Sunrise INN - Parry Sound

Cheap prices rooms are a bit small.good price.descent place for a night.was on the lower floor and was a little noisy from what sound like chairs being moved. I would stay again.

The motel’s rooms were very clean, the staff was attentive, kind and professional. The location is great, so close to everything you need, and the prices were amazing. Definitely highly recommended.

Our second time staying at the Sunrise, we were in Parry Sound to cycle through Killbear Provincial Park in the wonderful Fall foliage. The Sunrise motel was perfect for our needs: nothing fancy, but everything we needed. It is EXTREMELY CLEAN (my first priority always), comfortable, SAFE, and the owner/staff was so friendly and nice. Unlike many small motels, there was nothing 'sketchy' about the Sunrise, and the clientele both times was lovely- no rough crowd or weirdos hanging about! Great value for the money, and a wonderful base of operations for a day at Killbear Park!

Good location close to downtown, renovated older motel that worked fine for us for our 1 night overnight stay in Parry Sound.

I book rooms directly and it's cheaper.
All rooms are clean and nice. Breakfast area just little small but still ok with the nice coffee machine which has a lot of choices.

Just echoing what all the others have said. Superb value for money. Friendly staff, the room was comfortable and spotless. I would 100% recommend this motel

Just spent a few nights at the Sunrise Inn. Honestly, I had a great experience! The front desk was friendly, attentive, and legitimately helpful. I had called the front desk at 7am for something, and they promptly helped me despite the time of day. Also, the room was spacious, clean, and had nice gadgets; like a good heater and dim-able lighting. When I visit Parry Sound again, Im heading right back to the Sunrise Inn:)

Had a great week long stay at Sunrise. Room was very clean, clerk was attentive and the water pressure in the shower was amazing! Would definitely stay again.

It was 1AM and I was driving through a snowstorm, got tired & decided to stop here for the night. The room was warm and offered lovely views of snowed-in Parry Sound in the morning. The one person running the place was very friendly to me.

Stayed in August 2022. The room appeared clean until we noticed the toilet leaking. Someone came up and put a towel on the floor. That's how they fix things here. I guess. The bed might have been the most uncomfortable I have ever slept in and the window Air conditioner is pointed directly at the bed and is very loud. I don't understand how this place has good ratings.

When I am visiting Parry Sound, I love to stay at the Sunrise Inn. It is affordable and right in the heart of the town so that you have only a short walking distance to all restaurants, shops, The 30,000 Island cruise, The Stockey Centre and The Rugged Trail. Likewise, the staff is very friendly and ensure that all rooms are clean and welcoming for their guests. The staff check-in with you daily, address you by name and ensure that you have a wonderful visit. I appreciate their emails and online reminders about check-in, check out and other notices that help to make my stay very easy, worry free and enjoyable.

Clean and Nice Accommodations BUT Pricey w/ limited amenities.
Okay, let me tell you a bit about this 2-night stay at this motel. My family and I stayed at this facility during our week-long trip in the Georgian region in Aug 2022. Although the staff (owners) were extremely courteous and did their very best to heed our needs, and the room itself was very clean and neat the stay was way over-priced for what they offered in terms of a 2-star motel (almost $400 for 2 nights). Room felt very tight for the 4 of us (wife, myself, & 2 grown-up kids). I had to ask for extra towels and soap/shampoo couple of times as there was a single one in the bathroom. Design of the room with all of its furnishings were quite modern and smart. Accessing the 2nd floor was bit troublesome as we had to navigate upward through very narrow staircase. Biggest setback was breakfast consisting of basic sandwiches but were neatly packed on the ready (coffee was available in our coffee-maker). This would had not mattered much as we were within minutes walk to the Island Queen cruise & Parry Sound main street, but it is the price that mattered.

Place matched other reviews I have seen. Older motel but very clean room. No issues with my stay. Price was very reasonable

Check in was easy. The attendant was very helpful when I accidentally locked ourselves out. The bathroom was very nice, which I really appreciate in a place. And it was clean!

