Stony Swamp Trail

One of my favourite trails to feed the chickadees. There are a bunch of trails that link up around here so make sure you remember which lot you parked in.

Overall great hiking trail with lovely, friend birds that will land on your hand when approached. Me and my girlfriend had one of those one in a lifetime experiences.

Awesome little loop, light to medium foot traffic. Some bikes. Dogs on leash. Cross country ski in the winter months.

There's a light on Hunt Club so you can make the left turn, but be careful, traffic is fast. Good parking lot and outhouse, easy well-marked trails, not too stony.

Great area, easy walk but watch out for the rocks. Many chipmunks and red squirrels. Lots of different birds too

Varied terrain with lots of trails connected together. Definitely bring water and sunscreen because you'll need it.

Pretty good trail. The terrain is varied, which is nice. It's not technical, though. The alternating of sun and shade makes it good for getting a bit of vitamin D, but not sunburned. It's quite wide, so you can go any direction you like. It also seems like it would be leisurely for cycling as well. Only downside are bugs, but Ottawa is built on a swamp. Not much you can do about that. Overall, much better than Mer Blue Bog.

One of my regular haunts. Beautiful trail. Lots of chickadees to hand feed, squirrels and chipmunks too - but require more patience. A pilleated woodpecker makes an occasional appearance, but you don't want to hand feed this terrifying beast.

Bit Wet and muddy right now so wear water proof foot wear. Nicely maintained trails and space for distancing. Lots of wildlife.

Nice trails to walk and was not really busy. The only thing missing is garbage cans along the trails. They are only at parking spots and would be nice if there was some along the trails

A nice trail for walking, skiing or biking. Popular so the snow is hard packed and no snow shoes require but parts of the trail can be slippery.

Well marked trails, plenty of small birds and squirrels to entertain the kids (in all of us). Also a good interconnected trail system so if you want more open space or more woods or more wetland then at the next junction change trails.

Nicely maintained trails, lots of route options. Watch out for those chickadees, they are fearless; you better have some sunflower seeds.

Loved it. It had so many ways to walk in. There was an area which had old home there. Where the early settlers of Ottawa stayed at, years ago. The birds land on your hand to take and eat seeds right from your hands!

Fun trail for mountain biking. Water drainage isn't great so can be muddy after heavy rainfall.

Overall, an easy hike. Although sometimes muddy, the trail itself is surrounded by trees, except for a small crossing over an open field. The parking is limited; get there early to get a spot.

Many trails to choose from, all well maintained. Can't wait to return and cycle them in the summer. Also, free parking!
