Staybridge Suites Guelph, an IHG Hotel

Peaceful place with great room, breakfast, indoor pool. Pet friendly. The desk service was consistently poor however. Asked especially for ground floor on reserve. Not done on arrival. Inattentive, too busy on phone to communicate, failed to send invoice by email as requested, no one on desk. Just not listening.

It was nice, not fantastic but nice. The pool was disappointing, insufficient seating or places to put towels. Breakfast was average.

We had a wonderful time! A lovely hotel with nice staff. Impeccably clean suite. Wonderful amenities.

Clean mid range hotel. Room was a suite with queen bed and small kitchen. Seemed clean but a bit used, one could tell the hotel was fairly old. Did have a small pool and fitness area. Fitness area was small and only one treadmill, which was used at peak times so had to wait or come back. Room was cleaned daily, which I really didn't want. But no "do not disturb"sign was in the room. The breakfast was better than most, homemade eggs, bacon or sausage, oatmeal, waffles, and more. Not bad hotel. Not great just okay.

There was some issues upon check in which required to connect a play station via the internet
Guest services stayed on the phone and guided us through the whole process (there was some issues with the passwordless wifi)
The room was clean and quiet
The only downside was the tub had a lot of lime and calcium deposit
House keeping should be using bartenders friends and CLR once in a while

We recently stayed here for 2 nights with 3 adults and 2 kids. We were able to get a suite with 2 bedrooms, a living area, and a kitchen. This made the trip much more enjoyable to be able to get the kids in bed and still have some seating room for the adults. Kids loved the pool, and the breakfast was tasty and different each morning. Overall a great stay!

This past weekend, two friends and I stayed at staybridge. The staff were great however, for $330 a night, I was not expecting cobwebs above both beds, a dirty stove and questionable liquid marks on the headboard. My biggest concern, was that when we went outside to check if you could see in the windows of our room, it was confirmed that you could see directly into the room from the parking lot. This made us incredibly uncomfortable. There was only very thing see through curtains which covered the entire window and blue curtains that had shortened bars which didn’t allow the curtains to actually even come close to closing. The room we stayed in was 135 on the main floor. Please, ensure rooms are safe and comfortable for people.

Staybridge in Guelph was easy to find and had ample parking. Room was adequate for size, condition and cleanliness. Our room had a small kitchenette with a full sized fridge freezer. Two burners and a microwave for cooking, a drip coffee maker and a dishwasher with tea towel, dish soap and dishwasher detergent provided. We didn't use the kitchenette, but I'm also assuming that ample dishes/pots are provided as with other 'suite' style hotels. Heating was efficient and there were two windows which provided ample natural light.
It's an open concept room, so I'm unsure if residual cooking smells might be a problem when sleeping. In the sitting area there was s small sofa with a couple of side tables, a desk with an office chair, but no dining table or chairs - you could use the desk if you're eating in the room, but there is only one seat, so your other option is to eat on the couch. There was a unit with a TV that you could move to watch from the bed or from the sofa.

Reception staff were prompt and pleasant, however just a couple of points that could improve in my opinion.

The sink is outside of the bathroom so there is a risk of poor hand hygiene if touching the bathroom door handles and lock. Anyone who has used the toilet has to touch the handle before they can wash their hands after using the room, so beware of what may have been on their hands when leaving that room.

My other concern is that the bed was quiet uncomfortable. It seemed to be a pillow top mattress but there were layers of mattress protection that made the bed quite hard to sleep on. I usually have a great sleep in most hotels, but not this time.

It is nice that breakfast is included as there didn't seem to be anywhere else close by that was convenient to eat. The small self serve area had a selection of premade cheese omelets, some very delicious sausages, boiled eggs, pancakes, fresh fruit, bread/baked goods cereal, juice and coffee/tea. They offered boxes for breakfast to go which was a nice touch.

It was very busy on the morning we were there with lots of people leaving. The breakfast area is open to the lobby, so you may need to wear a coat when you're eating in colder weather as it was very chilly/breezy with the door being open so much.

All in all this was a fairly pleasant experience.

Not a well maintained hotel, very overpriced and the beds were tiny! As in, my feet were hanging off the end and they are absolutely not meant for two adult people. The shower was atrocious- the head was broken and leaking and there was no shampoo in the bottles. Would not recommend this hotel.

Microwave in my suite isn't working. Needs service or replacement. Someone had unplugged it. In fairness I don't know if it was reported to the staff.

Room cleaning is supposed to be on demand. The staff cleaned it anyways.

Staff are very friendly and accommodating.

I had a recent death in my family and had to travel from the west coast to Guelph Ontario. The staybridge have been so amazing with our stay and have offered everything possible to make us feel comfortable. Tara (I hope that’s the spelling) the sales manager is absolutely amazing, she has done everything to make us feel at home and comfortable. Harry, another manager, also did everything he could to make us feel welcomed at home. The customer service is absolutely impeccable and super attentive. Thank you so much to the staff at StayBridge Guelph ON, through this tough time you have truly made this experience better!

