We just had my baby’s first haircut here and it was such a great experience! Nancy cut his hair and she was very friendly. She took the time to ask me questions and interact with my baby. The place looks great and they have so many things to keep your kids busy. After the haircut, the kids were playing in the ball pit. Amazing first time experience!

I have been taking my 3 year old son here for over two years now. My normal go to stylist is Nancy. However, Kamini has also cut my son’s hair and she did an amazing job as well. Nancy and Kamini, you both rock! Thank you for the stylish cuts for my son!

Came here for my sons haircut as we had a good experience the first time. The First Lady was amazing, this time we had an appointment with Tas.we came in he sat in the car and right away the hairdresser started cutting, didn’t give him a chance to get used to the car or the environment. We had made 2 appointments by accident and i dont know how that happened but she was already annoyed with us. My son freaked out at her touching his hair and instead of just giving him some time to calm down she kept pressing it, and pressing it. When he was crying so much she suggested he sit on my lap, I took off my jacket and put it on the chair near me and she’s like no over there and I’m like it’s fine we’re the only people in the salon so she mumbled something in her language about us. As I had the baby on my lap slipping and sliding because the hair cutting robe was slippery and he was crying and having a tantrum, she tried to cut his hair that way. It was a mess and torture, he was screaming and flailing. We left with holes missing in the back of his head. I understand toddlers are hard to cut but it requires much more patience and time, perhaps a peek a boo session, letting him calm down when he was screaming so hard. We kept telling her enough that’s enough but she just kept going, we should have got up and left. The first visit was amazing and the hair dresser had so much patience, we unfortunately will not be revisiting this establishment. If you do chose to come here, do not book with tas

We took our 2-year-old daughter last week for her first haircut, and we must say we were disappointed with the cut and service. The hairdresser didn't do anything to make the child comfortable. All she did was play some video and pressure me to hold my daughter's head down. The cut was uneven at the back, and lots of long hair was left out, strangling. I had to fix a few of them myself. We visited styles and smiles only for the experience, as this was our daughter's first. I regret not taking her to our hairdresser, to whom we have been going for years. I will not visit this place again.

Our stylist Tas was very business like. My son was a bit uncomfortable and was not cooperating but she made the experience even worse. She seemed unhappy and in a bad mood. She was holding my boys head down so hard while he was crying. She didn’t try to make him comfortable at all. The haircut was a disaster too. I do not recommend this place.

My son has had his hair cut 2 times now he loves it, watches car tunes while his hair is getting cut ‍️ definitely recommend them for your kids hair needs.

What we had hoped to be a fun outing for my almost 2 year old grandson, quickly turned into a horrible experience. I know it can be a challenge to cut a child’s hair but the hair stylist he had didn’t even try to engage with him at all. He was strapped into a car…she then went at him with what seemed to be sheep shears! He screamed in terror, his mother and I tried our best to calm him but she continued all the while with her hand firmly on the top of his head holding him down. She then proceeded to use a rather large pair of scissors carelessly close to his face! If we weren’t holding him down a lot could have gone wrong! In no way was this treatment he was given suitable to his age. Not only was the haircut a disaster, he also suffered 2 cuts to the back of his head. Needless to say, we will not be recommending your salon!

Sue was so lovely from the very beginning! It was our daughter’s first hair cut. She put on a show for her and made her feel comfortable. She was attentive in spraying the water onto her hand first then putting it on my daughter’s hair. She was able to work around my daughter moving and fussing. She blew bubbles for her to cheer her up! I was so impressed with how she was able to get a good haircut done within 15 minutes even though my daughter wouldn’t sit still.

I wish i had of read the reviews before going.i came before with a friends daughter who had a wonderful experience so i decided to take my son for his first hair cut. I ended up having Tas, who was rough putting pressure on my son to hold his head down, rushing, not allowing me to reposition or straighten him n, I had to stand up multiple times to get her to give him a breathe from crying. We were in the chair a matter of 5 minutes. My son was excited about a hair cut but she didn't prewarn or introduce herself, just started to buzz his head did not greet either of us (just under 20 months old) she made the situation way worse than a first hair cut had to be, using force, no attempt to make the situation better, seemed annoyed, didnt want to workz unfriendly. I regret booking with this lady, even another parent was watching in disbelief at the time.
She did not wipe off the hair and left it all over my son, she seemed misserable to be at work and not only horrible interaction experience, my son now has red marks all over his neck from the buzzer and or hands. I will be taking this further in hopes this doesn't happen to anyone else's poor child.

