My 4 year old son had a day surgery here today and the staff was so great with him. They even gave him a pokemon stuffy after his procedure. Normally he is very shy but they got him to open up and feel comfortable. Thank you so much for making his surgery a little less frightening.

The doctor was excellent. Nurses are passive aggressive. The nurse made my child bleed while giving a needle and did not bother to wipe it or put a tape on it. Disappointed with my first visit

What a joke! Absolute waste of time, went in last night at 8: 30 with my daughter who broke her wrist snowboarding. Got an X-Ray done at 9: 30. One doctor on staff, sat in the waiting room until 6am. Nobody there to answer questions, my daughter was hysterical and exhausted. So we left, with the broken wrist and no treatment. Going to try Southlake after she gets some sleep.
Don’t waste your time, website said 6hr wait.

I visited today, Christmas eve, and was pleasantly suprised with the care and service I received. It took a total of 3 hours from beginning to end. Yes. It's cramped, yes it's antiquated and yes it was busy but when you look closely it's a health care team that cares! I give the staff full/top marks for doing their best in a building that was never designed to provide rhe volume of care it does today! I look forward to the new building in 2028 and after today I have committed to contributing to this new building and the community in some bigger way!

Worst decision I ever made was to have my son at this hospital. It’s been a year and a half and I’m still maddened by the entire experience. My ob I had chose disappeared without any explanation. I was transferred between whoever was available until I asked to see one person ongoing. My new ob had a massive superiority complex and yet couldn’t get anything in order when it came to my scheduled c-section. My c-section was rescheduled at least 4 times because the hospital wasn’t in agreement with my ob’s decision to have me induced as early as he wanted. The whole thing was extremely unsettling. Come the day of my induction the nurses were only around during the induction process. Once I delivered my baby it’s like the nurses went on vacation. I don’t know who they were helping but it sure as hell wasn’t me. I left a positive note for the delivery doctor and day nurses in particular but the night nurse was by far the worst. I was putting my son to my chest for my first attempt at feeding my first born child and she says to me “if I were you I’d give him a bottle or you're never getting out of here”. I asked for some guidance in breastfeeding and got told there wasn’t a lactation consultant available so no one else could be bothered with it essentially. After asking the lab tech to take time in warming up my sons foot before drawing blood she proceeded to do it her way which was to warm his foot in the middle of the night for 2 second and proceed to scrape and push the blood out while he yelped and screamed for about 20 minutes as she did this. This is one of the worst hospitals in the province without a doubt. The only reason I had a great delivery doctor was because he was from a different hospital and occasionally worked at SMH.

Appalling service, 7+ hours waiting with a 4 year old child. Absolutely unacceptable and horrendous service. Whoever is managing or administering this hospital should be held accountable.

I had an overall pleasant experience at this hospital. It was not busy when I went in. The staff were very nice and nothing but helpful. Thank you to the staff in the Emergency Dept.

Honestly I don’t know where to start, and how devastated I am and I am not exaggerating by making this statement, I see many signs or poster quoting “ patients are seen by a doctor in order of need not by time of arrival” I think employees thats are working there are doing totally the opposite. I brought my grandma to the emergency because of her dizziness and Vomiting, and paint and her blood pressure was 195/ 90 I don’t know what you guys consider worse conditions, and this our first time coming to this hospital, and the recipient where they checking the patients The lady was rout. The employees are laughing and chatting with one other this should be a job not a play zone.
Our checking time was at 7: 00pm to 12: 30 am
There is so much unfairness happening this is not what Canada stand for. We’re are all about unity, I don’t know I wish this could change the fact is maybe I wasn’t white to get Prioritize

We did not feel welcome at all, the high authority should do something about this.
I think they should consider the elderly more with respect.

Staff is super friendly but the doctor that saw me (I don't remember his name but it was on Tuesday February 7th) refused to drain a thrombosed hemorrhoid and just told me to add more Fibre into my diet and keep doing what I have already been doing (clearly not working!) Considering I'm pregnant and it is causing a lot of pain I am very displeased with the care given. I had 2 drained in the past in the midland hospital no issue so why he refused to do it confuses me. Told me to go back if it bleeds or is rock solid and larger absolutely ridiculous! Put 3 stars but more like a 2.5 star experience.

