Was at state and main this evening tasha made our evening too notch will recommend this cambridge location to anyone.

Met with friends here for dinner. My wife and I ordered the steak. It was done as to our request. However, we both found the meat rather tough which spoiled the experience. The presentation was quite ordinary. The desert was plenty and very tasty. Service was friendly and unrushed. Overall it was an unremarkable restaurant experience.

Went there for 4pm just before dinner rush started. It was a little slow to get the food. But both the food and the service were good.

I would like to say first that the food was great. We decided to go to State & Main on my birthday since we have never been there so why not try the place out and see what it is all about. Well. We had a table booked for 4pm, we showed up, got seated by the hostess. 15 min later the hostess comes back and ask if we had seen our waitress yet and we just said nope, no waitress and no orders. The hostess takes our drink orders and than about 5 min later our waitress finally shows up and ask what we would like to order for drinks. The answer was simple since I replied that the hostess took the order already.
So far we are 20min in and the waitress shows up and than another 8 min later the drinks come out. Now the drinks sometimes can be slow if they are busy at the bar or if the drinks are complicated. Two mixed drinks and an old fashion and a diet soda. (Not that difficult).
Well we got the drinks, than I tell the waitress (our table one which I won't call her name out in this) we want some apps. Order the apps than we wait another 20min on them to show up. After they finally show we order our food, but first the apps were good minus the calamari as it was not crispy and under cooked.
The mains finally comes out another 20min later. Now this is where things get more messed up with the service. We sit there looking down at the food and think, ya know.how can we enjoy this food with the proper utensils. Yup there was none as they did not provide them at the start and we had to ask for them. I asked for 4 waters and they finally get to us about 10min after the mains show up.
Our waitress not once smiled or showed that she was happy to even be there or serve us, but we did notice that she was always smiling and laughing when she was with the other staff. Now I am not asking for much, but if you are working in the food service and you have to be in the front of the house serving people, than smile and laugh at the ones you are required to serve.

The service was terrible, we went at happy hour and not one drink was being pushed or promoted to try and get those sells in. Happy Hour consist of making people feel comfortable and happy and enjoying the place and push those drinks out.

The atmosphere was meh, could of been way better and way more inviting since we did go at happy hour and it wasn't that great.

Ya know, I use the open table app to book everything and we do post on there about things about special occasions or events. It was for a birthday this time and they did see it on the booking, but they didn't seem to bother with that. Anyways, we are at the end of the time there and we have to ask two separate waitresses to find ours and get the bill. We did have the dessert menu in front of us but we decided not to order that since it prolly would of been another 20min to get that.
We paid and left the tip, but the food was great, and the service was horrible, and that is why the size of the tip was what it was due to service failure. I do hope that everyone that does go has a better time or better service.

My review only pertains to the food as we've only ordered delivery from here. Each time the food has been very good, fair portions and delicious! The fish tacos and tomato bacon soup were good, but the the shrimp and mushroom rigatoni was spectacular - a must try. Our orders have always arrives hot, with good presentation (intact) and even comes in a reusable black bag. Looking forward to trying the restaurant in person. Thank you!

I had the sirloin cooked medium rare and it came out beautifully. The steak was tender and juicy. The right colouration. Seasoning was just on the surface but I could definitely do with more. The mash potatoes and asparagus went very well and were delicious. Our server, Berlynn was most kind and helpful, definitely helped elevate the experience. I rated the atmosphere a little lower because it is also a bar and that tends to be noisy and crowded which doesn't elevate any dining experience in my opinion unless you're with friends.

Great experience as always at the Cambridge location. The best location in the TRI Cities.
The Cajun chicken is my fave dish. With a side of dill fries.

Staff is so friendly. Service was quick. Restaurant very clean and food was out of this world. I would recommend this place 100%. O and the drinks were very very good as well!

I went to eat dinner here on a recommendation from a friend, and boy was I not disappointed! I ordered the French Dip sandwich with a side of bacon tomato soup. Literally every part of this plate was so delicious - the dipping sauce, the shaved beef, the sandwich bread, and the tomato soup was. I think this is my new favorite restaurant in Cambridge. The service was also top notch - waiters were super attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Can wait to come back!