It's unfortunate that one bad apple can hurt the business name this much in peoples eyes as i used to advertise and say such great things about it, as the design, layout and other staff members appear to be amazing.

Note to self, don't book with tas:)

Love this place for my son's haircuts. He is on the spectrum and cries every time and Nancy is so patient with him and so friendly. Thank you Nancy. You are a blessing.

Went for my son’s first haircut. He loved the car chairs but he did not want to sit in one for his haircut. Sofie the stylist was the sweetest and tried so hard to help calm him down with everything from cocomelon to blowing bubbles. When we realized he wouldn’t sit still, she went to work and somehow pulled off the cutest hair cut even though he was crying and throwing himself around the whole time. Sofie is a miracle worker and a sweet, patient woman. 10/10.

Nancy Is Amazing. So good with my little guy and super patient! I live approximately 2 hours away so after his first cut I decided to try somewhere else because he was so good with Nancy but the drive was long. Big mistake. He wasn't having it! They couldn't get it cut. Nancy always gets the job done with as little stress as possible for my little guy. I will continue to drive down the 2 hours to go here to get his hair cut. Good experience. My son loved Tas. She already knew what type of hairstyle I wanted. She asked me before chopping long hair. Perfect haircut as requested.

I’m looking for a salon to cut my sons hair and of course … as most people do. You find a spot and look for the reviews and comments. I have never posted a review but I have to say just the replies from the stylist to the bad reviews is horrible customer service. In every review that a customer was disappointed with the service or style etc … the stylist replying puts all the blame on the customer and the children’s behaviours. Every review. Their response is rude, and completely turns people off from visiting the salon. Thats really unprofessional and as a parent looking around for professionals … unfortunately this salon would not be it. Just a friendly review because I have never seen responses to customers like this.

Nice place to make kids excited about the haircut but the overall quality of hair cut is bad. I only went there twice. I have two daughters and both times one of them got a bad haircut. There is a stylist name Mita. Get anyone but her! If you want to try this place. She was in a rush for some reason. I was unlucky enough to get her for one of my daughters both times. I will not go there again.

I had high expectations but unfortunately we were disappointed. We came here for my baby boy’s first haircut ever.at 12 months old. The cut was alright, but the experience was very sub-par. Our stylist was very business like, started clipping right away without waiting for baby to settle down and feel comfortable. The baby hated the clippers and cried a lot but she made no attempt to smile at him, make him comfortable, or even give him a break. Her response to my ask for a break was that he would only get more aggressive with time, which is absolutely not true for most babies. I was mostly astounded so I didn’t raise my concerns right away, but I did ask if she could use scissors for a bit instead of the clippers, to which she said no. I can understand that clippers are more effective, and the cut looks fine — but I do think that she should have also focussed on the experience for the parent and child — letting the child get more comfortable, singing some songs, making some funny faces, etc.if we just wanted someone to get right to it and cut, we could have gone to an adult salon. With a name like styles and smiles for kids, we expected a much more child friendly approach. Disappointing. We will definitely have to look elsewhere. Hope you can improve your experience when it comes to friendliness and focus on making this much more memorable for families.

My friend has been going there for years to get her children's hair done. They are great with all kids, including autistic children. The owner is especially kind and patient with kids who are a bit fearful of hair cuts. I strongly recommend this place:)

Very clean and hygienic. Take care of covid related protocols. Have a good setup for kids. First time we went there, we were turned away, told it is by appointment only. So make sure to call and book an appointment before you go. And there was this air of hesitation from the staff that I did not undertstand.

Next time went with an appointment. My toddler was giving us a really tough time in getting a haircut took us some time to settle him down, interestingly we were told that it was time for other bookings and whether we wanted to get the hair cut or not? Told them to give us some time. Not sure what was the issue but the staff was not that welcoming, perhaps just a long day. Finally the kid did settle down enough to get his hair done, overall not bad.

Rushed and not really what I expected for my little ones first hair cut/style.

Will be looking into another location going forward.

My 2yo daughter had her first cut with Nancy. She was very friendly and knew how to handle her to get her to look down etc when needed. Very sweet and thoughtful bonus service, Nancy kept a strand for a memento as it was her first cut/baby hair. The kids' chairs are colourful and inviting. My daughter had a good experience.

Her hair was long on the left (bangs and side by the cheek) by about half an inch-1inch. I fixed up the side at home, but the bangs were already cut a bit too short to even out.

