Leslie in the coat department helped me find a winter jacket for my mother in law. Sébastien in the shoe department helped me find a winter boot. They were both great. Sébastien explained the difference between the Merrell and Vans brand and advised I get the Merrell for what I needed the boots for. Excellent service from them both. My mother in law said " God bless you" so I got blessings for taking to the mall to get the winter jacket. She is really happy with it. On top of all that, the manager price matched a coat I bought on December 27th. A great day out at Sporting Life.

I feel so bad that I don't remember the manager's name because he gave us so much help and I want to thank him again. My boyfriend was a first time skates buyer so he had no idea what size he should wear, and the manager brought so many sizes from the back to find the best fit for my bf's feet. Thanks to him, we could skate together with so much fun yesterday ;D

I would want to give it 0 if I could. The dude that worked st the snowboard section lied to me.he told me that the binding would fit my board so I bought it. Turns out. IT DOESNT FIT!

Terrible experience shopping here. The one time I try them out they cancel my order after stating they had enough stock of my item I purchase then they cancel a day after say they can’t fulfill my order. I understand it’s December and it’s busier than usual but that should motivate you to assure you communicate availability accurately in person AND online. Tried calling several times to get further help, not a single answer. Never shopping here again!

If I could give negative 5 stars I would I’m extremely frustrated I went to purchase a moose knuckle jacket 2 days ago I specifically asked for a size Large they gave me the jacket I tried it on to find it was quite small I took it off to see if it was a large it was a medium even though I asked for large, I came back the next day to try on a size large and it fit perfect! I even double checked it was a large (it was), I asked the sales associate to unlock the size large and bring it to the counter for me to purchase, I paid for my jacket (I did not receive a dust/travel bag for my new jacket they told me they ran out) and left when I got home before I went to take the tag off I noticed it said XL I checked the jacket sure enough XL! Absolutely ridiculous customer service, had this been a final sale purchase I would have been stuck with this wrong size all because of the salespersons carelessness and would have been out almost $1000 needless to say I will never be returning to this location and I doubt I will be doing any more shopping with sporting life ever again

The sole purpose of my visit was to find shoe soles. I have size 13.5 feet and this place had both low arch and normal arch soles. Very happy with them

Wicked sales, you have to check often for these half-off sales. GReat sales people to help. Can get very crowded in the sales sections but just look at those prices. Sign-up for their mailing list bc they have more specials that aren't advertised in store.

This is the worst customer service and help that I have received. I brought in my tennis racquets to be strung and asked for them to be done in two piece stringing. I picked up my racquets and found it was done in one piece. I asked Yorel the worker to see the work order for the string job. He showed me that he did not write 2 piece stringing and that he thought all stringing is two piece and that he is not stringer. I find this absolutely ridiculous that Yorel is taking order for stringing if he does not know what he is doing or talking about. This is not the first time this has happened as another worker Jeff at this same store did the exact same error with two piece stringing providing me a one piece stringing. Jeff was worse than Yorel as he told I did not tell him two piece stringing and lied to my face. I have brought this up to the manager of the store and he was also very unhelpful to resolving this issue. He offered free stringing with the condition I use my own string. I find this insane at how bad this store is run and the service I was provided on numerous occasions. They have wasted my string on numerous racquets because of "miscommunications" and "lying". I strongly advise that you do not get your racquets strung at this store as they provide terrible service.

Sporting life used to be an amazing store with helpful staff and unbelievable products. The whole chain has gone down hill, no customer service, and now camping gear. The orginal owners should be sad to see this change.

Not usually the type to write reviews but I had a truly exceptional customer experience at this location the other day. I was looking for a new coat in anticipation of a trip I’m planning and one of the sales associates named Nancy was a huge help to me! She really knew her stuff and was so accommodating! I actually ended up buying a few other items as well with her assistance. I look forward to shopping here again soon!

To say that the employees here are helpful is an understatement. I purchased ski boots awhile back that did not fit my foot properly causing alot of pain. After my complaint with the ski boots, the cash manager Sherwin ensured me that Jeff and Charlie would be able to assist me with my needs. Jeff and Charlie were wonderful in their assistance ensuring my ski boots would no longer cause pain. Both Jeff and Charlie were very knowledgeable, friendly and supportive! After the issue with my ski boots were addressed, the cash manager Sherwin went out of his way to make sure everything was to my liking. I am impressed by the customer service and will defiantly return to this Sporting Life location.

Bought some snowboarding gear preseason and didn't get a chance to use it until the first snowstorm of 2022. The bindings I was originally recommended were the wrong size. I was asked by Yorel to bring everything back to Sporting Life to see what could be done. So without any expectations I brought my gear in the next day. Yorel tested a bunch of different bindings and confirmed to me that there was a sizing issue. But unfortunately they didn't have any bindings in stock that would fit my boot size but he kept looking and looking in the back. After a few minutes of waiting he found a size M binding that would work, but it was the top of the line binding and way out of my budget. I wasn't expecting for them to change it out for a more expensive set so I told him that I would try to live with the current issue. He insisted that he wanted to make me happy so he disappeared again and asked me to wait. He eventually came back and to make a long story short he installed the new bindings. He managed to get me a decent discount on them so I was more than grateful for that! It was also mentioned that the transaction would be flagged by upper management due to the time period of exchange and I felt bad but he insisted to me that he was ok with his decision and I appreciated it. He actually went to bat for me as a customer and was only concerned with me being happy and having the right setup. I highly recommend Yorel and the Sporting Life at Hillcrest Mall. 10/10 customer service! He's gained you a loyal and happy customer.

