Dr Jangra was so polite and professional I could not recommend him more. Wait times are quite reasonable too! He helped me with my issues and helped me see all the professionals I needed. Great clinic!
Google should ad to negative star of this type of service of clinic. I NEVER Written COMMENTS BUT THIS TIME I HAVE TO SHARE MY BAD EXPERIENCE WITH Spruce Walk in CLINIC at Kitchener location. Not professional and responsible clinic personnels. Ruin my day because of your negelance. If the doctor had gone for a day, your responsibility to let the patients know whose had been booked a appointment with doctor.
The actual service is very friendly and helpful. However, their time management is awful. So many times have I tried to show up early to beat the line, only for the doctor to clock in an HOUR late. Even with virtual appointments, they are delayed.
My daughter had a situation she needed to address rapidly, and we visited Spruce Medical Walk-In Clinic. The receptionist was friendly, and we were able to be seen in a short amount of time. Dr Kumar is a compassionate, knowledgeable and very competent health care professional. She made my daughter feel comfortable, listened to her and prescribed the right remedy for her situation. She is healthy and happy. Thank you so so much!
Horrible service. I went to take an appointment for my son. They didn't accept my Manulife insurance which is accepted across Canada and outside. This insurance was accepted by University of Waterloo ophthalmology department recently. They declined it. I told them I will pay. They asked for 120 dollars, I said fine I will pay. Then another condition that they will only accept in cash, no other mode of payment. I was not having cash so I came back with my son who was unable to walk because of his hurt toe. Now I have to take him to another walk-in clinic.
Honestly never had a worse experience. Waited 2 hours injured just to be called to the back. Meanwhile, they are prioritizing people who stroll in a hour late.worst possible clinic in KW! Do not recommend! They will happily call people’s names for 55+ minutes instead of helping new patients… if I could give 0 stars I would
I received an email instructing me to make a phone appointment to go over my lab results. I was not able to do that because the website said no bookings available. I call and get told the person that does the phone visits is on holidays until the end of the month. If I want my results I need to walk-in. I go first thing Saturday morning and get unto a room immediately at 9am. I wait an hour only to get told that the Dr is not coming in today so go home, I can't get my results.
What sort of a business is this! People are sick and need to get their lab results but how? How is someone supposed to get the necessary medical help they need to when there is no one working?
I visited the clinic today. I am giving one star because there is no option for 0 star. Dr Kumari’s behaviour was rude to me. I felt like, she wanted to say why you came to the clinic. The other doctor is very nice, I don’t remember the name, but he is polite and helpful.
Worst experience using this clinic’s phone based appointment system. Booked a telephone appointment with a doctor for 9: 30 am this morning, thinking first appointment of the day - they can’t get too behind schedule at this early hour. I was wrong. I didn’t get a call from their office until 1 pm. By this point I was not available to talk on the phone. To top it off, the receptionist left a nasty voicemail saying she attempted to call me “numerous” times and it’s on me to now make another appointment. What’s the point of scheduling an appointment if they don’t bother upholding the correct appointment time. Do they expect people to sit around by the phone all day? Zero stars
Arrive 8: 30am so I can be the first in line… first door doesn’t open until 9: 00 and the doctor is no where to be found. Currently 9: 12 and still no doctor
They are gladly accepting new patients for family doctor but let me tell you I would never become a patient here
Doctors hate when your late.why can they be late for you too?
Office space is clean and spacious, doctor and the other staff were very kind to us. There is also pharmacy here and pharmacist was also very friendly. Definitely Better experience than Emergency Service
Don’t waste your time visiting here. Tooooooooooo long waiting. No doct sees whats going on. First they can’t prescribe knee brace. They sent me to visit physio Thn physio sent me back here to get prescription for knee brace. I came here and just for prescription waited 2 hours. I came from night shift and its too hard to wait this long. Useless staff. Very rude chemist. Prescribing here n there doctors Thats what you will get here. I wish I could give negative 5 star rating
Seriously health system in Canada is so messed up.
Basically waited for a good two hours so that a nurse can tell me that she can't do anything gets at the moment. The waiting time did not bother me but the fact that what they call a doctor is a nurse. Looks nice but honestly not worth the wait. $15 waisted on a taxi.
Haven't had any issues so far. Getting there ealy in the morning I suppose has helped getting almost immediate attention. Dr. Calvin Johnston is very helpful.
This place was garbage. They make you wait ourside in a blizzard and make you call to go inside. Even then you are lucky to get seen. Very unprofessional. No parking. 0 stars
First time going and was shocked with the lack of privacy and irregular charges that other local walk in clinics do not charge. They have a tablet, which you have to put all your information in (DOB, Reason for visit, health card number, etc.). This tablet is on the reception desk (which is almost 4ft tall), it has a big screen, so over half of the waiting room can read it (I sat over 8 ft away and could clearly see, especially when I used my phone camera). In addition to that, it demands that you provide an email address to move forward with the form, which is highly insecure, especially if you have kids/family members who can access your email. It is crazy to see a health care facility in Canada run like this.
