Great customer service right from the first phone call inquiring about their service. Getting my service up and running was seamless. The equipment arrived in a day. Internet speed is really good. Highly recommend.

So far I love the experience. The services are reliable. I like the fact you can schedule your payment a few days out from the due date so you don't be late, especially handy when your payday is a couple of days later. I didn't need a technician visit as the setup was easy and the instructions being pretty straightforward. I am also happy to know they also service Capreol also so I won't have an issue moving the services when I am lucky enough to be able to move out there.

The Customer service at Sunwire Inc.is First Class. We are new to the area and our interaction with all depts at Sunwire was easy & they explained all the questions I had and equipment & install were done on time and worked excellent.

I went from Eastlink and Bell (for my roommate) to Sunwire 4 months ago. No regrets!
We combined our electronics usage which we thought would overload our service but no! The service is excellent and cheaper.
Five months in, we are using the whole home Wi-Fi mesh system and we are happy customers. I am so impressed with Sunwire's service.

Okay, to be honest I don't and can't get Sunwire because I live rural and Starlink is my only best provider which is great btw. What I did though is I hooked up my brother and sister plus another friend to them whom live in Sault Ontario.
The service is perfect with an uptime that hasn't stopped in over a year from activation. The pricing is great with flexibility to save more when you buy their modem and provide your own router.
Honestly I'd hook up if I could but at least I get to help my friends and family save and enjoy internet just like any other provider!
In all 3 hookups they all were with the big cable provider previously so no on site visit was required to start service however do note that in each scenario you must know a little about hooking up the cables and configuring your router should you opt to provide your own to save money off your monthly bill. If you struggle with this then sign up for their router/modem combo that includes wifi.

I'm sorry to say that I'm not very happy with my service so far. 1st issue- twice now I've lost complete service for several hours, especially troublesome loss of my land line phone. Second 3 times now "pvr" shows I set up didn't record. I'm not sure at this point if I am going to continue this service.

Everything is excellent, from the quality of the internet to the service! We didn't have an outlet to connect the router, but the master came and fixed it in less than 15 minutes! The quality of the internet is enough to play on Xbox, watch videos and be online on your phone. Definitely will recommend

After four appointments to get internet installed, still no internet. First visit the tech didn't have a ladder tall enough, second time they didn't show up even after confirmation, next another tech showed up without a long enough ladder again, then another no-show. Had to stay home from work for all of these visits.

I am currently experiencing a wifi outage since the afternoon today. This is such an inconvenience since I work from home. Nobody has access to get any work done. When I contacted, they said they had to check the cables from the lines company which will take time until the next day. They are unable to send a technician until later in the morning. I am not sure how long this would last and I’m worried about not being able to start work on time. Super inconvenient and wouldn’t recommend:

I signed up for 1gb service and Sunwire was unable to provide the speed promised. I then disconnected the service very shortly after but they would not refund the installation fee. If you are unable to provide the agreed upon service, you should refund the install fee as it’s not my fault you offer something you can’t provide.

Very very bad experience. Signed up for 1 gig connection, but did not get the speed at all. Technician came out but did not fix the issue. I canceled the service with in 2 days and return the equipment, but did not get fully refund. Long story short why charge people when you don't provide the 100% service, it is not good business ethics, regardless of your company policy. Don't advertise the service which you can't fulfill. Stop taking away the money from people in the name of company policy.

They need to get their stuff together. Nothing but problems. And speeds are not accurate. Paying for 900 speed and i get maybe 400 if I’m lucky. They are cheap internet though. Technicians are nice but the tech support is off. Right now my internet is connected to the neighbour's house because my cable line is broken. I’m online but they are having a hard time getting someone to fix it.

Sunwire is good general internet but it’s slow at times. I have done some internet speed test and it reads a low speeds. I guess this proves to myself my convictions. Slow speeds are intermittent so not always just slow at times.

Excellent experience.
I had previously attempted to have brand E install their cable Internet service, but was told by the installers that installation was not possible due to the awkward location of my house.
Sunwire went the extra mile and did the installation with a very neighbour-friendly run of their cable.
The cost of Sunwire Internet service is lower than the big-name competitors, and my Internet runs at the advertised speed for ther service level I purchased.
So.lower cost, better sevice, A1 installation, speed as advertised, and the money stays local.
Much to like and so far nothing to dislike.