The staff was great, the airconditioning in our room was broken and they sent someone immediately to fix it. The breakfast was great. The room was not good at all, stains all over the chair and couch, walls, curtains and ceiling. Dust on the tv stands, paint chipping off the walls, broken closet door. The room was very overpriced for what it was. I wouldn't stay here again.

Hi Staybridge I was in last August 4th, to celebrate my son's birthday. Hotel is really nice, we was receveid for a kindly girl at the front desk, location was great for us and rooms are really comfortables.

UNFORTUNATELY all these good things are overshadowed by the bad attitude and aervice of just one employee.

I don't know her name but she works in the dinning room. You have to see her all morning and hold on her awful attitude with all guests. If you request something from the dinning room, she screams and has horrible service to the guest. This not happened just to me, I witnessed this kind of situation during the seven days I was in. The worst thing was when she did it with an old woman. Hope you can solve this kind of unacceptable situation. As I wrote before, I don't know her name but I'm sure she is easyJet to identify, she is young and looks like Indian people. Thanks a lot.

The hotel was very clean, but it is the staff that makes this hotel stand out.
We were greeted by Tara at the front desk, she was so pleasant, informative and accommodating, It's been a long time since I have such good customer service!

Modern, clean hotel. Friendly efficient staff. Great hot breakfast buffet (included). Convenient location.

- no liquid soap was provided
- showerhead was weak
- water was extremely hard
- housekeeping did not replenish tissues
- housekeeping was limited, didn’t thoroughly clean room/bathroom or remake beds
- no carpets near sinks or bathtub
- bathtub had stains and mold surrounding it
- living room furniture had multiple stains
- damaged walls behind doors
- there were limited breakfast options
- the blinds only closed halfway

- provided shower amenities (body wash, shampoo, conditioner) and towels
- some staff members were incredibly friendly and welcoming

The location is right off the Guelph highway 6. Guelph university is 10 to 15 minutes from the hotel. To eat 7 minutes from any food you desire. From Macdonald to The Keg. Service good but not next day in room service. Only when you leave or request, but front desk will help you if you need fresh sheets or towels. Has A nice size not too deep pool, and a good size workout center. Breakfast is continental and they have sufficient tables to seat and eat in the main lobby. They also have a private parry room or meeting upon request. Parking is plentiful. There is even a car wash there if you have time to was your vehicle.

DO NOT stay here! Shocking is the best word I have yet to come up with to describe my experiences at Staybridge Suites, an IHG Hotels & Resort. Unfriendly bordering on hostile is also a pretty accurate description. Certainly "UN-Canadian" also accurately describes my experience - and this is within my first 36 hours of a 20 day planned "extended Stay"!
I cannot wait to check out and leave this hotel, despite the work, hassle, wasted time and extra cost involved to leave this hotel, at Staybridge Suites in Guelph, Ontario Canada.

The manager, Natasha Irani, has said things that I could have never imagined a hotel Manager in this day in age, especially in times such as during the Covid-19 pandemic, to say to a guest - whether for 1 night, or nearly a month extended stay.

There is a Fairfield Inn, residences Inn by Marriott directly across the road from Staybridge Suites Guelph. IF not travelling with pets, I would recommend calling there VS Staybridge Suites Guelph, an IHG Hotels & Resort.

I would never recommend Staybridge Suites, IHG Hotels & Resorts to, anyone who is looking for a nice, friendly/ compassionate environment or a healthy place to stay for a short, or longer while.

Worst internet ever. I've been staying here for 4 months and internet is horrible anywhere but 1st and 2nd floor and nobody seems to be able to do anything about it. It's is horrible.

Nice and clean, friendly staff. Fully equipped kitchen. Small pool and gym in the hotel. Good breakfast.

This hotel unfortunately does not live up to the staybridge name. I’ve stayed in other locations that were much nicer. The general cleanliness and lack of attention to detail at a time when standards are supposed to be at an all time high was absolutely appalling. Any other day, had I not been up since 4am, I would have walked right back downstairs and checked out. On the bright side, IHG says they’re going to credit me enough rewards points for a full night (still waiting on that to actually happen though).

I would not recommend staying here. There are much better options for the price in the area.

I couldn't be happier with our experience. Our room was beautiful and extremely clean. The staff were very friendly. We stayed during Step Two of Ontario's Reopening so the buffet was closed however they had a terrific set up that still allowed us to get a warm breakfast safely. I can't recommend this place enough.

I wanted to get a courtesy wake up call, and was refused. Granted I wasn't a guest, but courtesy is courtesy, and we Canadians deserve better!

Natasha the manager is an awesome lady. She got my friend an amazing deal on a beautiful room, when her house caught on fire. The staff are amazing, the rooms are beautiful. The people at this hotel made my friend stay so comforting after such a tragic situation. Totally recommend this hotel.

