I’ve mostly always had a good experience here. Yes, I’ve seen unpleasant and rude behaviour to others and to myself too.
I never let it bother me, still be friendly towards the staff, and get on with enjoying the bathhouse. There’s some really nice friendly people working the front desk. However, most others are a classic case of someone being arrogant and power hungry the moment you give them a title, uniform, or some job where they gate-keep and everyone has to go through them.

Especially in our community, there’s an obvious increased need for compassion, open mindedness, non judgemental first aid, and deescalating a situation.

Last week, I had a syncope. As scary as it sounds and looks, it’s simply your body losing consciousness temporarily with a quick recovery. A very usual thing like an acid reflux or dehydration can cause this.

I kept asking for water while everyone around me watched! Whoever was managing that night, told me, they are getting me water. But later I found out, they were so uninformed, scared, and panicking that the only focus was to call 911!
By which time, I had gotten up, took care of myself, got dressed, and decided to walk out.

The person I was asking for help, told me to stay and that they’ve called paramedics for me. I was exhausted and rather annoyed at their lack of awareness and ability to provide care and first aid. Still being polite, I said “I’m fine and thank you, but I’ll leave. Have a good night”

I went back here last night. The front desk person tells me I’m not allowed. I’m banned. I said, okay, but why? What can I do?
Clearly, seeing messages or notes on their screen, but didn’t want to divulge any information or have a discussion. By now, 2-3 other folks had gathered and saw the screen and gave me the same cold look whilst repeating that I’m not allowed.
I said, I heard you. I get it. What I’m requesting is to help me understand the situation and tell me my options.
None of them had any decision making, customer service skills, ownership, or accountability to lead and provide a solution.

Gave me a card to call or email and that was all. Annoyed and disappointed yet again, but not surprised, I politely left.

Went to XS and had a great night!
In a nutshell, I’m not mad at what they did, it’s always HOW they decide to do it. Amongst all the options and plausible solutions available, why end up choosing an unpleasant, uninformed, and outdated one all the time?

I have been there in the first half of the day, and there weren't many people. It was quite clean, and the staff was friendly, especially the guy in red pants. I hesitated to ask him for his phone number. The only drawback is the need for some air fresheners or something in the space in the middle, where the shower and washroom are, because there's an unpleasant smell. Also, there are no lubricants anywhere.

Bed service, coz of bad blond staff, he thought he is the god there, not only me though like that, before me was more that 5 peoples who wanted to come in, but he didn’t get them in, you should fired him!

This place has really gone downhill. The amount of drug users that are allowed in is absurd, doesn't feel safe whatsoever. And I'm not talking about guys smoking weed, every other guest seems like they just came out of a homeless shelter. Save your money, go somewhere else and stay safe.
Most of the staff is amazing, but there are some really awful ones. A bitter fellow who works the counter named Andy was extremely discriminatory to different guests based on their color, which I was astonished to witness. I can't believe people like that can still have a job serving guests.

The sauna is huge, like a labyrinth, you can really get lost there. The music was too loud and the air conditioning on too cold for my personal taste, but other than that the sauna is kept spotless and sparkling clean, seems popular in Toronto. Here you can really meet every type of man, the audience is very mixed, even if the young people are definitely in the majority. I highly recommend this sauna and I wish my town had one too.

It’s a great place! However, I would advice to cut down prices whenever they are doing repairs for instance ; there was a time the jacuzzi was off which is understandable and they apologized because they were repaying it, why would they charge the same amount of money? I would such to reduce a few dollars in such scenarios. I love the place though, good hygiene, nice customer care!

I’m not sure who you have working behind the cash, or hire But to treat someone poorly becz they don’t want to tip you is a joke. I’m not obligated to tip anyone just for processing my check in and giving me a towel. He’s even so petty to the point he will give u a locker in the halls instead of the main area where everyone else is. And yes there were many rooms available, as I have friend who was also working that day.

We come here to have fun and give you our money to support your business. Manage those you hire with class.

Very good place, super clean, comfortable, whirlpool tub, room with enough steam, food machines, just excellent.

Workers are friendly and inviting. I enjoy this place as it's very clean and well maintained club. The fact their customers are all races, shapes, sizes and ages really makes this a diverse environment where judgements and such from others is minimal. Also their no drug policy (I know this can't be enforced 100%) really discourages irresponsible drug users who cannot control themselves when intoxicated. All of these things combined really makes the club very inviting for the majority of people including myself. Thank you Steamworks for creating a wonderful environment.

