The best team I have dealt with in a very long time. Dr. Von Aesch is absolutely amazing. The nurses, especially Andrew & Candice are amazing also.

For the most part everyone is usually on the ball and very friendly. My doctor does care a lot as well and has great referrals for specialists when needed.

I did just have an annoying incident while away on vacation and not being able to get my medication faxed over to my pharmacist who was ready to work with a local pharmacy, despite the urgency - lots of miscommunication on this one (and if anyone at the clinic is wanting to discuss this, am definitely open to review what happened!).

They have an on duty doctor as well which is helpful when your family doctor isn't in and you need to get in to see someone.

There is staffing shortage all across Canada, so not surprising to see people talking about their long wait times here.

Had an unpleasant experience asking for mental health support services because the person on call scoffed at me and made a dismissive joke. My family doctor seemed to be on autopilot asking a list of preplanned questions and not allowing me to elaborate on anything.

I can't even be upset because I know health care providers are probably burnt out right now and they could be feeling mentally distressed as well. But just incase they do read these reviews: a little compassion towards a patient can go a long way.

I went there to ask someone to check my eye, which was swollen and hurts, a rude woman said there is no one here right now to check me, and I need to get an appointment, I don’t understand, was she blind! She saw my eye but she said I need to get an appointment and someone call me to see a doctor and don’t know how long it takes! She was not helpful and was so rude. I didn’t know for emergency situation I need to get an appointment in advance! Like a week before anything happened, you need to predict for an emergency situation!

Terrific place with wonderful doctors, nurses and administrative staff. My clinic for the last six years.

REALLY long wait times, almost impossible to get through to even make an appointment just to get a call a week later to say it's cancelled! Front-desk staff is rude and borderline arrogant

Except for the social worker I am very satisfied with all the services provided. I have received all the attention required with respect and professionalism especially by my Family Doctor. I suffer from general anxiety and depression and suspect I am on the autism spectrum. For me it's not always easy to explain what's going on in my mind and how I am feeling and why I am feeling this or that way. I saw the social worker back in 2019 and felt uncomfortable from the beginning. Her attitude felt a bit hostile but I gave her a chance. The first session she made me do this tapping thing. I've read about that years before and found that it doesn't work for me; however, I didn't say anything and left her office feeling conflicted. I completed my six sessions because I needed to talk to someone but no tapping. I was referred to her again. I was a bit sceptical but I decided again to give her a chance and because my appointment with the psychiatrist is in August and I thought it would help to talk about my issues to someone else. My appointment was for Wednesday on the phone. She called on time but apparently there were problems with the phone what I felt somehow it was my fault (no problem with all my other doctors appointments before). Anyway, she gave me an appointment for next day, yesterday afternoon. From the beginning I felt uncomfortable and I left feeling even worse. Her attitude is always hostile and arrogant and her body language is screaming at me that she just doesn't give a darn about my problems. She makes zero effort to try to follow my way of thinking and to try to understand the way I am feeling. So I wonder how someone like that can be of any use to someone who is dealing with mental illness. If I was feeling anxious when I went to see her I was on edge when I left. I told her I didn't want to talk to her ever again. I feel defeated and hurt when I was supposed to get the care I needed to feel better.

I had problem on my left hand. Dr. Graham Gaylord referred me to make an ultrasound in Sumac Creek Lab. I came there and wait 25 min. Then I received an answer that my procedures couldn't be made and was transferred to the next week. Next week I came again, wait in the almost empty (no patients) waiting hall for 30 min. Then.receptionist called my name and said that my procedure was cancelled without any reason.
I must to come again after 1 week.
No any explanations made. Why it's happened to me?
Please, find out the reason. I wish to know the name of tge person who refuse to make an ultrasound procedures.
Thank you! Truly, Julia

I’ve been a patient since they’ve opened. My MD and all of the MDs I’ve met here are great, so are the nurses and NP. However there’s room for improvement for telephone reception. They need more training on recognizing when a patient should be booked to speak with an RN for triaging. I’ve been turned away a few times and have had to seek for a walk in clinic after hours/weekend. Then learned that I could have been seen by an MD if I was booked in their urgent slots. Some reception don’t even take the extra effort to inquire if your concern is urgent and only offer the next appointment, which is often a month away. I’ve also been booked incorrectly, wrong date. The email booking is the most useless, might as well not have it at all. Every time I email, I end up having to call. Their responses are slow, they misread my requests and the most frustrating was when they emailed me back a 1.5 weeks later with a cookie cuter message saying they had no email consent on file and therefore can’t book me in. They did have my consent, whoever replied didn’t check. Very frustrating and a barrier to healthcare.

Having St Mikes as my family care was the best decision I made for my health. The doctors are exceptional, the staff are great and the availability of resources and their ability to utilize technology to optimize their service is outstanding.

Not to mention the after hours walkin that are available as well, very helpful.

My fiancee has been on hold for over 45 minutes waiting to cancel an appointment that took a separate 30-minutes-on-hold phone call to schedule in the first place. Absolutely ridiculous.

Singular access point to the clinic is an elevator that wasn't working one time when I went by, so I just wasn't able to go to the doctor that day. I asked where the stairs were, but nobody was able to answer me. Appointments constantly run late. Every time I go, my appointment starts at least 30 minutes later that it was supposed to. Extremely limited evening hours makes this very inconvenient for people who work during the day. If you make an evening appointment for an acute condition, expect to be seen a month or more later. Clinic seems to have lost my consent form which allows them to contact me by email. The staff are mostly friendly and professional, and I appreciate that they do their best, but this is a very frustrating place to have to deal with.

