Sugar Marmalade (First Markham Place) 糖记甜品

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sugar Marmalade at First Markham Place, where I indulged in their delectable milk pudding dessert and mango ice cream. Both desserts were delicious!
The server was attentive and accommodating, which added to my overall enjoyable experience.

Would love to come back to try different items.

They used to be better. The durian sago was not as good as it used to be and the piece of durian they give was way too small for the price they’re charging. The mango pudding was also not as good. The only good thing was the black sesame soup that my mom ate.

We used to go there every time we went to Toronto (from Montreal), but now I’ll have to look into other places because of their drop in food quality.

The washroom was a bit dirty also.

Nice location. They are swamped, but their online ordering system makes things go efficiently. The desserts are unique and delicious. It’s an excellent place to hang out late at the night

Needed a little extra chocolate sauce for which the staff did hesitate to give. Over all a good experience.

Yesterday we went to have desserts after having dinner at a nearby restaurant. Kids ordered bubble teas and I ordered the rice pudding with coconut milk and fruits for which we pointed similar to the picture on their window. The rice pudding came with no fruit. We thought it was for someone else, the server said we ordered it with no fruit when we didn’t. We didn’t try to go further with it. Then the bubble teas came (the Oreo and Frostbite Taro milk tea in particular) I had asked it to be less sugar. I have a sweet tooth and enjoys desserts but when I tried it before serving them to my kids. I have never ever tried bubble tea that sweet in my life to be honest. It was really hard to enjoy. I asked to get the sugar lessened but apparently by the sound of it they don’t have that option. So I said please do something about it, dilute it with ice or water. It came still super sweet. For a dessert and bubble tea place I believe they should have option of lessening sugar per customer’s preference. Also felts under their chairs would help lessening the noise their chairs make.

Subpar mango shaved ice - they use artificial mango flavouring, no real mango fruit. Gave us chipped stone bowl. And the whole place smells like bleach.

Ordered takeaway, pork belly rice bowl with pork belly, pork belly covered with pig hair, it was so disgusting that I vomited. The pork smell is also very strong.

Good selection of deserts. It would help if they brought back the menus with the pictures - it's hard to choose using the phone browser. Service was efficient but definitely not courteous.

The so called "pudding" is frozen! Hard like stone, it's really my first time to try Stone style pudding. And there is no service at all! I asked the waitress, how come the pudding is frozen hard? She said, it is like this. I won't return for sure for this food quality and service. Can't take it as this is a so called dessert house.

Great fusion restaurant. I usually come here mainly for their Asian desserts. They usually get quite busy so make sure you come earlier for a spot.

Very good dessert! Super tasty and beautiful. But the service needs to improve. Still recommend.

About 6 months ago, the store took brown sugar ginger tea off their menu. But because we loved it, I called the store and asked if they could still make it. One of the servers said they could still make it as long as we order something with the same price and add a side note, so we’ve been doing that and we really appreciate it. Today we did the same thing, but when I arrived at the store, a guy with a cap and glasses told me “this is the last one and we won’t make it anymore”. I understand that the store might’ve been really busy today and my order may have taken a bit longer than expected, but it could’ve been said in a way that sounded a lot less rude.

Plus, I don’t know if whoever made my drink was upset that I ordered the brown sugar ginger tea again so they didn’t seal my drink on purpose, half of the tea was spilled in the bag. This is what it was like when I opened the bag. We have ordered from/visited this place countless times ever since I moved to Markham and it’s incredible that this is how we’re being treated as regular customers.

Clean and tidy hangout providing delicious fusion dessert and bubble tea options. Late operating hours are a real plus.

Finally found a great dessert place with satisfying portion sizes and many tasty dessert options! There’s good variety with the menu and toppings so you can create a different taste every time and not be stuck ordering the same thing if you usually stick to one menu item as I do. Will be back soon!

The mango shaved ice was surprisingly good and large enough for sharing. Will definitely come back
