SunRise Caribbean Restaurant

Restaurant was not clean, there were dirty footprints all over the floor. I was served undercooked food and had to come back.

I also noticed they had a “conditional” health inspection pass prior to November 9,2023.

Well I went in tonight and I wanted to order the jerk chicken. But the piece is look like they've been sitting there since morning. Lol. Mine do at 7: 30 p.m. At the time of this review. They also were the size of either baby chickens or maybe mice they found in the back. I decided to go with the fried chicken which ended up being uncooked bloody mess. I think the health board might have to be called on this place. The sign said 9: 07 for the meal. When I asked the girl why I'm being charged 9.97 Show me the signs are wrong. Lol. This place is a joke.

I can honestly say because of this experience and one other at a location on Queen and McLaughlin I'm never going back to another sunrise ever and I don't suggest anyone else to go. Not only do they not care about their business I guarantee they won't even answer this review.

The worst service ever.multiple visits, can't say i didn't try, they just don't care.

Went there tonight while it was raining outside. I asked the guy to give me jerk chicken meal. He told me there is no coleslaw and he don’t want to make it otherwise it will get wasted. I asked him for alternative i.e steam veg which he also refuse to give. Clearly showed his denial for service.
This place should be reported to the police and close down. Most pathetic and poor service ever seen.

Gotta up the quality here (it was just bad). The chicken today was redish from the inside as if it was duck meat and the beef patty was old. The water wasn't even in the fridge, got room temperature water lol waited for a long time just to eat that.

Huge disappointment. I shouldn't be surprised though, when I walked through the door there was broken tile pieces over the threshold. I noticed the menu board was off. I waited for the one person in front of me. Went to the washroom, there was no lighting. The men's washroom had a sign saying please use the other washroom, I walked in the toilet paper holder was open and empty. There was no soap and the paper towel was on the floor. The food was wasn't even tasteless, it tasted bad, not like fried chicken at all. I wouldn't even finished the meal, I'm certain I will be sick.
Would give a 0 if it were an option.

Just left this location and what a mess! Omg! Chef don't know what he's doing! Ordered fry dumpling and ackee and saltfish. Had to.ake two trips for one simple.order. He gave me burnt dumplins! Soo much oil in the ackee and saltfish! The place is nasty! This place needs to close down. The washroom was sooo NASTY! THE CHEF WAS DIRTY! NOOO! This needs to stop - YOU A ARE. TAKING PEOPLE'S MONEY- DO BETTER!

I think Indians own this location now. I went there recently and a fully Indian guy served us. We were so confused. Different food

It's quite obvious that ownership of these places have changed. They went from a thriving place you'd wanna sit and eat, to a dive! The front line worker was very unfriendly and couldn't answer much of anything. The food looked like it was prepared by someone who has no idea of what Caribbean food should look like when prepared and presented on a plate. I can't rate the food because I wouldn't have the nerve to insult my stomach with what I saw there. To the owner of the franchise brand. If selling a name is all you want, then your name brand is quickly becoming known for disgusting service, food and surroundings. To my people who love great customers service, delicious food in a clean and encouraging atmosphere! Find somewhere else to eat! Do not spend your hard earned money at Sunrise. You deserve better

The food is decent…but it doesn’t make up for the list of disappointments above!

Food was pretty good. Jerk Chicken and the rice and beans were great. Coleslaw was ok.
The workers could be a bit more pleasant.
The place isn't somewhere you'd want to eat at, the place looks rundown and not well maintained.

Decided to try the fried fish and festival. I rarely do takeout. The fish was without flavor and soooooo dry, dry to the point it has no fish taste. Festival was no better, it's like you're chewing to rubber. Festival looks very dark next to burn; however I said looks are deceiving. But not this festival, it very hard. Tried calling the number listed, because the food was not eatible but it was just a voicemail saying the customer is not accepting call at the moment. Now I discovered another place where not to spend money. If I could give zero star I would.

The food is tasty. Weekend breakfast is great. As far as the standard of this location compared to others.it is definitely one of the better ones. Clean and friendly staff. There was one individual who was a horrible service person but she seems to no longer work there so good. Actually avoided visiting when she was there. Worse service ever but everyone is great and the food is good. Recommend.

