I almost quit coming to this location. I had a really good associate named Leo who helped me out with all my questions and concerns and helped me find the perfect pair of shoes.

If you go to this Sportchek ask for Leo he is the best associate

This store experience left much to be desired and fell short of expectations. Upon entering, it was evident that some associates were engaged in personal conversations, neglecting customer requests for assistance.

Furthermore, the selection of shoes on display was disappointingly limited in available sizes, making it challenging to find the right fit. Even when a desirable pair was located, customers were directed to place an online order, only to face complications at the cashier. Some customers reported having their payment deducted from a gift card, followed by order cancellation. This left them without both the shoes they desired and the funds on their gift card.

To add to the frustration, attempting to contact the online customer service number resulted in disappointment, as it claimed the office was closed. This lack of responsiveness left customers feeling stranded with neither their desired shoes nor their money.

It is advisable to consider alternative shopping options to avoid encountering these issues!

I came in today looking for a pair of running shoes, upon heading to the men’s shoe area there were a decent amount of customers and two associates. A supervisor I assume was training the associate on selling tactics and blocking the whole running shoe area from view. Other customers seemed to afraid to dive in so I just stepped in and said “Excuse me, a few of us would like to take a look at this area would you mind if I stepped in to check out a shoe? ” The supervisor gave me a dirty look and moved on with the associate. Keep in mind none of us were ever greeted or asked if we needed help. I picked out two shoes to ask for sizing and made eye contact with the supervisor, he turned around and brought the associate with him down to the women’s section. Back the two shoes went and I was off to get the shoe from elsewhere. I ended up buying a shoe for $10 over Sportcheks price just to avoid giving that man a sale. PS: When training an associate on sales tactics don’t mention customers are “dumb” and to never bring them the shoe they want and to only bring out alpha flys or Vapor flys to make more money

I had a very bad experience today at the store. Went to the store to get a shoes and ask a staff there about one of the brand and by mistake I pronounced it wrongly. He was really showing a bad response to me and after that when I called him to get more information he was being disrespectful in his face.

I went today and purchased $700 of items and the store would not comp a bag for me, I get it if I bought a $20 item, but in all honesty I bought
A winter jkt and a box of shoes and carried the items out and had to go back to the car since I didn’t want to lug the items in my hand as I had to go back to the mall

Customer service is important and I think if a customer just spent 700$ and you can’t spare a bag that’s less then 5$, i guess my next trip is to sporting life

Disturbing experience with the front desk cashier on friday November 11th, 2022. Terrible customer service.

So today i decided to get my wife a new winter jacket as snow season is soon approaching and sport chek is known for carrying the best winter gear. Found a nice north face jacket for her and requested a sales associate to unlock the anti-theft wires so we can try it on. Everything was going good until we realised that the zipper stopped going up at a certain point, so the sales associate (who was very helpful and friendly mind you) went to the back and found us a new jacket with a functioning zipper.

Unfortunately, this is where things took a turn for the worst. The Sales associate states that due to store policy she would have to leave the jacket with the front desk cashier as we werent allowed to browse the store and hold it. Which was fine.but she accidentally placed the broken zipper jacket to the front to be cashed out and not the backroom replacement. Human error on the sales associates part.

Time comes for us to cash out, and upon entering the empty queue area we stumble upon the front desk cashier (who this complaint revolves around) being all jolly and joyful with her male co-worker who was seemingly on his way out of his shift. We waited a good 3 minutes to even be addressed or acknowledged for their friendly banter to come to an end. When he finally left and it was time for her to greet us, she barely looked at us. By barely i mean zero eye contact. Keep this part in mind as it will be an important detail later on.

So the usual square one sport chek cashier experience occurs (quick responses, zero friendly questions as to how our day was or experience at the location went, seems to want to get the customer out of their face asap etc) and after we paid, we left the store through the downstairs exit into the mall and understandably so, my wife wanted to try on her new north face jacket. So we whip it out of the nearly $2.00 reusable bag that the cashier in question failed to mention would cost us anything, put it on her and thats when we realized that sales associate accidentally sent the wrong jacket to be cashed out.

So we turn back, and head back into the store to seek help as we were told that this would be the functioning zipper jacket. A new sales associate named "V" who after seeing our receipt instructed us to take a new jacket to the front and explain to the same rude cashier what happened so she can simply remove the new jackets tags and make the physical exchange occur since this wasnt our fault.