Yorel provided exceptional service.

I mistakenly bought the wrong bindings for my sons snowboard.

Yorel assisted in an easy exchange and installed the new bindings on the spot, even though he was busy and it was the end of the day.

He went above and beyond, at a time when customer service is going through a difficult period.

I would highly recommend dealing with Yorel if you need anything in the snowboard/ski department.

Their pick up service was not available so we had to let them ship to us but their parcel service never delivered our shoes and say they should have arrived! We even reported to the police and given out all the information that we can and their online CS and in-store staff said there is nothing they can do! Avoid this shop!

I’ve shopping from Sporting Life over the years and never had any problem with them. The recent shopping experience was really stood out. Peter gave me the impression that I was a valuable customer. I Shopped over the weekend and had a great experience with the staff. In particular, Ginno was extremely helpful and assisted with any questions I had. He was very knowledgeable and offered great customer service. In addition, I really like this location as they have a wide selection of products.

Very nice store, very friendly and helpful staff. I came in on this particular occasion to look at Helly Hansen shells, and found that there weren't very many options at all.

The store was very neat and organized, and tidy.

This location has super friendly staff that are very helpful regarding their sales and products. I was helped by this SUPER amazing cashier named Rendel. He was so friendly and super patient with helping us even though it was past the store's closing hour. We were buying 3 pairs of socks and he quickly informed us there was a promotion going on where we get the 4th one free, which we didn't know about. Highly recommend for the excellent customer service I received from Rendel.

Beware of negative inventory. The items you order don’t even exist! Horrible customer service and shopping experience.

I had three separate orders for pickup at Hillcrest. The first one was cancelled by Sporting Life after two hours because the product was out of stock, and they gave a promo code as an apology. Concerned I had fallen victim to a bait and switch, I had to follow up on multiple occasions about the status of my two other orders only to be told that I had to keep waiting as they were still being processed. I tried calling the store the next day to no avail, and the staff there had the audacity to hang up on my call. So as a last resort, I visited the store in person.

I began to doubt that they even had the products in stock to fulfill my order, and my hunch was right. The manager was going on about how many customers have yelled at her and the staff and made excuses about how Amazon has issues like this too (not in my experience) but still offered to check their system for the product. Not only was there no inventory, there was NEGATIVE INVENTORY! This meant Sporting Life lets customers place orders and holds onto their credit card info indefinitely for products that aren’t even available in any quantity whatsoever.

In the end, the manager did nothing to remedy the situation and just told me to continue waiting. Shortly after I left the store, my third order was cancelled (I think this must’ve been the manager’s doing).

As of right now, two of three orders have been cancelled. One is still being processed but will likely be cancelled. Starting to see a pattern here! Had I had known I would be subjected to this kind of misconduct, I would have gladly taken my business elsewhere.

The store is nicely laid out now due to covid19 with lots of hand sanitizer available.

The only issue was staffing, I asked 4 people regarding a popular yeti product and no one seemed to know if it was carried in store or not.

And whomever the gentleman was standing at the entrance to the mall was, his answer of "i need to ask a sales associate" is not only useless but what purpose does he serve?

Awesome experience. (Called to pick up my Tennis racquet, which was strung and located at the Sporting Life Sherway Gardens store - currently closed. Somehow, they were able to get it to the Hillcrest store, within hours, Unbelievable!). Very clean store, hand sanitizer EVERYWHERE in the store, every employee had the blue surgical facial mask, I was wowed! Social distancing respected and all staff were super helpful; especially Charlie and Alex. Made for one of the best shopping experiences during these difficult times! Exceptional customer service and care. Thank you all. (Let me also thank the efforts of Chris and Joe who offered exceptional assistance).

We were just here to get information, sizing and possibly purchase a full set of ski equipment. We had an amazing experience here! The staff were very helpful and thorough, Charlie was outstanding and we will definitely be going back to see him for future purchases. He was extremely knowledgeable and understanding. My 4 star rating is only because there were some issues when it came to checking out. However, by the end, most of our issues were fixed- many thanks to Andrew. I definitely recommend this location for ski related purchases and 100% ask for Charlie!

Have emailed me three seperate times that stuff isn't available and has been taken out of my order. 3-4 pairs not available.
Why let me order if you don't have it?

Sporting Life seems to be the"go to place" for Canada Goose. This location has a nicely displayed clothes priced from $100+. So relative to other retailers at Hillcrest, Sporting Life sells high-end products. Overall, this is a really nice store easily accessible from the parking lot. Sporting Life "used to" have a steady set of employees but like with other retailers, this location has a high turn over of employees.

After shopping at another sporting life store in Markham, I would like to go Markham store instead of this one. Here only supply 14 days refunds but Markham store supply 60 days. In fact the policy already changed but Hillcrest store didn't change service information on their bill.

My Husband and I shop at sporting life forever, especially my husband as he likes the selection of Hugo Boss.
He purchased a Spyder Gortex jacket at the Yorkdale location. The first time he wore it the inside snaps didn’t match and assembly together. Then one came entirely off.
He wore it one time. Jacket malfunction.
I returned the jacket to the Sporting Life in RH.
I felt interrogated by 3 different staff members and all I was trying to do was exchange the jacket to a jacket that snapped properly.
The third staff was the manager and by this point I was sick of answering the same questions, she was the worst.
She could have offered to fix the snaps for us and I would have gladly kept the jacket.
I finally got the exchange but I am turned off by this way I was treated.
I didn’t have the tag for the jacket but I did have the receipt and it was purchased 1 week prior to returning.
