Went to Staples at University avenue with my brother and had one of the best shopping experiences we have ever had in Canada. Their customer service is top notch.
If you are ever there and need help, ask for Mr. Ankit. He is very helpful, and very considerate of your time and your experience at the store.

This Staples was amazing. The staff was super friendly. Place looked clean, I had some questions, which all were answered. I had to call a staples near me which disappointed me, because they didn't understand or weren't accommodating.

Love the location and the store but lately the staff have been very dismissive and express no interest to help customers. Today was the third time I went in to get help with a print product, I tried asking a staff member about compatibility and was shooed away and told “it’s over there at the bottom” before they turned away and continued the task they were doing prior to me inquiring. I checked the section out and still, my unanswered question remained, so naturally, I left and took my business elsewhere.

Online pickup experience is shoddy. Normally when you place an online order, you get two emails - one to say that your online order was received, the other that your item is ready for pickup. The last two orders I did not receive a email to pick up the items so I went instore to check. The Customer service rep was not knowledgeable about the process and was extremely dismissive. I had to insist that they check on the 2nd order I placed because they assumed it would not be ready. The item was there of course. Then they demanded 2 pieces of ID when their process only requires a valid photo ID. Get your act together Staples University. Seriously considering just not going there anymore - the inconsistent customer service really reflects poorly.

Very impressed by their customer service! It was easy to reach the tech department via the phone, they picked up quickly and helped me with my inquiry. When I went into the store and needed help finding something, the available staff members were quick to help and friendly.

I went out in search of a quietly operating keyboard and told the staff that I did not need help, but they persistently and sharply approached me repeatedly. At the end of the last test, I asked for a laptop inventory check, but was kept waiting for several minutes and explained the security features of the display in the store and why.
Lots of very attentive staff watching you and communicating with you wirelessly.

Come here if you want the worst and rudest customer service possible. The associates talk to you in a mocking manner when you ask specifications about a product. I asked about the durability and longevity of an SSD and the answer I got was “it will last if you use it how you are supposed to use”. I asked for an external ssd and they sold me an internal one. When I went to get a refund, it was as if it was my mistake and that I’m asking for a refund at their mercy. Never going back to this place.

Went to pickup my new FitBit Versa 3, and Matt helped me out with add'l warranty. Then he spoke with Preshit Kulkarni who manages the store's drop-in office environment. Preshit let me hang out and work in their tremendous work area that has many workstations, power plugs and even food and drinks. What a fabulous facility. Next time I need a temp office space, I know where to go. Thanks so much.

Just an absolutely terrible experience here. Came in to get four images printed on four 8.5x11 pieces of card stock. Called in advance to make sure it was doable, which I was told it was.

Arrived to be told that it was not, in fact, doable and that I’d have to submit an online order. I asked the woman working at the print shop how long it would take if I ordered online. She told me an hour. I live at University and Adelaide, it would have taken me thirty minutes to walk home, submit the order online, walk back, and pick up an online order. I explained this and asked whether the print centre could make an exception given the fact that walking home to submit an online order would take longer than just doing it in store, they said no because it was against company policy. I asked whether they could load four sheets of card stock into a self-serve printer so I could print it myself, I was told that it was “against company policy for employees to change paper in the printers”.

So thanks for nothing Staples. It would have taken you two minutes to load four sheets of card stock into a printer and print four jpegs from a USB stick. Instead you opted to explain all the bureaucratic reasons why you couldn’t help me out, which took longer.

This isn’t the first time your print shop has been absolutely useless. I came in one time to have images printed and your dull paper cutter ruined a stack of my images. When I asked if they could be reprinted, you charged me, even though I explained your paper cutter was dull and caused the issue.

So I went to the UPS Store on Elizabeth St, which was infinitely more helpful and was able to accommodate a request that was apparently far too complicated for your corporate policy.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. False advertising for the print shop. I ordered an image 2 weeks before I needed it - I was reassured it would be finished same day - took 3 weeks to be developed and Staples took 0 responsibility for it and refused to help and reimburse for their negligence. I will NEVER go back to Staples for a print - go to the The Printing House where they genuinely care about their customers and when they say same day, they mean it.

