SumiLicious Smoked Meat & Deli

The ~ $20 combo doesn't include any drinks. We ordered two combos but received only one. There was no prior notice about the restriction on outside drinks, yet they warned us when we began our dinner. The restaurant's decor appears budget-friendly, and their smoked meat doesn't compare favorably to Montreal smoked meat, despite their similar appearances and prices.

I'm a big Montreal smoked meat fan and this was the best one I've had in Toronto. Wasn't as good as the ones I've had in Montreal but, saved me a trip to Montreal and was a nice throwback. The service was very very quick which was great. Would love to go back for the smoked meat poutine

Experience with sumilicious was not bad, Had more expectations with the review mentioned online! I ordered the chicken sandwich, (No customization option) which looked very filling however when I got the order, it was not same as its shown over the counter, I had high expectations as I paid $14.40 for a chicken sandwich and got regular sandwich size.

The first shocking thing was that there is no drink that comes with the combo? !? ! Second was the 13 dollar sandwich was no bigger than a wallet and the bread was so dry which worsened the experience because there was no bevy. The fries are well seasoned and the grilled chicken was enjoyable. The poutine tastes like regular Burger King/ McDonalds poutine but just smoked meat on top. And dont get me wrong I love a good poutine but 13 dollars!? The coleslaw was in a small little plastic container that is smaller than a Popeyes biscuit. Also the bathroom was out of order which was kind of an uh oh. Closing statement: The whole experience was ruined because of the dryness that kept accumulating

For the price I think it should have included a drink. I would come back but to try something else, not a die hard smoked meat person.

This place serves a sensational sandwich, and the dill pickles are delicious. I have a friend thinks Sumilicious rivals Montreal's Schwartz' Deli. First class.

Got a large platter, enough for 2 sandwiches and when I got toward the bottom of the meat tray it was all gobs of disgusting fat. Was literally throwing up after the first sandwich. Do not go to this place on a Sunday when they are clearing out their old batches of meat with fat galore. They are closed Monday and Tuesday. Despicable they give this to customers who order take-out on Sunday. I was very sick.

Beware - food poisoned 2x from this store

I've been here many times and love the food - however I am suspecting they try to save their old batches of meat on the last day before their closing. First time was the last day before Christmas break, my dad and I both got food poisoning. I messaged Sumilicous who claimed it must've been something else we ate. However I bought some sandwiches again last Sunday, right before they close on Monday and Tuesday - same thing again and I am now confident it's this restaurant. It's never happened any other day we went so it is indeed a possibility they are conserving the meat instead of making a new batch. Just beware if you go on the last day before closing!

Wow. This was diLicious. I was in Montreal this summer and had their 2 best smoked meat resteraunts. And I must say Sumilicious is just as good.
I'll be back.

I was there earlier today. And that smoke meat sandwich is worth it, I'll try some more of your food when i get a chance.

I don’t usually go out of my way for smoked meat sandwiches in Toronto but SumiLicious has been on my list. We made the visit happened after a hike and it didn’t disappoint.

Shared a regular poutine and smoked meat sandwich (requested medium fatty pieces) between 2 people and it wasn’t a heavy meal, just enough to keep us through until dinner. The poutine had some Cajun seasoning and was loaded with cheese curds and gravy. The sandwich didn’t exceed expectations but it was just enough to satisfy our smoked meat cravings.

Dine-in available with proof of vaccination. Don’t forget a can of cherry cola to compliment the meal!

Nice smokes sandwich. Poutine is pretty bland as their gravy is vegetarian so I didn't really get much taste and won't eat poutine from here. Poutine I got was smoked meat one and still didn't get much taste.
Go for meat sandwich and you will be happy

Really good place for smoked meat, which is generously given and crazy tender. The only drawback is that the poutine was rather salty with the gravy.

A nice little place selling true Montreal style smoke meat (the smoke master had worked more than 10 years in Schwab in Montreal). Have been there several times. Always bought by pounds. The medium fat is heaven! Happy that I don't have to drive to Montreal just for that.

If you don't want to travel to Montreal for top notch smoked meat sandwiches this is the spot. Got a sandwich combo, a regular poutine, a smoked meat poutine and half pound of smoked meat. The four of us all had leftovers and it was a flavour experience no one should go without. This place is simply put amazing. Well worth the hour long drive from Bradford. Thanks so much.

