpful and really knowledgable about their stuff.
Shout out to Dani who spent so much time with me answering my questions about skis/boots among other things and constantly checking stocks for me! He even stayed behind 40 minutes past his shift to help me out, don't think I've experienced this level of service at any retailer before. The manager also super nice/helfpul! So happy with my ski purchase!
Great location, excellent staff who are always willing and able to help. Lots of stock and selection in store. My only complaint is that sometimes the process at the register can be tedious; either not knowing how to enter E-gift cards or promotional codes, or having to manually enter all your billing and shipping information into a tablet if they don't have your size and you get them to order online.
Was there October 2nd, 2019 in the evening and received great customer service. First time at this location because it's further but the best customer service I've experienced compare to other locations. Really appreciated the staff's help.
This Sportchek is fabulous. Sami was very attentive and helpful and informed me of the sales on running shoes and clothes for the week. The inventory is well stocked and sizes are not a problem.
My bike seat was broken. I couldn't unscrew it, so I took it here. The staff was very nice and patient with me. I had a hard time to decide on choosing a new seat - comfort, style, and price. He offered to show me a couple used ones that are similar to mine. I immediately picked the first one he suggested. It is ripped a bit, but it looks to fit very well. The price is unbelievable cheap. He fitted the seat for me and told me how to adjust it if I need. This used seat is more comfortable than the original seat. Thanks. Many years ago, I bought a bike there. I like it very much too, but it was stolen a few years later. So I bought a foldable one.
I shop here all the time but never left a review. Just want to comment on the staff at the checkout. I kind of held up the line for a bit while trying to get a price check on an item I brought to the checkout. The girl at the check out today worked fast get what I needed and she even called in the manager to open the other cash so I didn’t hold up the other customers.
There’s was this one guy named mark he was excellent we were there for 30mins and through that whole 30min he was there helping us test different shoe sizes for me and my little brother and he helped us for the whole way through and also the cashiers were awesome quick and nice. I was quite suprised to see the lack of quality sportswear for women. The inventory was similar to a discount outlet franchise and about as dated. You're better off going directly to a Nike, Addidas, HH, etc store.
I did get what I came for. I just think there weren't enough salespeople around. You had to wait a while to be helped or you had to seek them out. I don't know if it was because it was a Sunday but, that was my experience. I still like the store though. Good selection.
I purchase many items from this store as all three of my kids are involved in club sports. I purchased an item online for pickup. Waited 15 minutes for an item to be brought over to checkout area. Disappointed with the wait, I spoke with the manager. Not very apologetic and his tone was very condescending.that we should expect to wait that long as they were busy with retrieving the online pickup orders. I could understand waiting for 5 minutes or so. I thought the whole reason for online purchases with store pickup was to make it convenient for customers to walk in, pickup the item and be done with it. This was not remotely convenient. It would have been 3x faster to pick up the item off the shelf and pay for it in store. Total mismanagement of staffing resources. I counted at least 10 staff on the lower level during my wait and they did not appear to be anywhere close to being busy.in fact the store was pretty quiet. Don't plan on visiting this store!
Employees were not helpful at all. If I can give no stars I would. Any time I asked a question, I was told to look myself. Completely useless. Garbage.
Was able to find a product expert which allowed me to make an informed purchase. Fairly good and broad selection, not necessarily deep. Friendly associates. They always seem to have stuff I need for kid gifts.