I placed an order for same-day printing, then when I had a question, nobody would answer the phone. I tried multiple departments over the course of 2 hours. I gave up, called another location, and was helped IMMEDIATELY. This location doesn't answer their phones and I should've read the other reviews before ever considering going to this location.

I really like what they've done to give the space an upscale look, and elegant feel. So, why only 4 stars? First, it's a challenge to be assisted by the staff because they are not easy to find on the floor. Secondly, when you do find personnel, their on their phone for personal use, which doesn't present a professional 'look. '

I had the worst experience getting a picture for my newborn done at this location. My husband went couple of days ahead of time to confirm they would be able to take passport pictures of our newborn and to get an appointment. They confirmed no appointments needed for that. The day we came, the staff working at the passport photo stand didn’t want to take our son’s pictures, we were told to better leave to another place because they could not spend the time required in they ting in picture done. Finally their manager came and asked them to get the picture done for us, it’s was -25 degrees outside and we couldn’t wander in the street seeking a photograph studio. They ended up taking the pictures of our son with his eyes closed, they assured us when babies are this young, the Government accept them like that. Our application came back rejected because of the pictures and now due to a backlog in passports at Service Canada, there are no appointments in person to get his passport done in time before our flight and we might need to en up cancelling our overseas flights.

This is a BIG Staples, omg! I couldn’t believe the size of their copy centre. Lots of machines even if people are using them there’s usually one available. The print staff are very friendly and I heard one young man walking an older customer through what to do, he was polite and took his time to answer their questions without making them feel annoying or stupid. He helped them scan the first and they were very thankful for his kindness. While I was flying around trying to get my thing to copy two on one page (is this even possible without printing twice on the same page?) it was nice to hear such a kind interaction between generations.

This location was renovated and has a different flow to it. Unlike some other Staples locations, it feels more like work pods throughout. It makes more sense as a customer. It does not have a wearhouse feel like other store. They have a coffee shop inside.
I placed an order online for in-store pickup. The pickup location is at the checkout on the northeast part of the store.
The entire process was super quick and easy.

The quality of the picture print out were horrible. It was no proper Foto paper, it has scratches, things were cut off different than portrayed, ordered pictures were missing. Definetly never again!

Wow the most amazing customer service. I just had my first ultrasound and the medical imaging clinic wouldn’t provide me photos but charged me for a CD. I went to staples and they were able to figure out how to print from the CD (since most places only have USB or phone print technology options now). Nadim was so kind and helpful I was honestly floored by his kindness. Just so lovely.

Normally good customer service at the store and good selection of office items. On a recent visit I was quite disappointed by the behaviour of one of the staff at the online pick-up section. Stood there for about 2 minutes while the staff ignored me with his head stuck in the computer. Not sure if he is a supervisor but the way he even dealt with the person who eventually retrieved my order was very dismissive.

Same day printing is a SUPER loose term around here. Two day printing is more likely. Make sure you open and go through all prints before leaving the store, as they are often low quality and missing 75% of what you ordered. The only reason they get any stars at all is RAY. What a lovely individual who takes his customer service job seriously. After multiple bad experiences with this Staples location and spending hours calling without ever getting through, Ray was an Angel who stayed past his shift to make sure all of his customers were taken care of

I was very happy with the service by Sri from print department (I haven’t asked his name but saw it on a name tag…hope I remember correctly). I went the store this afternoon for printing few pictures in very specific size. Even though I asked him about such minor things, he was willing to help me and provided the print exact size what i wanted. I am so thankful for his help and definitely recommend the print center to my friends!

Great place to make all your printing demands, with customer service to assist you when you need assistance. Also sell stationary for office use, equipment as well. Sell Laptops, Accessories for phones and laptops, batteries for wrist watches also sold here. PPE for Covid19 prevention (face masks, sanitizers etc) available. Pricey items but of good quality.

Logistical nightmare. I was forced to wait 10 minutes on the phone (on hold without answer) at curbside for someone to pick up the phone. The car in front of me decided to go knock on the window and we finally got someone’s attention. A simple curbside pick up turned into a 20 minute ordeal. The other car in curbside claimed he had been waiting several minutes before I arrived. Please do better

Staples is a nice, multifunction chain of stores. Before COVID-19, they started the shared office space concept and I was excited about it but it was a bit pricey! I think they should diversify and start selling art supplies as well!