My service is continually disrupted and I cannot get them to acknowledge the problems I am having. I scheduled A call back after waiting for too long on a couple occasions but they have not responded. Been with them for over 10 years and I am searching for a new provider, I just wish we had more options.

I was with Sunwire for 4 years (No issues) and recently decided to upgrade my package for faster internet speed, they sent me a new router and home internet system. This company is one to avoid at all costs. I was charged the initial price to send the equipment to which I agreed. Then the activation. What a joke. After Shaw's joke I seen sunwire and thought it would be a refreshing change. So I call for activation in early June. Told it may take up to 2 more weeks and the guy didn't know when. So now Shaw didn't stop charging me and the cancelation was ignored. So both companies benefit. Not so for the consumer. I told them to send me the return sticker and would not ever use or recommend their service. So I see today they are thinking like snakes and will charge my debit over 230.00. For equipment never activated and sent back. Same as Shaw. And having the Shaw idot company take over 500.00 out of my account to pay for receivers from the late1980s was and is a joke. So sunwire is a company who has kept my initial hundred and change and I assure you they will never see another Nickle. Sudbury joke. Like the company. Scabs who prey on Canadians. Not this one. And never again. Your company deserves to be charged for practices like scumbag companies deserve. Ya. A real Canadian called you out. Stick it.

We went in to get wifi and a tv package. It was super easy to pick our package, we gave the code word 'HOT' to wave the activation fee (from hot 93.5) and paid the first payment. Our equipment will arrive at our house in a few business days!

Easy to select your preferred packages, equipment can be shipped to your house for set up, and it's not very expensive! I've had internet with them when they were first open and I've never had an issue.

After weeks of getting low upload speeds and sudden modem auto-restarts, they sent me a new modem. This new one was supposed to have been provisioned. It wasn't. The old one had been disconnected by them already. After 72 hours without any Internet service and they giving me the same typical BS: the phone line hasn't replied to us, I canceled.

Absolutely ridiculous.sun wire seems to continuously have the same problems with customers. It should not take forever to get internet access from them.i’m going through similar issues with sun wire atm. I called them to set up my internet and explained that i will need cabling installed because my apartment is newly renovated. They told me i will receive 2 emails, 1 for activation and other for when the cable company will
come in to install cable. I received the first email but no indication or email on when I will have cable installed. A week in, I decided to call and ask for myself, It seems they never even called their cabling partner because They told me there was no prior appointment booked for me.they forgot. A week later, The cable guy came (yesterday) and told me he was only there to check the connection on my router.what? He took a quick look around, said he couldn’t install cable because that was never booked.are you kidding me right now. Therefore TWICE sun wire failed to do their job. I explained my frustration on the phone and i asked if they can fix their mistakes, i haven’t received a call from them.my girlfriend and i have exhausted our data on our phones and basically have not been able to do our studying or anything else at home. My girlfriend is in paramedic school, she can’t keep missing classes because our internet provider doesn’t have their stuff together. They should be fixing this right away, i mean when i worked at the bank, if we made constant mistakes, the customer/client would be on the top of our priority list. I’ve read multiple reviews, this company fails to do their job continuously.

I signed up about 5 weeks ago, and so far, so great! Sign up process was easy. I signed up online, my modem and router was then shipped to me, along with easy to understand, descriptive instructions on how to connect/hook up. I did encounter connection issues but the caller support was wonderful. Unfortanutely I still ended up needing a person to come to my home, which they werent able to send someone for nearly a whole week. That timing was the only downfall. Otherwise customer service all around was great, and the connection reliability and speed have been great so far. Bonus - the price is great! Highly recommend!

I’ve been with Sunwire for over a year and I couldn’t be happier.
Their pricing is, hands down, the best I’ve found, the service is fast and reliable AND they serve rural areas!
Add to that, their friendly, knowledgeable and attentive customer service reps and you won’t believe your luck in finding an internet provider that you’ll want to recommend to, well, everyone.

I don't ever leave bad reviews, but this company has been so incredibly unreliable that I feel the need to share in the hopes of helping other future customers. I have been without internet for a while now and Sunwire has put in zero effort to help me, despite having charged me. They ended up booking an appointment for a technician to come fix the issue, days after when I initially contacted them. I took the day off work, as they gave me a 12-5pm window for an appointment, but the technician never showed up. No one bothered to call me, so I called Sunwire and they were not able to tell my why the technician didn't show up. They told me they would call me with information regarding what happened, but I haven't heard anything back. Currently looking into more reliable companies in the area.