No one picks up their phone. No email address is provided for communication. They only use a so called “secure web form” to communicate with you, which is a one way and one time thing. You cannot reply to their messages on this web form or provide documents. Just go somewhere else and save yourself some time.
My wife had appointment over call at this clinic multiple times and each time the receptionist call well before time like 2-3 hours earlier and leave no voice message. Today it was worst they called twice before appointment and because my wife was at work she could not pick and at the time of appointment they didn't called nor did they call after that time. She tried to call but simply no response. Very unprofessional and pathetic service.
Extremely unprofessional clinic. The doctor I spoke with for a phone appointment was beyond rude and insensitive - no one answers the phone or checks voicemail. I was able to get what I needed at a different clinic in the area in less than an hour with much kinder and more professional staff. Do not go here.
Disappointed as eventhough you are negative for covid but have fever for other reasons doctor is not ready to see you! Doesn’t matter if a patient is as child or adult! Do not prefer ever this clinic!
This clinic is absolutely terrible. They ask you to book a phone visit for anything they could have completed easily in person. And they do nothing in the phone visit but to confirm your in person appointment. Then they don’t give you your referral at the in person visit, instead they ask you to book another phone visit to get the referral.
This could have been done easily in one appointment but they purposely make it three. Avoid this place if you can!
Dangerously unprofessional. They literally skipped the appointment completely. No cancellation, no contact, no answering the phone, no email notice of cancellation. If you value your health or the health of the people you love, then never visit this clinic. Look at how many negative reviews they have…
The female doctor here is sadistic I genuinely believe she enjoys watching people be in pain, do not go to this clinic, she will laugh about your illness and tell you to go to a hospital rather than helping you herself, she can’t handle even the most basic parts of her job.
Dr. Kumari (available during the week) is fantastic. She knows what she’s doing and isn’t afraid to provide the best solution. The doctor present on Saturdays, Dr. Abounaser is absolutely pathetic. Lacking communication skills to offer sound advice or respond to critical questions. Is invasive and far too comfortable with his words. Would not recommend the Saturday doc. Creepy bloke.
Reception is the worst here. They don't answer the phones nor will they pass on refill requests, questions etc to the doctor. Wait times are also pretty long. I can't comment on the doctors - they seem average
I took my 10 year old daughter there on the weekend. The doctor on call recommended that an ultra sound be done. We then received an email the next day, stating that there was important information. So I went to the clinic after and spoke with the receptionist, she said I had to bring my daughter in to get the results. My daughter is 10 years old and a minor, still the office would not release any information about her results to me. I was allowed to sign a release form without my daughter present, but the clinic would not tell me the ultrasound results. They have no idea what they did, and they were very un-professional about the whole situation. Also there is no one on one when trying to call the office. Apparently the only way to contact them is through the website.
My family and I have been going to this walk-in clinic for a year already and I have nothing but praises for the staff and doctors of Spruce Medical. The doctors are very cheerful and they take time to listen to your concerns. They are definitely experts and evaluate your condition with care. Referrals have never been a problem as their staff are competent and communication has never been a problem.
Horrible experience, bad clinic, don’t go! Waited for 1 hour, everyone else come after us has been called and they just don’t care how long u have been waiting!
Worst clinic ever. I came from a third world country and they have better clinics. Doctor didn’t even ask me my problem. I was at max 15-20 seconds with her, before i had to leave. They don’t even care about patients.
Just a really immature staff. They were really disrespectful and had a passive aggressive attitude issue. Made an account to review something for first time in life because they were so bad
Pleasant experience with my walk-in visit. The front Staff were busy but were friendly and understanding. The wait time for my turn was like any other walk in clinic (1-2 hrs), depending on how many patients are signed in for the day. The doctor listened to my health concern and gave me treatment options that was best covered by my health insurance. Having a pharmacy by the clinic was very handy as it saved me time and fuel. Definately would recommend this clinic.
Horrible experience. Dr Kumari was rude, short, didn’t give me the time of day. She looked at my throat for maybe 0.2 seconds and then shoved me out of the office as fast as she could. Didn’t give me any time to ask any questions and cut me off when I was speaking. However the man at the pharmacy was extremely helpful and understanding of this when I told him so shout-out to him (only reason I gave an extra star)
Good for basic things like cold and flu, vaccines etc. However not good for any chronic or complex medical issues. Doctor seems too busy to spend proper time assessing her patients (only see her 5 -10 mins). In addition family patients can only make appointments once a week when the clinic is open 7 days.
If you want a place to go to for quick doctors notes that's fine but don't come here expecting them to solve a more serious issue.
Mixed feelings. Been coming here for a while. The doctors and pharmacist are quite friendly, but the actual office doesn't communicate very well. The front desk is hard to deal with. Dr. Kumari also is a bit rude and doesn’t have time for you.