I had to make copies today, but they’re not offering this service, so I scanned my documents and asked for them to be printed. I could not figure out if the online printing order was for one or all pages, the staff helped and checked for me. They said if only one page is printed after you pay, we will relaunch printing, with all documents without paying the double. Thank you today staff!:)

Purchased $800 worth of product online for in store pickup. Was told it would take 2 hours for my order to be ready. Almost 5 hours later and have not received any update. I tried calling the store several times, and not a single person picked up. If I'm suppose to call the store and notify them I'm there to pick up my order, and no one answers, what do I do? Leave and come back another day that's convenient for them? Ridiculous.

I received an email confirmation saying that my print order was ready to be picked up by 6pm, only to arrive at the store to find out that the store hours are from 12-5pm. The least you could've done was to reflect your newest store hours in the email. The store is not making lives easier for anyone during the pandemic.

WORST WORST WORST SERVICE EVER. I went to the store to check on the status of my order (2 ink cartridges!) which was ordered more than 2 weeks ago and i still didn't get a pick-up email. The staff had no idea what was happening, i stayed outside waiting and insisted to speak to the manager. The manager told me to call customer service to cancel my order and place a new one? Baring in mind that they had the ink cartridges in store and they told me they did. - 30 minutes outside the store, waiting for someone to answer. I wasn't able to get a hold off customer service and the manager was not helpful at all, until now i didn't get my order, how tough can it be to prepare ink cartridge? This is ridiculous.

Print Centre is awful. Notified me print was ready for pickup. Showed up at the door, they took 20 minutes to confirm the order was at this store, and then told me the order was still being printed.

I understand if you're busy and prints take longer than expected. But don't tell me it's ready when it's not.

They don't make eye contact with you, the talk over you, and they just seem like they would rather be anywhere but talking to you. Just horrible vibes. The jovial dude at the door that greets you doesn't help, when you are treated like garbage when you talk to the staff.

Sales staff does not even notice customers. Too busy chatting in a group. When I pulled one from the herd turns out the store had very little to offer in monochromatic all-in-one laser printers. I found plenty of choice online from Amazon. I wondered why I had bothered to go in. No one shows you merchandise (I might well have bought a tablet as well that day, but no one was selling). Missed opportunity.

Worst experience with customer service I’ve ever had, very disappointing. Called a day prior to ensure a fairly easy printing job could be done the next day, was quoted a reasonable price and wait time for the job. Spent 5x the amount and was quoted a 3 hour wait for a 2 minute job. They claimed that no one was available to do the job but suddenly when I agreed to pay express prices someone magically showed up. On top of that, there was a $14 increase to the express price I was told about, ridiculous and I’d speak to a manager if I had the time.

Never get anything printed here. They take forever, they never have anything ready day of even for very small jobs (like 1 item). Staff at the print desk are very unhelpful and very unwilling to do anything for you. And the quality of the print jobs they do are always subpar. The rest of the store is fine, looks nice, but not that much stock.

The worst service you could ever get!
Please don’t have Indians over your store!
Last week I got a big poster printed from them and they had the same number of staff and they handed over the poster in 15-20 min, but today the Indian girl said the wait time is 2 hours for letter-size gloss sheet!
When I said I wanna talk to the manager she went at the back and I could clearly see the manager lady was doing literally nothing said I am busy!

Worst staples ever. I went in at 7 pm for their one hour binding service. The woman said she doesn’t know how to bind so Id have to wait until tomorrow.

I picked up my material from them. When I came home I saw that they had photocopied my material, did not return the originals to me, and bound the photocopy. I wouldn’t have cared for this too much except they messed up the photocopy and missed some pages.

Worst part is they never pick up the phone. I’d have to commute back to the location and waste another few hours to get this fixed.

Extremely unprofessional.

Ordered photos to be printed online. Were not printed by the time promised online, and I waited in line for 15 minutes because they lost the document of the person in front of me in line and were idly searching for it for 15 minutes before giving up. While the one guy was slowly looking for the lost document, another was half helping another customer and half chatting with the third employee who was sitting in the back on the computer not once making eye contact with me or any of the other people behind me who were also waiting. Astounding incompetence. Then, when I got home, I realized that the quality of the pictures was quite bad.