Would be nice if someone answered the phone to answer questions I’ve called many times… can’t get a hold of no one & need to know who is experienced to cut hair for children with autism………

We just had an appointment for my 3 year old daughter for her bangs cut and we are completely disappointed with the overall service. My husband took my daughter and he was only 4 minutes late to the appointment, our appointment was at 3.30 and he arrived with my daughter to the salon at 3.34, the stylist Sil claimed how she called and the person who answered the phone claimed we never booked an appointment. First, I am the mom who booked the appointment under my phone number and never received a phone call. Secondly, she decided to take the next customer who walked in at the same time for their appointment at 3.45 while our appointment is from 3.30-3.45 and at the end it only took her to cut my daughter's bangs in 5 minutes. To top it off, she was rude throughout the time she spent with my daughter and when my daughter asked for yellow colour hair clip she sprayed her hair with yellow paint. She is a kid and you as a stylist should've paid more attention to what she was asking for or you should've asked for the parent's permission. Neither took place.

We had several appointments at this place with Nancy before and we never ran into these kind of issues. This will our first and last appointment with Sil and probably the last time we take our kids to this salon.

So happy with our experience here. My 4 year old was nervous for her first haircut but now can't wait to go back. Sue did such a great job even on a squirmy kid who didn't want to sit still.

Worst place ever i am going there since last 4 years and something happened to them since this is 3rd time I requested them same thing that Do Not make my son hairs short i just want light hair cut for him but absolutely its my mistake to go there again and again each time they charged $25 to $30. For not follow the instructions I honestly don’t know what is wrong with them each time they only leave 1 inch hairs on my son head. Very unprofessional

Got my son’s first haircut here by Tas, she’s amazing! I was a little nervous as he’s not well with new people but she would dance and sing for him and he loved it! I 100% recommended this place, great first experience

The service provider Tas wasn’t so nice to my 13th month old baby, she didn’t want to make my baby comfortable either.they didn’t give any special treatment for my baby's 1st haircut like other kids haircut place do. They are specialised for kids haircut thats why i choose them but not satisfied with their service for kids 1st time haircut. Totally disappointed.

Hi i have used their services for my kid Haircut. The person who did thr haircut was TAS. She was very rude and was in rush, she didnt even clean my kid after the hair cut.
She was not at all friendly.

Scheduled a haircut for my 1year old son with Sue. She did a great job and we were in and out within 15 mins.

A pixie cut was a big decision, and Sue comforted me with her magical fingers from the beginning citing the pros & cons realistically. She was like my fairy Godmother who put me through a major metamorphosis. My family and my babies were smiling all evening that made my day! Thanks Sue …

My experience with the hair cut for my 1 yr has been great. But what i extremely dislike is that they do not answer your calls, appointment via website is full most of the time & they dont reply to voice mails or emails. How is one supposed to contact them?

My toddler daughter (who does NOT like haircuts at all) did not cry/fuss even once at this salon. I was pleasantly surprised (and so relieved!). Nancy was great! Clean facility, professional/friendly staff, great value.can't really go wrong. Highly recommend

I came in for my appointment lady TAZ was so rude after 2 sec of walking in. Told me I was late with attitude I had called 3 times to tell them I’ll be 10 min late also left a message

I also apologized. My 20month son was hesitant to sit in the car.looked it was filthy dirty.with hair all over I’m sorry but that was disgusting. I asked her nicely if she could clean it b4 we put him on. She was clearly irritated
He refused to go in the car. So she suggested we sit in the chair. She was so rude by telling me do you want a cut or what. Long story short. She was not friendly rude and not even trying to make my son comfortable it was about just get on the chair and let me finish and get you out.waste of time drove all the way from port hope. What a waste. They need some seriou training on COMMON COURTSEY CUSTOMER SERVICE!?

I've taken my son here a few times and the ladies are always so great with him. He loves sitting in a car or airplane to get his hair cut! Pre-covid he also loved playing with all the toys as a treat for sitting so still!

I went there with my 1 year old son to get his first haircut.when they finished they ended up taking the hair that they cut that's mixed with other peoples hair and put it in a baggie and gave it to us.my sons hair is blonde but there was black and brown hair in the bag.and not to mention the barber that was cutting my sons hair started to smell his hair mid way threw the hair cut.

