I've had an incredible experience at Star Security, where I worked almost three years. While I was working, I gained a lot of knowledge and skills. The work environment is remarkably friendly, and the Human resource manager Laurie, had a great professionalism and was very helpful to the guards.

He was quick to respond to our needs and are accommodating for guards specific requests. I highly recommend Star Security for its transparent and professional approach encouraging open lines of communication and a consistently positive attitude.

I wish I can give no star.really really bad customer service I applied for a job and I got interview date for zoom meeting and on the day of meeting I joined meeting on time ands I was waiting in waiting room and call was disconnected and when I tried to call back they removed me and when I tried to call in office they told me we can help and rebook and disconnected rudely and know me call is going on voice mail. They are so rude staff member who don’t know how to speak and deal with customer.

My mother was homeless, she had a place in the Bond Place Hotel in central Toronto which is shut down now, but they had kicked her out of the hotel and stole all her stuff, I think Star Security is thankfully shut down now!

Most unprofessional staff I've ever seen. Fan expo needs new security staff I don't have enough fingers to caught how many security guards I've seen on their phones and not paying attention to the people coming in the building. Thank god for the MTCCC Security.

Incredibly rude and dismissive staff. Will easily ruin the energy of any event you use them for. Diminishing the quality and perception of any venue or event. Effectively mediocre.

We are currently at Boots and Hearts and a security agent lifted a suitcase on to our roof during check-in and scratched it down to the metal on Thursday Aug 4th at approx 9: 30am in entry lane 13.

She scuffed the side panel with a minor scratch but the roof is the worst part.

She was apologizing profusely and said she has no idea why she did that. She told us to talk to her supervisor Ricky.

Let's just say dealing with that "supervisor " for Star Security has been the most ridiculous, unprofessional and down right rude experience. Attitude, eye rolls, brush offs and arrogance are just a few of the ways I can describe him.

He basically tried to first send us away and didn't want to deal with us.

He proceeded to tell us to go find his agent that damaged our roof before he'd give us the time of day.

We found her and she told him everything that happened and she offered her apologies to us once again.

Ricky's response to her confirming the damage? He said go back to our tent site and he'd come by to assess the damage for himself.
He went on to say that if he didn't come by that same day, for us to come back to the gate a second time on Friday.

We just walked all the way back to the front gate again on Friday to find Ricky since he never came by on Thursday.

We were met once again with his glowing arrogance and he simply said he spoke to his supervisor and that Star Security isn't responsible for damage caused by their agents and that we have to deal with Boots and Hearts directly to have it fixed.

If we don't get a resolution to this before the end of the event, I'll file a police report with the OPP that's on site. We're basically being denied insurance information to file a claim and you can't do that.

Boots and heats fest. Rikki would not allow me to drive on to grounds to pick up my daughter with a disability to load up the car with camping stuff. When I attempted to access by foot to start handbombing everything back and forth to the parking lot, he wouldn't let me do that either because I didn't have a wrist band. This was after the event was finished by the way. When I told him one of my girls is in a wheel chair and can't do this by herself his response was that she should of read the terms of the ticket and it's our own fault. He also refused to provide me with his security license which tells me he doesn't have one. What a joke of a company. I've contacted diamond and diamond law and am pursuing a legal matter due to the discrimination.

Don't blame the city wide ban on no facial hair for guards. They treat Sikh guards like trash and used them throughout the pandemic, now they lay them off. Pathetic.

I'm just watching CP24 reporting on the eviction of homeless people from Lamport Park.
In the background I can see individuals with Star Security on their clothes.
They are doing their part by watching the cops do the heavy lifting.
Maybe the city should forget about hiring private security and ask some biker gangs to help do the job. They would likely enjoy the work.
It's a shame that we as
taxpayers are paying a 1st class constable $104,491.87 per year to act as bouncers.
Star Security, make a proposal to the city that, with proper training, you can do these camp clearing jobs for much less than $50/hr.

Based on conversations with guards assisting with forced evacuations of people experiencing homelessness in the City of Toronto, on can tell that the guards are ill equipped to handle complex situations. No adequate training is provided in terms of conflict resolution or de-escalation techniques. History will not look kindly on the role this company played in human rights abuses and state sponsored terrorism. Do NOT USE them!

Not professional and not responsive.

One guard disrespected people in an isolation centre saying things aggressively, condescendingly and incorrectly for no good reason and he is only supposed to open doors.

This individual is supposed to open doors for people with an electronic button but he fails to do that one thing because he's on his phone.
That's all he gets paid for and he can't even open a door for safety reasons. You can see his arm bent holding his phone in his hands in the image.

I asked for the individuals security guard license number and he refused. Anyone can ask for this and the guard can not refuse this request or a compliant can be issued to the ministry.

I asked to speak with his supervisor, and he refused again.

The general manager of Star Security, Jason, said he would look into it but that seems like an empty promise based on the lack of communication and action.
