Generally a nice store. This location had a better selection of skis and winter gear than some of the smaller stores in the rest of the GTA. A more comfortable shopping experience here without big name mall woes like large crowds and difficult to find parking

The front desk cashier is a ver nice lady. White man whenever he works there is extremely nice and helpful. Whenever andrew is there everything goes wrong. Including my bike. The manager was also bad. He first says they can exchange and then not? That is very very wrong. On the receipt it says 30 day return for anything in the store. Then manager said no all of a sudden at the cashier. This is my first time for returning an item. Manager said we can’t exchange all the time. But I’m saying that this manager shouldn’t be the manager of this store at this location. The manager doesn’t know anything about returning policy!

I would give zero stars if I could. I went to this sport check to shop Sunday May 28 around 1pm. Started off normal, went looking for a blue jays hat. Had it on because I was trying it and a short time later a manager (who's name I can't remember) comes to be and demands that I leave the store accusing me of stealing and stating that I was banned. I told him that I was planning to pay for the hat and asked why am I banned. He then replied "I do not want to continue this conversation". He took it further and threatened to call security and told me he never wanted to see me back at the store. I was with friends too. I was humiliated and embarrassed. I can't believe I would be treated this way by somewhere I am spending my limited money at. I don't know what made him think I wasn't going to pay for the hat, I thought it was normal to try a hat on to see how it looks or fits! Can't say won't be back because I am banned for life. Just know, they do not treat all customers with respect.

Got to hand it to this crew!
Came in needing new shoes and was blown away by the customer service I recieved.
Julian, of the footwear department went above and beyond expectations.
Helped me with exquisite detail, meeting my needs as a customer, and actually gave quality advice - very hard to find these days!

I honestly hate, hate, hate shopping for shoes.
Buying a shoe is like a commitment.
You fall in love with the feel, the look of the shoe that adds benefit to your life.
Usually hearing the current shoe you are wearing is no longer being made.

Julian however, listened not only with great intentions, but effective advice. Letting me know that, the shoes I was looking at, were not made for my style of foot.
Upon his recommendation of shoe I was astonished, and very satisfied.

Not only was the service and advice helpful, he even educated, and informed me of the wonderful Triangle MasterCard.

If anyone from HQ is reading this, you need to give Julian good proper credit as he did t try to just sell, me a card. He made me actually need it. With clear and outlined benefits, it was a no brainer.
Outstanding, in footwear and sales!

I feel bad because I didn't get the cashier's names, but they too were extremely helpful.
Polite and respectful.
I will most definitely be changing where I buy my sportswear from now on.

Great job you guys!

I bought a bike and I needed it to be assembled. Unfortunately the store close to me was unable to finish assembling it before my camping trip so they referred me to this sports chek. Thanks to manager Kingsley, Assistant manager Kevin for helping in getting it assembled and ready in one day. Great customer service, great cooperation between the stores. Thank you for your great help!

I ordered a bicycle for my daughter online to be picked up at this location. The store provided great communication and assembled the bike quickly. I am happy with the bicycle and SportChek's service.

Skate inventory is quite limited. I remember the skate section to be a lot larger in previous years, but my memory may be failing me. Staff were great and very helpful. Convenient location as well.

Not even 1 star.few weeks ago, I bought my son's hockey equipment here.skate, stick, shin guards, other thing,

First of all,
the staff did not pay attention to us.
I stayed 3.5 hours to buy all equipment.
I do not have knowledge about hockey as my son just started learning.couple of class after, I realized the staff sold us wrong size of hockey pants (the only on JR Small), hocky pans are too small to wear after he put "shin guard" and socks.
Other problem is the staff sold us Senior
large size of elbow pads as "shin guards"
The staff doesn't know what is what.
Zero knowledge no support/ wrong support for Hockey starters

they keep saying if the size is wrong, return to the store,
but their return policy is "unused " condition.so, I lost my money for two items and 3.5 hours of my time.of course at that they my son miss an evening tutor.

Had the best experience @Sport Chek on Oct. 19. I went in to sharpen my son's new skates, and, to my surprise, found out their was an hour wait. My son had skating classes literally in 30 mins, and they understood my dilemma, empathized with the situation and prioritized sharpening my son's skates. I really appreciated this act of kindness from the Service Team! Thank You!

Incompetent, lazy, rude and very unprofessional. Employees make you feel that they don’t want to deal with you and are very condescending. Not the first time having this type of service from this specific branch. Last interaction was them having me on hold for 45 mins to let know if they have an item in stock.