Went here with my partner for valentines day and had the best service! We got a reservation no problem and were sat promptly. I can't remember our servers name but he was the bartender and was amazing! We love state and main and we will definitely be back!

Ordered a chicken caesar salad for pick up for my wife and when we got home there was no dressing on salad, in bag or in container. Very disappointed.

Noticed no more kids menu on Uber Eats or Skip the Dishes. Unfortunately, I can’t order anything online anymore. And spending the same amount to go to the location for pickup is no incentive to me. Good luck with the loss of $600+ in business from me each year. What a waste.

The food was awesome but the service was impeccable Melissa made me feel like I was at home.

Great atmosphere and good food. Really nicely done and the menu rotates seasonally. Definitely good for a nice meal out.

Every time we come here the food is always delicious and the service is top notch. Tonight was Valentine’s Day. It was busy but still very enjoyable. Our first server Emily went above and beyond for me. I am a short woman so my feet couldn’t reach the foot rest at the table. She brought over a booster seat and turned it on its side and it was perfect for me! Made my night much more enjoyable. Anuja was our second server and she was absolutely amazing, very personable and attentive to our needs. We had the pleasure of meeting the manager, Amanda. She is such a wonderful person. She was bright, bubbly and you can tell she enjoys her job. It was the perfect touch to our amazing night here. Look no further this is the place to go!

So happy they are open! Tried their steak 10 oz tonight! It was done to perfection! Had w Mushrooms & a side of skewered shrimp. Great w/ Asparagus! Wish there was a bit more season in the steak but it was still great! My server was very personable and attentive! Thanks! Just what the Dr. Ordered!

Honestly the worst dine in experience I’ve had in a long time and our food wasn’t good either. Our food took a long time to come out, then when it was no cutlery was brought with food and by the time it came it was getting cold, no napkins were brought and no one to ask for them, especially with wings? ! One of the meals was forgotten. Our server was busy with other tables and bartending to even check on us. We needed things for the meal and maybe more drinks and she never came back. Also kids never had dessert because it was so long. We couldn’t even get her attention to just get the bill and leave. Very disappointed.

Arrived around 6pm and wasn't too busy. Our server was lovely and helped with questions we had. We waited a while for our app, which was a mistake and had to be remade. By the time our food got to us, the sweet potato fries were extremely cold but when asked they brought out hot ones. The ambience was definitely nice and the food tasted good. Overall I'd come back and try this place again.

Had a great dinner here. It was late on a week night so very quiet. Good was delicious. I love the menu options, can't wait to go back and try more items.

Food was good. Patio furniture not very comfortable at all. But we had an overall good experience.

Our party of 12 had the most incredible experience at this location. We had a reservation at another restaurant in town, but as we were driving there we found out they had lost power. Our great experience started with Kira, who assured me our big party could have a table in the next 15 minutes. We were taken care of by Parker for the majority of our meal and then Sydney. Parker was attentive, funny and really turned our night around. We can’t say enough about our experience here.

Service was awesome. Friendly and attentive while providing suggestions. Even though it was moderately busy, we had everything we needed when needed.

State and Main Cambridge. Called today to order Dinner for Two- Date Night. Couldn't get this still posted meal as it is no longer served. Asked why it was still posted on website, person didn't know why. Updated menus if you want to keep customers.
Friends and I go there often for drinks/appetizers, the new restaurant menu was updated?

Great atmosphere and good food. We had a wonderful waiter, Kabeer. Very personable and attentive.

Stopped in for Cobb salads for lunch and received rotten lettuce. Sent it back and lost my appetite. Manager wasn't there and the kitchen manager did nothing. Waitress was very apologetic but won't be returning for rotten food.

Was there for a business lunch and was lucky to eat at the terrasse. Great food at reasonable prices and friendly staff. Will go back! My coworker had the fish tacos which were also good. I had the truffle and shrimp rigatoni pasta dish that I thoroughly enjoyed, with a beer. Bill was mid thirties before tip.

Went to this restaurant because my daughter choose it for her graduation dinner. Warm and inviting atmosphere, hospitality at it best. The girls there are amazing from the phone call, to checking in to service, excellent. Food 5 star and a complementary desert to say congratulations.it sure made our visit a memorable one.

Always pretty good food although I personally find there's too much seafood on the menu. Nice atmosphere in the Cambridge Location with extremely attentive staff.

