Sunset Grill

Was hoping for a better experience than what I recieved. I love the sunset grill in Guelph, so decided to go to the Waterloo one since it was closer to home. To my disappointment, the waterloo location is awful. The food was not cooked through properly, the service was terrible (our waitress never checked on us, and then brought us the bill without us asking for it, assuming we were done when we weren't), and the whole building was way too hot. Not a pleasent experience at all. Will not be going back.

Stopped by for a quick breakfast and was not disappointed.

Great place for breakfast, I went with my family and we all loved it Staff asked us multiple times to make sure everything is good and very good welcoming staff as well.

Definitely going there again

As a chain they're mostly consistent, good people serving good food, and my first visit was not a compelling reason to return. I believe in second chances, so today myself and a couple of co-workers gave them a second chance. They did it right this time. I had the Steak and Eggs, and it was a very good steak. Enjoyable through every bite. The service was great, the price was fair. This place at the top of my list for all-day breakfasts.

Went on Saturday for brunch around 11: 30. The place was full but we got a table pretty quickly. Our server Sam was very friendly. She was serving quite a few other tables but you wouldn’t have known she was busy by the attentive service she gave us.

The food came out very fast and was really delicious!

This Sunset Grill has incredible service! The BLT and pancakes were delicious. Definetly a restaurant i'll be returning to in Waterloo.

CHECK YOUR BILL! Not our first time here but a reoccurring event of scamming! Owner was the one who served us and is always rude. She prints the correct bill and "accidentally" always gives you a different one and charges you more. It's always only a $5-10 addition but she is a scammer! When we walked back in to tell her the bill was wrong, she pulled up the correct bill right away and gave us the cash balance back pretty quick for what we overpaid. Definitely not her first time doing that! Beware!

Will not ever go here again. If you are looking for a worst costumer service this is the place for you.
Customer will be sitting having last bites with a full cup of coffee the manager/owner came and ordered the server they’re done clean the table!

Talking about the food - waited 20 mins we were already at our 2nd cup of coffee by then!
Food was late, cold and the sandwich’s bread was hard as brick!

Visited with my wife for her birthday. Had breakfast as our the server's recommendation. 5 star attitude, service and food. Surely recommended. Thanks Sam and Sayeeda.

The effect of inflation can definitely be seen in the food. I asked for avocado toast and I got half a toast with avocado. So then I ordered another serving just to be filled. It would be nice to clarify on menu if toast is half size or not.
Otherwise the staff that took care of me (Tue Dec 27) were excellent and pleasant.

Went for breakfast beginning of Nov around 11: 30am. It’s your typical breakfast spot. Had 3 Bacon, 3 eggs, home fries, toast for $11ish. Coffee extra. Was a little disappointed with home fries as they didn’t have much taste. But it is what it is. We got a table right away as we missed the rush hour. We had asked a server (not ours), for sweetener, and never received it. So we waited for our server and got it right away. Just little things that make the experience better or worse. I can’t complain much other than the extreme heat in the restaurant. I Was actually sweating while eating. I couldn’t wait to finish and get outside. Not sure if there was a heating issue? But it was crazy hot. Our server was pleasant and efficient. I think I will try to find another breakfast spot more suited to our tastes. But it serves up an ok breakfast if your easily impressed.

Loved this place! Absolutely amazing staff super skilled at their jobs. The long waiting in the morning line speaks for itself. I could go here for breakfast every day!

Kind of slow when we were there but our food came really fast and fresh so that was kinda awesome and our server was really sweet!

Always a great experience here - awesome food, great variety on the menu, and wonderful service. Shoutout to exceptional server Sam who is always so friendly, welcoming, and fun. Had the breakfast eggs and bacon. Loved the potatoes and meal was hot and delish. Will be back

Went in today and placed our orders, we were notified that the “steamer” wasn't working so we would be getting our home-fries a little undercooked. ” Food arrived after 30 min and there were no home fries and nothing wasn’t mentioned. Had to ask the waitress in which she said they wouldn’t be able to serve them. I then had to ask how the bill would work out since we weren't receiving what we paid for. Im frustrated in the owners/managers lack of handling the situation; the waitress was nice and apologetic. I later was asked if i wanted sliced tomatoes or veggies to “makeup” for it. Veggies came which were literally 2 slices of cucumbers halved and 2 carrots. A small discount or better option would have been better but I was told it would be “an extra charge. ” I love sunset grill but not this location.

Sunset grill is my favorite place for breakfast. Then service is great, the employees are awesome. Food is great.
