St George Banquet Hall

Elegant and spacious hall with three distinct sections, ideal for hosting three separate events simultaneously. The flexibility allows these sections to be combined into a large hall, perfect for weddings with a sizable guest list. The venue is practical, and the staff is both friendly and professional. The culinary experience is excellent, and the presence of a separate restaurant within the hall, which happens to be one of my favorite dining spots in Waterloo, adds to its appeal.

It's a really nice hall and professionally run. For some reason their coffee machine broke so the management went out and got a bunch of take-10 coffees from there. On top of things!

Other than that, plenty of parking and clean hall.

Serving staff is friendly but the food was awful. I went for my cousins wedding, the steak was so dry and gross. The mash tasted like dust. My fiancé has a dairy and egg allergy, their version of a dairy free meal meant veg and no potatoes for him, his soup was basically warm salsa.

Not great for food. But the hall was clean. The washroom was not being maintained by staff properly and none of the stalls had toilet paper. It was also FREEZING. The AC was so high I had to get my grandmother a jacket from my car, and I had to wear a jacket inside

Bright and open facility. Easy to enjoy with a crowd - tasty breakfast and efficient staff

Grad-ball for ended with students sent to the hospital due to Chefs negligence on what “dairy” and “nuts” are. Food was horrible and the hall ran out of dessert for all the guests even though they had the number of guests ahead of time.

I attended a morning safety meeting here. Breakfast was included. It was all very good. Layout was fine and sound was good.

Recently attended a grad ball event here and the treatment of the guests by the kitchen was completely unacceptable. The food served was mediocre and of questionable appearance. The staff were obviously under-trained and under-prepared as they seemed distracted and confused when prompted with any questions regarding the meal.

What's most disappointing is the venue falsely advertised a sorbet as dairy free when it contained multiple ingredients containing diary, 2 of my friends were hospitalized and had to leave early. Completely unacceptable and overall concerning that there was a chef in the kitchen who so blatantly and ignorantly made this error without considering any allergies or other dietary restrictions of their guests.

Would give this place 0 stars if possible and would definitely not recommend.

Friendly staff, great service, classy atmosphere, and very good food. Excellent place for events and gatherings.

I had my grad-ball here on March 11,2023 and would give 0 stars if I could.

**CAUTION**: If you have allergies do not trust the venue’s food description. They claimed that the lime sorbet was dairy-free but several people went into anaphylaxis shock and had to spend the night at the hospital.

On another note, attached is a picture of the veal and it’s as horrible as it looks. My stomach felt sick that night and the morning after.

In addition, we waited hours for dessert but the staff forgot to serve my table. When asked “where’s my dessert? ”, they said they only had 3 left for my table of 8 and gave us the remains. Not sure how this could happen if the venue had the correct number of food-poisoning-level veals but not dessert.

Lastly, the washroom smells.

Went as a 600 person grad ball event recently. Venue was clean and well decorated.

Food was the biggest let down. The veal was disturbingly gray (My camera upped the saturation, more gray than photos). The chicken was slightly better, but nothing amazing. The vegetables were literally just boiled/steamed. The best thing I can say is it tasted better than it looked? Coffee was served which was nice, but they ran out almost immediately and did not refill.

Service was not great although staff were friendly. No water provided after an initial one glass. Had to ask multiple times for a pitcher to be provided. The card machine went down in the bar which led to large lines. 3 bartenders for a 600 person event also did not help.

Staff in general did not seem well prepared for the event. The tables were cleared to make a dance area, but the lights remained on for the first 15 minutes until someone searched for the light switch to turn them off.

Lastly, the dairy free sorbet was announced to have dairy 30 minutes after dessert was served. Rest in peace my lactose intolerant friends.

Great place for any kind of event. They have 3 halls that can be opened up for a bigger event as well.

What a beautiful event hall! Managed by the absolute best staff- highly recommend reaching out for any upcoming weddings, baptisms, parties or corporate events! You will love their food, too!

Me and my husband had our wedding at St George Banquet Hall on Oct 9,2022 and were extremely impressed with the service from beginning to end. Communication was amazing, our requests were met and everything turned out exactly how we imagined it to be. Huge shout out to the servers, bartenders and most importantly, Brane and Jovan!

Looks great from the outside but found it had a cafeteria feel. Yukon fries were not very warm and undercooked. We got 1 dessert to share. The waitress told us the choices so we didn't know the cost. It was $12. It wasn't worth it. Soda pop was $3.59. Pricey compared to many restaurants and we were never asked if we wanted refills. The meat entrees were just ok. We did have a very pleasant waitress and service was quick.

I wish I could give zero stars. My husband and I held our wedding reception at the St George on September 4th, and I'm still SO upset about the treatment both during & after the wedding.
To name a few of the issues we experienced:
1.about 60-70% of guests had food poisoning after the wedding.
2. We had asked for sangria to be served during the cocktail hour, they served it in a juice dispenser and completely unlabeled. Kids were drinking it until one of our family members tried it and realized it was alcoholic.
3. They were understaffed for an event of our size which meant dinner was so long! There were about 30-40 minutes between courses. It wasn't a suprise we were having a large wedding. This led to such a delay in our timeline which meant we had to rush through everything else.
4. Staff was nowhere to be found during our first dance which meant all the lights were on - they usually dim the lights, our MC's had to find them and when they couldn't they asked a guest who used to work there for help.

Once we brought all of these issues to their attention, they first emailed us a whole bunch of blatant lies which I had to correct via picture proof, they finally came back and basically said they would do nothing for us. Honestly, spend your money elsewhere, you don't need that kind of stress during your wedding or after for that matter!