So we go right to the cashier and this time there was a queue of about 3 customers and surprise surprise she didnt remember us from apx 5 min ago. As we approached her, she loudly instructs us to go to the back of the line as her desk wasnt the start of the line. No hello or how can i help you or whats wrong. Just a rude, clearly overwhelmed cashier yelling orders at paying customers. We tried explaining to her that we simply only needed the tags removed so we can leave with the new jacket and she didnt believe that we purchased it in the first place. Which was especially hilarious considering she was the one who cashed us out in the first place, but how can you expect her to know that when flirting with co workers is more important than good customer service.

She gets the receipt and realizes that we're getting impatient so she prolongs things by radioing her manager to ask if the exchange was ok. She gives us a new receipt and our jacket and sends us off with a brilliant and rude comment, " EnJoy YoUr JaCkEt, ". No apology for the inconvenience or anything. Just childish, petty, typical youngster behaviour on display.

For years this location has employed overly rude and impatient youngsters but this unnamed one in particular, who can only be described as a heavier set woman with blonde pigtail like braids clearly takes the cake. No pun intended.

Great service from Joey last afternoon at the shoe section. Wanted to drop a good word for him at the cashier but was given a card that has a link that didn't work on my phone. It should either be fixed or made easy to give feedback. Excellent work from staff should be recognized and the process should be swift and seamless.

I want to thank Nikheel for his exceptional customer service. As soon as my family walked into the store, we appeared lost looking for some basketball sleeves/t-shirts for gifts. Nikheel immediately came over to us and showed us where the items were. For a good 30 minutes straight, Nikheel kept coming back and asking us if we were good and guided us further by showing us different basketball t-shirts/jerseys that we could buy as gifts. We ended up buying some gear and clothing because of his kind personality and service! Thank you Nikheel for the wonderful service!

I called in advance to make sure I got what I came for, however the rep on the phone prior wouldn't physically go and check. The product I asked about they had difficulty finding.they were going to turn me away, but I insisted they check again.they found it, and the product number matched what I had asked for, but I discovered that the picture of the product on their website was for a larger size, which made my purchase not nearly as useful. I brought this to the attention of the person who was ringing through my purchases, and they said there was nothing they could do.so I ended up paying more money for a smaller product, because I'd already driven there for this item (it wasn't in stock at the location 2 minutes from my home) and as I suspected it didn't work for the purpose I'd purchased it for.

DO NOT USE DOORDASH DELIVERY OPTION!

Purchased a pair of running shoes for my fiancee and selected door dash delivery. I needed these urgently as her current shoes are causing blisters/bleeding and she works out daily.

I got a notification at 7: 30am (a little early, but ok) that the shoes were being delivered so I waited by the door. No knock on the door, then I get a notification saying they were delivered.but they weren't.

I called the store and the person who answered said they remembered handing the shoes to the driver, but would look into it and call me back.they called back and said there's nothing they can do, I have to call operations.

So I call operations and get put on hold for 10 mins just for them to tell me that they don't know where the shoes are and I should contact door dash. After telling them I don't have the option to contact door dash, they inform me they'll open an investigation that will take 2-4 business days.

Remember I ordered these via door dash because my Fiancee urgently needed a new pair of shoes.now I'm waiting 2-4 days with no guarantee of resolution.

I would strongly advise against using door dash - perhaps they can be trusted with your food but not with your expensive merchandise.

Also, Sport Check takes no responsibility for a delivery option they provide and that is unacceptable. I should not be told to follow up with your courier when there is an issue - that's for you to do.

Incredibly frustrated with this experience.

Went to this location Oct 9,2021 around 840/8: 45 pm in the shoes department i asked Mohammed for a shoe size he tells me the store is closed after i stated the store closes at 9 pm he semi decided to help. While trying my shoes on he kept rushing me and said 4mins left.at 9: 01 pm said sir were closed.zero level of customer service. Zack on the phone was very helpful however, Mohammed is a useless employee who does not care about the company or its clients

After a really awful experience dealing with the Winston Park/Oakville location, dealing with this store was a pleasure - they were extremely helpful in trying to rectify a situation that wasn’t even the fault of their store and went over and above to make sure I got the shoes I was looking for. Posting my review because the official Sport Check site has been removed it. I ordered Mikasa Volleyball V200W online ($99+Tax).
When shipment came - the ball was replaced with cheap replica ($30 at most). It's not they just threw wrong box. The sticker on the box was from my ordered model $99 but someone just replaced the ball itself.
Sent it back which costed me another $3 for repackaging + have to track refund now.
Lots of pain - nothing gained except "never again" experience.
Be aware - don't fall for fraud when shopping online at Sport Check.

