Super 8 by Wyndham Mt Hope Hamilton Intl Arpt ON

Worst desk service I've encountered anywhere. The miserable girl working the evening of the 23 of April and the elderly woman with the dyed orange hair working the morning of Monday 24 need to be replaced with nice decent humans. Where do you get these horrible employees? They huff and puff at you for asking questions, roll their eyes at you for asking for help, make it seem like a huge ordeal that you are forcing them to actually do their job. I'd never come back and I'd advise everyone else to do the same, they treat you like dirt on their shoe. Definitely the most unwelcoming hotel we've been through.

Awful experience. Stayed in room for 6 hours before an early flight, woke up to bed bugs. Multiple bites and bugs. Stayed on second floor. Stay somewhere else. It's worth the extra time to the airport to avoid this place. Unbelievable for a Wyndham brand hotel.

Rooms could use updating little old but very clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful especially when our flight got delayed. Very close to Hamilton airport

ABSOULTE DUMP! Holes in the walls, dated decor, no hospitality whatsoever. Not sure how this can be called an airport hotel as its not even that close by. Avoid at all costs, cant believe super 8 would even associate there brand with this dumpster fire.

This hotel is in poor repair. The carpets are shredding, the drywall is peeling badly. No amenities nearby.

Bed Bug everyone, most uncleanness hotel I every seen! Right by airport! They refuse give our money bac. Had call talk 4 different people! Extremely disgusted of level disrespect! I am severely allergic to bed bug experience once college in Hamilton had do specialist for treatment.they have not properly clean the hotel they spray raid! They have fumigate the entire hotel.

Stayed here for a few days. Woke up the morning covered in bed bug bites. They were all over my face and neck! DISGUSTING. The comforters were nothing but a bed sheet and a thin blanket. The fan in our washroom was hanging on by a thread and very loud. The handle on the faucet kept falling off. Towels were never clean. Spend the extra money and go elsewhere. Never again

Absolute filth, stains everywhere, very smelly, heaters don’t work properly.windows have screens ripped half, so called cheap room 107$ for a night …. Not worth it just as a spot to sleep even.
Disgusting place. Staff not helpful in any way.

Ok, so stayed here thru Priceline. $77 room so low expectations. Good - Room was clean, bathroom was clean. That's it for the good.
Bad - lady working the front does not have social skills, the "free breakfast" is pathetic. Not a breakfast at all. 4 items - apples, packages of oatmeal, granola bars and mini muffins. It was a snack table. I spoke to lady at front about it, she was unable to engage in a proper conversation with me, gave me the manager's email.

I would not stay here again. $77+ tax was even too much. I think we lucked out that our room was clean (#116) because I do not doubt the other reviews about bed bugs and blood/dirt/etc.

I don't think they care, the lady at the front defintely doesn't. AVOID.

Let’s just say the sheets aren’t changed here. First corner of the covers I pulled over were stained with something red (who knows), mascara stains on the pillows, previous guest’s tube of lipstick. Front desk reluctantly gave us new sheets for us to change. Odd stench. Better off literally anywhere else

Price is cheap but you get what you pay for. Thin walls that you can hear all the noise in the next room too easily. No soap in the bathroom, stains on carpet, ripped couches, broken hinges on cupboards and beds and pillows that were brutal. Place needs a serous makeover. Spend the extra $$ and go down the road to the Marriot.

I would not recommend this Super 8 to anyone. It is run down, very filthy, dirty, and smelly. The bed was not comfortable, the furniture was old and broken. The carpets were old and disgustingly dirty. It needs the biggest facelift and I know we won't be returning in the future.

Rooms were old, smelled like cigarettes and pot, and run down. Booked here because in Alberta the Super 8 hotels are updated and reasonably priced. Had I have know what kind of place it was I wouldn't have paid anymore than $49 a night. Staff were not accomidating and very ignorant.

Only 2 small pillows, paper thin blanket, insufficient toilettries, heating system impossible to regulate, no eating establishments there or within walking distance. On the other hand, helpful staff.

Main room sink clogged, no stir sticks for coffee, only two very thin pillows for queen bed, only on hand towel no face clothes. Between to jam and door hallway light shines right onto bed.

Stayed many times, rooms are dirty. Staff is rude. They over charged my card and and refused to refund. Stay away

As a young woman travelling for work, safety is of upmost importance, and the hotels I select have always offered me comfort and support. Upon arrival to your hotel, I had a male guest make inappropriate comments towards me; I mentioned this to your staff at the desk, but unfortunately they did nothing to help me feel welcome or comfortable. In addition, when I arrived at my room, the door was ajar and it seemed someone had recently been inside; the bathroom smelled as though someone had just used the toilet, and it was wafting into the room. Furthermore, when I folded down the bedspread, there were blood stains on the sheets.

Unfortunately, these conditions were unsatisfactory and unsafe for me to stay in the hotel. I was in the room for merely 10 minutes before I went back out to customer service to awkwardly voice my concerns. Unfortunately, they could not offer a refund for the unfortunate conditions which forced me to vacate the hotel.