Unable to make an appointment with my doctor through the online portal provided for family practice. Anytime I’ve gone in to explain I’m unable to make an appointment or call in to make an appointment (as their automated system just goes through a bunch of options ultimately putting you on hold to speak to someone, just to be told their busy and to call back later) there’s no solution or guidance as to how i’d solve the issue. Was signed up as part of the family practice from when they first opened, yet for about a year I wasn’t registered properly and had to explain that every single time I came in. After finally questioning why it’s such a hassle to have this organized and me registered properly, I was sent a link that was suppose to make things easier for booking etc. It didn’t. Last two times I’ve walked in to see someone, as a result of not being able to make an appointment online, I’ve had to wait a couple hours. Insanely frustrating for someone who is a patient of the family practice. What’s the point if I can’t make appointments or be seen as if I wasn’t at a walk in clinic. Doctors are amazing however and helpful.
This office forces you to fill out your own forms on a tablet locked to the reception desk.
In itself, this is not a terible idea, providing you are adept with computers.
But if you have some sort of back injury or difficulty standing its a tortuous and extremely unpleasant experience.
A nice and reasonable accommodation would be to give the patients the tablet so that they can go sit down or have one of the two receptionists facilitate the patients administration.
The Doctor.
Dr Huwedi Abouannaser Salaheddin Faraj is a chauvinistic individual and furthermore incapable of proper diagnostics and listening of women and transpersons.
His demeanor was arrogant and dismissive.
He did not obtain my consent before bringing an intern into my examination room.
Furthermore he took great offence when I asked her to leave.
His physical diagnoses consisted of a blood pressure check and visual observation of the injury site.
He was unwilling to follow another doctores percribed medical course if only for a few days till I could see my family Doctor located 1 hour away.
Amusingly he perscribed medication that I am already using. Mind blown!
"Splain to me why I need 2 identical scripts" "Splain me why you not listening. "
He brushed off my concerns and walked away from me in the middle of a conversation.
Hypothetically speaking; if he is not well versed in the field of my injury, he could have at least stated that and referred me to another physician.
He did not fill out WSIB forms.
And lastly. When I asked for a Doctor's Note, the only form of payment accepted was cash.
Parking.
My concern is that parking in this area is scant. Expect to park off site and walk to this office.
Last thoughts.
As a transwomen walking into what appears to be a predominantly Muslim Medical office, I am already feeling anxious.
But to be a doctor in Canada means he needs to put his Koran on the back burner. I should not be treated as inferior.
However, if you're looking for a Doctor who's going to be able to quickly diagnose a sniffle, an alergy, or a little booboo and there after send you on your way; this doctor is perfect for that.
But if you need something more detailed, and more in depth, more familiar womens health with a better bedside manner, this doctor is completely incompetent in that regards.
Because there was overt bigotry, discrimination or bias its hard to say with certainty this was the cause of his treatment towards me.
Honestly speaking I think you'd be better off going to another clinic or the emergency ward in the hospital.
This Clinic appears to be set up to be a facilitator for the basic medical needs of the Muslim students in the area.
It's not meant to be a clinic for serious ailments.
UPDATED: I was asked about my low review and told the doctor that it's impossible to contact the practice. She told me about virtual care (which she told me every patient received an invitation to, which was a lie bc I had not) and told me to message her using it so we can finalize my referral. Well low and behold I've been waiting over 48 hours for my confirmation email for virtual care. I've emailed through their website twice in the last couples days and just got a reply saying "check our website". I also tried calling but it didn't connect.
If you want me to change my review make it possible for me to contact you.
I came here for vaccinations, and Dr. Abouanaser was very friendly and knowledgeable, and knew exactly which vaccines I needed to take. He quickly prescribed them, and the pharmacist Sam Patel was extremely friendly, humorous, and knowledgeable. The receptionist/nurse is also very friendly, and very patient with customers. When Dr. A gave me a vaccine, he was extremely gentle and I barely felt it! Overall I had a very pleasant experience and would go back again.
Amazing place. All the doctors here are amazing. Specially Dr. Kumari she is a gem. The care and the diagnosis is amazing and the best part of her is she listens to you and comfort you.thet staff is also very helpful including the pharmacist. Highly recommended place
I had a fantastic experience here in a pinch and was well taken care of considering the scope of the practice - don't let the whiny students taint your perception of a decent business. I saw their actions and they are difficult to deal with to say the least.
I would give zero to Dr Salaheddin if I could. He judged me after he reviewed my medical history and embarrassed me by providing me with some terribly inappropriate advice. He probably should retake medical ethical course to learn how to respect patient with a different religion.
I have gone here three times in the past few months for pain on my left side. Each time I have gone I have witnessed the front staff being belegerent to patients with concerns. The doctors are in such a rush they cannot be bothered to ask questions relating to the issue or do any kind of examination without being pushed. All my visits have been less than 3 minutes long. Exam rooms have been dirty with over flowing trash cans and unknown fluids on the walls. Will not go here again.
Ridiculous wait times. Doctors are late, slow, and rude. Staff aren't helpful and also rude. I have been here multiple times and each time is a worst experience than the last. If you are able to go anywhere else, do so. Absolutely would not recommend. I would give it a zero if I could.
It was busy, so the wait time was about an hour and a half, which, for a minor health issue, I figure, is about what I'd've waited had I gone all the way to the emergency room at the hospital to be looked at. The check-up didn't take long once I did see a doctor, and the prescription was pretty quick to come to the front. I liked that the doctor gave additional steps in case things didn't improve, and I'd have to come back.
