Purchased a 1/4 chicken with rice and olives. Food portion was too small. That chicken was so tiny. Having said that, it was delicious

We ordered the half-grilled chicken which was very flavourful and the sides of potatoes and rice very uniquely flavoured, the ambience had a light music and happy staff. There was an air of positivity.

I would definitely recommend visiting here.

Don’t give people rotisserie chicken at the end of the day if they ask for grilled.slapping rotisserie chicken on the grill for 5 minutes because you think no one will notice.if you don’t have it you don’t have it.

Strongly recommend St. Matthew's BBQ chicken not only for their grilled chicken but for the other item choices on the menu. I especially loved the marinated spicy green olives.

I love Portuguese Food so much and St. Matthew's Restaurant is just the best in Town, their food is aways fresh, delicious and the crew is very friendly.

This is by far the best Portuguese chicken place in Toronto, and I have been to many. I drive from Pickering just to get it. Not only do they have chicken, but they also have calamari and other food as well. Everything they sell is delicious.

Great authentic Portuguese food. We ordered dinner for 4 and fed 6 comfortably and still had left overs. Staff are super friendly and accommodating. Everyone agreed that we will be back.

Fantastic take out spot. Went before closing and they still had a very good selection. Got the family meal with cod, octopus and pork/clam. Was delish! Great service too.

The Chicken is probably the best BBQ "Frango" done in the traditional Portuguese style that you'll find in Toronto.
There's a few other good meats too like the ribs (also very good).

But stay away from their hot sauce.
It tastes like they just put Frank's Red Hot hot sauce into a container - It is NOT like the typical Piri Piri Portuguese hot sauces you'd usually get from Portuguese "Churrasqueira" restaurants.

Also very friendly staff.

If you live in Scarborough. You've got to come to the West to try this. If you're from Brampton you've better come. Heck if you're from Vancouver you've got to come and try this!
Best grilled chicken in town! No matter what you have. Chicken, beans, fish. IT IS AWESOME! I've had Christmas dinners with their food! You will not regret it. It truly is savoury!

I no this place for many years I use to no your father I have not been there for a few years I think you are the son as I went there today you are doing a good job keep it up.

I live across churrasqueira estrela but a friend told me to try this place. Not only was the chicken dry the rice was also hard like it was made the previous day. I want to support the local businesses but if the food is not that good what can you do

Today was my first time ordering from here (for the Easter weekend) and I have to say that I am already addicted! The food is absolutely fantasic and tastes like high quality homemade food, made with the freshest of ingredients. The service was also great- very quick (despite a very long lineup outside) and extremely friendly and with all of the covid protocols in place.
On top of it the prices seemed more than fair with some great specials (tues, wed and thurs between 2-5).
I will be back for more on weekly bases:)

I have been coming to St Matthews for years now as they are my local neighborhood favorite especially on the weekends when we don't feel like cooking; and let me tell you quality chicken! The rice is delicious and potatoes are soft and flavorful. They also do large portions for reunions and birthdays. I ordered a large takeout order last weekend for my family, and we wanted to keep some leftovers for the week and WOW! You truly cannot beat the price and the quality is never compromised! An added bonus is that all the staff members here are friendly and the service is stellar!

First time ordering chicken from this location and I wasn’t happy with the flavour and texture of the chicken. It was extremely dry and lacked flavour big time. I wanted to try something different from my usual chicken place I order from to see what other chicken restaurants have to offer, but this one wasn’t it. Will not order again.

Best BBQ chicken in town. Been coming here for years. Dont go anywhere else. The staff is wonderful. I will keep coming here.

I have to agree with the review before mine. Ordered from uber eats. Driest chicken I ever had before. They reheated everything.not fresh AT ALL.

Ordered on Uber eats for delivery. We ordered one of the family meals. Grilled chicken was very dry and potatoes were terrible also. Definately not fresh and seemed like they just reheated everything. I can't believe this place was rated the best BBQ chicken in Toronto, not even close.

I come to this excellent restaurant many times since I like the special atmosphere that is unique to this place. The team is highly welcoming and experienced. The service is extremely quick. Most important, the food they cook is exceptionaly good. I came often and I was always satisfied. The expense is fair. I recommend this place to all my friends.

The meals and service were ahead of my expectations. I really loved the atmosphere of this restaurant. Superb place to take my family out for dinner.

St Matthews BBQ catered for my sons birthday today, the owner was fantastic to deal with. The process was easy and efficient. The food came a little bit early, was nice and hot delivered from Toronto labelled with the time it was cooked. The grilled chicken was phenomenal and the whole tray of potatoes was demolished so quickly! The food was affordable and their branding van was so cool to see. We received so many compliments about the food. Will definitely order again for a large group, very impressed.

Had a good experience here with my son. The food was served fast and the customer service is just excellent. Prices are fair.

This restaurant is obviously one of the coolest restaurants in the neighborhood. Whenever I visit this place I am so pleased. They always keep their high level service and the topmost level of dishes they serve. You definitely will enjoy this this restaurant. Warmly recommended.

This place is my favorite restaurant. Of all restaurants I know I love it most. I always suggests to my friends to go to visit this restaurant.everytime I want to go to a proper meal, this place comes straightaway to my mind.outstanding and all kinds of food and a large menu.helpful staff, and agreeable atmosphere. Tasty chicken and beef ribs. Their service is fast and they always take time to make sure your happy. Be sure to add some of that sauce to your food as it’s not too spicy but adds a ton of flavor. Enjoy your eats here. Just as an aside they once opened their doors for me earlier just to make sure I made it to work without an empty stomach:) Those actions go a long way for their customer base. I’m loyal for life. Great food and owners.

Great bbq chicken. They have a lot of Portuguese and some Brazilian items in the menu. The food is not too expensive, and it feeds a battalion. Mostly a take out place. They are generally really accommodating to orders as long as warned in advance about it.

I've been going here for sometime. The food was always good but ever since they came back from a hiatus the food got even better. So did the service. Highly recommended if you like Portuguese

Came in with a small group and we all had the 1/4 chicken dinner. Very pleased. Fair price for the meal and it was very filling. Some of the best potatoes I've had. Very interested in trying out their other dishes, the area is just so out of the way. Slight language barrier for non-Portugese speakers but generally good service. Seating was pretty casual but at least it was clean.

Usually this place is good, but I just had the worst Portuguese quarter chicken meal of my life today. The chicken was awful but the rice and potatoes were delicious.

I don't think I will be ordering from here again. It would be 1 star if it wasn't for past history and decent potatoes.
