Sunset Grill

It was a disappointment for us this time. This is the 4 th Sunset grill that we tried but, for the first time we had this disappointment with sunset grill.

We entered the restaurant premises around 1 pm and we thought of sitting outside instead of inside. Then after sitting for more than 10 mins without any communication or service or water finally someone came to ask us if we decided the menu.

Anyway we were ready with our favourites and we ordered within 1 min.

We ordered California Benedict and sunset special egg with salmon and 2 fresh brewed coffee.

We were surprised that the food came within 5-6 mins after ordering and we thought that how come they cooked so fast.

But after getting the food we understood what happened. The potatoes were burnt. The bread (supposedly English muffin) was very tough so we were not able to cut it with. The bacons of the California Benedict were cold and tough to chew and the egg yolks were not hot from inside.

Which seems that it was prepared earlier for some reason and they just served it. Not sure if was cancelled by someone or if they prepare it in bulk.

But the brunch we expected was not there. Service was late initially and food was bad which made us sad anyway.

They tried to serve coffee twice 2nd time we were not interested as we were alrwady not liking the food.

This was my worst experience in sunset grill as of date after 4 trials. Otherwise I actually like their branch.

Went yesterday morning, the food was great but our server was awful. Was very condescending and tried to tell me about how much I should and should not eat, made me very uncomfortable.

Went to meet up with a friend. Service was quick and friendly. Food and order was perfect. They didn't rush us and allowed us to catch up.

Good food, good staff on all fronts, and everything goes smoothly each time we come here. For the amount of food you get, the price is great as well. We barely spend $15 per person and leave with full bellies.

Found bacon and sausages just warm, more to the cool side. But besides that coffee good and service excellent.

My son and I treat ourselves regularly to brunch at Sunset Grill Laird. We have never been disappointed. Friendly and involved owner, great staff, the food is ALWAYS fresh and delicious and the (good!) coffee keeps coming. Highly recommend this terrific little spot for a hearty or a light breakfast/ brunch. Well worth the occasional wait.

New owner, new chef. Potato hash browns were not soft enough, cooked in cubes instead of in slices. Hollandaise sauce was thicker than I expected. Presentation poor.

Great location and food, Gary (manager) was superb, friendly, and accommodating! Unfortunately we had a pretty rude and impatient waiter (shorter Asian lady) who was curt and easily frustrated from the moment we sat down - her behaviour was pretty appalling given that we had barely even interacted by then. Giving 5 stars to the restaurant nonetheless as I am sure her behaviour was a one off from the other staff.

I've been here multiple times always hoping for a better experience but just never got one.

Every time I've eaten there, me and my table have always been forgotten about. Repeatedly waiters have taken over 20 minutes to take our order and rarely come around to give us coffee. What really sealed the deal was seeing our waitress hang around a table of her friends, chat with them and completely ignore us. This group also came in 15+ minutes after us but got their food first. Honestly the busboys had better service than the waiters. Coupled with just subpar food, it's unlikely I'll be coming back

It was a packed day but staff was wonderful super friendly and service was great. The food was hot and amazing. Everything was just super great.

Nice and easy to access restaurant with helpful and polite staff and extremely delicious food.
This place has just became my favourite spot to spend time there.
We got meatlover and chicken wraps and they both were great.
I totally recommend this place.

Ordered a western sandwich for takeout this morning with a coffee and I was told that the coffee was no charge.

I wasn't expecting that and was really surprised. It was much appreciated.

When I came to pick up my order the staff at the checkout was really friendly.

I will definitely visit again

Great neighborhood restaurant. Quality food that is served hot and fast. Linda and staff do a wonderful job taking care of customers.

Great place for breakfast and brunch. Nice staff, food taste great and good portions. Unlimited coffee is always a bonus. Have brought many friends here and will continue to do so.

Every time I visit this place, I have an amazing experience. The staff are super friendly, the ambience is great, the quality and quantify of food is fantastic. Gary and Linda are the Owners and overall they have done an exceptional job!

We visited first time and we loved it. The serving size was quite big and refilling of coffee as many times as you want. We will order less food next time.
