Steckle Woods

Was a nice, early spring stroll in the Woods. Nice area for in the city.
However, it's obvious people grab a Timmie's at the near-by drive thru before hiking here, then toss their empty cups on the ground. Dozens upon dozens of cups scattered at the trail head

This park has great trails, and it's pretty quiet considering how close it is to major roads. There are several easily accessible parking lots that make this an easy place to stop for a short nature walk. Not a lot of older growth trees.

Lovely little hilly woods full of trails, great for walking and running, with several parking spots.

Great place for a hike, you can't get lost. Very buggy in the summer and can get quite Muddy but that's nature for you

Hot tip: bring/wear bug spray! (Glad I packed some, wasn't expecting to even use it for a morning walk.)
Great wooded spot in the city, with decent paths. Not a lot of parking that I noticed but there could be residential street parking nearby and walk over (I walked/used public transit).

Where there's a tree dogs will pee. Nice scenery and is a good place to take the dog on a hike. Is alot of mosquitos at night so use bug spray guys

First time walking this trail. Apart from occasionally hearing roaring traffic on Homer Watson, this forest is a blissful piece of heaven. Enjoy the calm surroundings, and the beauty of nature! Take a few moments to admire the blankets of trilliums (but remember it is ILLEGAL to pick them!), and be astonished, like I was, at the tall trees (both standing alive and fallen down). Remember to wear (or bring along) bug repellent, as there are a few mosquitoes here.tis the season.

The family loves coming here. Such a beautiful place and your hike can be 10 minutes or 1 hour. You would never know you are in the city. True " not so hidden" gem.

Paths are wide and clear. Great for walking with friends.

Only downside is the extra parking is not open yet.

Super cute forest.its best if you can walk there because there isn't much parking in the winter.and its never been super busy

If you go out to the Eastern perimeter of the woods early in the morning you’ll have one of the best views of the sunrise. My family has been going for walks here all my life; the trail’s are the perfect length for a walk and talk. At the same time, they’re a little too short for jogging/running. You feel like you’re just getting started & then you’re back at your car.

Beautiful place with mature trees, nice respite in the middle of the city. Fall colors and trillium flowers are especially good here.

This is a beautiful local spot for hiking. There is an outside trail to choose or several small inside trails to explore. I went for the first time today and I feel it will take quite some time before I get bored of returning. It's quite a romantic spot for a hand in hand walk with my girlfriend:)

If not for Steckle Bush Where would we be able to walk threw a bush to see all the amazing fall colors and spring rebirths of nature

Real gem of a place most residents of Waterloo region are not aware of. Dense woods. So fulfilling when one walks here early in the morning.

Beautiful little park on the outside of a industrial complex.my dog likes it here. Lots of other people with their dogs too small parking lot of bleams

Beautiful trails in any season - I walk here almost daily. Be sure to check it out in the spring when the Trilliums are in full bloom!

Another hidden KW gem! Short fast single track if one is biking! Full loop is about a 40 min walk

Great trails for both people and dogs. It doesn't look that big from the outside but you can hike for hours on all the different trails

Walk our dog there almost every day! Lots of squirrels to chase on lots of trails. Great neighbourhood trail!