I was not Allowed entry to the club coz of my colour and the reason was given by this rude staff member (blond hair blond beard and tall muscular white guy)
that I am not a member that’s why I can not go inside. I don’t know when this rule came in action. It seemed pure evidence of discrimination and I need answers from management

Awesome and welcoming space/atmosphere. Front staff was very nice as it was my very first time at SW. Shout out to Mike specifically who was extremely friendly and comforting about an issue I had the same night. Didn't stay too long cause it was abit late, but definitely going to visit again, more sooner than later:)

Went on Saturday. It was quite busy with a good crowd. Very clean. The guy working the front desk, Mike, was super friendly and helpful.

I visited for the first time and had a great time. I was a bit nervous because I am new to the community but the night time manager was very kind and explained the club rules and all the amenities. Can’t wait to go back!

Very disappointing. My partner and I went for a spa experience one everning late Aug 2022. We paid for the top room and a locker. Our room television did not work. They moved us into another room, no problem. There, the television also did not work. The employee then became rude after I brought up that since the hot tub was not running, we had no working television, what is the point in paying for a service where they just can't provide one for that night. No big deal things happen. Most places would honor that and gladly welcome you back another time. Not how it went.not only were we not refund any of our funds, the employee made it out like we should be grateful to receive our deposit. I wasn't about to argue with him as perhaps he's doing his job and is not permitted to approve refunds so I left it at that and contacted the manager the following day. Its now been over a week and no one has reached back. That was around 80$ Steamworks withheld from rightfully returning since they were not able to provide a service they were selling.end of story. It was sad to see that after driving over 2 hrs to not only have a nice experience but also support a local business of Toronto, we were treated so unfairly. I do not wish to bash them, I just wish they saw it from the eyes of the customer. 10 mins spend in an established business where they can't meet their own services doesn't allow them to not stand good and refund the money. They wouldn't even refund just the money for the locker as if my partner and I should part ways temporarily.

Spa is better than steam works bcz there is no lights in dark room.steam works has lights in dark room.which is not good.purpose of dark room vanished

It was a Wednesday at nine pm. When I went in there the attendant said they only have the deluxe room available an it was $65. I was surprised thinking they’re this full on a Wednesday. By the time I finished paying. I overheard The other attendant helping another patron telling home that there was 24 rooms available. I asked the guy why did he do that. And to give me a smaller room. He refused saying the transaction can’t be refunded. Not acknowledging his blatant lie an told me I can leave or come in. This is a disgusting establishment with disgusting employees. Do not fall for this trick

The receptionist stole my bag and threw in the garbage. They did not allow me to take my bag inside so i kept it outside. They didn't even call me rather threw my bag in garbage. Later when I threatened about calling police, they showed my bag is in the garbage. Its clear harassment and theft.

Are you able to provide some rationale behind
the absurd decision to continue to require

This place refused service to an Asian individual just because of the way they looked I’m disgusted by the way they called them disgusting names like tuna rice, dumping, and fried wonton, this place needs to be shut down.

Very clean as they clean the entire facility every hour around clock, cool amenities: Jaccuzzi Hot tub, Eucalyptus steam room, Gym, playrooms, darkrooms, private rooms/lockers, and towel service; and helpful staff. Reasonably priced and hold unique events depending on the day. All the negative or low star reviews are from male Karan’s that couldn’t manage privileged arrogance or follow the rules into this amazing facility that keeps this place safe, clean, and discreet. I love going to this place once a week just to destress and relax.

I went last week first week of March 22, when officially Covid Passports were expired on Ontario, and at the entrance they asked me my proof of vaccination wich is illegal. I can't believe this business still pushing segregation and division.we all know that vaccinated people still can catch the virus, get sick and spread it, so the vaccine passport is not justified and government already canceled.we should punishment this business, specially these business where everyone want to remain private.also is so hypocrite because people who go to these places know is a health risk but not for covid but for stds but that is not a problem for them, You can catch him on Steamworks and these people wouldn't care.

As a member of this facility who has been coming here basically for decades and has been coming here past two weeks with the same bag on cot refused at the door today because my bag is too big it’s a 16 inch gym bag as small as they come and they won’t let me into the gym here. And this place is overwhelmingly 60+
Twice my room been broken into. This place has gone downhill I don’t recommend to anyone

Bath area and sauna area is good, relaxes the body. One can have unexpected and wonderful encounters inside, as it attracts really hot crowd. The place is fairly clean and lively. Worth every penny spent!