Came here to service my bike covered under the one year warranty and had an extender for the stem installed to be able to mount a thule child font seat. John was amazing I was impressed by his attitude and capabilities. He helped out for a very minor charge. I had gotten sent away from two professional bike shops not being willing to do this but John did it in a heart beat.

For a store this big, you’d be surprised by how little help you’d get from the staff. Either they’re hiding behind the merchandise or in the dressing rooms or busy chatting amongst each other. It’s almost always a challenge to find an employee to assist you. The only reason I gave them 3 stars was that they often have decent sales going on every now and then (we were able to buy a winter parka for $110 off, exactly what we came in for).

I never had issues with my feet until this year when I had an injury with an ankle sprain. Employee from the shoe department, Kyle, helped me with finding a good pair. He recommended the asics kayano as well with these soft soles to be added. The pain has been quite minimal since then, and he spent a lot of time to rushing back in between a busy weekend to deliver shoes for other customers and as coming back to help me out. Very informative staff and assisting with customers.

The gentleman at the service shop is hands down the most negative individual ever. He will say no to everything. Brought my used ski's to get the binding adjusted and he said no because it wasnt in the book to repair and then sighted me all that can go wrong. The bindings are not even older than 2 years and yet he decided not to adjust it. Basically they want me to buy their product. Worst customer service ever. Even the manager Sandra doesnt know about ski.

I waited over 10 minutes to buy my kid a pair of shoes. There was one guy before me and two other customers showed up while we were waiting. There were people working passing by us but never offered to help. Probably not their section? Still should have attended and called for some help. Don’t want to do that? Find work outside of service industry. Not impressed with level of service. Taking my business elsewhere.

First time visit in a long time to this Sport Check location and found an employee who was more than willing to help me find a size of Under Armour Fleece Pants, I had a hard time finding a matching top and she went out of her way to check in store and online. We finally found one and she told me I could have it delivered to the store for pick-up. I was very impressed by Beryl's great customer service skills and friendly and upbeat attitude, very rare these days. I must also mention Taylor at the cash, she was awesome and guided me through the online process making it very effortless shopping experience. Thank you Beryl and Taylor, have a great New Year!

Dealt with a cashier by the name of Amy tonight incredibly RUDE! No enthusiasm, no greeting, no thanking me for my business not to mention STILL leaving the security tags on after me paying for my item. I must say this experience has left me very displeased with Sportschek.

Have you ever given someone "minus 20 dollars" as a birthday gift before? That is what I got as a birthday gift thank to this Sportcheck location.

My partner decides to get me a gift. She thinks it would be nice to get me some wireless headphones as I wanted one. She is not that good with tech stuff and she decides she can trust the staff at this location. Sounds alright, yeah? No, it is a bad combination.

So the salesperson convinces her this beautiful headphones are wireless as she requested wireless headphones. She happily takes it and sends it to me. I open it up but to my surprise it is another pair of headphones with wires on it and no bluetooth.

I have 80 other pairs, I have so much wire at home I could use it to build a wall on US border. And I have waited for this gift 3 months because my lady insisted she is going to get me a pair as a gift so I shouldn't get one.

So we just wanted to return the product. We were given 2 options by this nice customer service lady to make up for the breach of implied warranty the salesperson comitted. We choose to do the right thing and send the product back and get a refund rather than keeping it for free and getting a full refund.

I wish we didnt. I wish I kept the headphones for free. Thyey said they cant send us a shipment label but they can reimburse us for the cost of shipment.

I mean mate, we have been deceived once by this company, what are the odds for getting deceived again? Well I'll be damned, I shipped the headphones back across the country and kept the receipt with me for tracking purposes.

As you guessed, yes we didnt get reimbursed for the shipment cost because I didnt send the receipt! For clarity, I used Canada post not a messenger pigeon. They received the product in a different location but unfortunately I cant get my money back because I didnt ship the receipt.

But I learnt my lesson, I am not going to ship the receipt back. God knows how much that is going to cost.

So that is how I got minus 20 dollars for my birthday. Thank you sportcheck for giving me an experience like no other for this birthday.