Well, where to start.
WHEN the internet works it is ok. Connection isn't what it is advertised as even at its very best. I constantly lose service, usually after midnight.
The price somewhat reflects what you get, however it's still too much. At the very least you would think a comms company would do what they can to retain customers, but it's been clearly shown to me they do not value your hard earned dollars.
A city of Sudbury worker took out our cable/internet lines, so the house is without any connection. When asked to have it looked at, they informed us it would be looked at within 24 hours. Later this evening we had received information that they could not come to repair it until August 3rd. I live in a city if under 200k people, with atleast 10 different internet providers in the city, so how is a 10 day wait at all acceptable? Perhaps in the morning I will switch providers.
Just remember, you get what you pay for, sometimes worse. Sunwire is cheap for many reasons, and yet I wouldn't recommend this service to anyone based on the past 2 years with them. Absolute disgrace if telecoms corp.

I'm a Kirkland Lake customer. I signed up for Sunwire when their Internet 150 was $79.99 (advertised as NOT INTRODUCTURY at the time, this has changed). Within 3 months they raised my price to $84.95.

I reduced my plan to Internet 100 for $69.95 and I'm paying $79.95 per month. Similar price to what I first signed on for for less.

Keep in mind that their advertised prices are introductory and they will exercise their privilege to increase your price.

Support response is quick however you will have to wait 24 to 48 hours for an Eastlink technician if one is required. Also expect a few random drops and slow down to less than 2Mbps during the week. Not a deal breaker but frustrating if you're working from home. Sunwire will try to repair the issue however it will keep happening.adding an edit: Their support team is good however I want to share the response from Alex when I inquired about raising my supposedly non-introductory price:

"This is the first time we have increased our pricing since we started offering services in mid late 2015. This price change is for new and existing customers. Our website price’s changed about two weeks ago but for existing customers this price change only takes effect as of April 1st. "

Please keep in mind that your price will change within three months of signing up. They do not make this clear on their website.

I would rate two stars for shadiness but their tech support person Thorin gets them one more.

Five starts all the way around from us. The transfer of our services to Sunwire was seamless. Got a great price point and stable internet service but most importantly is the ongoing customer service. The staff is friendly and very helpful with taking us through the process and the continued follow up is very impressive. Highly recommended!

**update**Sunwire called me back and they were excellent, they got me fixed up through Eastlink. Eastlink does the repairs and their clients are first priority. However they got someone out and got fixed up! Sunwire was excellent customer service but Eastlink meh.lol

Had this service for approx 2 years. Great until there is a problem. My line was cut that goes into the house, it goes over the street. I’ve been advised they cannot get two technicians out for 5 weeks. Need two technicians cause the line goes over the road. Not good when I’m working from home. Meanwhile the cable is laying on the road and my lawn.

Very pleased with all aspects of this provider's service. Installation went as promised, initial connection problem was corrected very promptly, and billing was without any issues.
Customer service is first rate as is the Internet service provided. And all for much less than I was previously paying.

We switched over from Bell to Sunwire today. So far, it has been a very pleasant experience. The staff were quick to answer our questions and were very helpful and great to deal with! We received the modem with cables and instructions quickly.
Since we did not have an active cable connection, a technician had to come over and run one to our house. Justin was an absolute pleasure to deal with! Professional, prompt, polite and skilled. I connected everything after I got home from work and now we have fast internet for less money per month! We highly recommend Sunwire!

So very pleased with Sunwire's service and pricing. The staff are extremely helpful, kind and thorough. I did not feel rushed on the phone when I had issues, very personal touch to help you with any issue. I would highly recommend others to switch over to their service. I haven't had any issues with disconnection or anything else. My household is a gaming house so most times, there are always 2 people gaming at the same time and 1 person streaming tv shows without any trouble at all with lag or loading times. I have no complaints or suggestions for improvement so far. Also, you help support a great local company provide outstanding services.

Amazing service, I switched from bell fibre so was a bit worried. The service has been far better then what I had with bell and much more cost efficient. The customer service is outstanding, way better than I have received anywhere else. I would highly recommend this to anyone and have.