We asked the manager if they sold an item and the manager couldn't be bothered and said no, she was short with us and told us "whatever is out is what we have". We later asked the cashier who was stunned and said they do sell the item. He was very helpful and thoughtful.

It's always hard to find staff for assistance (for example getting a shoe size from the back). Even if you find someone, they need to page someone else that works in shoes and it's happened that that mysterious person never showed up.

Absolutely amazing customer care and service! I got hockey skates from the Missisauga location only to realize that they gave me 2 left skates. I don’t live anywhere near there so I called this location and the manager not only replaced them for me, he price matched a better pair of skates and threw in a free sharpening as well. It was the easiest and most helpful experience I’ve had.

This is the second time we had an under-average in-store pickup experience at this location. We ordered one pair of running shoes online, and although the webpage confirmed that the order was received, we did not receive a confirmation email. We did, however, receive a cancellation email two hours later saying that our order "didn't work out" without any explanation as to why the order was cancelled.

So we placed the exact same order again and the webpage confirmed that the order was received. Once again we did not receive a confirmation email. An hour and a half later we went to the store to explain the situation and buy the shoes ourselves - this was supposed to be a "one hour pickup" after all. The employees were very incompetent; they all asked us the same questions and passed the problem on to each other until eventually the assistant manager had to step in. The employees were just blaming the system for not having yet received the order; they were not actually trying to solve the problem. They didn't even ask us what we had ordered to see if they had the shoes in store.

The assistant manager resolved the issue by finding us the pair we were looking for and by giving us the same online discount that was originally applied to our order as we paid for the shoes in person.

Overall it was a very tedious and unnecessarily lengthy process, but we are happy that we got the shoes and that at least the assistant manager was efficient. Thank goodness we decided to visit the store in person because who knows how long we could have been waiting for a confirmation email otherwise?

Long story short: the in-store pickup process is not very reliable at this location. Hopefully if a representative sees this they will be able to look into the server issue and make the pickup process more reliable.

I had been looking online for a last minute Valentine's Gift and even tho most places said they offered curbside pickup there was still 2-3 processing before I could pick up. I only had time in my schedule to pick up yesterday.

I was so happy to findout that not only did they have what I was looking for in stock but I could pick it up as early as 1 hr after placing my order.

Really great service! I literally just parked at the doors next to SportChek. Notified them that I was there and they brought my order right to my door.

The manager/supervisor should be FIRED.
Clearly, he has no ideas what he is doing.

Here is the story:
I was calling last Sunday to the store and asking if I could use 3 gift cards to make an order in store as there is a limit of 2 GCs max per purchase for online orders. However, the manager told me that the same rule also applies for in-store purchases, which was surprising to me. And then I asked if you guys could combine my GCs into one, he said my GCs had 20 digits, which could only be used online, they could do nothing in store. You can guess it was a disappointing call.

However, after I checked my cards’ redemption rule, I found my cards could be used in store. Plus I couldn’t find anything on their website about his “up to 2 GCs” in store policy; which raised my doubts towards his credibility. The next day I called sportcheck in store customer service, and got totally opposite answers:

1. You can use unlimited numbers of CGs in-store per purchase.
2. You can combine your GCs in store
3. Another alternative way to use all your GCs to your online purchase is: use 2 when placing an online order; after the item arrives, you can bring that to a store, return it and buyback with all your GCs.

I followed the suggestion and was able to combine my GCs in the Woodbine and 16th Ave store.

Man, if you don’t know the answer, check before opening your mouth to your customers.
Lastly, I just wanted to say you don’t deserve the job!

We went to sport check today to get myself a winter jacket and my son sky kit, with the special promotion, because of that I get my winter jacket at $79 (91 with tax) from $250 without tax. Woow great discount because of the triangle credit card, also my son sky kit with an average between 35% to 70% discount. But what made our shopping experience greater are all people working there, but more specificity the team working around the sky area (specially the young gentleman there, do not know his name), they were extremely helpful, Friendly, patient and knowledgeable, they gave us a lot of information on how to select our sky kit, we truly appreciate there help and patient with us. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

Very frustrated at this location.
I understand that we're living through Covid times and that there are safety protocols in place.
I witnessed many staff members doing their best to placate customers and I appreciate their courtesy to me in responding to my concerns.
It is however extremely frustrating waiting 20 minutes for the only change room to then see someone come out and hand over a inordinate and ridiculously large amount of garments and not make a single purchase.
Perhaps Sportchek should ensure that the employees enforce all policies such as limiting customers to 3 garments at a time in the fitting room, as indicated on the door.

