The service was amazing Daren was very kind, we came back yesterday there was boats fishing, the only bad thing is you have to bring your own blanket and pillow, after all amazing!

I would recommend this place to anyone. We had a wonderful time. Clean rustic cottage, a super clean fish cleaning station, and the fishing was fantastic.
The host, Darren, is excellent, accommodating, and cleans the boats first thing in the morning and make sure they are ready.
Boats come with a small fishfinder, and you can opt for trolling motors.
Close to a grocery store in case u need something. Boats are good, 16ft with 25hp motors, which gave us a max speed of 22 kph.
For walleyes fishing, bottom bouncer with a worm worked best for us.

There is a small shop in the reaort where u can get icecream, juice and worms

There is a private beach and many places for camp fire and relaxing. Playground for kids as well

Did not visit but engaged in converstion with the owner. I found him very helpful and pleasant. He takes the overall operation of the business very seriously and cares immesnsly on the everyday functions. I would never hesitate to to stay at Sunbeam cabins and apartments. Sometimes if you pay close attention to conversation, the attitude knowlege will give you the real insite for what you are seeking. So no need to be hesitant about this establishment, go ahead, no doubt in my mind you will be thouruoghly satisfied.

My husband Jeff and his family/group have been coming here for years, but now I know why they don't want to go anywhere else! The service and amenities are second to none! Him and I came up for a few days and I was amazed at what this place has! Great place for fishing or just relaxing!

Amazing cozy family owned resort, boat rentals and amazing fishing in lake Nipissing. Boat slip rentals where you can watch the beautiful sunset over callander bay the scenery never gets old. Sarah and Darren keep this place spotless, they are on site all day everyday ready to help to make sure you have everything you need and your as comfortable as you can be. The grounds on sunbeam are the cleanest resort I have ever seen, even the beaches are raked hourly it seems.

The place is great for fishing, sunsets, calmness the beach is beautiful with lots of room and sets. The docks are all done with a BBQ and a fire place on beach fire pit as well
Only down part is crossing the road to get to the beach and dock area.

Great spot for family's and an even better fishing resort. The owner and his family are awesome and very welcoming.

Everything was great, what a nice place the staff were accommodating and the resort is one of the best kept I've been to.the bungalows were clean, neat, tidy.private deck with steel fire pit for each plus there looked to also have a large communal pit for a larger gathering the property is great they take a great deal of pride in keeping things nice and it shows right down to the potted flowers on your personal picnic table
oh yea television with a pretty decent cable package and for all those who like/need to stay connected they provide WiFi

I rent fishing boats frequently from Sunbeam. They're great boats and are always immaculate! Most importantly, the fishing is great!

Just got back from a week long fishing trip here and I was super impressed. Darren and staff kept the grounds super clean on a daily basis.

In addition to that we rented a couple fishing boats and Darren was out multiple times a day to make sure these boats stayed good for us. He would vacuum and clean them in the morning and put the trolling battery on the charger every night for us.

Darren was super helpful from booking all the way through us leaving. If you made it this far, you won’t regret booking here.

Extremely clean cottages and grounds. Owner Darren is always around and ensures grounds are maintained. Very friendly and helpful. Beach and marina are outstanding with lots of beach chairs and loungers. Many different areas to sit with fire bowls and chairs. Will definitely visit again and recommend for families and larger groups.

A real gem on Lake Nipissing. The beach is beautiful and clean. The docks are great with many fine places to sit. The view is unforgettable.we loved it

We went with our family beginning of August. The experience was great. Darren and his family keep the cottages very clean. They also organized a BBQ, big firecamp. Darren is one of the most hardworking people I've seen and makes sure everything is on point, the beach, the cottages, the gazebos, the boats etc. Fishing was a bit slow since it was peak of summer but we did have our fair share catch and cook. Highly recommended.

The Sunbeam Cottages should be your first call if you want a beautiful, well managed resort on stunning Callander Bay, Lake Nipissing. Darren was able to provide us a boat for the day so we could have some fun family time together. He confirmed our boating license and other details before providing a detailed and explanation of the safety features of the boat and safe operation. The rates are reasonable, but the real gem was learning that anlimites number of day rates are available at their private beach for their paddle-boat, canoe, paddle-board, and water trampoline. Spend time on their stunning high-water pier and cabana and take in live music to make this an unforgettable fun-filled family experience.

Just got back today this was my 2 year at sunbeam and I could not ask for better owners like Darren and Sarah absalutly amazingggggg people great family they work very hard always always on top of everything such wonderful cottages amazing beach amazing people absolutely worth the week always sad to leave. This is a gem of a place that I actually secretly do not want everybody to know about!
However, I cannot be so selfish.

We did not fish but most people who go to Sunbeam Bungalows do love to fish! Their deck / boat parking area (I do not know what that is called) was newly finished last year I think. They have communal bbqs and fire pits around the deck and private beach area for people to enjoy themselves. We got to make our s'mores over the water privately with the fire pits. Everybody was really friendly and they seemed so happy to be able to fish. We watched a lot of people with coolers (I assume they were for the caught fish).

First off, we loved our petit, little cozy cabin. Each cabin is equipped with a kitchen with all you need (which is perfect to eat healthy, or be safe from covid germs of others), your personal barbeque, your own personal fire pit for your Smores and Jiffy Pop needs! We had a sitting area outside and inside too.

Amenities - I think this place is good for families as they had stuff for everybody!
Surprisingly shuffleboard is da bomb! We also played ping pong and badminton. We forgot to play the horseshoes. On the beach, we were able to try various water sports. As it was not peak season, we could use the water equipment (e.g, paddle board, canoes, kayaks, pedal boat, foamy rectangle) all the time and just puttering around the lake was great.