Sports chek has wonderful stuff but I have different experiences at different locations. I bought two bicycles for my kids yesterday. I was sent from their heartland location to square one, as the bicycles we selected were only available at this location. I would have given 5 stars if the help on the floor was easy to get. I had to wait a long time and then the person helped us was not in a mood to serve us. Later, another person, who was busy with other buyer helped us giving us better details. The cashiers were awesome with pleasant attitude. They need to hire more people who like to help with some smile on their face.

I bought a small bicycle online for my son took it to the shop so they build it for me I waited 1/ 2 hour at the service desk and the guy says sorry we can't do it today so I ask him can I leave and pick it up tomorrow he says yes then he start writing his work order and after he finish he says maybe next Monday it will be assembled so I said no thanks and I took it to a bicycle shop on dundas 25 $ and 20.in job was done

Had a very unprofessional experience in this store, particularly with a gentleman by the name of Massi -one of the Department Managers. My family and I will not be shopping at SportChek or any of its affiliates again.

Background:
I was in the store on Sun. Jun. 30 around 5: 45pm shopping and there was nobody around to help me. It was not a very busy time in Massi’s department, in casual/lifestyle wear (i.e. Track suite section).

Instead of managing his team to help customers, I witnessed Massi walking around and having very deep religious debates with his team. Telling them indirect and passive aggressive ways of debunking Christianity and trying to prove Islam to them as a true religion. I could sense an extreme discomfort from his workers as they were telling him things like “well, that’s just what I believe in. ” and he continued to challenge them to try to prove Islam. It was extremely bizarre and unsettling to be witnessing this sort of behaviour happen with management in SportChek, I actually could not believe my eyes.

Finally, after he did this to 3-4 of his employees, all passing me several times without helping me because this religious focus group of sorts must have needed to take precedence, he then went up to scold one of his employees and said “guys I’ve been part time before, I know how to get through a shift by just yapping all day, stop talking and get to work. ”.

I spoke up and said “instead of hypocritically telling your staff to stop yapping, why don’t you actually lead them by example to help customers rather than have deep religious debates and trying to passive aggressively push your beliefs on them? I’ve been waiting for help for a very long time. ”

He told me to shut my mouth, mind my own business and if I want to shop here I should not be eavesdropping on his conversations and I should leave the store.

I believe I also overheard an under-breath comment being made about my leg brace (currently wearing one from a recent injury), it was very clear that they were talking about me as well. Customers around us witnessed everything, became very uncomfortable and said they could not believe what they just saw.

I spoke with the assistant manager working at the time, Chris, and he listened to what I had to say, did not record ANYTHING (not my name, not what I was saying, nothing) and said he will be letting his SGM know and that I was free to report it in an online survey on the SportChek website.

I think an experience like this is a huge indication that there is a serious opportunity for staff coaching / training on professionalism and customer service as the current state of service and respect for workers & customers is bleeding revenue and therefore severely detrimental to business.

I wish there was zero on review rating. Gave 2 bikes for service. Tuning of gears not right. Brakes still feel the same. The assosiates are indifferent and don't even look at you while delivering bikes. No basic courtesy. They don't complete everything on work order. They don't call you if they can't do anything. They don't even dust off the bike. Ah well if you are planning on throwing money away please use their bike service. I would highly recommend going to an actual bike store coz your bike deserves that love.

Had a really nice experience. Brandon, a sales rep for the shoes section was extremely helpful and patient with us. He answered all our inquiries and allowed us to try on A LOT of shoes. Overall had a great time and highly recomend speaking with him. Great JOB!

Walked into the Square one location and was quite surprised how much it has changed since the last time I had been in the store prior to them moving into Square One.

The location is clean and well setup making it easy to locate anything that you may need in regards to sporting goods or otherwise.

I was in the store to purchase a pair of Timberland Brooklyn boots and am quite happy with my purchase and the service overall, I would visit this location again without thinking twice. If you are in need of sporting goods be sure to check out Sport Chek in Square One.

Even when slightly understaffed (understandable as I was there near closing time) the service was efficient and friendly. The products were clean and always organized every time I shopped here. The sections are clearly marked and distinct, with multiple convenient exits to other stores. Overall, great place to shop:)

Excellent choice of products but the staff lacks customer service skills. They are more interested in folding clothes instead of assisting customers. That being said I will continue to shop here because of the excellent selection of sports clothing.