The food is was cold, and small portion for a large plate, also the taste wasn’t good; long time ago used to be better, but now not recommended at all.

Food is was pretty good but the customer service is TERRIBLE. If you expect good service dont come here. The cashier has no people skills. I dont even know why I let them keep my extra change lmao. Will probably not come back.

Food was decent, but the portion size you get for what you pay is a rip off compared to everywhere else.

I order plain and rice and they gave me rice and peas, I also said no coleslaw again they made an mistake on order. This isn’t the first time. I also called the place to make sure they didn’t mess up. Complete fail.

This location is the best! I've been to others, they're not the same. The customer service is always great and the food is amazing and consistent. I love it there, I don't live close by but its a drive I'm willing to do for great quality food. Keep up the great work guys!

We got some Carribean good from sunshine in the city centre. The lady at the cash was a gem. She was so friendly. The food and portion was great. We had curry chicken, beans and rice and patties.

From the first moment you come to this restaurant the personel give you an enjoyable feeling. Very comfortable stuff, it is a happy restaurant to to go out with your friends or with your date.heavenly cooking, qualified chief cook and stuff, competitive price and excellent service. Warmly recommended.

Foods always alright here. I wish the customer service was better. Rude lady kept rolling her eyes and seemed very annoyed at me when I walked in the door as if I murdered her dog.

I celebrated my graduation yesterday in this delicious restaurant.happy to tell that it was a cool evening and the venue was absolutely the reason for the fruitful event. The crew collaborated in a graceful way, the cooking was delicious and my buddies were so pleased. We shall definitely return for more joyful events. Thank you very much.

Food was 1 star at best (stew chicken w/rice & peas). Rice was bland and chicken was too sweet as in sugar. Service was poor. The woman who took my order was mannerless, would not look at me. Continued chatting with her peers as if I was seemed annnoyed by my questions. Very unfriendly but seemed it was only towards me. Theycould use a revamp on customer etiquette

Awesome and tasty food, I like the mood this spot has, and the workers were kind. Will surely come back.

Over priced. I usually order this online and something is always missing. Usually the coleslaw (my personal favourite). The roti is a huge disappointment. Very small overpriced and lacks authentic flavour. Jerk chicken is okay but a bit slimey in my opinion. There are much better places same price that don’t forget your order

Avoid this place like the plague. Worst customer service. The breakfast menu missing the basics. Head office needs to investigate this location. This location will destroy Sunrise business.

Can't believe the size of that $9 food i couldn't even get my fork in to eat the food, that's how small the container was, please replace these plastic containers, these are for salads not for achicken rice and vege meal, my food kept falling out, it's too pricey for the portion as well.

This location is fairly slow and the workers don’t look like they have any life in them by moving at the pace of zombies. The only person who looked like they had life in them was a young man who quickly came out of the back to put more food in the front warmers. I’m giving this location two stars because I waited about 10+ minutes for 2 dumplings but the lady was kind enough to give me a few extra. The food was okay but it was a very small portion and very overpriced. For a curry goat combo, jerk chicken combo and 2 dumplings, the total came to about 34 dollars.mind you, I payed for “Aquafina” water (on the receipt) but got Kirkland (Costco Brand) water. I won’t be coming back to this location unless there is nothing else open. I Definitely recommend “Daddy’s Jerk” on Steele’s & MgLaughlin over any other Caribbean Restaurant (across Sheridan College).

Love it soooo much. The fried chicken and the brown rice with Gravy is so good. I could eat the same thing every day and not get tired of it all. Keep it up.

If you have a listed hours of operation you should be open at your hours of operation. This is not the first time I have came to this location and it was not open at the time listed.

These people have way too much attitude, but the food tastes okay. Another thing is that they changed their portions and pricing, they skimp out on how much food they put into the containers. I won’t be returning though because these people are too rude, don’t want to give them my money.

Honestly one of the worst jerk chicken I have ever had. Not good! And way over priced. Staff is rude and unwelcoming! Fix your attitude, you're dealing with PAYING customers, trust me there's a lot of Caribbean restaurants out there that's soooooo much better

The food was not good at this location. Huge drop in quality at their restaurants over the years.

I like going to this location the most. The foods good and the manager I usually see on fridays is always pleasant.