This rating is for Dr. Simms who retired few years ago. He delivered my daughter & is one of the best doctors this hospital had. Was really looking forward to seeing him again, we need more doctors like him! AMAZING! Hope you enjoy your retirement Dr. Simms, you’re amazing & you deserve it!

Lucky for me I've only had to visit this hospital for an emergency a handful of times - each time I was registered, checked in, and seen in a timely manner

The nurses and doctors at this hospital are fantastic - I have never had a negative experience

I have had two babies at this hospital as well - Dr. Scheeres was absolutely amazing
The nurses in the birthing unit are incredible
They are so attentive, compassionate, and super friendly

I would 100% recommend this hospital and its staff

These Doctors here are garbage, has no experience at all. We waited here for 5 hrs, all he said “I don’t know, I think and Oh I am not allowed “. What kind of Doctor is this? Very disappointed.

I am not from this area, and was in town for some work training and unfortunately needed to go to the ER in the middle of the night. They took me in right away, no wait time. The staff were very compassionate and definitely took my concerns seriously and promptly. I’m very happy with the service I received at this location!

Ants and cob webs all through the emergency room. Waited over 8 hours before even seeing a doctor. All the staff was extremely rude even told me straight to my face that my health is not that important.

It's a hospital. As such, they require you wear a mask. Do not put one on before entering as they insist you put on a new one. They will provide one. They have kid sizes.
Parking currently costs 10 dollars a day. I couldn't manage to pay for less. The machine does not take Bill's. Credit cards or twoonies.
The nurses were fantastic. They were helpful and attentive.

I have been at this hospital in the past and have had a very good experience. Today I brought my 84 yr old mom who was very ill. All staff were amazing despite how busy the waiting room was. The R. N. 's and doctors too were very caring.and attention to detail was better than I've experienced at ant other gta hospital and I have been to many.
It was truly an eye opener on how hard these care givers work and thank you so much.

I rarely go to ER, however, because of my current health condition I knew I needed help of an ER doctor. It took very little time to go through triage and registration. Shortly after I was seen by Dr. Safar. He was polite, sincere, thorough with his examination, provided a clear explanation of his findings and my underlying condition, offered a treatment solution, and reassurance. Thank you SMH team. Keep up the hard work.

Brutal wait times. Zero communication. Been sitting here since 10am- have yet to see a doctor.
Bloodwork taken at 11: 20pm and no update despite a nurse saying the bloodwork results were back at 1am & it’s now 3: 45.
There were 2 people in emerge when we came- This is unacceptable.

I have been to this hospital plenty of times with sick children, and everytime they amaze me more and more.
The care they give my children, the compassion they show and the respect and reassurance they give me as a worried mother is unmatched. I truly cannot say enough good things about the emergency department. Thank you to all of the staff who never cease to make every visit extremely thorough but also efficient.

Pretty disapointed honestly. I like the smaller staff snd the personalities.though very disorganized, however this hospital has been neglected for far too long. Clearly! Run down looks like a factory, no funding for any padded chairs, just hard and cheep plastic, only food that is available is in the workers cafetetia, and honestly.not good, cold, soggy, only excepts cash. Waiting room is tiny and dank.
Looks like only one mass surgery area for many beds. Clearly neglected by funind from ontario. Unlike hospitals that are in bigger cities. Just because its smaller DOES NOT MEAN LESS IMPORTANT

ER nurses are absolutely terrible. They were telling my wife that is faking her symptoms. They were rude and unsympathetic. First off, why on earth would anyone want to “fake” being unwell and waste their time at the hospital? Second, being a nurse is not the right profession for these rude women.
I asked for a blanket for my wife as she was shivering and they couldn’t even give us a blanket.
I wish I knew the nurses name. One of them was a younger female of Indian descent. She should be fired!