Awful, awful and awful. My god, it was a terrible experience. So many places in Cambridge, if you are considering going there, trust me, you can do better and chose at least a kinda good place. You're welcome for the advice in advance.

Great atmosphere for Saturday evening. Unfortunately, service was not as expected. Our food was 1 and half hour late. Maybe will go back for drinks not food. How could they miss our order?

It was late. 1015pm.and State and Main on Hespeler Rd, Cambridge and I had a craving for a bison burger.i phoned ahead to ask if kitchen still open, placed my order saying I would be there shortly.other than asking for the candle to be lit.my favorite meal: bison burger with 2 side salads (ceasar, and coleslaw with cilantro) and a tonic with lime. Pleasant efficient service with bartender as my waitress.expensive but worth it.i like the dim lighting and dark woods of the place.ive only ever been there late pm. I finally went in one winters night when Applebees kitchen next door was closing earlier than State and Main. Glad i did!

I called on Aug. 31st to make a reservation for a largeish group (and again on Sept. 6th to increase the member count by a couple). We then show up Sept. 28th to seeing the only place that could accommodate our size was given away and instead we were given two large separate tables.

Let me be clear - if I wanted the members of my party to be cut in half I'd invite them on two different nights as separate groups. You only had one job and it was to either accomodate our size or do the right thing and tell me you couldn't do it so we could go somewhere else. I hope that the group that did take the large area had a reservation that was made earlier than ours (but doubt it).

So everyone awkwardly clustered around one table to visit and the feedback I received was that noone had come by to take drink orders in the hour+ they had been there. Eventually we were pressured to sit and have dinner by the restaurant staff and by that time (due to an emergency for a portion of the group) we could fit. We agreed sat, waited for probably half an hour before staff took our order, ordered food and waited 30 minutes plus before it arrived.

We had to make this night good ourselves because it really felt like we were working against the restaurant to enjoy ourselves.

The summary? If you are with a group larger than 4 or have any expectations of your venue to host an event AVOID AVOID AVOID.

Two stars instead of one because the food didn't make anyone sick.

Great service and superb food! Had The Main burger and really enjoyed everything about it. Perfect bun, tasty beef, crispy bacon.and the sides.oh my! Will definitely go again when I'm back!

Great tasting food and worth the money. We ordered delivery (do this a lot because of two young kids) and usually in the Cambridge area, there's a problem with orders missing items. Not with State and Main. The order was perfect so we know where we will order from in the future. By the way, the fish and chips was just what I needed! I know where to recommend to my UK family when they visit.

Came in for lunch. Good selection, good portions, good beer, good atmosphere. If you're pubby like me, consider it a high class pub.

Food is great. This business of serving food in jars or offering meals that are too large to consume in one sitting at prices that are doubled is ridiculous. Its regular food that tastes great but at double the amount and double the price it leaves a bad taste and I won't be back.

Went for dinner with a friend. Came later in the evening but surprisingly busy still. Was greeted immediately and sat quickly. Waitress came and was super friendly. Ordered the Grilled Chicken Club with Caesar Salad and jalapeno cheddar mashed potatoes and everything tasted great. Friend ordered the French Dip and was thoroughly impressed, said they enjoyed it with all the cheese and onions on it, better than some steak places in town. Would go again, had a great time

Friday, August 30,4: 30 pm. Walked in with only 2 people at the Bar, the bartender made eye contact twice well he was billing out one of the patrons who was there before I arrived. Yet refused to ask for my drink order or even greet me. So I waited a hair longer thinking he just needs a minute. Then his buddy walks in and orders a beer like I'm a ghost. Piss poor service, when the restaurant is dead.

Had a great time here! Solid service, french french dip was great, and good beer selection. Will be back again for sure.

Reserved a normal sized table and got seated at a table with bar stools because they didnt have any of the lower tables.why bother reserving?

Waited 45 min to eat. Food arrived barely warm. My thai salad was poor presentation and tasted blah. Was way to expensive for what it was. And I'm writing this post while I sit on my toilet with diarrhea which I can only assume came from the restaurant.

Food and service was great.very good atmosphere Ali was a great host. Would have given a 5 but shame about paper towels in men's washroom on top of toilet not in a dispenser