Hadn't been in almost a year because of the distance but that's all my 80 year old husband wanted for his birthday. This place never fails to deliver - absolutely the best smoked meat anywhere; even better than Schwartz. If only they would open near the Danforth! My only complaint is the rye bread - wish they would use Harbord's but that's an easy fix at home.

One of the best smoked meat sandwiches I have tried in the GTA area even better than some in Montreal. Must tried. Wish they weren't so sloppy with the cutting, for a better experience. But it's messy and delicious

Came for the smoked meat and did not disappoint! Staff is very friendly and seems to know all the customers! Will be coming back again!

Have been a regular customer of there’s for a while now.love their smoked meat - always buy it by the pound - it’s so versatile - for sandwiches, with breakfast and even in a summer potato salad! The fact that it’s halal is an added bonus!

The smoked meat sandwich (fatty cuts) was delicious! Mustard cut right through the meat to keep things interesting as well. Coleslaw was great. The pickle wasn't sour enough for me personally. The fries were very dark and soggy.soggy fries might have been because I had to drive home with the takeout, but the fries were too dark. The gravy in the poutine was excellent - great depth of flavor. The cheese curds were squeaky too, very nice.

Overall I'll probably be back, but only for the sandwich.

Don’t let the picture fool you, it’s messy but tasted pretty damn good and I didn’t even have to drive to Montreal. The sandwich plus a vernors ginger soda was about 15bucks! And why oh why was there no pickle? Not even a slice on the side.

I think this has got be one of the best in the GTA especially Scarbirians who would have to drive way out to the west end to find anything even close to this. Owners are very nice and prices aren’t too bad considering the cost of brisket these days. The spices they use are spot on. I haven’t tried any other items, just the smoked meat sandwich so far. Take the drive and give it a try. You won’t be sorry. I’ve already spread the word and one of my friends is heading there tomorrow. Gave my sister a sample and she has to have a full one now! Only thing I would mention is the cut could be cleaner and thinner but I’m being really knit-picky because it really is so delicious!

The sandwich was a 5 star, but the fries were not. The coleslaw was top notch, as was the deli pickle. The restaurant is clean, and there is lots of parking. The staff were friendly and helpful. If only the fries were crispy, it would have been a 5 star.

The smoked meat was so good, without having to drive 6.5 hours to Montreal. The fries were crispy, cheese curds were gooey, and gravy was not overly salty! Definitely recommend this place!

The closest you will get to Schwartz Smoked Meat sandwiches without having to make the trip to Montreal. The quality and the taste of the meat is perfection. Don’t forget the pickle and cherry coke for the full experience. You will not be disappointed! It would be great to have another location is the city. The service was also great!

I really enjoyed the smoked meat poutine and the smoked meat sandwich. The meat is fall apart soft and just enough flavour - not too salty. The Cherry Cola pairs well with the food. I would return for these items alone.

No more will I have to go to Montreal for Smoked meat. This was absolutely delicious. If I had one critique it would be that the bread could have been slightly toasted or cold, as it was warm it was soggy. Not going to stop me though from having more. Really good, delicious fries crispy yet soft inside.

My girlfriend and I tried SumiLicious for the first time today and we were absolutely in love with the smoked meat sandwiches we got. Having been to Shwartz and other popular Delis in Montreal, I can honestly say we enjoyed this sandwich more. The meat was cooked to perfection, and just the right amount of mustard. Well worth the drive from where we live.

I went here for poutine cause of the reviews and I don't know what they must of been on when they ate from here but there was litterlly no cheese on the poutine and the one with the smoked meat was cut thick and soggy with lots of hard pieces I got in it but the fact the lady showed as a reference a full hand of cheese and they say Montreal style poutine and there was like more then half the poutine no cheese is redicilous

Finally had the chance to try out the Smoked Deli Sandwich! It does hit the spot when I'm craving some smoked deli like ones from Montreal. We got it to go and it is kind of oily and abit too much mustard for my liking! However, still hits the spot! I do want to try their smoked poutine!

