Stone Gate Inn

It was a beautiful hotel. A little dated but beautiful. Although breakfast was not what they said it was. The rooms do not have robes or toasters in rooms like it states.

Studio on ground floor had awful pillows and even worse mattresses on the twin beds.
No TV remote till I asked.
Coffee maker not working. The front desk girl/manager did not even attempt to help get it going.
The front desk girl/manager has the personality of a door knob. No smile, no thank you, no hope to see you again …. NOTHING! How people like that work in the service industry is a mystery.
I would give zero stars if I could for service.

A nice place with easy access to hwy 11 but far enough that you can't hear the cars. Nice staff. The free breakfast was ok cuz it was free. Conveniently located next to a grocery store. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. I will be booking there again next year when I am in the area. Good value for money.

Excellent location and our room was large with very good bed. Central location and not far from the Casino. Free breakfast was nice as was the room rate!

We were impressed by the design and decor of the Executive Suite. The king bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed the included breakfast and the service was friendly as well. This Inn surpassed our expectations and we will definitely be back.

My favourite getaway! I have been coming here for years and have had many good times. Very clean and spacious rooms and also such a convenient location to Casino Rama and ski hills. Can't wait to be back!

The wifi doesn't work because there is too many people on it. The bathroom was full of hair and pee on the toilet. The tub plug was broken so we couldn't use that to bathe kids. I would never come here and make the special trip ever again. It was much better when they had the old owners.

NO SHUTTLE ONSITE, despite what the website says! Our room was not equipped (lack of towels, face cloths, glasses and everything in the kitchen was missing) and NOT clean. There was hair in the sink, garbage not cleaned out from the previous guests. The room (206) was not vacuumed, a dirty nightstand, and the list goes on. Several guests were disappointed about the shuttle, and management suggested we look for another hotel. Management told us the 'shuttle was 'complimentary' and, therefore, not required for our stay even though they advertise it on their website. The breakfast was not great, limited options and eggs were ice cold, (we paid for a breakfast at Tim Hortons). Three stars for service because we got a free stay for our MANY inconveniences, but it has to be used by May 31st. No way we will be back that soon! UGH!

Beware! Although the Stone Gate web site says shuttle to Rama, the new owners have discontinued this service! The web site hasn't been updated in years! The new owners are terrible at customer service. Rooms are dated, chair broken, no pen or paper, bathroom sink clogged, overall a bad experience. We have stayed several times before, never again!
Only good thing was the nice women who checked us in, Melanie, she was awesome! We spent $80 for a taxis. This hotel ruined are night out at Rama.

As soon we got there, you open the first set of doors, it smelled terrible of cigarette smoke from the workers, we finally get up to our room, to have candy wraps on the counter, dirty forks in the cupboards, stained dry wall. After further expecting our room I found 2 burnt outlets, hairs through out the bathtub, I found this one hilarious, a painting in the bathroom wasn’t even removed to paint the walls just painted around, the place was dirty, and not well taken care of. I would most definitely not go back or even recommend this to anyone!

Can anyone get a hold of an actual person at this hotel?

We stayed at this hotel for a wedding located in Oro Medonte. The front desk does not pick up their phone, tried calling them for weeks and leaving countless voicemails with no luck until reluctantly having to book via their website because I couldn't get a hold of anyone. This meant I couldn't receive a room blocked for the wedding guests and no discount.

Arrived at hotel and explained situation, lady at front desk applied a seniors discount to accommodate the inconvenience. However when checking out the next day, we had a different lady who refused to honour the same discount claiming it's wrong and its our fault for not getting a hold of someone? ! We also were very troubled to hear that our friends in a different room encountered bed bugs and have bites from their one night stay.

There was also a major lack of coordination between the hotel and the shuttle company to get us to the wedding venue.

Overall very troubling experience reflective of the poor management for this building as we encountered multiple problems within such a short period of stay. Just awful.

BED BUGS!

