My daughters been going here almost in 3 months and she loves it. They people who own/run it are really nice n professional! I would definitely recommend this place for any1. I find my kid has more structure n actually looks forward to karate nights. Now she's starting to show me lil things she's learned.

Street Smart Defensive Arts is a great place to do karate. It is fun and challenging to learn new things and they teach you great life skills. I really enjoy going and go 4 or 5 nights a week because it's so fun. The instructors are helpful and walk you through things but still make it a challenge. I really like them a lot. I like to make them proud of me. I recommend it to kids who want to learn karate and have fun.

This club rocks, It's also not just for kids. Join the club with your kids and grow together. Lots of fun, The Instructors really care about the students.

This is an amazing Karate School, with plenty of different classes, days and times to choose from which suits all needs and levels of students. Renshi Todd and Sempei Sarah are fantastic, professional and helpful. Its a very friendly family orientated environment which has helped my daughters build in confidence whilst keeping fit and most importantly having fun.

My two daughters (ages 6 and 4) attend classes for the last year at Street Smart. Renshi Todd and the rest of the wonderful teachers have really taken my girls under their wing. I see the discipline, leadership and life skills they’ve learned over the course of the year. Highly recommended!

Massive improvements in my sons behavior and attention. Since joining Street Smart he has become very disciplined and he loves every class.

We have recently rejoined this karate club and are so happy to be back. All the instructors are excellent. They set positive expectations for the participants. I frequently find myself saying "would you act this way in the dojo" and see an immediate change in behavior. The skills and life lessons they learn in class are easily applied outside of the dojo. We've seen a positive change in attitude, drive, and overall behavior. Due health issues within our family we are extremely cautious in regards to covid. We are impressed with the covid protocols in place within the facility and the instructors are respectful of individual decisions regarding masking. Overall we highly recommend Street Smart Karate. The prices are reasonable and what you get out of the classes makes it highly worth the investment.

Great balance of instruction and exercise, the kids love it. The instructors are firm but fair, great experience for the kids.

Renshi Todd And Sempi Trish are very talented and treats the kids with respect. My son has learned alot from Renshi and Sempi. He loves going to karate each week no matter if it's the online dojo or the physical dojo.

I love this place. My son trained at another dojo that was not even in the same league as this one. The owner Renshi Todd really cares about all his students and it shows after every class is over. He communicates with the students and the parents so we are all aware of the stages my son is at and what is needed to grade for his next level. There is a viewing room where we can watch the students train, he provides coffee for the parents. I could go on about how superior this place is. Everyone is welcome and I highly recommend it for everyone. The benefits of learning karate are so much more than just self defense. My son has learnt respect, how to interact with adults and the confidence level has really helped with his schooling. He can concentrate on his schooling and not the bullies around him

I have been an adult student for 3 years now.

I took my son here to give karate a try. Renshi Todd was wonderful from the moment we walked in. He made my son feel welcome and has encourage him every session. My son was surprised at how nice everybody is and how welcome they make him feel in class. We have completed our 6 week trial and have signed up to continue with weekly classes. I highly reccomend Street Smart defensive arts and Renshi Todd.

My two kids are currently enrolled in classes with Street Smart Defensive Arts and its been great. My kids went in with no experience at all and have come so far in 1 year, already earning their next level belts. The instructors are very personable and very good at communicating with parents and are great to encourage the children and offer corrections where and when needed.

These last few months have been trying and the instructors have stepped it up to make sure the kids don't miss out. Live classes via Facebook and rearranging the dojo so kids can do classes when it is deemed safe. Whether it is in person or on Facebook the kids look forward to their 2 classes a week.

Amazing! This has been so great for both my sons. They have learned a lot in a short time.and skills that no other sport can teach a child. We are thrilled to be a part of this!

My son started at the summer camp for a few years and finally joined the martial arts program. I have seen such a boost in his confidence, such respect for the coaches in the dojo and his level of commitment for such a young child. I have and will continue to recommend the Courtice Karate Club!

After a couple conversation with Todd my wife and myself decided to put Leland in Street Smart Defensive Arts they seem very supportive and care about the kids while teaching the importance of heath and discipline that you expect from martial Arts

This might sound silly, but Ive already noticed a very inactive child with ADHD become very active and attentive after ONLY ONE class. He really enjoys the setup, the staff, and his peers that he is learning with. He missed a class yesterday and all he wanted to do was practice what hes already been shown.