My daughter had her 1st Haircut yesterday at Styles and smiles. Nancy took our appointment, and I couldn't be happier. Nancy was patient, kind, really talked to my daughter and knew Paw Patrol was a go to. Nancy gave me hairstyling tips (as a Dad, need those) and we got flower hair clips as part of the experience. When I forgot my daughters hairclipping on the counter, Nancy walked out and met us in the parking lot. You forgot the most important part, she said. My ex would have killed me. My daughter's favourite part was getting a lollipop. Thank you Nancy. You're a gem! Thank you Styles and Smiles For Kids!

Great experience, in and out in less than 20mins. Sue did a great job! Due to Covid19, they took our temperature and sanitized our hands. Masks required over 2 years old:)

Sue was amazing! She was gentle and patient with my 15 month old and made him very comfortable. I'm so glad I found this place and all the reviews really helped. The only thing I struggled with is getting anyone to pick up the phone when I had questions. If that wasn't there, this would definitely be a 5* experience!

Friendly service. Seem to be on the ball for health and safety - limited customers and staff, cordoned off areas, masks, and a certified cleaning regime. Kids (3 and 8) seemed happy despite the weirdness of getting a haircut wearing a mask.

Wouldve been much cleaner and in need of a fulltime sweeper. Hairs everywhere. But Sue was definitely amazing!

I have been twice now, and each time has been to see Pearl. She does an amazing job taking care of my son's hair. I highly recommend her for your child's haircut.

When comes to hair cut a big no no for my son, because he ll cry out so loud and make everyone feel bad. But Today.:).
Never seen my son sitting so quiet for a hair cut. All credits to the stylist “Sophie” she was incredible in handling him and was very fast. She would handout the toys at the right time to finish tuff cuts. Very friendly staff.

There a a little play area. Guess what - it was very hard for us to take him home.

We have come to this place 4 times now and really enjoy it. They do a great job cutting our sons hair and at a reasonable price. You do not book appointments, it is a first come first serve where you write your child's name down once you arrive and wait to be called. Your child gets to sit in a car while receiving a haircut which is great and there is a bunch of toys and a ball pit in the back to keep your kids busy while waiting or afterwards for a little play time. They also have a stamp card where you get 10 haircuts the next one is free!

The people are great with kids, there's toys for the kids and the chairs for the little kids are cars.

Went there to get some information for my son’s first haircut and the lady I spoke to was not friendly, I told her I need the hairs back for my son and she kinda made fun of that and made some disrespectful comments. Will not recommend this Salon to anyone.

If youre getting a cut for your kids do not look any further. I took my two nephews to this place and could not have been happier. The ladies were so kind and courteous. Most importantly they were amazing with the children.

Amazing experience! Our stylist, Sofi, was so patient and sweet with my daughter. She's 5 mo old, but has a full head of hair! I was worried that my little one would not cooperate, but Sofi knew exactly what to do. We will definitely return for her next haircut.

Took my little man here for his first haircut recommended by a friend. They did an AMAZING job! Haircut looks lovely, and the environment was wonderful for a little one. They were patient and so calming to a little one for their first cut and I will 100% be back.

Took my 15 month old boy in for the first time and couldn't be more happy. Will definitely recommend and visit often!

My baby boy's first 2 haircuts went great. But we weren't cutting it too short. The 3rd one was another story. The neck was sooo mis-aligned and asymmetrical. The hair starts too high at the neck and his ear got nicked and he started bleeding. I understand mistakes happen because kids move too much but the stylist was in such a hurry! It was still 4.30pm. 30 minutes left to closing. Either way, staff were always nice, friendly, and patient. They also apologized and made us pay approximately half the price. It's great that they did something about it but at this point in time, I'm not sure I'll go another time because i just don't want such a bad short haircut for my LO.

Great kids haircuts. Play area with toys and the stylist chairs are cars. Stylists are fantastic, fast and patient. Worth the extra $$, especially if you have fussy kids.

They are absolutely amazing! They are great with kids who are scared, happy, move a lot. There is sometimes a line as you can't reserve a spot but it's worth it as they have toys and a ball pit for kids as they wait.

I've taken my daughter there twice for a haircut. Both times the stylist was fabulous (one blonde, one brunette. I can't remember their names). Very sweet and patient with my daughter. Very professional. Did a great job. There was another woman there, I think she is a manager, though at first I wasn't sure if she even worked there. She was on her cell the entire time I was there. Just as the stylist was about to start my daughter's cut, she had to stop and cash out a previous customer. I figured she (the stylist) was the only one working there. When another customer was ready to cash out, the stylist was in the middle of doing my daughter's cut, so this other woman reluctantly went over to help the customer. That's when I first realised she worked there. She continued to talk on her cell the entire time she was cashing out the customer. Did not look up or say thank you once.
The place itself could use a good cleaning. The chairs are not cleaned between customers. My daughter had hair from another child on her face before her cut even started. Most of the toys have hair on them as well.