1/10 customer service, would not recommend.

My toddler had a medical emergency requiring hospitalization and we were unable to travel as planned. When I called the hotel, I was advised that their “boss wouldn’t care” and I would be charged full price for a “no show”. Would not consider any alternative option or partial refund, although I asked to stay at a later date due to the circumstances.

Travellers staying here can fully expect that regardless of the circumstances, they won’t care and will stick to their cancellation policy.

Alternatively, there are several other inns, hotels, and even air bnb to stay in the Parry Sound area… I’ll be sure to explore those options instead on my returns to the area.

Stayed the night in Perry Sound, got a 2 double beds on the ground floor and had a very nice rest. Good heating system because it was cold enough that ice formed on the cars overnight but was nice and toasty warm inside. Comfortable beds, good wifi and very nice staff

The hotel from outside looks old-ish but the room looked like newly renovated. If it was an option, I'd give 3.5 stars since the sheets and pillow cases looked like wasn't changed before we arrive. But, when we complained about it, we were offered to change them immediately although it was late at night. The staff was friendly, very kind. The location of the hotel is very convenient, so overall it was fine. If I go there again, I can stay in Sunrise again

The room was very clean and staff were very friendly and accommodating. We could only arrive late and the staff stayed to check us in at 1am. I wish we had more choice in the breakfast and I wish it included more fruit/protein. It consisted of toast, jam, 2 pastries, a granola bar and juice. It would nice if they allowed you to choose your juice/jam. Besides that great experience.

I spent the entire month of September 2022 at the Sunrise for my work, and had no complaints or issues. The rooms are small but quite functional, and are good, clean (and clean-smelling), comfortable and modern in décor and furnishings. The building itself is well-kept, built in late '50s or early '60s, but it has been completely renovated as recently as the last 1 to 3 years. Housekeeping was top-notch. The owners are a family of very nice people and go out of their way to serve their guests. It is quiet at night, I found no loud or rowdy guests during my entire stay here, and the place was usually fully-booked most of the nights I was there. Plenty of free parking and a 15-minute walk to the waterfront; downtown is right around the corner, a few minutes away. I'd choose the Sunrise over any other place in town for my future visits to Parry Sound.

Paid high price, was worth the price due to location in the town near to beach and bay, Rooms were clean and Renovated, comfortable Beds, staff was great

Surprisingly one of the cleanest room! The location is just sound the corner from the main street and pretty close to the beach. The room was very clean but the most impressive was the way they serve breakfast! All tide up in a plastic box just perfect for a day trip! Perfect! No mess no left overs, just perfect! Congratulations!

I spent one nigh in a queen bed room, it was clean, service was goid but the room was small and i paid 200 box for one night, it was so overpriced!

My spouse and I stayed 1 night in room 14 with a king bed. The room is on the middle of the balcony and was very clean; everything was as advertised. Bed was comfortable and supportive for a good night sleep. Two items though not a big deal was a) the window air conditioner fan on low speed was a bit loud so my spouse and I were awakened a few times b) the bathtub drain plug was not functionable so I could not soak in a hot bath. The front desk staff were friendly. Sunrise INN is good value, overall we are satisfied with our 1 night stay and would book again.

The room is comfortable and clean with great AC and a beautiful bathroom. Nice central location and the owners/employees are friendly. Will definitely stay here again.

Very clean rooms comfortable beds, consistent shower pressure, and quiet at night, put all that together with amazing rates you have a winning combination. If you are in Parry Sound and need a room check out this place.

I booked a non refundable room by mistake on Expedia. Later on i realized that on cancelation i wont get any return. I was so scared and disappointed. Later on i just contacted the property owner and infromed about this situation. They canceled the reservation and even gave me my money back. I felt relieved. Very much understandable and generous people.

Friendly, competent staff. Updated, clean and fresh king bed room. Boxed breakfast was a nice touch. A minor suggestion would be better coffee in the room. Will return!

