One of my best driving school experience, I have 3 international licenses for more than 25 years and this was by far best learning experience ever. Thanks to my instructor Tariq who have unique teaching techniques and method, really helped me to learn fast, he changed the approach to meet my specific requirements and I got my G in my first attempt that too in less than 2 months in Canada. My grandfather, Lucius got me started driving his pickup truck in Trinidad. However, the driver was on the right despite it is a British colony. I did a lot of practice during this time in his yard.

After my grandfather left, six years later, we couldn't find someone to take me out for a test drive. Thanks to Tariq, he did an excellent job explaining the concepts while driving, including the maneuvers. Now I can master those driving techniques wherever and whenever I drive. And now that I passed, I have my G2 and I can finally find a way to drive to and from school.

I would recommend this driving school to anybody that just got their g1. When I was doing my in car driving lessons I was taught by Rafi. He's very nice and will take time to teach you how to drive correctly if you did a mistake. Though, his teaching is very straight forward, he is always confident in your driving and lets you take your time to learn. I've passed the g2 road test after taking many driving lessons with him and I can say without a doubt that he is one of the greater driving teachers.

Fully recommend this place to go if you want to improve the safety of your driving. Before doing the in person driving lessons, I knew how to drive but I wasn't fully aware of my surroundings whenever I drove. As a result, making me a pretty un-safe driver. However, when I first met Rafi (my driving instructor) on my first lesson, I knew straight away that I was going to be a better driver than before. My instructor Rafi was a brilliant, understanding and patient guy, who always taught me by the rules in a positive manner. In addition, he taught me how to completely and properly change up all my bad/unsafe driving habits such as (not fully stopping at stop sign, not often looking at the blind spots, etc.), which ultimately made me an excellent and a much safer driver by the end of the final lesson. To add on, Rafi is also an amazing and kind person to chat with - he gives advice to pretty much anything and will also find ways to resolve any issues that you might be dealing with. Overall, this place is a 5/5 and I'm proud to say that I also recently completed the G2 exam on my first attempt due to how prepared I was, and will 100% come back to work on my G test!

This course was just a waste of time and money. The instructor, Rafi Khan was a rude person. Even the course management is really poor. They don't pick up the phone or answer emails when it comes to complains. They ruin your self-confidence from the beginning, by telling you that you need more than 10 hrs. They don't teach you properly. All they care is about money! If you are a beginner don't go to this course. You will definitely regret it.

Had a very good experience learning to drive with Sabir uncle, he is very patient and very good at teaching driving techniques to help pass the driving test.

Today, I passed my G2 road test.  I am very lucky to have Haji Sahib Sabir as my instructor. He is very patient, encouraging, and calm. Moreover, he treats his students as his friends. He gave me a lot of confidence during these training sessions, explaining various techniques clearly, pointing out my mistakes very friendly, and providing suggestions for improvement very timely. Teachers are not made, they are born. I passed my G road test today with Instructor Sabir, and every minute of every lesson was worth it. I also passed G2 with him before, and my sister also passed her G2 and G with this school. Despite the lockdowns, the test cancellations, and the winter weather.this academy delivered with high quality teaching and good social skills. The competitor schools and instructors are truthfully lower quality and non-existent in Durham region, and I speak from experience.

My daughter did online lessons, which was not ideal but worked out fine during COVID, and had Abdul as her in car instructor. He was amazing. She would frequently talk about what she learned and what tips he gave to her. I would recommend this driving school.

Tariq is great at teaching! He was super helpful and kind. I have memory problems but he was very patient with me at repeating everything a lot. My test was fast approaching and I only had 2 weeks to prepare for it. I had previous driving experience from other country, so my biggest struggle was remembering canadian laws. He taught me to drive safely and I passed my G2 test today. I am so happy! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I passed my G road test in my first attempt on Dec 8th 2020 after taking almost 10 one hours classes and all credit goes to my instructor Sir Sabir. He easily caught my weak points and kept focusing on them till I got a good handle on it. He kept emphasizing on how every aspect needs to be attended to turn me into a knowledgeable and responsible driver. He shared real test taking examples of his other students and what did and did not work for them. My examiner was very strict and I am quite sure I would have failed without the prep and information I received during my in car classes. Thank you I am grateful!

I was an incredibly anxious driver and when I called the school and asked for a VERY patient driving instructor they referred me to Sabir Ahmed. From the first lesson to the last lesson he offered encouraging words and believed that I can do it. Sabir is very through in his lessons and prepared me for my G2 test. I went from knowing nothing about driving to now passing my G2 test today. I could of not done it without Sabir Uncle, he was flexible in working around my schedule as a working professional. He is THE BEST driving instructor I could of ever asked for. I highly recommend him and he will surely be my driving instructor for my G test.

Misleading price. Gold package was listed as $485 online but they were asking for $593. At least be up front about it.

Both the in-class lessons and driving lessons were very helpful for me. Although it took a lot of extra hours for me to finally get used to driving, my driving instructor, Sabir, made an effort to come through and help me better prepare for my g2 test (which I passed on the first try!). It's extra money for the extra lessons, but it's worth it overall if you're not exactly a 'born-driver'.

I passed my G2 test today and all the credit goes to my instructor Sabir sir, he is very positive, kind, and patient. He encouraged me when I first started to learn driving and helped me get over my nervousness. I want to thank Sabir sir for all the encouragement, support, and fantastic teaching skills. When I started my lessons with him, I did not know anything but he taught me everything I need to know to be a safe and confident driver.

I took a couple refresher lessons with Tariq before my G road test to refine and refresh some of the concepts. He provided a lot of very helpful tips and a lot of the reasoning on why certain rules and procedures are in place which makes it easier to understand why you have to do certain things. I passed my G road test on the first try. Also Tariq was very punctual and responsive to text messages.

Standard Academy of Driving has been incredible! The in class lessons with Tariq were engaging and informative, I learned a great deal in them. My in-car lessons with Uncle Sabir exceeded my expectations. He was easy to communicate with, friendly and constantly gave positive feedback. Throughout the course of the total ten hours, Uncle Sabir taught me the necessary skills of driving, and made me comfortable in front of the wheel of a car. I used his car for my G2 test and passed on the first try! I would like to say that standard driving school is the best, and also to my driving instructor Mr. SABER AHMED he help me for my g2 and I got it in my first attempt I never had experience driving before but he gave me the confidence that I need, and yesterday once again he help me for my G driving test and I find it again on first attempt, I would like to recomend him and standard school to anybody, thank you standard school and Mr. Saber.

I contacted Tariq a week before my test, although I contacted him super last minute, he was able to schedule me 8 hours of driving lessons as well as the use of his car on the day of the test. Tariq was very kind, patient, and an excellent teacher. I passed my test on the first try. I tried 2 other instructors (only did 1 or 2 lessons with them) and was not left satisfied. I just passed my g2 test this morning thanks to Sabir! From the very beginning he treated me like his daughter and was very encouraging. Besides him being a great teacher, before my test he had me drive around the Drive Test centre in Oshawa where the examiner would possibly take me for my test so I know what to expect which was very helpful. I’m very pleased with my driving Instructor Mr. Sabir Ahmed. He is very through and customer centric. Not only he helped me to pick up all the rules of parallel parking and reverse parking but also showed me techniques to do adjustment based on my driving behaviour.
