SUNRIPE Freshmarket in Hyde Park

For the second year in a row, I've had the butcher prepare a prime rib roast for our family gathering. The butcher is phenomenal! His knowledge and willingness to accommodate are exceptional. He's so friendly and clearly loves his job.
Our roast was perfection, and we will definitely continue to shop at Sunripe for many years to come!

My children love the scavenger hunt while we shop, and the quality of products never disappoints.

Some of your employees don’t even wash their hands before touching or making food. Do any of your staff have safe food handling certification or even worked with food or in a kitchen before? I refuse to eat anything here until things change.

Great spot for snacks and treats not otherwise found in your local grocery store. On the expensive side as it is a boutique grocery store. Excellent selection of local products.

The produce here is worth every single dollar. You pay a slight premium over the “regular” grocery stores, but it lasts 3x as long. That right there makes the trip to Sunripe worth it.

Their baked goods are also so delicious - I’ve started ordering custom cupcakes from here and have been happy every single time. The chocolate is divine.

But let’s talk about the fine details.

The staff at this location are second to none. No, really. Shopping here can feel like you’re “coming home”. The staff recognize their customers. They ask about your kids, or how things are going. They’re legitimately happy to be there, and it shines through.

This location specifically is my very favourite, and I recommend it highly.

You can get fresh fruit and vegetables here. They have homemade dips, salads, quiche and many delicious sweet treats! They are more expensive than a regular grocery store

As in farm boy they do not have milk and glass bottles available at the time I was there. I'm not sure if that is a product they carry normally. I definitely will return. They do make an effort to have a lot of product in glass but can do a lot better to eliminate more plastic packaging and switch to glass packaging.

Great store to pop into now and again for goodies. They gave such a huge variety of items from fresh fruit, deli, meals, sweets etc. A bit pricy for my regular go to but anytime we go everything is fresh and delicious. Atmosphere is great, the store is so neat and tidy. Kids can find the giant strawberry for a prize. The BOGO sales are usually a good deal as well.

I love coming here and also the one in Sarnia. The produce is outstanding, the store clean and appealing, service always great!

Great store, fruits & produce are the best. Actually everything in this store is "Top Shelf" like they say.you get what you pay for.check it out.it has all the goodies.

I love Sunripe! Thoughtful layout and beautiful produce displays, and can’t go wrong when you happen upon a bogo sale on different meat selections.

The produce is so fresh one can almost hear the roosters crowing! Prices are higher than at large discount stores but the produce is without exception delicious.

Beautiful store filled with well prepared fresh and frozen meals and meats and the best fresh produce and organic selections by far. Love shopping here.

Why is there animal saliva in the bread? I have a love/hate relationship with Sunripe. As far as freshness and store cleanliness go, they’re A+… But for the life of me, I can’t figure out why they use so many terrible animal byproducts in their bakery items. No one else sees the need to add animal saliva and/or pancreatic enzymes to bagels and pastries, so I find that I have to go elsewhere for my baked goods even though Sunripe has the most perfect-looking products. I mean, come on. SALIVA? Really? It’s so unnecessary! I wouldn’t mind the higher-end prices if I knew I was getting quality products, as I do when I shop at Whole Foods—but I can’t justify all the horrible filler. If you don’t mind it, then they’re absolutely a five star establishment! The staff is friendly and the store itself is beautiful, so I can’t fault them on anything else. Great selection of things to grab and go and an ideal one-stop shop for a few necessities. But I can’t escape the feeling that they WOULD be a perfect place to shop if I knew they weren’t using such terrible additives which serve no purpose in the recipe for those bakery items. I look forward to the day when they do away with that garbage. Otherwise… wonderful place.

SUNRIPE is a premium supermarket that is a little smaller and focuses on fresh produce. Due to the area, the aisles are smaller. They do have a small cooked food section that is mostly focused on western cuisine. The fruits and vegetables are very fresh albeit pricey. Customer service is great! Overall a good place to get quality produce.

The store has perhaps the best looking produce I've ever seen. There is a wide variety of food and the cheese selection and pre-made salsa, guacamole, and other dips are excellent. They also have an inhouse butcher that is very accommodating and sells high quality meat. My favorite thing about this store however is actually the fresh squeezed juice - you can't beat it.

Great little local grocer. Had everything we were looking for to make a delicious pickerel dinner tonight:)

If you want fresh produce this is the place to be. Don't go there hungry. They have lots of great products

Produce is always super fresh. Premade meals are so convenient and very tasty. Love the pizzas.

Good selection but insane pricing. Not to mention staff members are clearly there to ignore customers. How am I supposed to know where apricots are? Being told vaguely “over there” with a shrug behind doesn’t answer my question at all.

They used to sell 100% pomegranate juice NOT from concentrate in their own brand bottles. Now they fill same bottles with from concentrate type. I got deceived!

Pricey, but you get what you paid for. Quality of fruits and vegies here are great.

I go to this local market to pick up some sandwich hams for my kids' lunch boxes. I was lucky to get their in-store made roast beef and oven-cooked turkey, which do not contain nitrate and preservatives. Also told that their meat comes locally. I believe their products are relatively healthy compared to other lines of products.

Wish I was wealthier. Tremendous choice but you pay for it. Fresh and lovely produce. I bring the amount of money I can afford and buy a taste of whatever I choose. I dream of being wealthy enough to use this place as my regular grocery store.

Not cheap but great fresh foods in a clean efficient environment. I find the higher prices balance out with the quality you get. Best fresh vegetables, fruits and meats around. Watch for their BOGO items.

SUNRIPE is a great fresh market with many fresh fruits and vegetables. They appear to take pride in having unique accidental handmade items for their customers. I had accidentally purchased an item that was expired that day. Upon noticing, they offered to switch the item, and ultimately returned it when there was no alternative. The return policy sits on a value of guaranteed freshness in that had I not picked up an item that was nearly expired, I would not have returned the item because I had already left the store.
I would have given full stars if it had not been for the manner of which this value had been delivered. Regardless, it is good to know that their products hinge on such a solid value.

I bought a fresh juice of caratt and orang mixed today when I got home and I taste it. It was perished and very bad in taste.

Stopped in for lunch. We have bought our lunch here previously and it was quite good. Not so this time. The sandwich was tasteless and the chicken penne alfredo was dry, not near enough sauce. It was disappointing. Also they do not offer you a place to sit and eat. The spaces to sit were still there but told we could not use them. Will not be going back.

I am so impressed. The staff were amazing. I asked a young man about a gluten free product and he went above and beyond what he needed to tell me but wanted to ensure I understood which I really appreciated. The lady who rang us out overheard me tell one if my sons about a nut allergy his brother had and therefore anything g with a nut he had to carefully eat away from his brother and she wrapped the nut product in a separate bag away from everything else even though it was already in a sealed package. I was very impressed with the service we received this evening. And as always the food looked great and the store was very visually appealing and clean

Didn't have what I was looking for (egg nog) and as I wandered around the store not one employee asked if I needed help finding anything. I had to ask one of 6 or so employees I passed for help The answer from the employee was "I don't see any". No checking for more stock to put out and no checking if more was going to be delivered. The original store at Adelaide and Oxford is much better for customer service.

Great quality food, and always fresh. The only place I buy my meat and produce. It can be pricey, but you get what you pay for. Buy one get one free, I usually stock up on meat. I never have to toss any produce out, so no waste. Other grocery stores may be cheaper, but I always throw out half my produce.