I was in styles and smiles today when an Indian woman came in with twin girls the stylist informed her discreetly the girls had lice and they had to leave; the mother became angry and will probably write a bad review but I want to say good job styles and smiles for asking her to leave immediately you are always kind and respectful and do a great job

Very friendly hairdressers that are great with the children. My daughter loves going there and keeps asking me to take her to get a haircut. The only reason why I'm not giving 5 stars is because the play area for kids needs a bit of cleaning, but that's it. I'll keep bringing my daughter there for sure!

I’ve been here a handful of time. I had a preference for Sue who really cares about what parents want for the kids and she always double checks before she cuts.

I had horrible experiences with two other stylists. They both seemed to make a decision for you. They don’t care about your preference in length and style. I showed a clear picture of what I wanted for my son but they both ended up doing their own thing. Although she was nice and personable, I was extremely disappointed with the way Sophie cut my sons hair. My son had fairly long hair. I don’t know why she used a clipper instead scissors. She cut it way shorter than I had showed her in the picture. I am beyond upset and never going back here again!

This is the worst kid’s salon I have ever been to. Their employees are totally unprofessional and the owner is very dishonest and disrespectful. Beware of their false advertising on website as they claim to have newly renovated the place but none of the play areas looked renovated. The photos of the interior posted on their website are not the same and gives false representation of the reality. This was my second visit here and I am never coming back again! Don’t waste you time and money here! There are much better and professional salons for kids nearby.

Great prices and my boys haircuts were great! Only problem was the whole store was gross and really really unclean. Hair everywhere and the toys were all dirty. I’m not sure if we would go back I’m a bit nervous of lice and other hair conditions that could be transferred from all the dirty hair!

Terribly disappointed. Horrible, horrible customer service. We came at 5: 15, door was locked, nobody came even after we knocked. Waited 5 minutes, and the lady (Sue?) blasted us, telling us she's been cutting hair since 10 (understandable, but nicer ways of saying it, and you own a haircutting place? Isn't it to be expected?)
Finally lets us in, muttering 'Christ' under her breath, rolling her eyes, and telling us we'll have to wait over half hour. We're fine with the wait, but see they've raised price to $19, so we leave. Not giving my business to people like that, and will be telling my friend's circle about the severe, severe lack of customer service.

This is a great salon for small kids. They’re very skilled hairdressers, and I love the finishing touches like adding flowers, sparkles, and a hair style is always included with the cut. I don’tuse clippers on my son, and they cut his hair with scissors in a timely manner, providing a classic yet stylish cut. I love the extras like the ball room and toys that keeps the kids occupied while we wait. No appointment I required but I do notice it’s very busy around noon, less do later in the afternoon. We’re happy to be regular customers!

Best experience with them since the first haircut for my child. Too bad we moved across country and can"t go to them anymore. Nobody can measure up to them. They are the best.

Have been there twice but won’t be returning based on last experience. First time was my daughters first haircut and they were kind, took their time and made sure I was involved and happy with the finished cut.
I went back based on this, but had a terrible experience based on the staff member. She was rough with my daughter and complained “she can’t do this on her own” and “I’d have to hold her still. ” (My daughter was not fussing or moving at all- I had given her my phone to watch a show). She asked how short I wanted it and just began cutting- took less than a minute. I questioned if she would be fixing and softening the cut, then she proceeded to cut more without clarifying and made it very uneven.
She also asked why I was fussing “cause she is just a little girl. ”
I asked for another stylist to take over, who thankfully took more time and was very sweet with my daughter and made sure she liked her braid.
Very disappointed by the careless and unprofessional manner of that staff member.

My go-to barbers for my 2 y/o and will be for my younger son when he grows more hair (lol). We absolutely love Bella and the play place that they have there.

Staff are amazing! And the styles are great I've been happy every time with my boys haircuts. My boys love coming here which is a bonus as usually it's hard to keep kids still for a haircut. I'm impressed.

The haircut that my son received was good but the service here was lacking in my opinion. They are great once your child is in the chair but my family was not greeted at all when we walked in shortly after they opened, and we had never been there before so we didn't know that we needed to "sign in" by putting our son's name on a list in order to be served. There needs to be clearer instructions and a simple "hello" from staff as you walk in.
