My gas fireplace pilot light would not light, it was the busiest time for all HVAC contractors as people start their furnaces, online calendars had bookings over two weeks away, I called Summers & Smith and they got someone out to me the very next day. Five minutes into the visit, the pilot was on and it was warm
again. Thank you so much for squeezing me in so quickly. It was very appreciated.

Our job was a little more involved than most. The furnace was in a tight space and needed to be turned 180 degrees. The AC was 20’ away from the house with lines running under a deck. The install crew did a fabulous job and the sales guy was good too, I have no doubt service will be great down the road.

Overpriced service. Charged $180 for a broken 35/5 AC capacitor which usually cost about $20. And $150 for 15 min labor to replace it. And tax on top of that. What a joke!

I want to say that our sales rep Andrew & his crew, Andrew & Justin were amazing. They moved up our app't due to no heat in our house. They did the installation of our furnace & A/C all in one day. It was professionally done, clean & they explained everything to us. Andrew & Justin were amazing to work with and were very courteous. We liked that they are local and they DO NOT use subcontractors. We are extremely happy we decided to trust Summers & Smith & we highly endorse this company.

Used them for an annual service of our gas wood stove. First tech showed up without the equipment to work on gas wood stoves. Told us they would call and rebook, failed to call, we called, next Tech showed up 7 hours late. Said the side glass panels were cracked and needed to be replaced, and that it was leaking carbon monoxide into the house. Instructed them to aquire new glass. They couldn't get the glass. Used Mason Place, got the service completed, side glass was scratched by the cleaners S&S used, NO carbon monoxide leaks at all!

We contacted Summers and Smith on a Monday to repair multiple gas leaks that were found two days prior. Although fall is a busy time of year for this service we were advised they allow for emergency calls in their scheduling. A service technician was available on Wednesday and the work was completed that afternoon. The joints in the gas pipes that lead to our furnace from the meter were re-sealed to be sure all leaks were sealed and no new ones would develop. Two new gas ball valves were installed to replace our old and out dated ones. One for the furnace and one for the water heater. The service technicians were thorough, knowledgeable and respectful.

What stared out as a request to change the fans to provide constant ventilation has become an extortion attempt to sell our church two new furnaces. The system was originally installed by professionals to gas company standards and now suddenly it is a 'fire hazard'. Very mysterious. If we do have to get new furnaces it will NOT be from these unscrupulous people.

I have used Summers and Smith for over 10 years and they have always been incredible. From Sales, Installation, Maintenance, Warranty and the lovely ladies in the office, everyone is completely professional, knowledgeable, helpful and friendly.
Our most recent technician, David was out yesterday to replace a part on the air conditioning under warranty as well as perform our annual maintenance on both furnace and air conditioning. He was completely respectful, knowledgeable and thorough.
If anyone ever tries to tell you that the annual maintenance program is not worth it I would argue that vehemently when it comes to Summers and Smith. They are completely professional, never try to sell equipment or repairs that are not necessary and they ensure that everything continues to work incredibly well. But not only that, they make sure that if something doesn't seem up to their high standards it is repaired and always within our warranty period. Overall an amazing company with great products and the BEST staff!

We have used Summers and Smith for years. The service is always friendly, efficient and on time! Grant found a small issue this year and was very quick to identify the problem and fix it.
Worth having them come every year for piece of mind.

I was a no heat, waited a whole weekend with nothing soo I could meet with the sales guy and my stuff was old. Had a new furnace and ac installed on the Tuesday, now it's Saturday and I have NO HEAT! Again. Called the sales guy, didn't really care I felt, he got his sale. After hours guy, is just a call center, soo who knows when I'll get a call back.

Too top off everything which I was going to let go, the installation guys left a huge mess! All the drilling dust, metal stripping stuff, wood etc. DID NOT CLEAN A THING up after they were done. I know it was raining but I have mud everywhere! Thank god I had them use the garage door. But now I'm 8 months pregnant and cold left cleaning up the mess the made! Totally bent in how this played out.

We called the company for rooftop AC repair. The technician detected a rusty part and indeed valve need to be fixed. Instead of fixing the problem, and communicating the problem to us he felt free to report it to Enbridge. Without notice, Enbridge came, tagged and locked out heating. After our communicating with Enbridge, we learnt the reason, it was to our surprise. I called the Summer and Smith to come fix the problem and reinstate the service. It took them a week to complete the work. It all happened in winter months, with delays and a hefty bill. Very disappointed, and difinately will never use their services again, nor recommend them to anybody.

From my initial call to the installation of our new furnace Summers and Smith team were flawless. This was the first time using them and I must say the whole team was professional, courteous and flawless in the execution of replacing our 26 year old furnace. I will definitely be continuing to them and recommending them any chance I get.
To the staff at Summers and Smith keep up the great work!

