I recently had an unfortunate experience with the manager while considering a printer purchase. Despite my suspicions, he insisted that the printer was brand new, only to later admit otherwise when confronted. It's disheartening when a manager lacks transparency and integrity. The attempt to offer a discount after being caught in the lie. Honest communication is crucial in business, and this incident fell short of those expectations.

Concerns Regarding Customer Service at Staples in Thornton

Dear Staples Management Team.

I wanted to share my recent experience at your store located at 1450 Clark Ave. While I understand the challenges that can arise in a busy retail environment, I felt compelled to bring this matter to your attention.

Upon visiting the store on 18- sep-23 around 12: 15pm, I encountered a notable lack of customer service. I stood at The print shop counter for approximately five minutes without receiving any acknowledgment. During this time, I observed that there were seven staff members present, two of whom were moving about but did not extend a greeting or acknowledge my presence.

It was only when a gentleman, who seemed to possess leadership qualities, took it upon himself to approach me while I was providing details for my order, that I received assistance. I found it disheartening that out of seven staff members, only one took the initiative to offer help.

I believe in the importance of good customer service, especially in a well-established brand like yours. My intention in reaching out is to highlight the need for further training and emphasis on customer service within your team. While having a fully staffed store is advantageous, it is equally crucial that each team member can spare a brief moment to assist a customer promptly.

I kindly request that you consider this feedback seriously and take appropriate measures to enhance the level of customer service at your store. I believe that with improved training and a focus on customer satisfaction, your store can better uphold the reputation of your brand.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to seeing positive changes in the future.

Nice and helpful staff, Bahareh assisted me with printing numerous pictures and even facilitated the process of obtaining a refund from Amazon. She exhibited patience and wore a beautiful smile throughout my entire visit.

Every time I ask for a paper bag to put the printed paper in after doing a lot of printing here, the employees' faces change to one full of dissatisfaction.

I just had an extraordinary experience with a manager by the name of Bahar. I have a very time sensitive project that has both sentimental and practical needs. Bahar was a pleasure to speak with. She understood the nuances of my project and needs right away, and was able to deliver and work with my price point. Exceptional and kind customer service.

This staples is absolutely the worst. So much attitude with the staff. The Asian guy at the printer decided he didn't have time to explain how things work, when I asked a question, he would get defensive - on top of that proceeds to give me my prints as it is, no bag or anything, and then charges me for a "1-hour" order.

IF YOU HATE YOUR JOB THEN QUIT. NO ONE IS FORCING YOU TO BE THERE WITH A BAD ATTITUDE. If you're looking for a terrible customer service experience, staples on dufferin-clark is your GO TO.

To bad I can't put a negative star.

Lady in the refund area won’t accept the item I’m returning just because of the plastic packaging being “too wrinkly”. She suggested “I’m sure you’ll have something to use it with” Grumpy attitude and doesn’t seem like she likes her job. So go figure!

I would like to return the laptop. The first sales guy came to try to help. When he understand that I am returning it called someone. Then that guy called another one. Finally, one came over and said he is manager and start checking stuff. First he said bill is wrong, I showed him online bill. Then he could not find other reason and their system is not working. But still they sell something to others. Anyway, very poor customer service and childish brain work. Even 5 years old children can understand that you don’t want return products. Shame on you… You have to follow the rules

I was about to order an infrared forehead thermometer from a major online store, and decided to check the stores in my neighborhood first. It turned out that Staples had a product that looked to be the same device with these exceptions: (1) it was branded with a different name; (2) it lacked a colour-coded display, which was a non-essential feature for me; and (3) it was priced significantly lower. What was more, their web site showed me that this particular store had the product in stock. In short, I was able to make a quick run here and get what I needed immediately, from a local store and at a better price.

This Staples location itself is clean, spacious, well lit and well laid out. Staff are available and helpful; on this occasion I saw a staff member apparently stock taking and asked if I could interrupt them with a question. They immediately set out to help and were able to point me to the item location right away. If you have a small business, they also have several helpful services such as design and printing of business cards and posters and even banners complete with display hardware.

Sounds horrible to say, and obviously I don't know what he did that day or how hard he was working prior to me interacting with him, but one of their associates had fairly oppressive B. O.

This is the first time I come across such a horrible customer service. I came to return a notebook that I purchased a day before in a different branch. The owner asked me why won't I go to that branch and return there? ! I said because this branch is close to me. She said she won't accept it and told me to go there. It is only 10 minutes drive she said. Have you ever seen a chain store of this size that tells you to return in a different branch because she doesn't want to deal with returns? Shocking! I always wondered why that branch is empty when I walk in. Now I understand.

I won’t get into details, but this past Monday, they went above and beyond with their customer service for me. I had an online order pick up and it was a very quick and smooth transaction—from placing the order, confirmation that my order was ready, and the pick up itself.

This staples is usually well stocked. If you come at off peak times lineups are short. In store wifi is a great feature. Makes product info easily available. Plenty of parking at this location.

Staff aren’t helpful at this location, I wanted to figure out if a product was in stock and it took asking 3 different staff members to get the answer that they only had 1 in stock and it was likely in the back, it took another 10-15 minutes for someone to find the stock

My online purchase supposed to be ready in two hours. After two days of waiting for this store to fulfill my online purchase, went there to find out that they have canceled, without notifying me, and they are out stock too. Plus they cannot refund me, and I have to call to get my money back. No surprise that Staple stores are shrinking every day.

Only go to the Dufferin & Clark location if you like to be ignored by staff playing on their phones and pretending to look busy. After 15 mins of waiting at the counter and having to flag down staff they were unhelpful and clueless. I’ll just order through vista print.

Very limited supplies for what I needed and a strange billing system which I did not allow me to benefit from the 25 bonus air miles deal. For some reason the cashier insisted that I was not able to pay for all my items on one bill, so I lost out on the deal by a mere 2 dollars. She cashed out some items on a whole separate bill and no matter how much inquiring I did she would not budge. As well, I had to ask repeatedly for the $10 coupon that I was entitled to. I am going to stick to the Colossus Centre Staples from now on.

Understaffed. Not for quick shopping visits. They keep a lot of products in lockup so be prepared to wait 20+ minutes to buy $49 product. Amazon will take them out of business soon.

Worst customer service ever and they don't know anything about technology. If they're trying to sell you something, they will always opt for the most expensive items; regardless of your actual needs. The last time I waited half an hour just to get someone or anyone to help me find a product in the store. Staples is not a bad store - it's better to buy online and save yourself the hassle.

Went on a Sunday afternoon which was the 4th day of their back to school sale. The sale was decent as it certainly kicked Walmart to put their prices lower to at least match staples. In the past I've always gone on the 2nd or 1st day of their sale so it was good. But going today was crappy as it was picked clean of their sale stuff and I think staff were tired of answering questions if where was this and that. I did manage to find a few items that were still around but not everything on my list. Ended up going to Walmart for the remainder and it was more expensive for items that are not on the staples flyer. Lessons learned: always go at the beginning of the sale and target only the items on their flyer for the best deal

The worst printing service ever. Charged me for a service that is not even capable of bringing a good result. I ended up with a crappy print. I know print like my pocket since I've been working in the industry for years but the kind of service I received from your company was just unacceptable. For what reason you can not print a double sided card stock? Why on earth you charge 20 dollars for just flipping a paper? "Because its not automatic" and we need to do it manually says the rep. And why on earth your printer prints an overly saturated print? It ends us up my white texts turns yellow and black just literally blown up the whole page and cant even see my images? Ridiculous! I'll make sure that every designer I know not to use your service. I went home empty handed and paid for nothing.
