Steel n Ink

Used to love this place, but not anymore. I got my conch done here a year and a half ago, and it refused to heal even with proper aftercare. I went in twice to get it checked and they said it was fine.

I went to a different piercer for confirmation and they told me that it was pierced too close to the back fold of my ear and that it looked like a 2 MONTH old piercing and was unlikely to ever heal. Ive had to take it out and now I plan to get it pierced by the other shop instead. I think its pretty scummy to tell me it looks good and send me off when it was never going to heal.

Your guys messed up my girlfriends piercing and they tried to tell her it looked fine when it had been healing for 1.5 years and refused to take it out, awful shop these people have no idea what they are doing and will lie and do not care about your health. Awful disgusting shop should either learn respect and admit wrong doing or close down since you have no idea how to work on this space.

Everything from initial contact online to sitting down for the tattoo was great- quick and easy!
Brooklyn was FANTASTIC, down to earth, understood what I wanted and made the appropriate suggestions on size for location. She carries a conversation really easily and makes you feel comfortable and in the end I walked out with the tattoo I invisioned. Will 100% be going back for future ink with her! Shop is great, clean and up to my standards.

My only downfall is parking at this location but that has absolutely nothing to do with the shop itself.

I've been to the Barrie Steel n Ink several times and I'm always impressed by their relaxed, yet professional atmosphere. Great staff. Highly recommended

Was excited to see them for my first tattoo but nobody was there to acknowledge my presence for the first 10 minutes. I kept waiting then yelled hi to see a response from someone. Finally a guy who was working with a client responded that someone would be with me shortly. I waited another 15 minutes and finally left. Such a poor customer service.

Zilah is incredibly talented, and I suggest everyone work with him. You will not be disappointed.

Justin was very friendly, explained everything about what he was going to do, I had 2 piercings one in each ear, and how to take care of them after the piercing. I will be going back for another piercing, after talking with my Acupuncturist, when I decide where the next piercing will benefit me. Piercing the upper ear can help with pain, anxiety, etc. Thank you

Brock was very helpful and professional. I got my right nostril done, then came back to have the other side done and my Conch. The left nostril is pierced at a different angle than the right would be my only complaint. Otherwise AMAZING SERVICE!

Brock is literally the best piercer I’ve ever been to, I came to him about a year ago for my septum and ever since then he is the only one I trust to pierce me seriously- 10/10 if you’re getting a piercing go to Brock!

I am a total newbie when it comes to tattooing and I felt really comfortable here. It was clean, everyone there was really friendly and they were really knowledgeable.

I've had friends go, even my teen had a good experience with their ears being pierced. However she went in to get her smiley pierced, it was uncomfortable after months still. We went to a body mod specialist to change the jewellery and they confirmed the inside of her lip was pierced! Not her smiley! Along with that the jewelery used was incorrect aswell. Now she has to wait for it to heal and stop swelling and spend more money elsewhere to get the piercing she wanted.

After roaming here and there I finally choose Steel N Ink for my tattoo designing and with my exeprience I can assure you that is the best place for tattoo designing. So just give them a chance to serve you the best! I am sure you will love it.

Mark is minblowing in his job. This is the resaon that He will always be my first choice for tatto designing.

Had my second lobes pierced by Brock! He took the time to explain every step of the process with me and was a very chill guy. Made the experience very fun! Super friendly service, and a very clean environment.

I got my helix (cartilage) pierced here back in October of 2020.
Nothing to complain about in terms of cleanliness, friendliness. They were also very professional, so no complaints there.
Only downside was it was much more expensive than the other piercing place I went to. On top of that, when the piercing got ripped out by my mask and I lost the backing, Steel and Ink charged me an extra $20 for a backing and said they weren't charging me for the 'jewelry change'. (I'm assuming they normally do). The other place I went to for my other piercings, offers free jewelry changes.
Between October 2020 and now, I've gotten 2 (3) new piercings at another piercing place: my seconds lobes and conch/orbital (another cartilage piercing) and I probably paid the same amount for both lobes and orbital than I did for that one cartilage piercing.

My friend however had a worse experience. They got their industrial pierced here and had a horrible recovery with a terrible healing process due to the piercing being put an incorrect angle; and again, they paid a fraction of what they paid at Steel n Ink for the one industrial, than what they paid for for 2 piercings at the other piercing place.

My daughter and I both got piercings by Brock, he was amazing, fast and answered our questions, he is definitely recommended.

I had a piercing done by Brock, he took the time to show me the different jewellery options I could get for my ear until we found something that I both loved and was within my budget. I was super nervous but he took the time to talk me through the procedure, and made me feel at ease. The piercing itself was done before I realized it had even happened. It was done both quick and relatively painless. The studio was spotless, and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. Will definitely be back!