Great staff that support the community, thanks. And the venue itself is clean and uplifting. Always feel better when leaving. Thanks

Dr. Samantha Green Please Treat patients with the dignity and respect they deserve.
I literally had to stand my ground to receive treatment as she had refused to treat me and said she has other people who have more urgent needs than my own. I was in excruciating pain on my leg. I refused to leave until I received treatment.

When I first went toSumach Creek Health Centre, I saw a Dr. Von Aesch and she was terrific and very compassionate and helpful.
In recent times, I have been unable to get appointments with her and got appointments with other staff, who, although kind with me, they seem to have no knowledge of my problems like Dr. Von Aesch does.
But she is so busy and booked up I can't see her when something urgent comes up.
There seem to be too many patients and not enough staff. Even calling for a nurse, no one calls back.
I am very disappointed at the quality of care and would like to go elsewhere.

I went today to ask for a family doctor and I saw a young man who rolled up his eyes after giving some medical explanation to an old sick man. A very similar situation happened with the information tattooed girl after she talked to an asian lady who could barely speak english. I feel sorry for these people, unfortunately, they are the ones who need more help

Doctors and medical side of this facility is amazing. Hoewever, the lab to get blood work done is absolutely horrible. Just spent over 90 minutes to get blood work done. Disorganized as my partner and I checked in back-to-back but I was seen and it took them another 25 minutes to see her. I have continued to use these people simply for the convenience to my doctors, but this was the final straw. Not to mention their hours are very inconvienient towards people who work.
Medical side 5/5
Lab side 2/5

The doctor and care I received are wonderful, however dealing with payment is a nightmare. I’m moving from a different province (which apparently they’ve never dealt with.seriously?) so my OHIP hasn’t started and I received a bill by mail. I need a receipt to get reimbursed by my former province so I must pay in person. I went to the address on the invoice (Sumac Creek) and they acted like I was an alien (“pay a bill? Here? ”). They redirected me to 1 Queen St which is a mall and definitely is not part of St. Michael’s. I called the number and ext number on the bill and the woman who answered was nice and helpful, but was also shocked that her name and number were in the bill. Has no one in Ontario ever paid a bill in person? Also it’s 2019, no I don’t use checks. Get your act together people-know the information that people need and if you don’t know, don’t treat your customer like they’re aliens, just try to find the info and be a reasonable human.

The medical imaging & blood lab front line staff are very very rude, the male staff particularily tends to treat people depending on their color or origin, he could be laughing and smiling with one patient and when the next one comes he is rude and doesn’t answer a hello or a thank you. I just wonder how come staff constantly act this way knowing that this isnt the first time I face such a situation. Who follows up on such complaints and makes sure they do not occure again? The staff on the other side where the doctors are much better and more professional. It is so sad that we have to deal with such people constantly and complaints are not take seriously

This centre is connected to the Hospital making it easier and faster to have tests and work done at St. Michaels. Friendly doctors and reception staff. The doctors always seem to go the extra mile to make sure all of your concerns are dealt with and followed up with after.
The after hours clinics are good, although having a 24- hour one would help in certain situations.
I have been very happy with the treatment and services received here.

By far the best healthcare provider I've ever had. The team are exceptional and extremely compassionate. I highly recommend SCH to anyone looking for a new family doc.

Was referred here as health on 410 was not taking on any new clients. I arrived 15 minutes prior to my appointment as i figured there'd be some documents to fill as it was my first visit. The doctor had me wait for 50 minutes, the receptionist called for him twice and he never showed. I understand you sometimes have to wait to be seen as other appointments take more time and can backlog a doctors schedule. When the doctor finally arrived, he made a joke that he only had me waiting for a few minutes and it wasn't a big deal - not funny. Trying to keep things light as it was my first meeting with a potential family doctor i brushed it off. During my appointment the doctor introduced himself, told his story and informed me about the new facilities. A number of times i would move the conversation to the reason for my visit (depression and cold- most likely strep throat) and he would reply "we'll come back to that" then keep on with his line of conversation. Finally when i had begun to discuss the reason for my visit (depression, ive suffered from it since i was a child) he asked if i was on any medication of if id like to be. He then simply told me "depression is a scale and people fall into different points on that scale". Ok. He then abruptly told me he requires a medial diagnoses before "believing that i suffer from depression". He then asked if there was anything else of concern, i told him i had been unwell for some weeks with no improvement. He then abruptly ended the conversation stating he had requested the medical documents form my previously diagnosed depression and told me to book a follow up appointment in two weeks. I did not get any help with my depression or sickness, i went to a walk in clinic the next day where i was diagnosed for the strep throat and had to get antibiotics. The physician offered me no help and my appointment with him was a complete waste of time.

Urgent care on weekends my ass.
I waited 3 hours and still there were so patients ahead of me equaling 3-4 more hours of wait. My husband has pneumonia. He was shivering, dizzy, coughing, high fever, shortness of breath. Lucky he didn't need to call 911 but those patients weren't even sick! Even the receptionist and doctors say the same! They came for regular check ups or small things. Only a few were in need of urgent care. In the end, me and my husband left without even seeing a doctor.he couldn't wait so long. Very disappointed! The head needs to do something about this. This isn't acceptable at all.
