Go into buy a new winter coat just to have your floor walkers watch me like a hawk! Not everyone steals! Id like to shop without being made to feel like I need eyes on me it's annoying n makes me leave the store with nothing.

This was our first experience in this SportChek after my sons aaa game vs Clarington today. I want to give a big thanks to Jason and Bronson who were extremely helpful. We generally go to the Orillia store as our home store and so nice to see the consistency in customer service along with cleanliness. Give these two guys some praise. Went right over the top today for us. Thank you!

Their general offer signage drives me crazy. Sign will say 30% off. Get to the cash and that one is not included. 4 out my last 5 visits this happened. At least have a way people can check the price like at Canadian tire.

Called and confirmed ski waxing was available. Only to drive in to find out they can't do it today. Thanks for wasting my time and gas never again.

Good service. However I waited a little longer than expected for a skate sharpening but the gentleman did and excellent job so all is forgiven!

Loved the new store location and layout in the former Canadian tire store. The staff there was friendly and approachable.

This Bowmanville location is great. The employee and store
manager were awesome to deal with while purchasing loaner cleats for school athletics! You could tell they actually care about youth engaging in sports!

I bought a coat over a year ago and the zipper broke. I have no receipt so I took it into the store and they looked up my receipt and sent me a brand new coat! I was amazed at the customer service and so impressed that they replaced it with new after such a long period of time. Great service, I will continue to shop at Sport Chek. Thank you!

I had a good experience here. Was not greeted and didn't see too many staff right away but I was looking for something specific and I asked and the girl and she took me right over to it. Very clean and nicely laid out store.

Nice selection of popular brands sports clothing. I used to like going to the “Atmosphere” section but
construction underway on that part.not ideal to shop while banging and drilling occurring?

Great service and was able to get was I was looking for. Of course with Covid 19 lots of shortage for shoes and options are limited with some brands

Complete disappointment. Went there to purchase 2 bikes for my grandsons and was told I would have to purchase online at the store and pay in full since they didn't stock bikes in the store during the winter (these were to be Christmas presents.) Week later got an email saying they were out of stock and to return to the store for a refund and then the very next day got an email saying they wouldn't be available for Christmas but would be delivered in January. Needless to say, cancelled and went elsewhere

Very high priced coats compared to nearby competitors. Assistance non existent in this store. Won't return any time soon!

Third time in the last year I've come to the store and they've not had the sale items in stock.

Service was terrible. No one to help get the right size of shoes from the back. Staff were walking around but unable to help other than call the one staff person working with two customers. The store was not busy at all.

Looking for a replacement lid for my travel cup, great service from staff helped with correct size and delivery was free when item was not in store.

This is not a criticism of the Bowmanville Sport Chek. I found all their young staff both friendly and helpful. This is a criticism of the corporate Black Friday Spend and Get and No Tax before 11am promotions. I went to Sport Chek to purchase 2 pairs of shoes. The shoes would cost a little more than $150. Since it before 11, I believed that I would be eligible for both promos. When I reached the cashier, I was told I was still $20 short of the $150 purchases required for the $40 promo card. I purchased a pair of shorts to bring the cost of purchases to $175. It wasn't till I got home and looked at my bill did I discover how Sports Chek calculates their promos. 1) It is not really a no tax event. They discount each item by 13 %. Thus my $150 worth of shoes was only $130 after the 13% discount. This created the $20 shortage that the cashier mentioned. The $25 shorts I bought brought the value of my purchases to a little over $175. You are then taxed (GST) on the $175 discounted by 13‰ (approximately $155) the GST brings the total back to over $175. The reality is in order to get the promo card in conjunction with the no sales tax promotion you have spend a minimum of $170 not $150 that Sports Chek advertises. 2) I also found that Sports Chek adds $40 promo card to the total purchase cost and taxes it at 13% GST. They then deduct $40 from the bill. The reality is that since the promo card is taxed the real value of the promo card is a little under $35 not the $40 advertised. I am not pleased by the way Sports Chek advertises promotions and calculates them. I had to spend over $170 to get a promo card with a real value of $35. I will be much less likely to to make further purchases from Sports Chek.

I find service here hit or miss. Most of the time it is decent and employees are friendly. However if you come here to get your skates sharpened beware. Multiple times I have taken my sons and husbands skates to get sharpened and they were done incorrectly. My husband couldn't skate suddenly and my kids couldn't stop. Took the skates elsewhere to be re sharpened and were told they were way off.
My advise: buy clothes, shoes and other equipment here but avoid the skate sharpening!

Got a great deal on a new mountain bike last week and Gary in the bike shop was excellent. His knowledge is unbeatable and honesty unmatchable. My new bike was personally assembled by Gary and he showed me everything about it before I left the store. He takes pride in his workmanship and wants every customer to learn the bike to enjoy it. Sport Chek has a one year free warranty repair for brakes and gears adjustment as well. This store is worth the 30 minute drive from my place. Overall very friendly staff and not understaffed like other stores.