Finally decided to dodge the bullet of normalcy and get my septum pierced by brock- professional he was
(funny too) everything was clean piercing was done super quick absolutely thrilled with the outcome would totally recommend to any and all looking for a totally amazing piercing experience! Totally rad! ️

Went in to get a body piercing, Justin was relaxed and very professional, and he made me feel like I was in safe clean hands. He did a great job at dealing with several customers at a time, as well as on the phone. 10/10 customer service, the man deserves a raise in my opinion.
I hated having to go in alone due to covid, I really wanted a hand to hold lol. But I was in the chair for I think a total of 6 minutes! Quick and - well a little painful but to be expected. I will be recommending this place to friends. Thank you for today!

I went in to see Brock several times while I was having trouble with my second lobe piercings (done elsewhere). He did a phenomenal job, was very attentive, and was very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend him for anyone looking to get a piercing.

Brock is the best piercer in town he's super nice and highly skilled! Plus on Wednesdays they have the 30$ + jewelry cost which is great!

I went in for my first tattoo and i went to see mark.guys friendly enough but was very shy. I ended up asking all the questions and im not a very outgoing person at all.mark was very cleanly but i think thats the only positive thing i can say.the guy that cashed me out was rude, had theyre product on the counter and he looked at me and said "really? ". They didnt explain very well how to treat it.i payed $150 for an incredibly small/simple tattoo, that took 15 minutes to pen.dont recommend for first timers.

I recently got a tattoo done by Alexandra. My complaints are that the original drawing was done quickly and that when I pointed out revisions that I wanted made, (positioning, alignment of the corners on the geometric design) "Lexi" assured me they would be fixed but then didn’t. I felt that she pressured and rushed me, and didn’t listen to my concerns and wasn't at all willing to put in the effort to give my a good tattoo.

When I later went back and expressed my dissatisfaction in person, Lexi refused to refund my money. I then called to complain to her co-worker, hopefully to get back my money. She works in the upper canada mall location of Steel n ink after March 21st.

I got my bellybutton pierced today with Brock and he did amazing. It was quick and clean with little to no pain. I highly suggest!

Jordyn is by far the most incredible artist I have ever dealt with. I’ve been getting tattooed from her since when she first started as an apprentice and will probably continue to get tattoos from her until I either have no more room or she stops! I now have a fully completed sleeve that is done in a Mandela theme with a couple of neat twists, I seriously couldn’t be happier with all the work she does and have nothing bad to say about the way she handles all of her work. Taking on some of the hardest parts about tattooing and constantly showcasing her amazing range of talent on a consistently basis Jordyn is on fire right now and you do not want to miss a chance to get a tattoo from her!

Got my piercing done a while ago, they did a good job and is so clean there. Btw my piercing didn’t get infected at all, I planned to get my next piercing here after this situation

Have been tattooed by Jordyn Greer many times now. Her artwork and attention to detail while always ensuring your comfortable and 100% satisfied, is second to none. Jordyn is an exceptional tattoo artist and well worth driving from St. Catharines all the way to Barrie just to have my tattoos done by her. 100% recommend to anyone looking for their first tattoo or a new artist.

I’ve gotten 3 tattoos here over the last few months from Jordyn and would highly recommend her based on all of them. Professional and clean shop with good COVID protocols. Will return for sure.

My daughter and her friend both had their cartridge pierced and they BOTH got infected! They had it done a while ago and it just keeps getting worse and worse. I'm gonna make my daughter go see a doctor but I am worried that unsanitary products could've been used.

I had a great time getting a second lobe piercing at steel n ink Collingwood, I had a very enjoyable experience, Sab did a great job, and talked me through the entire thing, letting me know what was going on at all times, and answered all of my questions. I got my nose pierced on Saturday with Justin and he was great! Super friendly and professional guy who answered all my silly questions ️ he did a great job and my piercing looks like it’s always been there! No redness or problems at all. 10/10 would get pierced here again.

I would NEVER book anything with this place after the experience i just had, i had and appointment booked for about a week and a half to get my fathers finger print done, the day before my appointment i received a call from Justin to confirm my appointment and i confirmed, so the next day i drove over 3 hours to Barrie only to be told that they had taken a walk in and that i would have to wait an additional 2 hours, bottom line NO CLASS, and appointments dont matter, this drive cost me as much as the tat would have, NEVER NEVER book here, walk ins mean more than you booking a certain time (only a 1 star becacuse i have to give it a star)

I loved the work, and service I got tattooed from Tara Lloyd at Steel and Ink. Not only was she very friendly, clean, and professional, her work is beautiful and crisp. She did a half sleeve of peonies on me, and I love them. Shading is SPOT ON, I’ve gotten so many compliments on the shading, and the lines are so crisp, and I got EXACTLY what I wanted for my half sleeve, not was professional but also punctual, we got the tattoo done in good time, and for a fantastic price. Couldn’t be more happier and I will always recommend Tara to people I know and will rep her work to those who ask. Everyone I spoke to at Steel and Ink were also very friendly and welcoming. Definitely will keep coming back.

I had the best experience with getting a piercing here! The guy who I met with, Brock, was awesome. Super friendly, and genuinely good at what he does. I am a huge baby when it comes to pain, and I can honestly say my piercing with him was the least painful one i’ve ever gotten. Also, when you walk in, it’s very well designed and clean. I’m really glad I went here as opposed to anywhere else!:)