On the other hand, they did print my photos in one day for a low price, but really the kids that are working here are terrible.

Called the University location to ask about Tech help for a laptop purchased at Staples.ca. The phone message stated that they are closed, please call back during opening hours, although it is currently 2: 20pm on a Saturday. Tried the Yonge/St. Clair store instead, and after navigating the automated operator, the system hung up on me. Looked online for a Contact Us link but this leads to the Print & Marketing page. Very frustrating and terrible service from such a well-known company.

Do not waste your time here! Came here twice and have been disappointed. I called the store in advanced to inquire about printing photos and if I can print on the spot like Wal-mart but when I got there the staff said they don't offer that kind of service. And then I called in advanced on a different occasion if I could use my own transfer paper just so I can print in colour with it and the man on the phone said it wouldn't be a problem and it would cost about 42cents a page. Then I when I went in and was shot down a second time saying they can't use my transfer paper even though it's the same size and thickness of the 8 by 11 paper. The lady at the counter said the people on the phone are just a customer service team and don't actually know the services that location provides, which I think is really pathetic because this means their staff on the phone are not knowledgeable and it waste mine time.

I ordered a sign for my suit and the print was not good on it. I ordered at the same time a stamp for my business and they did not find when i called, they did not find when i went there. It took forever to find it on their filing boxes. The graphic designer keep changing their prices once its done. (i have done this twice). When you try to get it right, no one is there to answer the phone nor was the foreign manager offer any relief. Basically it is chaos and not justifed to be so disconnected and It felt like I was wrong too.

Sarah from the print center went above and beyond for me last monday. She did everything in her power to provide excellent customer service, and she made an impact on me. I had an urgent print job, and she made the print process so easy for me. I highly recommend staples and Sarah (if you ever see her at the station)

I unfortunately have a very poor experience with the Print Services department at this particular location. I originally went on my lunch hour to get passport photos taken for a Canadian passport. The associate took my photos and told me to return in 30 minutes. I came back in over an hour and upon my arrival, the associate had yet to process and print my photos. She suggested that we retake the photos (I refused) and wanted to confirm if the photos were for a Chinese passport. They printed the photos and I went my merry way. When I went to Passport Canada to submit my renewal, I was rejected because the photos did not meet the specifications. They were shocked that Staples produced these as they are usually spot on with photos. I went back to the same location to have them redone (at no charge) and the associate manager took my photos (with the original associate taking note). I took the photos, went back to Passport Canada and alas, they were rejected because they did not meet the specifications for a Canadian passport. I quickly called my local Staples (who has serviced me before) and they told me to come by immediately to take my photos properly. They gave me two sets of copies of my passport photos and Passport Canada finally accepted my application. My local Staples was shocked to see the quality of photos from the University location as it was clearly evident they did not meet specification. I am definitely disappointed at the quality of service at this location as it created a great inconvenience for me. I am glad that the Staples close to me saved me. I do not recommend this location for this service.

Online orders for copies and prints should be with the online order line. I ordered it that way so I didnt have to wait what felt like 30 minutes for staff to help customers design a book. Either that or please prioritize people who will only take a minute.

Probably the biggest of all Staples around. It's merch space has gone through a bit of shortage due to their new extension of business growth. They have an auditorium, a meeting place with available coffee, a workspace and few isolated private meeting rooms like the ones in the library that you can get at a fair price of 24$/ hour or more. The poeple there are pretty decent too. There's also a food or cafetaria area inside the staples where you can get snacks and drinks.in other words its an all inclusive customer service area where you can work or carry out work related meetings of your own or work long hours over internet and in case if you need something, it's right within your reach. I believe this place has a great potential towards customer acquisition, retail growth in a much more dynamic aspect. I went there couple of times and found the services there are pretty decent along with the products, situated right at the heart of business are it is always filled with people who are working on their own business and also good environment in terms of customer service. They recently added a few more computer stations in the printing area too.

Ian in Tech Services helped me when my 5 year-old laptop was broken. I was hesitant at first fearing the problem would not be fixed or I'd be pressured to buy a new computer. But in just over a week a new part was installed and the computer was returned. It now works just as good as the day I bought it and I'm so glad I spent the money on repairing it instead of replacing.