This place is run by maniacs that treat their staff badly, if you are an ethical consumer, stay away!

Too bad it's closed now, but when it was open, it was pretty busy. I've had business in Toronto several times over the past few years and I always make a point of stopping by Steamworks Bath. Clean place, efficient staff, good facilities.

Great place to do some work and catch up on email! Very quiet and no one around to bother you. Apparently, it's also a place where men hook up, but I didn't see anyone doing that. If they get a coffee machine, it'll make a terrific co-working space!

I ve been here many times, but guess what made me so suprised and upset about here. If u make mistake Just only because of misinformation or misundeestanding, they r acting like a homofobic People. Why. They dont keep gentle way while somethmg misunderstood.

Went there on Thursday evening there was dome guys but not even one hot guy and no action. So boring

First time here.but I don’t understand why they refuse my enter to the local.they told me back after 30 min.ok I thought local was full.but after 30 min I have. The same answer, please back in 30 min.but people behind and after me, enter without problem. Do you have some discrimination? White people, black people? Muscle? I don’t know! Could you please explain why people don’t give me the access?

Bonnes installations, jacuzzi très chaud et appréciable. Cependant c'est plus cher qu'à Montréal et il y avait pas grand monde pour un dimanche après midi. Décevant.

I've been goig to Steamworks since moving to the city this spring and always had a great time but this weekend soured my experience when one of the managers started screaming at the guys working the counter. I don't know what set him off but he seemed totally unhinged. My partner could hear his rant from a few halls away. Friends have warned me the managers here have anger issues but I've never witnessed it firsthand til this week and it was worse than I'd imagined. It totally killed the mood and we'll be spending our money at XS from now on.

Seriously this place need some well mannered stuffs. Today I went down to make a membership card at the check in time but the guy told me I need 2 copies of id. I had only one copy so I couldn’t make it. At the returning time, another guy told me one photo Id is fine and he can’t make it today because he has couple of guys to check it though I came earlier than them. I came back and couldn’t make my membership. I put a star because this place is nice and fun

I heard this sauna many time from my friends although I never have a chance to visited here, and finally I’ve been here, at first, the place is not really big thought jacuzzi, steam room and sauna cabinet are very comfortable place, and btw, the jacuzzi’s temperature is perfect, also a lot of hot guys, and one of place you have to stay is DJ room so much fun with other people, definitely is the best sauna in Toronto, if you are hesitating it, no need to think that, it is worth Btw you better have a room, will be more easily and conveniently.

Many years ago I made a review for this place where I praised it. Times have changed, the staff are rude, discrimination runs rampant. The staff are involved in some shaddy things. Maintenance has gone way down. There are regular deaths that occur here. Go to XS. At least it's a Canadian brand.

The place isn't super clean (used condoms on the floor, etc.), but I didn't really mind that. The guy who I bought my entrance ticket from (looked South Asian or something) was hella rude, it made me and my friend uncomfortable at first but then we just laughed it off. It's a nice size, although it could be bigger. The jacuzzi area with the showers is probably the best part. The place had quite a few people inside from 2 to 4 but after that it was pretty empty. Met some pretty hot guys though.

May 27,2019 @ around 710am I tried to use the lubed vending machine and the price clearly states 1.35 cdn dollars for a 20 ml. Lube, I put my 20 dollars bill and only returned 5 Cdn coins, I went to asked the help of the sluggish sleepy unfriendly rude Filipina Front Desk as always not smiling he abruptly told me that it is 15 Cdn dollars without even checking the vending machine. I have several encounters with this ambivalent cashier I always tip him bet. 10 to 5 dollars all the time but for some reason this gay guy did not went to the school of smiles with is needed for front line workers. I don’t know if he like his job or have a hard time migrating here or just plain rude. If I’m the owner upgrade your worker or send him to CS school.

A little pricey and the staff can be pretty rude including the managenent/general manager, but they have to put up with a lot from the after club/bar crowds so they have to be pretty strict. The clientele is usually pretty hot and on the younger side compared to their competitor. Facilities are always pretty clean and they offer a bunch of discounts throughout the week. They have a bunch of resident DJs that always spin awesome sets and create an after hours/underground vibe. They also have a full gym that's great for guys who are visiting and want to get a work out in before/after hookin up.

The manager of this branch is a known Meth and Ecstasy dealer. After I refused his offer, I was banned. Calling the media now.

I never thought public sex could be this boring. Can someone tell me how this place survives?

Sadly, the comments I see here about drug use are appropriate.