They provided me with the manager’s email to discuss compensation for my experience. I would have appreciated a resolution and believe it best practice to grant a refund, for these conditions which forced me to find other accommodations for the evening. I never heard back from the manager.

As a member of Wyndham Hotels, I was very disappointed in the service I was given and the state of the room. The price I paid for a King Suite was not reflected in the state of the room, nor the service I received.

This was my second time staying here. The location is great! It’s a 10 minute drive to restaurants, and a 6 minute drive to the John C. Monro airport.
The decor is outdated but I don’t care about that as it’s just a place to stay pre-flight. My room had fully functional lights, locks, remote and a/c. I saw no signs of bedbugs and my lines were clean.
Very credibly and helpful staff.
Could use a better vacuuming, it overall no problems.
I will stay here again without worry.

Old. Stained carpets. Small rooms. No air conditioner that worked. No screens in the window. Poor bed comforter.

Rented 2 rooms for wedding guests.
Charged for 6 rooms and still waiting on refunds.

Tired hotel, good service and very close to Hamilton Airport. Bathroom was clean, sink drain very slow. Room was clean but old amd tired. Parking for the week at very reasonable rates and short cab ride to the airport. We were up to early to get the included breakfast so no idea how that was. It was ok for a very short night before a flight out.

Terrible experience! The room is so dirty! Moisture, dust, paint broken. The breakfast is linites to some granola bar, coffee and juice nothing more. I don't recommend

Would not recommend. Arrived at Check in desk and had to wait 15 minutes just to check in because the receptionist was on the phone. When we finally got to the room, the window had no screen and the toilet was not flushing. But believe it or not, our problems were nothing compared to the other people with us. Other people with us said their room had holes in the wall, one other person had to switch rooms twice because there were pee stains and blood stains on the bed. The next morning the breakfast room was horrible. All they had was coffee, microvable oatmeal, and stale muffins, and they expect us to eat that. Overall terrible.

We stayed here for one night at the beginning and end of a 1 week trip. Pay more and go somewhere else.
To summarize it was the dirtiest most uncomfortable hotel I have ever stayed in.

- black mold all over the bathroom ceiling
- sink wouldn't drain
- bed was like sleeping in a taco
- sheets had pee stains on them
- light outside the hotel flashed constantly both times we stayed. We could see the light even with the blinds closed
- people were tailgating in the parking lot meaning we couldn't even use the sidewalk to walk in without passing people smoking and drinking.
- could not open our window as smokers smoke wafted in.
- looked like the air conditioning unit was ready to fall off the wall.

Had we not pre-booked I would not have stayed there.
We are reasonably well traveled and this was the worst hotel by far I have ever been to.

Look, this is a cheap place to stay near the airport. You get what you need - a bed, a bathroom, and that's about it. Room was hot when we entered, so I turned on the A/C - not hard. My only complaint is that the place doesn't have an accessible entrance.

Horrible room! Smelled of smoke.stale and dirty. Bed looked like someone just slept in it. They offered room nextdoor. Not much better. We left but still had to pay. I did not want to unpack my bags. Waited to find cockroaches. Dont bother staying here YUCK!

Honestly i would not stay at this super 8 ever again even if the room was free. I've had sheets thicker than the blankets that were on the bed. Ice machine is broken fridge is smaller than my cooler and the breakfast was a granola bar and horrible coffee. Worst sleep I've ever had staying at a hotel period

We booked an Airbnb for our one day trip to Hamilton. Unfortunately the Airbnb unit was really dirty so we had to find a last minute alternative. Super 8 had a mobile special and we were able to get a room for about $80 for one night. Our stay here was pretty good, furniture was outdated and there was some wear and tear to alot of stuff, but it was much cleaner than the Airbnb we were going to stay at.

Such a shame this nicely located hotel has gotten so run down. Had stayed many times in the 5 to 7 years ago time frame. It is obvious that nothing has been replaced in the interim. Linens are simply worn out with some stains visible. Carpets are worn out. Furniture is worn out. You get the picture. But the worst is a theme popping up by many others. Bed Bugs. My first time encountering them in the 35 years of working and doing a LOT of travelling. Staff seemed relatively unconcerned when I reported it on leaving. There should really be a selection for 0.25 stars, one star is too generous.

It's not in the best shape, and they give you next to nothing in terms of amenities.

Bottom line: I can only recommend it as a convenient and cheap place to sleep before an early flight out of YHM.

The room was dirty. The mattresses were discusting, stained, ripped. There was only 2 sheets on the beds and no blankets. The bathroom had hair all over. The walls had unidentified stuff all over it. They said they had a shuttle but it was taxi service and then would only take 3 people. Didn't sleep at all the beds were so bad. Would have had a better sleep in a tent.

Tiny and cozy. Nothing special in exterior, but the staff makes this absolutely top choice for me! You won't find a collection of staff more attentive, courteous, helpful. I had multiple conversations with three innkeepers during my stay, and everyone was so very nice and made me feel welcome. Highly recommended, and nearby airport too (I drove, lol)

Hotel says pet friendly but doesnt allow cats.guy i talked to on phone was very rude.id like else where.

