Stonegate Animal Hospital

We have been bringing our furry family members to Stonegate Animal Hospital for a number of years now. We are truly grateful for the wonderful care they have always provided. Dr Panesar is always so patient, kind and helpful. We trust his judgement and he has always been transparent and fair about treatment options. Thank you to the team at Stonegate - we look forward to continuing to bring our dog to them and any future four legged family members we may have.

I have and will again recommend. I love the atmosphere and the staff are so friendly. Good prices.

Worst experience of my life, I call them on the phone and ask if I can make my payment in two weeks, they say yes.
I get my cat there, they check her out, then say "we never do work before payment" right before telling me I owe them 200 dollars for nothing, they expect that payment, instead they will be getting a summons for court.

I’m writing a review based on an appointment I had a while back (I believe December). I had some vaccines administered to my Kitty, all was well in this department:) I had also inquired about fleas as I noticed a bug in the house I was worried about. I had a video I showed. The receptionist told me it didn’t look like fleas, and I didn’t think it was either. I just wanted some reassurance. A tell tale sign of fleas on a cat is “flea dirt”. I checked my cat and the doctor checked my cat as well, no flea dirt to be found as well as no active fleas. I had asked the doctor to use a flea comb to see if there was any fleas, the doctor couldn’t find a comb in all of the clinic. I was told it was “definitely” fleas, despite any evidence. It was just confusing. I was sold flea spray for the house, which I did not use. I am leaving this review because I find feedback always helps an establishment better themselves to help their clients. The staff was friendly, especially the lady at the front! It just would be nice to feel a bit more confident in what the vet was telling me by doing a full examination with the proper tools!

A reliable and honest vet clinic, with great staff who have always met the needs of our pets and understood the situations we ourselves were in while needing help for our family.
We have always been showed kindness and accommodated for, as best as possible. So long as we don't take advantage of their kindness, which we never have or ever will.

After calling our regular vet and a few others on a weekend day with an urgent issue and having no luck getting an appointment, we lucked out and got an appointment with Stonegate. Dr. Panesar was amazing with our pet and made her feel at ease almost right away. He quickly gave us a diagnosis of her issue and she was scheduled for a needed surgical procedure a few days later. He took the time to explain everything and assure us that everything would be okay. Dr. Burrow performed the surgery and our girl had no complications afterwards and feels so much better! The other staff members were all very kind and helpful and took the time to answer our questions always. We were so impressed with the experience that we decided we will continue to come to this clinic for all future appointments. Thank you to all you all for making a stressful experience easier on all of us.

I had a wonderful experience at the clinic! I especially loved the clinic cat that they have. He was so great with my pet and was truly respectful. Even when I returned he was there to greet me each time! Very handsome boy and well behaved!

Normally I have a great experience, we appreciate them booking Micheal in every summer for our travel documents. However, this most recent visit included a horrendous interaction with the office’s resident cat. Our cat was in his carrier, trapped and defenseless, when the black cat jumped on top of our cat hissing aggressively, digging his paws into the open mesh, clearly trying to attack. The vet is a stressful enough place for animals and owners, but it is the absolute last place that we should feel is unsafe for our pet. This was extremely shocking and absolutely unnecessary for our already extremely skittish cat to have to experience. To have a shop cat wandering around with the capability to threaten or traumatize the customers is inexcusable. There was no sincere apology or follow up phone call about this incident, so I suppose the receptionists were not concerned about the effects their cat had on mine.

Thank you Dr. Panesar! It was Sunday and we needed an emergency appt. Our regular vet wasn't open. There was same-day availability at Stonegate and Dr. Panesar treated our 14mo puppy. Excellent care, gentle knowledgeable vet, lovely assistants and caring office staff. Follow-up call a few days later to check on our pup's progress. If/when our vet of many years retires, we'll be switching to Dr. Panesar!:)

Appointment ok but wanted dog's nails trimmed and forgot to ask them to do that. Former place I went to did that automatically.
Also, I called to get estimate prior to making appointment and final invoice came in about $350 more. That was disappointing. Staff friendly though.

We had nothing but positive experiences at Stonegate. Our puppy has been seen by both Dr. Panesar and Dr. Patel. Both were very caring and gentle. I appreciated that they try to do as much as they can in the exam room with you so you know what’s happening, instead of taking your pet away for simple procedures like needles. They always took the time to keep our puppy calm and explain everything to us, I never felt rushed. The price for care is also reasonable which is a nice bonus. If we still lived in Guelph we would happily be return to Stonegate!

Dr. P was amazing with our puppy. He had a severely swollen ear and our vet was not too worried about it but it kept getting worse. He was able to see what was wrong and provided us with medication to help him heal. His prices are reasonable as well. We will be going back to see Dr. P next week!
Thank you again Dr. P for taking care of Franklin’s brother who has an ear infection! We live out of town and he was able to see him on a Sunday without an appointment. We recommend Dr. P. He is amazing and super compassionate.

Dr. P takes time to explain everything going on with your pet. He shows true compassion and even became buds with our dogs

Dr Panesar was wonderful with us and kind when our elderly cat passed away when we first moved here. We've since brought all our pets here for check ups and always had a great experience. I feel like they make special effort to show care towards each animal and the prices are fair.

No complaints about the care of the animals, but my last 2 visits I had to wait 30-45 minutes until I saw the Vet. Both times I was the first appointment of the day, and the only client in the building when I arrived.

As for the prices, I can't compare among other vets in Guelph but they charge substantially more compared to vets in other cities. They'll also try to sell you something overpriced that you don't need before you leave every single time.

I have only used the services of Stonegate Animal Hospital once but based on that experience, I am extremely impressed.

I liked the vet a lot - he was very knowledgeable and listened to my concerns, and he didn't rush me out even though he was quite busy because he had kindly squeezed me in to his fully booked day; I loved how they printed a detailed quote prior to providing any treatment so there were no surprises; everyone was super friendly and caring; and I was especially impressed when they called the next day to see how my cat was feeling.

Technically I would rate them 4.5 instead of 5 because the exam fee was a bit higher than what I was quoted on the phone, and some of their services are somewhat more expensive than what I am used to. But regardless of that, I would still absolutely recommend them. Exceptional service and staff!

When I met Dr. Burrows, I was very pleased with her compassion, friendliness and how thorough she was in examining my puppy. She was great with Nyla and explained everything very well. I was happy to meet her and will continue seeing her and trusting her to give my pets the very best care.

Amazing and respectful. Nitro can be a handful, high anxiety and some ppl fear him. But it's all about the approach. And they treat him wonderful. Ty ty.

DO NOT BRINNG YOUR ANIMAL HERE. We brought our healthy Peterbald cat to be checked out (my girlfriend and I are moving and wanted to make sure they were healthy before leaving) and the Vet cleared him as perfectly healthy after doing a short exam
Of the cat. The very next day we wake up to our cat obviously bothered by his ear as it was completely full of blood. The vet didn’t not properly clean his tools and it has led to an infection in his ear. Besides paying $140 for them to tell us our cat is “healthy” we now have to find a new vet to treat his aural hematoma. PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR ANIMAL HERE.we have reported this clinic and the owner of the clinic to the college of veterinarians as well as the Wellington
Health Clinic.

Staff were very friendly and reassuring. They were kind to my cat and addressed his problem quickly. I am thankful for their prompt service and care