I know that possibly due to Covid they are short in staff but even after waiting for 20 min and after being announced by manager about four times on the mic that someone is looking for some help for buying stuff, the staff doesn't show up then that is quiet a bad impression of the store and management.
Secondly, after 20 min of wait I got the product which I went to buy i.e. Fitbit charge 3. Although new rather an open box. After buying it when I opened and started charging, it didn't work. WeIl obviously it is not on store if any electronics product doesn't work but as it was an open box it means that someone might have returned it for the same reason. Which obviously means that either they should have kept it separately as returns for defects rather than selling it to someone.
They truly lack management and cooperation skills.

Their vivid rules are confusing and not being enforced by employees the same. Tried to buy shoes at the Hillcrest location, employees to answer when asked questions and nonexistent. I was told not yo touch shoes, yet another employee watched multiple costumers touch shoes. Very disappointing experience, will never shop this location; and try to avoid the whole chain.

I placed a telephone order yesterday around evening. Awful services at the front desk (cashier section), where they don't even know how to guide you to find the store location in the big mall. My call was disconnected and they didn't pickup the phone while I called back. For some reason all the information boards in the mall, didn't locate this store!
Awesome costumer care at Hard-Goods section by Omar, who did his best to find the proper product and it's accessories for me.

Horrendous customer service. Called 3 times after another sport check suggested on calling before going got put on hold twice with no sign of anyone working there since I was out on hold por 20 min each time. By 3rd phone call I obviously pointed out the fact that I was put in hold where once again I was put in hold.in fact I’m still in hold it has been an amazing 1 hour and 30 min at this point I’m just taking bets to see who hangs up first. Sport check management do you want in?

Sportchek, located within Richmond Hill's Hillcrest Mall, is a medium sized location the offers the latest in sports equipment and outerwear. Tried the new LeBron James edition electric mini-bike, just don't try to do wheelies with it or they'll ask you to leave.

I bought a sticks at SportChek Promenade but no technician to cut my stick. Called the service manager at Hillcrest (Lisa?) who was attentive and helpful. Service dept staff was great. Highly recommended

Terrible service. My wife and I were looking for a bike for her and badly needed a professional advice. Four young guys, store representatives, stayed and chatted at the bike workshop paying zero attention to us. One of them passed us twice not even turning his head, let alone offering help. My wife should approach them herself and asked for assistance. The guy who after all came to us had so little interest that when we made our choice and asked to adjust the bike, he looked annoyed, like we stole his valuable time.
Avoid that store if you may need any kind of assistance from the personnel.

The store was quite clean and well maintained. Staff were friendly and extremely helpful. Especially Nicole, who answered my questions and helped explain their return policy. She was extremely sweet and genuinely cared about my thoughts and concerns. I would recommend this sportchek and will definitely be coming again

Store refuse to honour their own promotion. Spend $125 before tax receive $30 promotion card. Manager refuse to provide it and customer service contacted me back and back and forth to receive this, "I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. " from customer service. Good thing this is all recorded and you can judge it yourself. First manager won't allow me to buy the products. Then he said you can buy it but I won't give you the promotional cards. Watch it and judge it yourself on YouTube.

This branch of Sport Chek has a small collection of the sports shoes and a partial inventory. I found 3 shoes in the store and they did not have my size. Staff are not energetic and supportive.

Great experience. Manager of shoe department was excellent and super helpful. Took a pair of shoes back that after a short while noticed was slightly too small. No issues for a swap upon return and now I’m a very happy customer. Will definitely be returning for my future purchases and for my kids stuff too. Thanks!

This location is pretty good. I’m not giving it 5 stars because when I went to purchase a certain item, not only was the selection extremely limited. The display was disorganized and virtually unshoppable.

The store still gets a solid four stars because the staff are incredibly polite and helpful. Despite, the messy display I experienced the rest of the store is organized and well maintained.

Michelle was very helpful! She was honestly the only reason I’m giving a 5/5. She seemed to really care about me, and she told me the prices of each item as I was purchasing them. She talked to me about my day, but seemed genuinely interested instead of the usual conversations I have with cashiers. The store was also clean and well put together. Thank you for great service!
