Studio So Lara

Nice space and people, but each time my haircut just hasn’t turned out right. I don’t notice until later, since it looks fine leaving the salon when it's styled & hidden with curls. However, for the cost the haircut it has been lacking proper shaping (bangs cut weird, layers done too deep into bottom layer, ends not feathered well). My haircuts have been with Brennah & Rachel.

Courtney is the BEST! Sooo good at what she does. I have NEVER been unhappy with my hair and I pretty much let her do whatever she wants each time. Highly recommend her!

Loved my hair experience! I went to the Kitchener location in the past and didn’t vibe with the stylist but I really enjoyed the stylists at the Waterloo location. They were all so friendly and the shampoo chair was so comfortable. I definetley recommend seeing cassia!

Our appointment didn't even last 30 minutes! Everything was rushed, we ended up with shorter hair than we wanted, and truthfully it ended up looking like a triangle when we got home. Way overpriced for what we ended up with, and service was not very welcoming. Very upsetting, guess we have to wait a year for it to grow back.

Courtney Zinken does a phenomenal job. Everytime I get my hair done it is better than the last time. I have had many stylist over the years and she is the first to get me the perfect ashy blonde every time. She is honest about what cut/ styles will or won’t suit my features which I really appreciate.

She treats every client like her best friend while remaining super professional. She constantly goes out of her way to help the other stylists with advice on colour and cuts while continuing to provide amazing customer service to her clients.

I followed her from the Kitchener, location which is much closer to my house, to Waterloo when she moved studios and I’d follow her pretty much anywhere. I don’t trust anyone else with my hair anymore.

Studio So Lara is clean, bright and trendy. Everyone is so welcoming and kind when you visit. It really is the best salon in town. And Courtney is the best stylist!

I absolutely love coming to Studio So Lara. The studio itself is beautiful, well organized and the entire staff is accommodating and welcoming. Courtney always goes above and beyond when doing my hair and uses the best products available. I always leave with a smile on my face!

And the scalp massages are always to die for. This place is a literal spa day for your hair and the girls there create such a positive environment.

Not to mention these ladies are constantly continuing their professional development and taking workshops to always stay on the cusp of the latest techniques and styles.

After much worry having to switch hair salons, Studio So Lara appears to be my new hair home! Lisa was not only friendly, she gave me an awesome haircut and eased my new hair stylist worries! The salon was clean, the chairs were comfy, everyone was friendly and I would absolutely recommend you check out Studio So Lara. If you’re looking for a great men’s cut, Lisa is an absolute pro. 10/10 would recommend!

I have been going to this location for about two years and love going every time. A lot of higher end salons can feel uncomfortable if you aren't stick thin or super pretty, however it is the total opposite here! The staff and stylists here are sweet and kind and make you feel very welcome. I have been seeing Brennah and she is very kind, gives me her honest opinion and I leave loving my hair every time!

Got a blowout done by Rach and absolutely loved it. I've gotten blowouts before and all around love them, they make you feel like a million bucks, but never have I had one that got worn in so beautifully. It almost looked better the more lived in it got and held so beautifully. The products she used were also incredible quality - its been a few days later and I still haven't had to wash and my hair has more volume and a smoother texture than usual. And Rach is just an absolute delight as a human.

I found Courtney through the studio's instagram after trying out a few different stylists over the years. Courtney was extremely informative, welcoming, and accommodating with my needs and questions. She was able to manage my expectations while making sure that we agreed on the vision every step of the way. Highly recommended her service, not only for her talent but for her outstanding personal skills as everything she does for her clients is done with the ultimate goal of instilling confidence through beautiful hair.:)

100/10. OK quick story time: I'm super anxious about changing up my hair and have only had it dyed twice before visiting Rachel at So Lara. She put my anxiety about dying my hair again at ease with lots of open communication before and during my appointment. We did a big chop and a full colour. It was the first time I've come home from a hair salon absolutely glowing and IN LOVE with my hair! Rachel was SO lovely to work with, she worked quickly with confidence, was lovely to chat to, consulted my opinion on colour and style throughout my appointment and made the whole experience really enjoyable! If you want to have the best haircut of your life, visit Rachel and So Lara, run, don't walk. You wont regret it! Thank you Rachel!

I was nervous looking for a new hairstylist I could trust but Studio So Lara put that to ease. I had such a good experience with Taylor. She really listened to what I needed my haircut to be like and did such a wonderful job too! She was really sweet and also helped me figure out what hair colour I could do for my next appointment. I found Rachel on Instagram while looking for a new hair dresser, and when I came in for a consultation I instantly knew that she would be the perfect fit for me. Rachel is very educated when it comes to hair and it is so refreshing to have someone who not only wants you to have the best hair possible, but wants to provide the best service they can. Rachel did an amazing job on my hair giving me the dream natural blond of my dreams!