Contacted Summers and Smith a few weeks back to have a technician come out and repair my rooftop furnace. The guy came and after supposedly diagnosed my furnace, told me to replace the board. After doing so he told me that the motor needed replacing as well. When asked if replacing those parts will fix the problem, he told me he wasn't sure. While on the phone with Summers and Smith to order the motor I asked the same question as I asked the technician they sent. They told me that these parts needed to be replaced before they can see if anything else is wrong with it or not.

Moreover, the technician from Summers and Smith told me that the motor was not functioning, the motor needs gas to run, yet he never turned on the gas. I got a second opinion elsewhere and the problem was fixed without having to replace any parts.

In short, Summers and Smith are a money grab business and do not operate honestly. I suggest you go somewhere else.

Summers and Smith has been servicing my HVAC for years - I'm a very loyal customer. Technician came out to check why my fireplace wasn't working and changed the batteries in my fireplace remote - he was at my home for 15 min. Was charged $145 for the service call (including tax). Unbelievable. I could have been walked through the process on the phone if someone had taken the time to understand what the issue was. I DO know how to change batteries! Very tempted to go elsewhere for maintenance from now on.

Summers & Smith were at my home this week to perform maintenance on my furnace and end of season check on my home A/C. Tech was thorough and knowledgable answered all of my questions and took pride in his work. Very helpful and did a great job.

Water heater broke during a heat advisory/everyone-needs-to-have-an-air-conditioner-right-now. I called 9 different plumbers/places, and no one returned the call. I called S & S to asked for a recommendation. I did not know they also did water heaters, or I would have called them first! They had someone out within 3 hours to check to see if the water heater could be repaired. It could not, so right on the spot, Sam called into the office to schedule an installation appointment and then contacted the sales department with the details. Kevin in sales took the details, gave us the pros and cons of going to on-demand hot water, prices, etc, and then got back us 2 hours later to follow up, placed the order and got us set us up confirmed with a time and day.
The office staff, always so friendly and efficient, managed to wiggle us a space to get the install done. This was a feat of no small proportion given that anywhere installing a/c is fully booked at this time, leaving no room for water heaters installations. Installers arrive promptly at appointed day and time, laid out protective rugs on floors and stairs, and did a clean and quick install. Total cost (given above) was under-estimate given the efficiency of the installers. BTW, they were very polite and friendly, left my clean furnace room and floors immaculate, took time after calling in the job complete to explain the difference in care and maintenance of the new heater. There was no inappropriate language when they struggled to get the old water heater up the stairs (they took away for disposal, included in cost). Just patiently worked their way up the stairs. Even though we drained the water heater annually as per instructions, and had left it to drain (and left a few hot taps open to help) until we to empty it, the drain plug had become clogged, leaving it half full with a drain this time could not be unclogged.
We have used Summers and Smith for at 20 years to maintain our furnace (and replace) and always been very happy with them. Calls are answered promptly with friendly voices, and messages are returned quickly (even on the coldest nights at 3 a.m. When furnace stopped working, which they came out at no charge to fix). We like that their staff are paid hourly, and they do not contract out. The emphasis is on getting the job done efficiently but correctly, rather than just as fast as they can get out of there. The price is a little more, but we are paying for reliable, warrantied service. We have been called when there is a recall, a problem has been noted that might come up under warranty, or during the annual clean he technicians have caught problems and set them right before they become a major expense. We only pay for the yearly maintenance check. We highly recommend Summers and Smith!

Our Home AC broke down during one of the hottest days of the year. I called Summers and Smith and they had a service tech at our home in Bradford within 24 hours. The problem was diagnosed as being a fan motor and was repaired in a matter of hours. I want to thank David the service tech and thank Summers and Smith for the quick response.

Fantastic service!

Yikes! Our air conditioner stopped working a couple of days ago. Of course the timing was the worst right in the middle of a summer heat wave. The busiest time of the year to require service for air conditioning.

We called Summers and Smith right away since they replaced our furnace a couple of years ago and we were very happy with them then.

Called in the morning and Mike was there in the afternoon going over our options. We decided to go with a new air conditioner since the old one did it’s job for 24 years. We did appreciate that Mike did not pressure us on the “yearly service agreement” even though we did go with it for the furnace.

We super appreciate that Mike arranged for Sam to visit the same day and get our old air conditioner up and running so we would have air conditioning while we wait in the very reasonable 2 week queue to get the new air conditioner installed.

So special thanks for the great service as I am writing this in an air conditioned house while it is “feels like 36c” our there today.

Great sales & service support. Had to replace my furnace suddenly, and called at Summers & Smith at 5pm on a Monday. Pavle visited and provided a quote by 8: 30 the following morning, and had the new unit installed by the next day, ahead of a major coldspell! Thanks, Andrew! The Daikin unit has a much smaller footprint than our previous unit, higher efficiency output, and is super quiet. I'd highly recommend Summers & Smith to anyone.

We had the Daikin split system multi-unit installed to our home.
I was impressed with the care for the home, as well as the pride they take in their job. All rooms were clean after installation, they actually replaced a dented outdoor unit out of the box, and came back with a brand new one. So far I have had zero issues, they are done an excellent job, I recommend.