We had our wedding at St George Hall on September 10,2022. Brani, the general manager was a huge deciding factor in us choosing to have our wedding here and it only kept getting better and better. He helped us at every step of the planning process, and was very accommodating to make sure the night was exactly what we wanted.

St George Hall is incredibly priced for the value they provide. All of our wedding guests commented on how good the food was, and it was served hot and timely.

Jovan (so sorry if I spelt that wrong), was our go to manager for the night of and he ensured the night went seamless. I didn't have to deal with a single thing and the night was perfect!

We will be turning to St George Hall for any future events we may have, as we know it will be extremely well handled, and a great time.

We were recently at a wedding there and had such a great experience. The staff from the time we entered, to the servers, bar tender were amazing. Our food was absolutely delicious. Cudo's to the chef (s) you did an outstanding job. Everyone was raving about the food and how great they were treated. This place is an absolute gem! Thanks for making this occasion so special for each of the guests, but especially stress free for the happy couple.

Had my daughter's wedding at St George Banquet Hall during Dec 2021 and I couldn't be happier with the everything. I received so many complements for the quality and quantity of the food and the service. Special thanks to Mr. Brani who made every effort to make our special event so memorable.

Lunch was excellent today, I am soo happy they are open again! The prices are reasonable and the portions are generous. Please if you haven't tried this place yet, give them a chance. I am sure you won't be disappointed.

This is by far my favorite place to eat. The lady that owns it knows our family by name and always asks how the family is. Very good family atmosphere in a small place

My husband and I had our wedding party here, and we are very happy that we chose St George Banquet Hall. First of all, their customer service is amazing. Branislav and the crew made sure that all of our requests were met, and the food at our wedding was amazing. The potato soup, Karadjordjeva schnitzel and apple blossom cake is a must! The wedding hall was beautifully decorated and very clean. The wait staff and the bartender were amazing during the entire night. In addition, we had extra requests for the food and they did an amazing job with it. Definitely 100% recommend!

I've been to a number of events here and they manage to pull it off flawlessly every time. Food is excellent and staff are very helpful. I find it remarkable that any kitchen can serve over 500 guests so well.

Great little unknown gem my sister got married here and it such a nice place totally recommend.

Angela, and the other staff was amazing. Manager or supervisor, Sonja, just standing around hands on hips with a scowl on watch the party. If she needs to be in the room at least make her float around and actually do something and maybe smile once and a while. As someone from the industry seeing a supervisor do that is the most demoralizing thing they can do. SHAME.

St. George Banquet Hall is flexible enough to adapt to your group and budget, small, medium or large halls that are clean, with large tables and covered chairs, wonderful backdrops and chandeliers. Wait staff is friendly and efficient, great experience overall.

I came here for a wedding and it was simply beautiful the food was excellent. I wish the servers paid more attention to the guests since there was no water for people who were drinking.

My fiance and I have booked our wedding venue here. We have worked with both Brani and Mike. They are both so personable and kind. They have done everything they can to fit our needs. I have no doubt in my mind that they will make our wedding day as amazing as possible!

We had a team building event here and I wasn't impressed. The pastries didn't come out until after the half hour window we had to enjoy them. I had to ask for napkins as none were put out. But the worst was the mold we found on at least two of the baked goods. That is simply unacceptable.

Water service was slow as was getting used dishes cleared.

Then at lunch we got sad looking vegetables.the cauliflower had brown spots all over it, as did the mini carrots and the broccoli had seen better days.

Not only was nothing prepared fresh, but it seemed like things were prepared days (plural) ahead of the event.

Not impressed at all.

Thank you to St. George Banquet Hall for making my wedding so memorable! The venue is beautiful and the staff are so professional. I never had a worry the whole day. I'm so thankful I chose this hall and will recommend to all my family and friends.

I had my wedding at saint George's banquet hall and I can say that it was aswom. The food, the place, the service, honestly everything was great. Congratulations to all of you Serbian guys! You are doing excellent job!

Wow.for a banquet hall that has been around a while they sure are amateurs. Dinner dishes left on tables through dessert. No water service at tables at all apart from one glass when you arrive. Music through dinner was a 6 song recording that kept repeating over and over. No excuse for something so simple to rectify. Would not recommend to anyone. Best to look elsewhere.

Attended for a gig as a DJ, one of the staff members called my assistant, and I quote “a b*tch” for leaving the door open while we were unloading our equipment from the venue at the end of the night. Left a bad taste as we were all just trying to do our job.

A great place to host a large function. We had our Christmas party here for a few years and decided to try other places. We came back this year. Good parking. Good food. Very versatile. The only thing I could offer is they figure out a better system for having a tab at the bar. For larger groups, you need flexibility. They worked with me for a tab and I was thankful. But I know many others that would have liked the ability to have a tab. That would have allowed them to easily use corporate funds or one payment option etc. But other than that, I would recommend St George Banquet Hall. See you next year.

This place was.closed so I went in to an empty very uneasy feeling building I went here by accident we pulled over to look at the GPS and we ended up beside a cemetery with graves all looking ancient we decided to look at them and about a bit more then half were children most were just a small rock for a grave and all were no older then about 1 year old most were not even a week old they were all from the early 1900 time some went back to 1830 the healthcare must of been terrible all those children we thought the building was a mausoleum and I didn't believe there's one in the outskirt of Kitchener so we stopped and went in it wasn't one thank god don't know what I was thinking even going in to see if it was but anyways conclusion I don't know much about this place just that its no mausoleum and its likely a place a lot of homeless bums go for the night.