Stayed here for a wedding. Wedding rate was very reasonable, but upon arrival you are getting what you pay for. Rooms are original - looks like it’s never been updated. Drywall had been cut from piping and was left unfinished, stains on the ceiling from water damage, floors looked very dirty and clearly not professionally cleaned. There’s no wifi in the rooms, and at the best of times it barely worked. Had to run the water for 5/10 min before it would become warm enough to shower. Tub drain wouldnt drain properly, so as you shower water begins to fill the tub (gross). When we booked the room, we had to call everyday for a week before someone answered the phone. While we were checking in, we watched the phone ring and no one answer. Breakfast was bleak - if you want a coffee and a muffin it’s OK, otherwise you’ll probably go buy food instead.

The good things were rooms were large, had almost full kitchen and living room space. Mattress was very comfortable…minus the bed bugs.

The staff quickly refunded us and did not give me a hard time about the bed bugs which was nice. Besides that our experience was a negative one, we will not return and would not recommend at all.

Absolutely disgusted by management and some staff. The manager Maria has no clue of what she is doing. Her condescending attitude towards guests, and her bad mouthing staff is extremely unprofessional. The room was great, breakfast was good until Maria came into the hotel and made everything tense by making unreasonable demands to her staff. Made for an uncomfortable breakfast with my family. Staff shortage. The two ladies at the desk, Lori and Melanie were amazing and very accommodating. We were promised a discount by the supervisor Chris, and have yet to see anything. He promised an upgraded room when he found out how frustrated we were with the wifi and no AC. We never recieved anything. Save your money and go to an updated hotel. This one needs a lot of work and new management

Absolutely horrible. I've been waiting for a week for a refund and am still waiting (even though I was promised by 3 staff it would be refunded by the end of day) I have consistently called the hotel and can never get through to a worker, for five days now. I booked a room and received a call later in the night saying it's not available. I was left stranded to find another room in the middle of the night. Even though I had a confirmation code! Don't trust them!

It's nice. Comfortable and clean. Needs more towels, only 1 each to shower. No Cups to make a coffee. Bar soap is TINY. Out buying a bug bar of soap

Very impressed with my stay. The rooms are spacious with a full kitchen! Ample seating. Very comfortable. The breakfast was great, warm or cold options. The staff was welcoming and accommodating. We will definitely stay here again.

My family booked this hotel and they loved it. Honestly, one of the staff members 'sanna' was extremely helpful and friendly. Every aspect of our stay exceeded our expectations just because of her. She deserves to
be the manager here, the way she handles guests. The kids loved the pool area. Breakfast was wonderful! Overall, this is a great hotel and I would definitely stay here again.

Check in: smooth and fast.
Room: clean and comfortable. The beds were amazing.
Staff: friendly and courteous.

But.
Checked in for a friend's wedding around 2pm on a Sat. No issues. Very efficient. Got back to hotel later in the evening and here comes the trouble.
We had a group of folks waiting to checking in but was told that they don't have a room even though we had our confirmations. Then they gave our room (which was already occupied) to another guest and created a semi awkward situation when they walked in to our surprised faces. On top of that, key cards were not working and we had to constantly get them fixed. We had to wait for the manager to get there after midnight to sort everything out.

Eventually everything got settled but it was already 2 in the morning.

I didnt leave 1 star because other than the issues stated above, everything else was fine. Just hope hope that this doesn't happen often in the future.

Terrible! Breakfast was awful. Shuttle van service was disgusting - seat belt was broken. We will NEVER stay there again!

Wow, I can't believe how dirty our room was. There was leftover food in the microwave, opened package of orios in the cupboard. The fridge had bits and hair on the bottom. I peeked in the freezer compartment of the fridge and I kid you not, 4 inches of frost enveloped 2 old drumstick icecreams. One pillow had stains. The bathroom sink plug would not open. See pics for proof.

Was unsure abouting wanting to stay in hotels.this one verified that I do NOT.
Check in was easy.however our first room was not clean, we were put in another room. But I was now hesitant about cleanliness period. Also there was only one staff on duty.
It was an expensive and not comfortable experience.

Amazing place. I stayed with my family and we had a great time. Clean and comfortable. The best: the staff always willing to help

If you are a smoker DO NOT STAY HERE.

I only smoke outside. It was just after 12 noon and the floor manager came outside and told me to move further from the building, even though I was in the smoking area with a bench and ashtray.

I repeat do not stay here if you smoke they just harass you the whole time.