I am a new customer just switched to Sunwire; and I am sure I had made the right move. I had big issues setting up the phone line incorporated into my phone network and also connection with my security system. With the Excellent tech support, great service and follow up from the Tech Team - Ray and his colleagues, they had taking days and hours helping me to resolve all the issues. This is the company that I will highly recommended to any customers.

Sunwire should be proud that they have an excellent team supporting all their customers; that explained why they get a very high customer rating.

Sunwire is the best provider I've had for internet in Sudbury thusfar. I've had service from almost all of our bigger companies over the years and had nothing but problems for a higher monthly cost. Sunwire is less expensive, the signal is strong and the service is incredible. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a problem-free, worry-free internet service provider.

At 9 days now with no answer yet as to when my internet will be activated. Due to the wait I can’t attend my families zoom Christmas this weekend as planned as I work over the holidays. They keep saying they have no control over it and I’m in a queue. Ok - where am I in this queue? They don’t have an answer.

UPDATE: After a long frustrating week and a half of calling to have my internet activated they reached out and got my internet running temporarily while I wait for the activation. With the lockdown coming I was concerned about going another 2 weeks and into the new year without an activation but they came through. Overall frustrating to get the activation but it’s nice to see they genuinely care about their customers and I’m confident I made the right choice choosing Sunwire.

We recently switched to Sunwire. Customer service was quick and friendly when picking up the modem. Had some delay in connection due to records showing existing cable and technician finding none. However that was resolved within a few days and the service has been great. Sunwire customer service has followed up a couple of times to ensure that we were satisfied with our new service.

Been waiting for a whole month now for internet and we've had 2 internet "specialists" here now trying to get internet. They had no idea how to do there job not one of them even tried to run a wire out to the street. Going to be now waiting another 11 days to have another guy come in hopefully I can actually get internet thern. They contract the installers from Eastlink so they really don't care about the speed of the appointments. In my honest opinion talking with staff and managers ive had a very horrible experience and have felt many times that this company is not very professional and doesn't really care too much about the outcome. I wanted to switch providers and I was basically told other providers would most likely be even longer of a wait time.

Sunwire service was installed on October 7th, 2020. It has worked well since that date, it is reliable and the promised speed is consistent. I am very satisfied with the service, and can recommend it wholeheartedly.

Anyone with a decent review of this company never ran a speed test. This IS typical of their service as I run a test weekly and never get anywhere near what they advertise. They don't have a modem with WIFI and run a router like the year 1998 their hardware seems to be 20 years behind. During the example in this photo I am 2 feet from the router with ZERO obstructions. LOW pricing.low quality

Was very happy to switch expensive and interruptive Roger's internet for SunWire. They are very affordable, friendly and the same time professional. You can always get a hold of someone the same minute you call. With Rogers you will be put on hold literally for a couple of hours sometime trying resolve your billing or technical support issues. Rogers raising their prices every year dispite promising the best internet and phone prices. They would never give any discounts for a long and relatable customer (I was with Rogers over 25 years). As soon as I decided to discontinue dealing with them and found SunWire- they started to transfer me from one department to another and each department and agent was trying to convince me to stay.again offering temporarily $5 discount for only a year. Anyways. I don't regret dumping them and having and excellent quality and internet service with SunWire. I would recommend them to everyone. People, don't be afraid of changes. Rogers need to put competitive prices and quality in place because they are not the only one in Canada.

So far, for the most part, they are pretty good. I had an issue with speed and contacted support and they had me reset the modem and router. I have had the same issue a couple more times since. I think it may be a modem/router issue. Apparently they had to buy these new units because they ran out of the other ones. I will look into getting a replacement modem when they get the other “all in one” units back. As for the location/placement, my router is located about 5 to 10 feet from where I am generally at most of the time. I’m pretty sure there is an issue with one of these units. Resetting always seems to do the trick but I shouldn’t have to reset every week. Otherwise they are identical service to Eastlink and I never had an issue with Eastlink except for the pricing being outrageous.

This is the most unreliable internet provider, the network (eastlink) seems to go down weekly, and when it is actually up and running it is incredibly slow like 2002 slow I measured and get 11mbps even though I pay for 75. I guess if you would like your family to get outdoors more and spend less time streaming things THEN you should get sunwire but if you rely on the internet for any sort of employment then the reliability and speed issues will become a constant theme.