We had to vacate our home with our two dogs during Ontario's stay-at-home order. Our 5-night stay was great! We stayed in a one-bedroom suite that included a sitting area, kitchen and separate bedroom and bathroom. We had to continue working (remotely) during our stay - there was enough space for both of us to set up a workstation.
The daily breakfasts were really great and the coffee was delicious!
All of the measures taken to keep everyone safe were well maintained and put in place and certainly didn't make our stay a challenge.
They even have a back patio area with a BBQ. I spent an afternoon working out there!
Our room looked out onto a busy road with lots of truck traffic but surprisingly, it was not noisy.
The beds are super comfortable and there is a wide selection of pillow types to choose from.
Overall, a really great place!

Miracle Memories with Staff going beyond belief to please. Guests were so friendly, even playing mini putt for hours before going to see Hobbs and Shaw.

Awesome Motel! The room was amazing, beds comphy and amazing pillows, free breakfast daily with lots of choices! Free dinner Monday, Tuesday and Wed.very good.they have yummy cookies and you can help yourself to tea and coffee anytime! They even have a little store to get snacks. Indoor pool was nice, small but very clean.reasonably priced as well

Very often visit’s to stay in hotel’s but the comfortable and decent service we enjoy in this place was different than others. We were husband, wife and two kids stayed for four nights at this place and found home away from home. We all happy with there professionalisms. I extremely recommend this place.

Loved the room, it was very spacious. Love the fact that it had a full sized fridge as well as a stove. The staff was very friendly, made us feel at home.

Overall the hotel was very nice. The rooms are spacious and the honeymoon room was beautiful. Kitchen comes with everything you need. Except scissors. However, my. Low rating was due to rude staff and there is a pre authorization that if you didn't book the room with the same credit card you booked online you have to make sure you have that same expensive amount on your credit card that you show at the desk. It is NOT just the deposit. So, I will warn you because they don't say it anywhere until you are there.

If you are coming for the advertised perks check before you come. I've been here two weeks. Pool is out of order. 2 out of 4 washing machines out of order. Nacho night ran out of cheese and chilli in first hour. On hamburger night ran out of mayo and mustard. Milk machine had been down for 3 days now with no milk for supper one night and for breakfast the next morning. Limited staff in the kitchen that are worked to the bone with not enough supplies. Unfortunately they take the flack for that not management where it should go. Every week our access cards quit working when I go get it reactivated takes a second return to front desk to rectify the problem. Just wouldn't want you to be disappointed as we have been

Room was spacious, clean and well designed.

Breakfast was tasty and had a nice variety of choices.

Staff were friendly and courteous.

I stayed a night with my fiance. We got a room with a little kitchen and a nice jacuzzi tub on purpose because we dont have a jacuzzi at home. I turned on the jets and the amount of mold and black confetti looking grossness came out. We complianed to the front desk and she told is she couldnt refund us anything because we got the room feom a third party vendor. Really disappointed to be honest. We probably wont go back to that hotel again.

Rooms are nice, but bathtub fixtures are loose and covered in lime scale. Ceiling in the pool is peeling and cracked. There are two dehumidifiers running 24/7 because of the lack of ventilation in the area. The patio area is excellent for socializing and the BBQs available for use are a nice touch. Unfortunately, the tree's that line the area wreak of wet fermented dog excrement. Overall great amenities but some upkeep is needed.

Great rooms! Fridge, stove top, dishwasher, sink, dishes, good internet! Breakfast on weekends didn’t start until 7: 30 though. I also stayed at the Holiday Inn. I would much rather stay here!

Lovely room but the hotel ran out of towels and had to go to Costco to buy my own for the weekend. Room was only cleaned twice over our 4 day stay.

Helpful, friendly staff, very nice suites with full kitchens (no oven), and a decent free breakfast to boot. Great value and close to Highway 6 in Guelph. Will stay again.

Great hotel but parking lot was a skating rink and there was never anybody at the front desk. Seemed very understaffed for a holiday weekend. We stayed 3 nights and the room was only cleaned the first night. According to the phamphlet in the room, it should be cleaned daily. When we finally got someone at the desk, she said nobody is in until Monday so it wouldn't happen. Not sure how they can stay in business when guests are always upset.

Public facilities are decent and front desk staff were friendly.
My room was old and smelled ‘musty’, probably from the carpet at the end of its use. The bathroom was ok however, water stains and mould-looking spots can be seen everywhere in and around the shower.

Cleaners came in once during a three night stay and all they did was quickly make the bed.

I have a reservation for the Staybridge in Guelph. I've tried on 3 separate occasions (with multiple attempts) to ring the hotel without anyone answering. I thought they'd like to answer the phone to communicate with their customers?

Convenient location both for getting downtown or the university or the 401. Rooms and continental breakfast are pretty standard. Clean and efficient.

We have stayed here alot over the last 6 years. Close to the 401. Clean. Staff are always professional. Decor is well appointed and kept updated.

Very nice hotel, great location south of Guelph. Very quiet area. Room was clean and very nice. Pool is small but clean, no hot tub.