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Sunrise Inn. The staff was fantastic! Very attentive and friendly. We were very impressed with the cleanliness and how quiet it was. The beds were very comfortable. The new renovations give the establishment that extra edge and attractiveness. Staying at Sunrise Inn made our Parry Sound Get-a-way that much better. All 5 of us agreed that we would definitely come back again:)

Very clean rooms, the people working there were nice, ok breakfast and they accommodated us very well, only thing that was questionable was the 20$ a night for pets but i was okay with it as they were at 185$ a night, so a good value for what we got.

Very nice local motel. Rooms very clean, no carpeting which was nice. AC worked well and it was hot. Nice chairs to sit outside on balcony. Icing on the cake was the ‘breakfast in a box’ we asked for as per the sign. It was so nice! A little take out package with a juice, toast/butter/ jam and a couple pastries and a granola bar. What a thoughtful touch. Thank you for the nice stay.

Renovated room and washroom. Spacious unit with air conditioning, cable TV. Unit was really well cleaned. Staff was friendly and the value is very good for rate/what you get. Definitely recommend this place and next time we come back to this area, this will be our choice. Thank you for providing a nice stay for me and my family.

This is an old motel in the older part of Perry Sound that has been renovated. Ceiling tiles and doors were not replaced so you could smell remains of cigarette smoke. Shower did not work properly. Room was small but clean. Staff were pleasant and friendly. Not a modern place. Not worth the price in my opinion.

We booked the room based on the reviews and we were happy with the choice. This place is very clean, we are very picky in regads to a clean room and this motel met out expectations. The stuff is very friendly and helpful, they made us feel welcome! The location is very good, everything is walking distance or very short distance drive. One thing that I am not sure it was mentioned in the reviews. For breakfast, they are giving 2 prepacked breakfast per room. We have children so they gave us 4. I am not sure what the rule is if we were 4 adults. But the breakfast is good, feeling. One negative experince that the owners might not be aware of and might take into consideration to change, the rooms have signs all over inside about do not smoke policies. The people that stay at the motel can smoke just outside the room which does not help to keep the smell from cigarets get into the room. One of our next door neighbors stayed outside until late at night to smoke. We came in the evening with take out dinner and had to eat in the room because of how bad it smelled from the 3 people smoking. Then, they woke us up at 7 am the next day, on saturday, because they were in front of the door smoking and talking. One of them put their chair right in front of our door, the smell came into our room. I saw other smokers who went to the BBQ area and I felt they were showing respect to the non smokers. I would recomand this place if you do not mind the smell from the cigarette in case you get neighbours like ours.

To be honest, I was a little sketchy about it when o drove up, an older looking older style motel. But the staff here are very friendly, and the rooms are clean and comfy. Don’t judge a book by its cover. Close to downtown stuff. Go to the pub around the corner. Good food.

The owners are super friendly and kind. I was travelling with my small children and the owner gave them some packets of cookies. Very sweet.

The rooms are really lovely, new flooring and beautifully tiled bathrooms. The renovations look great. The beds were very comfortable and they have wonderful adjustable climate control units that kept us perfectly comfortable.

The price is extremely reasonable especially when compared to other places in town which are more expensive and not nearly as nice.

The room was very clean, and the toilet even had a little band thing to say it had been sanitized which was reassuring.

They also provided a coffee maker and coffee in the room, the only thing I would have loved would have been an electric kettle for a cup of tea.

I will absolutely be staying here again next time I travel through

It is one of the cleanest places that we have ever stayed in. The front desk was very friendly and welcoming, after a nightmare that we had had at the Knights Inn not too far away. We particularly appreciated the tiled floors that were actually white in color with not a hair on them. The beds were comfortable and the Cleanest ever. We would definitely be going back anytime we visit Parry sound.

Clean rooms and a great price. They are located right downtown Parry Sound too which is good if you want to explore the town by foot, which of course you should do at least once.
