The best meat in Richmond Hill. Seriously, THE BEST. Also, try the House Made deli roast beef and turkey for sandwich’s: fresh. Everything else is good too. You pay for the quality, no doubt about it, but worth it, if you can afford it. Great, helpful staff too:)
Really nice neighborhood store. The food is always fresh and offers a good variety despite the store's small size. While the prices are higher than those at the supermarket, the store has a pleasant family feel to it.
I’ve scrolled through some reviews and… people who are complaining about the prices at Sue’s market… well, people, that’s obviously not a Wallmart or Costco. You don’t come to Sue’s for your weekly groceries or bulk purchase. You come here for nice selection of fresh meat and fish. Or salamis and smoked turkey, that will be cut for you in front of you. They’ve also got cheeses that you won’t get in ordinary grocery store. Their fruit produce is always organized and fresh. And pastry, their croissants whisper “butter’’ when you eat them. You can’t expect such products to be cheap. I like this place cause I know exactly why I’m coming here and what I’m paying for. So people, please, while reviewing places do it objectively.
When you enforce a new rule/ policy you just made up on the fly make sure you give people grace period to adapt to it. Not used to this treatment and hope 3-4k a month revenue over 2 bottles you refused to except is worth to you. Congrats on your new policy of accepting 6 bottles only hehe
Nice store. Really is. But the service at my visit was very cold. Not used to seeing such poor service. And the young woman at the bakery area did not handle my order properly.
Went for groceries and everything seemed kind of expensive. There was this really rude cashier and barely even wanted to look at us while asking if we needed bags, all this comparing to the attitude and service towards a clients before us.
Bought a chicken pot pie earlier today. No instructions on how long and temp to bake at (reheat). Was told 350 for 25 minutes. It was still cold and the pastry was raw. Anyways, when all was done it was awful. Beyond light in terms of the flavour. Can confirm probably the worst chicken pot pie I have ever eaten. Prices in this place for the same products elsewhere are 2.5-3x more. Bakery is always decent though
I have been passing by every morning and got attracted by their flowers and plants outside. This was my first time shopping at Sue’s market yesterday. Bright and organized. This neighborhood food store seemed to have good selection. However, the prices are much higher than in the nearby food stores or supermarkets at least 2-3 times.
This neighborhood food store has good selection and the food is always fresh. However, the prices are much higher than in the nearby food stores and staff is not very friendly.
I've been thinking about writing a review for a couple days now. Tonight I opened up a prepared salad I bought two days ago and it had already gone bad and it was $12.30!
I lived in Richmond Hill for years. Sue's use to be the place we shopped. My mom wouldn't go anywhere else.
When I moved back to town a couple months ago, I was excited Sue's was so close. But when I went in I couldn't believe their prices. Produce was triple the cost you would find anywhere else, some of the shelves were bare (3 loaves of bread!?) and everything was very hard to find.
I can't justify spending those prices for a market I don't even enjoy shopping in.
Always have had pleasure shopping at Sue's market. Love the meat for bbq and fresh produce. It's always great to be able to find specialized food and have owners that care about what they provide to their customers. Thank you for servicing our local community with top food. Appreciated.
Great place to shop - fresh, high quality, non-industrial approach to customers, first name basis service. Been going for years - also feels much safer during Covid than Big Box alternatives.
Awesome market with so much unique foods packed into one little space. Prices are higher than your average grocery store, but you pay for getting such a diverse collection under one roof.
Super friendly staff, always clean, and a great local market with very fresh food. Delicious made-on-sight sushi. Awesome deli, bakery, and meat counters. Beautiful flowers. The packaged goods are pricier but I shop here for the fresh items and packaged g/f items as well.
A nice selection of unique foods, but even I was put off by their ridiculous pricing. I have no problem paying top dollar for fresh and hard to find items. They lost me at $8.99 for a loaf of bread and $14.99 for blueberries - this showed me that at Sue’s, they would rather have the items rot than sell them for a fair price. Greco’s has the identical berries for $9.99, so if they are making a profit at that, here they simply gouge you which makes me not want to return.
Honestly a beautiful market. It's got high prices but great products that you don't find every day. If you are counting pennies, or even looking at price tags then I wouldn't do your daily shopping there but if you want to make a nice fancy dinner it seems like they have everything you need.
Artisan super market, you will be able to find the ingredients you see on the food network. Quality and unique items like duck fois gros, aged balsamic, bakery. Hot bar, hard to find ingredients for superfood salads
Very great selection of fruits and food and everything else, although more expensive of course. No complaints except for the fact that the owner comes across racist as she followed me around the store as I was grocery shopping for my mother. Interesting enough she was suspicious from when I walked in, most likely cause of my beard probably.
Otherwise great store, terrible service and horrible owners.
One of the best places to shop for organic food. Food ranges from your average vegetables and fruits to sushi and desserts. Small warning: this place is not cheap.
We shop at Sue's sometimes, however I noticed that the amount of plastic packaging for produce has increased. Single wrapped fruits and vegetables is counter productive to the organic market and creates more waste for consumers. Therefore we avoid any item that is wrapped in plastic at Sue's. I like the option to use brown paper bags for mushrooms, but would love to see more paper bags and less plastic wrapping, and plastic bags at the checkouts. We would love to see you take an approach to sell reusable bags and jars to promote sustainability and eliminate plastic options from your store altogether. Would love a response from your store about this.
Fantastic variety of yummy things you can't get anywhere else. Staff are very friendly and store is well kept. Unfortunately it is very expensive though.
Sue's Market is like going to Heaven without the dying part. It's a different world experience that is a must in your lifetime. Everything fresh. Everybody friendly. They're still in business for a reason and that reason is they care about what the customer wants, they care about quality, about customer service, about you enjoying the best experience the area has to offer. Walk, jog, run, bike, cartwheel, moonwalk, drive, take a bus, uber, whatever it takes and go there now you won't be disappointed.
One of the best places to shop for organic food. Food ranges from your average vegetables and fruits to sushi and desserts. Small warning: this place is not cheap. Even if you think you didn't take much, you still can end up with a bill over a hundred dollars. Some avocados cost 4$ per one l. However for the price, you get the highest quality food which is completely natural. Very good place if you are looking for organic food of high quality.
My fav green grocery for the past 30 years - the best meat (locally sourced for a large part) absolutely to die for bakery and their own brands and hot table are worthy of 5 star restaurants
The prices was a bit expensive for the vegatables, fruits, and Breads than the Nofirils. I did not see any halal-helal or Kosher meats or breads. The fishes were expensive than the TNT. But the places were loking clean and the employees were friendly.
A little gem in Richmond Hill! This store has been around for so many years and the quality has not changed once. Freshest fruit and a great variety, meat counter is incredible, baked goods make you feel guilty for wanting to buy them all! I especially love the Deli salads and prepared foods. There advertised as preservative free and you're guaranteed fresh and healthy ingredients. They don't buy it in bulk like other grocery stores and sell it, it is made fresh in store: try the quiches and their quinoa (so good) A great place to pick up tasty dishes and sides for dinner. Love this place for years.
