Starr Burger

Finding that the quality and care for food is going downhill. Couldn't even eat my fries because there was so much salt on them. The wife's onion rings were overcooked (almost burnt) and the burgers were burnt and dry. I get being busy but people are willing to wait for their food. The staff looked overwhelmed and stressed. Not good for the final result. Not sure if I will go again, especially if they are busy. Food is not cheap and I would like the quality to be up to par for what we paid.

It’s was my first time at Starr Burger. I am from out of town. I was utterly disgusted by the way the owner treated his staff. The young girls were screamed at in-front of the customers multiple times, and the young men were degraded just as much. I truly felt bad for the workers as their customer was still somehow AMAZING! The food was fine, but I will never returned after seeing the way the staff were treated. My daughter works at a restaurant and if I knew she was treated like this I would NEVER send her there for work! I hope the best for the young girls their!

We went at around 8.35. They were almost closing, the seating was wrapped up. It took like 10-12 mins to cook the patties, another 7-8 mins to assemble and took us around 25 mins to get the full order.
In the end, the wait was too long. Decent burgers, above average.

I was so excited about my onion rings and this is the second time burnt. The onions were almost gone thats how burnt they were. Burger was pretty delicious.

The gf had a bacon cheese burger, I had chicken fingers. Both were fantastic, and the fries were so good. Food was great, service was very good. Cleanliness needs work the condiment station was loaded with fruit flies and the floors and table were sticky. But food was so good I will be back

Good burger. Great service. Had the Starr Burger Combo. Reasonably priced menu and more food than I could eat. Great job Starr Burger.

We are from the neighborhood so we get our burger there. The last two times out orders have been wrong. No double burger no sweet potato fries
Burger much smaller even for a single. Disappointed in our neighborhood star burger. Not going back.

My go-to burger place when I'm in Durham. Really tasty burgers and great old school diner atmosphere. Staff is on the younger side and some are more enthusiastic than others.

Tasty old school burger joint vibes. Onion rings were bomb and the homemade 8oz patty was juicy abs well seasoned. Definitely will return

Ordered Pick up from Starr Burger this evening. While the burgers my mother and I ordered were amazing, the Ice Cream we ordered was severely lacking in the amount served, which is a massive departure from what they have served previously, including less than a month ago. The large ice creams contained the smallest scoops possible.

Really good service, owner and staff are all very nice. Burgers are really good definitely worth trying when in the area.

This place has always been awesome. They the Starr burger and onion rings. Absolutely delicious.

Great hot dogs and a kind owner. On the rare occasion there's something wrong with the food they will make it good.

While I am consistently happy with Food Quality, Service Quality and Atmosphere, 4 stars as the Service speed (namely food preparation) has been consistently slower than expectations.

I have never had a bad burger from Starr Burger. Prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity. Staff is always friendly, and I've never felt rushed.

I this is also wheelchair accessible, I am visually impaired and there are no impedances or stairs when you use the back entrance from the parking lot.was very hungry, and was visiting my aunt late at night time. On my way, we passed by STARR Berger, and decided to stop in for a quick bite. The place was very clean, and the atmosphere was a cinematic burger joint! The pictures on the wall, the floors, tables and even the kitchen screams this looks like a burger joint in a movie (so perfect! They even had milkshakes my stepdaughter loved! The owner was very friendly, and welcoming as we’re all the employees very helpful and attentive to our needs.

Everyone is a conversationalist, and even brings a warm atmosphere when there are more patrons in the dining area. I would highly recommend this place, after extracurricular, when it’s too late for cooking. When you’re on your way home, and want to fill up before eating the food at home. We’ve all been there, this is the go to! Family owned and operated, that is a tasty burger while making you feel good about eating it when you know it’s so wrong!

Living in this area for almost my entire life, starr burger has always been a shining starr of a restaurant.i used to go a lot when i was a child for their affordable yet delicious food.i hadnt been in a while so i decided to pop over and grab a poutine today.instant.nostalgia.despite having the same retro decor, everything was beautifully clean and not grungy like i expected.the poutine - spectacular.the fries had a crackling crisp exterior paired with a lovely soft interior.real cheese curds which melted perfectly over the fresh fries, paired with a hearty gravy.love this place!

Always excellent quality and quantity portions from Starr Burger. Fries are so good and poutine is a must try!

Starr Burger has been a staple in Whitby for 30 years. Their signature burgers are excellent, but their poutine and onion rings steal the show, in my opinion.

When I was a teen, their milkshakes were the main attraction, but that was back in the era of strawberry, chocolate and vanilla; now they'll turn just about every flavor of Kawartha Dairy ice cream into a shake. What a time to be alive.

I was there today, grabbing some poutine and rings, and absolutely regret not getting a milkshake after seeing a few customers enjoying theirs. One guy had a cookies and cream milkshake, and I can't get it out of my mind and I'm not even hungry any more.

Aw, man.now I'm going to have to go back.

Great place. Great food. Great employees.

Never disappointed at Starr Burger

2023: We ordered the steak sandwich and Philly cheesesteak. Both delicious and freshly made! It was so good we went again the next day. Travelled all the way from Scarborough to Whitby for this good food.

2022: We ordered the Starr burger, kids cheeseburger, bacon cheeseburger, steak sandwich, and french fries. Everything was delicious! You can choose your burger toppings including sauteed onions (the best). The fries were fresh (not from frozen), and salted to perfection. Will definitely go back!

Very disappointed, rotten potatoes and the steak on a kiser was like chewing leather. More than half the meal went in the garbage and they are closed now so can't even go back. May 11th 2023 closing staff should all be fired for serving this garbage. Wasted $28.