My comments on Callander in general - It is close enough to North Bay (less than15 minutes away) where you can explore the town quite easily.

North Bay - check out their Saturday's Farmer's market (Please try the best Fry Pies ever don't know the vendor's name, also I got some really yummy stuff from Marlene's bakery, plus the Mexican guacamole goes bad really quickly which I actually appreciated (It is fresh and is the REAL deal!). Downtown, Dionne House: (, Beach w/ Innushuks everywhere and very dedicated fisherpeople who respected rules (e.g, put back fish if it is not the proper season for a particular type of fish), 4 wheeled bike rentals while ice cream eating, kitschy mini golf, I wished we brought our bikes to North Bay because I saw lots of cyclists and trails everywhere.

Thanks to Darren and their staff! We loved it at Sunbeam!

Darren was awesome, so respectful, great customer service. Helps you as much as possible. Boats work perfect and are very very nice, very good prices. Would recommend them 100%.

I've never seen people (Darren and family) keep a place so clean! They're always doing rounds, making sure everything is tip top. Very impressed

Amazing place to bring your family on a fishing trip. The cottages and the boats are in amazing condition. Area is always clean. But the thing that makes Sunbeam stand out is the unparalleled customer service provided by the owners and their family. They work nonstop to ensure your experience is the best it could be. These are some of the friendliest people you could meet. Been here twice. I'll be back again.

This has been a go-to for my family for 50 years. While we haven't stayed here for a while, we have always gotten our boats here. The rates are reasonable and Darren is very helpful and personable. He has been able to upgrade dock facilities and give the place a good-time feel while maintaining its rustic charm.

My family made great memories here. They thought of everything you and your family could possibly need to have a great vacation and it's here. We loved playing on the beach and going out on the pedal boat. The sunsets on the dock are best I have seen. There were plenty of kids for my kids to play with at the park conveniently located right behind our cottage. We can't wait to book again!

Amazing resort with all the cottage boxes ticked! Darren was awesome and quick with anything we asked for.

Cottage was homey and clean. Had all we needed. Grounds were immaculately kept and owner was off the charts amazing with any questions or requests we had. Water and all the water activities was the BEST part. There were 7 of us who stayed and we all agreed. Bbq and firepits on the beach also were a huge plus. We qill definitely be back next year. So glad we found this hidden gem.

We had a wonderful stay. The owners were very hospitable, cabins and boats were well maintained and lots of activities for kids. Fishing was just okay, but to be expected late in the summer. Be careful out on the lake as unmarked submerged rocks are common on Nipissing.

Everything is excellent. Two small things, needs good boating skills to get in and go out of the dock, needs to go passing a road to the beach.

Sarah and Darren are awesome hosts, they are always making sure you are comfortable and well looked after from providing comfortable cottages and boats to providing a BBQ, treasure hunt for the kids and to top it off they have a beach bonfire with s'mores and live music, highly recommend.

We rented a 16' boat for a day and it was a great boat with all the safety equipment that you will need. The owner Darren was amazing! He even texted me that there will be a thunderstorm this afternoon and remind me to watch out. Very sweet and helpful! 100% recommended

Darren and Sarah are truly amazing people! It’s hard to come across people that are so passionate about their business and take such pride in their resort and amenities.
I call this place a resort because that’s truly what it is! We stayed for 3 nights over Canada day. The first day, Darren and Sarah hosted a BBQ for all their guests (of course respecting social distancing rules) they made a great BBQ with hot dogs, burgers, all the toppings, chips, salads and watermelon! They had music playing, and it was a very lovely time! The next morning, they hosted a treasure hunt for the kids. I saw Sarah up before 7am getting everything ready for the kids fun day, and I could see the joy and excitement on the kids face during the treasure hunt. On Wednesday, which was Canada day, they had a live band on the beach with a bonfire and a spectacular fireworks display off the docks over the water, honestly better fireworks than at Niagara Falls! The cottages come with a rental boat, which Darren goes out every morning and cleans the boats. The boats are extremely well maintained, and there is a brand new beautiful dock with chairs to tan on as well as bbqs and picnic tables to use at your convenience.
I am extremely impressed with this place and will definitely be back time and time again. Thank you guys sooo much!

The place is beautiful, the customer service is amazing and you can practice various water activities, also included a boat. I recommend this place.

I used the Sunbeam Bungalows to shoot a large chunk of my first feature film in March. The locations were fantastic for a rustic/cottage feel, and the access to the lakefront was wonderful! Darren was a wonderful host, who was very accommodating, flexible, and bent over backwards for us. An excellent location for an outdoor/rustic film shoot or a getaway. Thank you Darren!

Nice little place to get away from it all. Some lodges could do with a little fresh paint but still a great spot to visit nature and get out more. Lodges are for sleeping and storing a few things definitely not a home.

Stayed at Sunbeam Bungalows for an ice fishing trip with our boys. The cottage was very clean and had all of the niceties and extras that we would want. The owner was very accommodating and went out of his way to make sure that we were comfortable and had what we needed in short order. I've stayed at many cottages in the Nipissing area and elsewhere, and believe that our treatment at Sunbeam was the best that I've had. Would definitely stay there again.

Recently stayed in a winterized cottage at this centrally located gem of a place. The owner went out of his way to make this stay-cation totally amazing! Firewood, heated cabin, great appliances, sunset over Callander Bay, just incredible service! Thanks again Tim