My son currently is enrolled and it’s been amazing experience! I’m beginning to see a difference in his attitude and self control! Renshi Todd is amazing and cares about his students! Thank you guys for an amazing experience thus far, & many years to come!

I was looking for something to put my 7 yr old grandson in to build his self confidence and to be more vocal as he is a very shy boy. Discovered SREET SMART DEFENSIVE ARTS and touched base with Renshi Todd. He was very helpful with my questions and also very patient with me. We decided to do the trial, which took six weeks. I enjoy watching my grandson and I have noticed quite a difference in him just in that amount of time. I asked him if he wanted to continue and he said yes as he likes going, so we have joined the program and are looking forward to all that he can and will learn from Renshi Todd. I would HIGHLY recommend STREET SMART DEFENSIVE ARTS.

My 5 year old daughter started a week ago and LOVES it. Such a great place and almost every day she asks if its karate night!

Currently my son is doing the 6 week trial and only a few class in we know we join long term. They are firm but far when it comes to discipline with a few push ups I also like that the class is broken up with fun exercises and then more focused learning exercises! Can't wait to see how far my son goes!

My son is currently going there, we did the 6 week and immediately saw how great the place is so now he is signed on to attend monthly!

Emma enjoys the programming at this dojo. She learns a variety of techniques (strikes/punches, kata, kali and sparing). Not only does she learn multiple skills to increase her safety, the warm up and skills are taught in a fun and dynamic manner that promote team work.

This place changed my life! The staff here are amazing!
I decided to try karate to learn self protection but it was so much more than that.
In a short time I developed an increase in confidence, memory, physical stamina, and an overall sense of well-being. I have never participated in any type of sport before and was unsure about it but it was the best thing I ever did for myself. I've received so much support and encouragement and it has truly changed me as a person.

I joined a bit over 2 years ago and the journey has been nothing short of amazing. My weight was up, my strength and confidence was down. I had massive amounts of anxieties about being in large groups or malls. Now I can keep up with my 7 year old and not be gasping for breath, I am at the same weight I was when I was 18 years old.but the best part of all, I'm not afraid to go out in public anymore because of what I was given for my "toolbox".

Joining something new as an adult can be intimidating, but not only are Renshi Todd and Sempai Trish AMAZING teachers, but the students here are overwhelmingly welcoming, encouraging and helpful. This is a great community of people who work to build each other up and help one another to succeed.

A fantastic family run dojo where kids and adults can learn without judgement. Firm but fair instructors with a passion for martial arts and overall fitness. Amazing programs including summer camp! Wouldn't go anywhere else!

My daughter has been a member for 3 years. What I truly love about this club is that there are classes every evening and so there is no reason to miss a class. The oshawa location provides a tv to view inside the class and ajax provides chairs to view the class from the back of the gym. We enjoy being a member of this family. My daughter has learned so much and a once timid girl that use get upset at the thoughts of hitting someone or even standing up infront of people is now helping to teacher younger students and her kick/punch/sparring is something I hope she will never have to use outside of the dojo. She is full of confidence and as a parent, I am certain I made the right decision in sending her to Street Smart.

Street Smart Defensive Arts is an amazing place to learn karate and self-defense. My family has been involved with the program for almost 5 years. It presents a family-friendly, non-competitive, fun atmosphere for learning new skills. Students learn at their own pace and are encouraged to improve themselves not compete with one another. The staff/instructors are patient, friendly and wonderful with children. Every class offers new skills/drills and is always a positive experience!

I find that every teacher is very inclusive and never puts any one down. When I first started out I was very shy, didn't talk in class about class but "Street Smart Defensive Arts" Really Helped me (John Kozak Age: 12)

Have been taking my son for over a year. He loves the whole experience, the classes are very well taught and he has been able to make friends with quite a few other students. Renshi Todd loves teaching karate and it shows, all the instructors have fun with the kids while teaching them very valuable life skills.

This place is like no other. Renshi is an A+ person who puts each student first and ensures they are directed in the right way. The place is amazing. Owen is 7 and has been a member since he was 4. His confidence has grown and he is learning how improtant it is to focus.

I enrolled my 4 year old son in Renchi Todd’s class and he loved it so much that my older daughter signed up as well. I would highly recommended this facility to anyone looking for a martial arts program for their child of any age. Great teaching staff and different activities each time we come