The smoked meat sandwich was amazing! The meat itself was full of flavour and a bit on the saltier side, but it balanced well with the bread. I also tried the smoked meat poutine and it was scrumptious, I love the fact that the fries were seasoned! I will be back for more:)

I meet with friends this restaurant a lot! This is my favorite spot to to have a good dinner. I visit this spot frequently. The cooking is excellent, the team is friendly and the cost is affordable. I like eating in this restaurant over a tasty dinner.

Very authentic smoked meat sandwich. Best I have tried outside of Montreal. A little on the expensive side but piled high with smoked meat goodness. Recommend getting a pickle with it. The coleslaw was ok not great. Smoked meat poutine is also very good.

I’ve lived in Montreal for twelve years and this place serves smoked meat on par with the best in Montreal. I thought the rye bread could be improved though. I can only wish it was located closer to Toronto.

Can I just start with. OH MY GOD!? ! How did I not know this place existed for the last 2.5 years? Having just got back from Montreal this summer, the smoked meat sandwich was EXACTLY like Schwartz, maybe even better, and the regular poutine was reminiscent of Ma Poule Mouillee (if you aren't familiar with these establishments, please go - go now!) Incredible. I mean, the owner used to work at Schwartz - how can you go wrong with that! Will be back again very soon!

Exceptional! Having lived in Montreal for 5 years, with a partner from there, I can attest that the sandwiches we had today were the real deal.

Honestly significantly better than anywhere in Montreal with the exception of Lester's, which is a tie.

I was shocked by how good this was. Definitely worth the trip & more in the future.

Very disappointed. My husband and I had a craving for smoked meat sandwiches so drove nearly an hour since Sumilicious appeared to have good reviews. Sadly when we got there we found that the staff handling the food were not wearing masks appropriately so we turned around an left. Disappointed to see the violation of health protocols.

Great owners, really kind and nice BUT products have gone downhill since opening. Bread far too large relative to meat. Coleslaw very expensive for the tiny cup provided. Smoked meat often comes in very broken and small pieces (upwards of 50%) when ordering 1 or 2 lbs of take out. Almost like "ground" meat.
Too bad.

Owner responded (a good thing) : Hi Steven, we take pride of what we do and maintaining the quality is always on top. We do everything the same original way. The Brisket is processed by the same hands. The meat is very tender and if you don’t hold the sandwich the right way it could fall into pieces. Our sandwich is about half a pound and we serve always more. Our coleslaw is made fresh in-house and it’s $2.25 for a good generous portion that you can compare. Thank you for visiting SumiLicious!

My response: Hi, I do not doubt the pride you take in your efforts. I understand the meat is tender however, the "slices" provided in the sandwich but especially the take-out are inconsistent and there are too many "small pieces". The bread diameter is too large, you need another bread supplier that can make smaller diameter loaves. Having been a long time customer at Schwartz's - no sandwich instruction is required and as mentioned, when I purchase multiple lbs of product, I would like to see slices, not crumbs. As for the cabbage coleslaw, the potion I have received is small (in my opinion) and often full of liquid.
Again I would emphasize, nicest people, hard workers, fresh product but overall the experience for me and my other Montreal friends has gone down over time.

You know this guy worked at Schwartz before in Montreal, because the sandwich is the same, and it’s not a bad thing at all! To me, there was a little more mustard on it than there should’ve been, but the meat is amazing, it’s the same as Schwartz.

Having grown up in Montreal I’m familiar with many of the favourite smoked meat establishments there.well today I’d like to add another, although it’s some 360 miles south west LoL.

Montreal’s Shwartz’s has been around for decades and a significant tourist stop especially since Celine Dion’s husband Rene
invested in it several years before his death.

Well personally I think SumiLicious is even better than Shwartz’s. SumiLicious is extremely tasty, flavourful and MOIST!

What a delicious treat this was earlier tonight and what a treasure for the Toronto area.

Btw, their French fry’s were also very delicious!

I used to drive 5 hours from Toronto to Montreal just for the Schwartz’s smoked meat. I tried lots of smoked meat in Toronto, the SumiLicious is the best. The smoked meat is moisture, it is less salty and less fat as Montreal’s. The smoked meat poutine tastes better than the one in Quebec City famous poutine chain restaurants.
Definitely worth the money.