Its has an aweso.e looking interior asmuch as the out side and the staff their are friendly and give great advice for t time spent there with in the hotel and the surrounding area! I like how close it is to the airport, makes a convenient location to unboard then find your reservation so you can sleep horizontally or find something to do with in the place or find a nice small store near by or check out some of the nice cenery in the area while you are go carting at another business about 10min drive away next to a major road way with high industrial properties.

The bed was no great. Now, it's possible COVID 19 has affected some things. But no soap or shampoo. There was towels
Breakfast. Some supermarket muffins apples and water bottle.

I would no recommend for people with asthma or little children. The room smells like a vaccine cleaner dust. Really hard to stay there i open the window but screen is broken so no safe. Also nothing around. No stores or restaurants. Nothing at all even Uber eats could not find the place.

I slept on top of the sheets but my friend regrettably slept under the sheets and got bed bug bites all over her body

If you need a place just to sleep. This hotel was ok. All you get is a 2 bars of soap. No microwave no fridge.

Worst motel I've ever had the displeasure of staying at. I prepaid for the room a day before, and when I showed up, they charged me another 200 dollars CASH for a credit deposit? Very rude counter staff. Room was dirty, bed not recently made properly, the ac unit vibrated all night and the toilet ran all night. Will never go back there and would not recommend this place to anybody!

This is a decent hotel. It has all the amenities you expect from a hotel. It just seemed as if they were just slightly worse than you would want. The rooms were nice but small. The TV was very small. The breakfast was super small (due to covid they just served coffee and muffins). But the staff were friendly and the price was great. Overall I have no complaints.

There was hair everywhere. It was dirty and it smelled really bad. Got a partial refund and left. If i could give less than a 1 star i would. Not worth $130

Conveniently close to the airport for early flights, our room was clean but tired, and advertised amenities were missing (mini-fridge, microwave, iron, and ironing board). Also, be aware that there will be a charge for early check in that you won't be told about until you arrive at the front desk.

Disgusting room. Pillows were stained. Checking out after they offered to change the pillow cases. GROSS! DO NOT BOOK HERE! THEY OFFERED TO CHANGE THE PILLOWS! YA NO! CALLED THE HOTEL I HAVE TO WAIT 7-10 DAYS TO HEAR FROM A MANAGER. NOT ACCEPTABLE!

It's definitely not the Ritz but it's 100% of what they're there for that being a fly through or 1-2 nite simple stay clean, quiet and safe. LOVED THE STAFF! Only reason not 5 star rating for 2 star hotel is brutal clients who smoke inside even with fines! Staff is magnificent but can only do so much when adults choose to do as they please in the privacy of their rooms ie smoke sigh. Also note this is the Only hotel close to the Hamilton airport which is the best airport to fly into in Ontario now with least drama and people. I avoid TO international at this time.

Overall good and very close to airport, but sadly, a smell of cigarette smoke in our corridor (every room had a No Smoking sign on it, so I'd assume there were no smoking rooms in that corridor) and it was VERY strong in our bathroom, so there must be an Air Handling/ Air Balancing problem that is allowing air into our cooridor and bathroom from other hotel areas.
The staff were very friendly (our taxi to the airport was organised by her), the room was otherwise very comfortable, spacious and quiet. We'd stay there again but would like the smoke smell issue investigated.

Rooms obviously aren't cleaned thoroughly stuff all over beside the bed someones face mask and water bottle behind the nightstand. Management is good, beds are alright only issue is the cleaning or very clearly lack of cleaning. Honestly a bit shocking to see considering the current situation where businesses are to follow strict cleaning rules to stay open, to meet guidelines etc.

The place is dirty which is surprising because Super 8 has been pretty clean in my experiences. The bed was well past its life span and pillows lumpy. The water doesn't get very hot either. I would not stay here again especially at $150 a night, not worth it at all.

0 stars. This place is a dump. Went to the holiday inn after checking in and it was cheaper and WAY nicer. There was no food available all the way out here either. Would NOT recommend.

Wow, decades old matresses that dig into your side, one set of pillows, no extra blanket, a shower that you can barely stand in because it has some weird shelving system built in. Sink was rusted.
No microwave in our room while our friend was missing their coffee maker in theirs. The smell was like stale cigarettes and the floor didn’t look like it had been vacuumed in weeks.
The walls are so thin where you can hear your neighbours vacate their bladders. The door peephole had some sort of residue on it where you couldn’t see out of it.

The doors to the outside do not have a wheelchair accessible powered door either.

In the current pandemic situation you would think a hotel that had to stay closed for so long would have stepped up its cleaning regiment to stay open. I really hope the govt reads this review and decides to do a surprise inspection!

Unfortunately there is no other place to stay here. I would rather pitch a tent in a field than stay here again.

The accommodations were better at the Ottawa jail (hostel) than here. At least they provided earplugs.

Stayed there for an extended stay for work. Staff are friendly and helpful, the place is clean, and it's close to the airport.

What's not to dislike? Uncomfortable beds? Toilet that doesn't like to flush or the two setting heating system - freezing cold and Scandinavian sauna

Stay here one night because they are very close to the Hamilton airport. Not a very nice place for over $125 a night so probably will not return.
